(New pokemon team: Tarok, Alabaster, Budew, Whisper and Eridanus. Self updated.)
Lei had been surprised when she had reached Cherrygrove, and saw it had snowed. She wasn't used to that happening other than if she was in the mountains, and it was weird to see it around here when it was so flat. If it was still here tomorrow it could affect her day, but today she wasn't planning on going anywhere, so she went straight to the pokemon center to book a room.
Not long after she was sitting and enjoying a meal while she was looking at her pokemon and tried to plan her next days, most of her current team had been sent to the boxes while she pondered on what to do. The door opened and worried voices cut through the general chatter and soon the air was thick with worry and tenseness, and upset exclamations was let out. Lei turned to figure out what was going on.
A man was standing in the middle of a group and asking for his son Jimmy, who was clearly well known and liked in this little town. "He wasn't home for dinner, which he always is, he knows the area and you know he usually don't explore far. I fear he has fallen and hurt his leg or something," the father said quietly and the others murmurred agreements. "I hope he hasn't run into the houndours," one commented loudly and a couple of the others groaned. "Don't start that again Stan, there are no houndours living in this area, and Jimmy is certainly clever enough to keep a distance," another interrupted annoyingly. The father's worry clearly took a turn for the worse, which Stan didn't notice. "But I say you, I know what I saw!" Stan protested and another one grabbed his arm and hissed something to him which Lei couldn't hear. She guessed it was something about making things worse for Jimmy's father as they kept looking at him, and neither said anything about houndours after that.
Lei looked out the window at the setting sun, while it hadn't been that cold it would be at nightfall and the sun had went down. If Jimmy were out there he'd probably be wet and soon cold, and that could give problems. She gulped down the rest of her food and strode to the door as the group discussed what would be the best course of action. "I'll take a look around for him," she informed and left before they got a chance to say anything. She didn't think about telling them she had a pokemon she could ride on, everyone had that back home. Lei knew what she would do and let Tarok out as soon as she was otu the door, and a moment after they were cantering to the edge of the town. She could cover a larger area while riding and the boy could get a ride home if needed. The town wasn't big so she left the searching of that to the others and focused on the wilderness around it.
Tarok was trotting in bigger and bigger circles around Cherrygrove as Lei scanned the area for clues, at least he was steady on his feet again. He had been awfully unsteady and had kept stumbling since the last battle, but now the poison was out of his veins and didn't affect him anymore.
Lei stopped Tarok abruptly and narrowed her eyes at a charred spot on the ground, with a lot of snow melted and several footprints leaving in a few directions. Lei was not skilled in tracking, but the snow helped her a lot as it made the prints easily seen and she could make out one set by a shoe. What all the other was she had no clue, and the only reason she knew this had to have happened recently was because it had snowed when she had arrived earlier today. "Seems like there is at least some fire type out here," Lei mumbled Lei and kicked Tarok into gallop along the tracks. They bursted into a clearing where Tarok made a sliding stop and Lei gaped as the three dark hounds, who was circling a tree, growling and once in a while trying to leap up the trunk. Something was hiding in the tree and Lei was happy the houndours either didn't think about trying to burn it down, or it was too wet for it to be possible.
"Hey! Get away from there!" Lei shouted and jumped off Tarok. She slapped his rear and ordered him forward, she thought for a moment and then her mudbray was joined by two other pokemon, a budew and an azurill. "Get them away from the tree! Tarok, Mud Shot! Whisper, Bubble! Budew, Water Sport!" She ordered harshly and the pokemon went into work. Lei watched as tarok prancing forward, making himself look big and threatening, he sent several kick of mud in their direction without trying to hit them as he attempted to herd them away from the tree. The two smaller pokemon shuffled after him, one on each side and partly hiding behind him. Budew filled the air with a mist of water, while Whisper of Rain waited until the right time to sent a few bubbles at one of the scary dogs.
"Anyone up there? Are you alright?" Lei called out towards the tree without taking her eyes on the battle.

