{ } Ah, spring had come, and there was so much to do in Cherrygrove City. With the sun moving slowly over the sky, morning had moved to noon. The egg was warm and snuggly inside her bag in which she was taking care of. She had also wanted her Pokémon to get used to her since the assumption that they would not initially like her at first. Although, it did have to take some time for Chronos to get used to her, she thought it best to have him go on a daytime stroll with her. "Let's come out, Chronos." She pressed the button on Chronos' Pokeball and with a red beam of light, the Hoothoot came out. The owl Pokémon turned to look at her, maybe he was waiting for her to introduce herself fully. "Hello, my name is Amaryllis. I do hope you'll get used to me, but I know it takes time. Here, why don't we watch over this egg together?" Chronos blinked once before he nodded slightly with a hoot of satisfaction. "Hoohoo! Hoot!" The bustling streets were a sign that life had returned to the then empty, dull, and sleepy road though pretty much, everyone was asleep at the time. Chronos preferred to hop with his feet, perhaps he wasn't going to use his short stubby and flappy wings to fly around. He was given plenty of food during her overnight stay at the city which made him calm down, but not willing to hack down from his own rivalry with the day bird on the same team. Whether or not, a wild Pokemon or a trainer stopped by to interrupt their stroll, Chronos was ready. OOC: @staff | 280 words for egg MADE BY VEL OF GS

A pink feline slinked along the ridge of the roof, pattering across terracotta tiles quietly. Its ears pricked up at the sound of a female below and the soft hoot of an owl Pokemon. The Skitty switched her tail left to right fidgeting with the built up tension that came with a hunt. It had been a stray its whole life raised by a homeless man in an abandoned hovel in a rundown suburb of Cherrygrove, along with a family of Meowth and Purrloin. Rarely did it have an opportunity to hunt on its own but seeing the sight of the owl, it could only think of delicious roast chicken. Claws still sheathed, the Skitty leapt from the gutter and pounced onto Chronos.

{ } A pink feline Pokemon pounced upon the unsuspecting Hoothoot which took Chronos by surprise. Chronos would frantically try to shake off the bright pink cat Pokemon before he would quickly roll back to his trainer, and prop himself up. "Hoohoo! Hoothoot!" He squawked at the feline Pokemon in utter annoyance that it decided to pounce on him though naturally, cat-like Pokemon like this one were hunters for birds. The Pokedex resounded a little beep as it described what it was: "Skitty, the Kitten Pokémon. Skitty has the habit of becoming fascinated by moving objects and chasing them around. This Pokémon is known to chase after its own tail and become dizzy."Despite Skitty having such an odd fascination, she heard that many people have Skitty for a house pet though she was completely won over by Skitty's adorable looks. "Oh, a Skitty! How adorable! Chronos, start off with a Tackle attack!" The owl Pokemon flapped its stubby wings as he took off into the air and made an attempt to ram the feline Pokemon with his body weight. Steam of anger shot out in a comical fashion as he flew with an aggravated huff. Perhaps he was feeling threatened by this cute feline Pokemon, and imagined that it wouldn't come close to being her favorite. Since his inclusion, most of her other Pokemon welcomed him warmly, except Skadi who loudly protested about the Hoothoot's presence. His eternal rivalry with Sigurd meant that he also had to compete with the bird himself, but he would end up getting the cold shoulder no matter what. It was a one sided rivalry from Sigurd's perspective as he preferred to participate in no such things, but it did not stop Chronos with wanting to fight over meals at break time nor did he want his own rival to one up him either. Used Tail Whip! Hoothoot: -1 DEF ... Used Tackle! Rolling off the spherical bird the pink furred feline was quick to get back on its feet. Her back bristled as she eyed the two. Excitement from the trainer didn't help calm the prowling pokémon either. It was taking this rather seriously. It had to. Living off the streets it wasn't uncommon for it to be gained up on or shooed away. However, it wasn't oblivious to its adorable charms either. Skitty relaxed its posture and decided to work off of Amaryllis' excitement. The cat began swaying its tail back and forth cutely. Chronos blinked with slight confusion. A second ago the skitty was trying to scratch and bite but now it was playing? The brown feathered bird hooted happily. Play fight or no, he had been issued an order and was going to follow through with it.

