Hello everyone and welcome to ZapdosZulu's very own writing workshop thread!
Have you ever found yourself feeling stuck or frustrated while writing a post?
Have you ever written a post SO good that you wanted everyone to look at?
Or a post that no matter how you rework it, just never feels quite right?
Have you ever wished there was somewhere you could go for ideas and constructive feedback on your threads or posts?
Well, whether you have or not, now that place exists! (It's here! It's this thread!!! WOWZERS!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~On this thread, you can do one of two things:
- Look for feedback/ *constructive* criticism
-Give feedback/ *constructive* criticism
If you are seeking feedback, all you need to do is either post a link to a thread or post that you want others to look at, or if you want feedback on something you are still working on writing just post the text that you are working on (and perhaps a link to the thread it will be posted on if it's going on an on-going thread). Be sure to mention if there is some kind of feedback you are looking for (example: I want help on grammar! Can you look at my character development? Is this post too long? Too short? Any recommendations on how to make this more exciting?)
If you want to give feedback, simply read over other's requests for feedback and reply to them! Be sure to read over their request carefully-- a member might not want feedback on their grammar or they might really only want you to focus on a certain part of their post!- and of course, read their submission carefully! It is also important that your feedback remain respectful and constructive. Don't focus solely on what someone can do better, be sure to let them know what they did well too! I recommend starting and ending on a positive note!
Oh, and tag the original writer on your feedback so they can find it quickly!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Sound good? Then let's get started! Let's help each other become even awesomer writers!