The black canine Pokemon growled and barked at the tree. They each took turns, leaping at the mighty oak's trunk. Their long, sharp claws dug into the bark of the trees as they tried to reach the kid trapped, up high within it's branches. Small flames trickled in the large male Houndour's mouth, as if he were threatening to scorch the kid and the tree branches altogether. The smaller Hounder, a female with a small, barely noticeable scar over her right eye, barked furiously after Jimmy. Jimmy's Pokemon all bounced nervously near the edge of the pond. Azurill squeaked out, it's voice crying angrily at the dark fire type Pokemon. Terror froze the little mouse in its tracks, but a burning passion buried beneath the surface begged the normal fairy type baby Pokemon to chase after the three larger, bully dog Pokemon. Budew reached out to Azurill with it's vines, trying to warn and comfort the other Pokemon. Chingling floated up high above, nervous and unsure what it should do. Could it rescue Schoolboy Jimmy, and save him from the dangerous Houndour? Then, as if someone had heard their pleas and magically sent them a hero, another trainer had arrived with her Mudbray. The Houndour jumped back from the tree and spun around on their heels. Jimmy cried out from the top of the tree. "Uhhh..y-yeah. Ex-Excuse me?! HELP!" He called out in tears, his arms wrapped firmly around the thick branch that the boy clung to for dear life. He was too afraid to try to shimmy out of the tree. Jimmy wondered if he would have been stuck up there his whole life, if Lei hadn't of arrived with her Pokemon. The brown ground type donkey Pokemon was joined by two other Pokemon - another small blue mouse-like Pokemon, and another small, grass type Pokemon. "Dour, hound!" The large male Houndour growled, clawing at the earth as it prepared itself for a battle. "Houndour!" The smaller male Houndour warned the trainer, joining it's companion. The female Houndour paused, sizing up the battle carefully. It wasn't long before she would jump into the battle, however, as her two companions would bark and encourage her to help them whip this trainer and her Pokemon into shape. The female Houndour took a quick leap forward release a thick plume of foul-smelling gas. Attacking with Smog, she aimed to try and poison Whisper, dealing damage to Whisper. Tarok then attacked. Although his trainer called out a move that confused Tarok, it would instead attack with Mud-Slap. It kicked up some mud with it's hooves, tossing it at the smaller male Houndour with a powerful kick. Abyss growled defiantly, releasing a powerful puff of fire. It would shoot flaming Ember at the Mudbray angrily, hoping to burn the other Pokemon. The larger male Houndour howled, building up it's attack. Then Budew would attack, using Water Sport. It soaked itself in water, covering itself in water and drenching its entire body, including the vines it usually kept wrapped up on top of its head. It was a brave strategy, and would help to protect itself and it's allies from the Houndour's fire type blasts during the battle. Weather: <weather>Abyss ♂ | LV 10 | Flash Fire HP: 100% (32/32) Status: Normal Used Ember on Tarok! Havoc ♂ | LV 10 | Early Bird HP: 59% (19/32) Status: +1 Attack Used Howl! {Tarok was hit by Smog; Whisper was hit by Smog and poisoned; Havoc was hit by Smog; Abyss was hit by Mud-Slap and his accuracy was lowered! Abyss was hit by Bubble! Budew used Water Sport and lowered Fire Type moves by 50%;} {Since Tarok doesn't know Mud Shot, I went with him being a little "uhwa?" and using Mud-Slap! xD} {Headed to work now, I hope I did this one right. <3 }

It was easy to lure the dogs away from the tree, they quickly turned their attention away from whatever they were hunting up in the tree. Then it became rather confusing and for Tarok especially as he wasn't sure what it was Lei wanted him to do, it was something with mud so he threw some mud around and hoped for the best. Whisper stayed close and both coughed when the smog came rolling in, it was hard to say who took the brunt of it and who was mostly unaffected. Both still managed to launch their attacks and hit their target. Tarok winced when the fires hit him, they might not hurt him that much but it still hurt. The water Budew sent out afterwards did lille to soothe the pain, water was not a thing he liked. Whisper grinned a thanks back to the grass type before she turned her attention back to the battle. Lei frowned at the battle, oh how she wished she had some better pokemon with her, but had she known there would have been houndours our here, she would have brought something else along. She had only planned on Tarok as he could carry her fast as she looked for the missing boy, he'd better be in that tree so she wasn't stuck with this for nothing. "Tarok, Mud Slap that one again. Budew, Stun Spore on the big one, don't let it get to you," Lei snapped her orders and narrowed her eyes at her azurill. She had done a great job at hitting a far away houndour but she doubted Whisper could manage to do that again, it had gotten awfully far away by now. "Whisper, Bubble on the ones straight in front of you!" Lei ordered as it should be possible to get the two right in front of her. When she was certain the pokemon were in motion she made her way towards the tree, it should be safe enough now. "Hello? Are you alright up there? Can you get down?" She called up again, as the child clearly had been too scared to grasp what she had said. "Is it your pokemon at the water?" She called out and grimly thought she might need the help from some of them to win this battle. "Are you Jimmy by the way?" She added as she waited in the hope he could get down, or else she would try to find a way to help him.