{ } As the spring breeze blew through the brick streets of Cherrygrove, the two Pokemon were having a bit of fun in a not so serious battle. Chronos himself noticed that the bright pink cat Pokemon wasn't biting him or scratching him at all. She seemed content to just stand there and sway her tail back and forth like a metronome ticking along to the sounds of music. His red eyes followed the tail's movements with some fascination in between. Amaryllis noticed how confused her Hoothoot was, but why would Skitty not go for another attack at the small, brown bird? Chronos was unsure whether the pink, adorable cat was just playing with him or she was hiding how serious she wanted to be in battle. He thought to himself that maybe it was a play fight that the Skitty wanted, so he hooted in a much more excited manner. "Once more, Chronos! Use Tackle!" As the brown, spherical owl used his body to roll himself towards the Skitty in attempt to mimic a bowling ball striking at a pin. Once that was done, Chronos used his feet to prop himself up against the wall of a brick house while awaiting further commands. "One more time, go with another Tackle attack!" And there he was, the round owl propelled himself with his feet from the same wall of a house to roll again at the smiling feline Pokemon. Used Sing! Doesn't effect Chronos! Used Tackle! Critical Hit!Chronos: -1 DEF ... Used Tackle! x2 With the owl lured into a false sense of security the Skitty began enacting the rest of its cunning plan. Opening its maw the feline began meowing melodically. The tune was soft and soothing. A sense of calm overtook the area, drooping heavy over those that could hear the pink cat's song. All except Chronos of course. The owl just blinked. Ever alert. Skitty noticed the complete ineffectiveness and cut the music, staring blankly at the bird for a second before realizing its mistake. The cat turned feral. The nice-nice plan wasn't going to work so it would need to get its paws dirty. Chronos was already comically rolling its way over like a big feathery ball for it to play with. The hoothoot was too fast for Skitty to avoid so it let it come, not really worried about the ensuing damage if it was anything like the last hit. And now, with Chronos in such close range after his attack, the feline pounced. Claws and teeth the cat tackled into Chronos in a devastating fashion. It was all he could do to get another tackle off quick to push the cat off as best he could before it finished him. Skitty licked its claws, allowing the wounded bird to crawl back to his trainer. It watched hungrily. (( *Running Shoes Exhausted. Words added to egg))

{ } The lullaby that Skitty sung proved to be ineffective as Chronos' red eyes stayed alert through its tune, prompting the feline to suddenly have a shift in personality. Once the owl Pokemon managed to finish his first Tackle, he was also being rolled like a feathery ball for the Skitty to play with as he got dizzy for a moment before the wild Skitty itself turned into a feral Pokemon as it sunk its claws and teeth into the Hoothoot. Such a devastating blow earned a loud, blood-curdling squawk before he rolled back to Amaryllis in an gravely injured heap. This was not looking good for Chronos as the feral cat was watching him. Probably thinking about having its chicken roast dinner out of the bird, but she wasn't going to let this Skitty dine on her Hoothoot, no. As she would gently pick up the injured Hoothoot, she raised her concern with her own Pokemon. "Are you okay, Chronos? Let me save you the trouble, don't fight anymore." All Chronos could muster was a nod, albeit weakly now. After setting the injured Hoothoot down while he would prop himself up in a wobbly fashion, she procured a Great Ball out of her bag and tossed it at the Skitty. The ball flew true and hit the Skitty straight on the head. For the split second before the Skitty was sucked into the light it looked stunned. Then the Great Ball thudded to the ground and rolled once... twice... and stopped with a click. The Skitty was caught.
Chronos endured! He grows 3 levels and reaches lvl 9! He can learn Peck. Will he forget a move to learn it?

{ } Once the Skitty was finally caught, it would disappear in a white flash of light, indicating that it was sent to the PC. Chronos would shake the accumulated dirt off before hooting in satisfaction. At least, the Skitty herself wouldn't be near the owl Pokemon though there was still much to learn before mastering the art of birdkeeping. As the city streets seemed to fill up with people the more she walked, Chronos kept to her side as he took a look around. She would gently push and shove through the crowd as one might say she was in a hurry to get out of the streets and make her way to the next city. In any case, once she would get out into the corresponding route, all that was left was to continue on the path to the city itself. Perhaps there might be new and exciting prospects to consider while in Violet City though of course, there was the very first gym to consider tackling beforehand. The Hoothoot hopping beside her wasn't the least bit tired in his walk though he had managed to keep the egg safe along with Amy watching over it like a hawk. With the trials and tribulations ahead in the next city, the Violet City gym wasn't going to be easy.
