Escapades I find interesting for Martin's team and pokemon:
"A cat burglar is after a prized possession locked in a safe within a millionaire's mansion..." Cherrygrove, Palm Hills, lvl 5-12: Martin would be said cat burglar. The heist doesn't have to be succesful, and the Pokemon from Martin's team can go either way in trying to help him out or trying to 'dissuade' him from completing the task. His Gastly, Tergi(lvl 11), would be my first guess for a protagonist in it, but the Gardener-chu(lvl 5), Treecko(lvl 5), or Jack'o Boo(lvl 5) could be possibilities too.
Both of the Specials interest me too for Martin. I would like to try out the Sewaddle one (New Bark special) first, to get an idea of how to do it. Martin would again be a guest in it, since he would be hired to figure out how to get the Sewaddles away from people's gardens. If the lvl limit apply (same as New Bark 1-5) I would probably go with his Cacnea (lvl 4). If succesful in New Bark, I'm up for trying the Flabebe (Cherrygrove special) at some point
Sure thing. So there's not really a lvl requirement on the special scenarios..? I wasn't sure.
My main goal is to explore and develop the personality of my chosen Pokemon (no matter what we decide), so though I've thought about Cacnea for it, I'm kind of itching to get to know the Gardener-chu better, and it would be just as well a choice for it, I think. Did you have a Pokemon (of Lei's) in mind. And how much of a plot would you like from the get-go?
I must admit, I haven't thought on the plot much. I suppose there'll need to be a reason for the Sewaddles to be drawn there in the first place, and a solution in the end to make all parts happy (or most)
I can't find any at least so I think they have made it complete open. The requirements are for the writing and the team work rather than the pokemon level
Exploring personalities sounds wonderful! I just have so few ideas as they are more or less all still blank, so perhaps it will depend on the idea, or i could go With Flynn. He sounds fun.
I prefer a general/overall plot we're both working towards, or else I end up in corners too often, not sure where to take the story
Random ideas for the sewaddle and the reason they are there. 1. They have been forced from their home and tries to survive/force themselves into a new one. 2. Team Rocket has stolen a bunch of them and they have escaped but are frightened/confused with the possible TR still being after them. 3. A leader of the sewaddles has declared/convinced them that they are the rightful rulers of this place and that they are saving the town from evil by doing so. 4. There is a drought or they had got a huge clutch of babies, or a lot of sick friends, which need a lot of food: the easiest place to get it? In the gardens. 5. They are like that type of grasshopper which grows to an incredible number some years and are eating EVERYTHING on their way.
It's probably going to be rather cliche, but my mind seem to be most for the team rocket idea. It's the only one, where I can think of solution(s), that wouldn't cause too many problems in other places. I hope it will give us a reasonable simple or manageable storyline to work off.
Thinking about a 'team' some more, I've decided that the Gardener-chu (male), will be running around playing 'mom' for the Cacnea and the Sunkern, Flora. Will give me some dynamics to work with within Martin's Pokemon, but I'll keep it to those three with Gardener-chu as the main 'character'.
Have you narrowed down, what you wanted to participate with?
Well, the most important is to go with what you feel inspire you, and I'm certain we can make plenty of havoc with that plot, hehe.
So are we going with anonym/homemade TR grunts, or Jessie and James, or perhaps Cassidy and Butch? Did you have ideas for how to solve the problem that is caused? (There could both be sneaking in to destroy some sort of machine anime kind of way, or it could be rounding up all the sewaddles and get them to work together to throw out the bad guys?)
As for pokemon I have decided for going with torkoal who is going to be an old veteran, calculating, practical and probably pessimistisk, but full of knowledge of team work and how to handle situations. Castform is also going along but as "npc", mostly to get them to know each other and because I couldn't really decide (and that you are taking more than one). Castform is going to be Fishlegs in pokemonform, or a max, knows a lot of pokemon and is excited about learning more of types and ways of living and strengths and all that, hehe.
I believe anonymous Team Rocket grunts. That will give us the freedom to play more around with their personality too. However, since you did write 'possible' about them being around, they don't actually have to be present in the story. They are just the instigators for the situation. So whether there are team rockets about or not, the story could be played out.
I imagine the plot would follow a line something like this: 1. Our Pokemon is introduced to the current problem by some way or other 2. Our Pokemon investigate and/or figure out why there's a problem (interacting with Sewaddles and environment) 3. If team rocket are still around, they will either need to figure out how to expose the criminals, or stop them on their own. 4. When the situation is secure (no more Rockets), they'll help the Sewaddles find new homes or back to their old homes. (Or they'll watch the humans do the same)
If not the TR appears, then it doesn't have to be them but just some "bad guys" who has captured them, depending on if the sewaddles or other knows what have happened.
I think it sounds like we need to be clear if the rockets are appearing or not In my opinion it will be two quite different stories whether there are those to handle as well or not, and where the focus are.
Otherwise it sounds good what you are putting down there.
Okay, then let's say the bad guys/rockets is still around, and the main part of the story will be to stop them. Will it then be the Pokemon on their own who exposes the Rockets, or will they be part spectators guiding or guided by humans?
Hmm, well my pokemon is going to be there without a trainer so unless Martin is there and is guiding them, then I'd say they do it themselves. If they stop them also, or if they just expose them to other trainers for them to handle, will depend on the situation. It could also be a mix, that they get the town/trainers to handle most of the TR and then they are free themselves to go in and stop a machine or free the (re-)captured sewaddles.