(ooc: Caramell 🍬 hmm, there are some mistakes here. Tarok and Whisper is correctly attacking the same houndour, but it should have been the one at the left. Very few moves can target opponents that are opposite in a tripple battle like this and bubble certainly cannot ~I think you should just let it be as it is. no need to change it. I'm a bit confused about Mud-sport and Mud-slap as you wrote Tarok using both, it looks like it has been Mud-slap? I know I called a move he didn't know, I clearly mixed him up with Astrid's Marshtomp here Usually when the wrong move is called, we go with it is a missed one, so it is kind of you to let Tarok do something ^^ As for the last thing, from what I can gather Smog only hits one target, and especially not allies if not directly targeted ^^ The damage on Havoc, which must be from that, should be removed I think, and probably from either Whisper or Tarok. Not sure if Tarok's ability has been activated but it wont affect the battle much anyway. I assume that Huge Power has taken affect, has bubble hit more than one opponent? It can hit two, the ones adjacent to her, which would include the one in the middle.) Move used: Tarok: Mud Slap on Helena, Whisper Bubble on Helena and Havoc, Budew Stun Spore on Havoc.

The dark type canine Pokemon faced off with their opponents. They pulled their lips back to show off their sharp canine teeth. This trainer’s Pokemon was starting to crawl underneath their rough fur, and the fire breathing dark type Pokemon did not like that one bit. One Houndour barked at its companions, obviously shouting out orders to its troops. The other two smaller Houndour nodded, and slowly they flanked off to try and encircle their enemies within their trap. Jimmy shivered, clinging onto the branch as he crawled to sit properly on it within the tree. He knew that he could scurry down its thick tree trunk and help the other trainer out, but School Boy Jimmy was much too terrified to do anything. He would have to sit this one out, instead. What would his dad think of him, though, running from a Pokemon battle? This was why his father insisted that he stay in school for now. Dad’s right, I’m not ready to be a Pokemon Trainer! Jimmy thought, wiping a tear away from his eye. “A-Are you alrigh-alright?!” He called out to Leilani, trying to swallow back his tears. Meanwhile, Abyss moved in and gave a strong, nasty look to his opponents. He would Leer at Budew and Tarok, trying to unnerve them as he lowered their defenses. This would only help the pack’s ultimate goal – small moves as they worked together towards the ultimate goal. Helena released a loud, long, wailing Howl. She would crane her head back, lifting her muzzle up to the skies as she let out the long, singsong sound. This would help boost her attack, preparing Helena to launch her attack. Havoc – the one who was barking all the commands, moved in to release a power fume of smoke, but it backfired. Thought he aimed to use Smog, it completely failed as nothing was released, though it was evident that he was trying. Budew used that moment to release its paralyzing pores and attacked Havoc. While Havoc was having a difficult time, the spores made contact and paralyzed the pooch. He yelped, shrinking back with a bit of a stagger as the attack’s effected started to set in. Then Tarok would move in. The brown-and-creamed colored equine Pokemon kicked up some mud and flung it at his opponent, hitting Havoc squarely in the side and causing the Pokemon to squeal out. "M-my Pokemon!” Jimmy stuttered, as Lei’s words reminded him that they were probably trapped or in danger. “Y-Yes, those are my P-Pok-Pokem-mon in the in the w-wat-ter! Pl-please don’t tell m-my dad!” He seemed to beg out, too embarrassed by the entire thing. Whisper followed her companions' attacks up with a powerful Bubble attack, hitting Helena in the face and catching Havoc’s side. Helena stumbled a bit, that last blow really taking a toll out of her. She whimpered, trying to steady herself up for the fight. Perhaps, they were outnumbered? Should they tuck their tails in and run, before it was too late? Lei frowned as the hounds began to try circle her pokemon and forced them to back up against each other to avoid getting attacked from behind. The houndours was not stupid and certainly used to work in a pack, they worked well together. It could mean trouble for Lei, while Tarok would probably do fine, Whisper would find it harder to hit more than one of the opponents and where Budew had been clever enough to hide behind Tarok, she was in a risk now and Lei doubted she could handle any of the attacks she had seen until now. Lei had now time to wonder if the rest of her team could handle the fight or not, she would just have to try it out and hope for the best, but she was glad she at least has brought Tarok along. She didn't react on Jimmy's question to her well being, she was too concentrated on the battle, but she'd turn her attention to him as soon as it was possible.
Budew disappeared in a flash of light from her shivering spot pressed up against Whisper, and a chubby blu-ish pokemon took her spot. Alabaster took a few steps back in surprise as he came face to face with the brown side of Tarok and he turned to look around confused at what weird situation he was put into. "Whisper, Bubble the ones you can hit! Tarok, Mud-Slap that one to the far right who tries to get around you," Lei snapped her orders. Whisper jumped up and down on her tail, turning back and forth while sending out bubbles flying erratically in a widespread area, in her attempt to hit both houndours that was without range. Tarok didn't like facing off this many opponents and felt outnumbered and inexperienced, he was glad that Lei could tell him what to do as he would have gotten confused and panicked fast, had he been on his own. He had been scraping the dirt as preparation while trying to keep track of all three houndours, and as soon as he got his orders, he spun around and kicked out to sent what he had loosened at his assigned target.
Lei turned half her attention to Jimmy when her pokemon went into action, and asked her questions, of which only some got answered. "It's alright, don't worry. I'll get you out of here," Lei said professionally and if Jimmy knew about the ways some adults talked to kids, he would know she just said it to make him feel better. Lei felt secure she would get him out of this, but how and what price her pokemon had to pay was unknown. "So you are Jimmy?" She asked once again to get a confirmation and would wait until she got it before changing topics. "You father sounds worried about you, and I'm certain all he wants is to get you home safely," Lei added and glanced at where his pokemon were. "We better get you pokemon out here so we can keep an eye on them, and the houndours don't suddenly decide to gang up on them instead," Lei said and after a moment of thinking let out Budew once more. "Budew, go around and fetch the pokemon at the water and bring them here," Lei ordered and pointed, before she turned her attention back to the battle. "Can you get down on your own?" She would call up distractedly to Jimmy, it would be easier to make a run for it with him if was at her side.
Budew stared shocked at the other pokemon at the far side, and her eyes slowly turned to the battle still raging terrifying close. She gulped, they needed help and she had to help them, even though she was scared to death about walking out there all on her own. She more or less crawled through the grass and she froze every time she thought the houndours would notice her. It would take her a long time to get to Jimmy's pokemon.
(ooc: Alabaster switches in instead of Budew. Whisper uses Bubble on Helena and Havoc, Tarok uses Mud-Slap on Abyss) ~Was Whisper poisoned by the way? It says so in the notes from the first post, but her status is still normal and she hasn't gotten any damage from it in the last round at least.

BAM-BAM-BAM! Whisper's artillery spray was wild, erratic, and markedly rapid. They flew, humming, at the Houndour, a cloud of mid-air-floating mines -- and just as suddenly, they were exploding all around them. Havoc was able to withdraw, wimpering and snarling, but Helena was bruised, rendered off-balance. She took the brunt of Whisper's Bubble and toppled onto her flank. Havoc stands over her. Saliva turned to steam, gushing off of dripping fangs; the pack leader was slobbering with rage and insistence. Havoc snapped at what he could get ahold of Helena -- her ears stuck out around her skull plate; her muzzle. At first, she struggled to get up, but Havoc's madness sent Helena limping off and away from the battlefield. Maybe she would have been too exhausted to do otherwise; maybe it was for her own good. Finally, the mass Havoc had choked on before, a cloud of exhaust dislodged from his throat. The Smog filled the area where Whisper's bubbles had been. It spewed and it spewed, clearly making up for last time, dark as pitch and clearly noxious. It inundated Whisper; it clawed at her. And she would have no choice to inhale it. On the opposite side of the field, Tarok's attack hits home. Just as Abyss is leaping forward, jowls and claws extended mid-pounce -- RAM! -- grit sloughs over his chest. The Houndour grits his teeth, regains his balance, and backs down. Under the cover of Smog, Helena has abandoned. She can be spotted in the distance tending to her wounds. Havoc has taken her place, and the look on the canid's face is conflicted. It is clear the battle has gotten personal, but the fact they are outnumbered is more patent than before. Now with a Munchlax bumbling onto the field, he calls to his remaining reinforcement, something between a howl and a lashing-out. Abyss slinks back towards him; he sends a harsh look behind him, but his haunches are low. The two attempt to hide their wounds and likewise wounded prides as they recuperate and cast evaluative looks over their opponents. A pack of savage, inconsolable beasts, moments prior following no rules but their own -- now they looked unto a trainer and her team with a sense of self-awareness. All it took was a pinch of tactics and (Jimmy admitted to himself) a bunch of preparation. By now, the boy had swallowed back his tears. So this is what a trainer looks like...Jimmy mumbled dejectedly through most of what Lei said, even in regards to getting down. But then he noticed his rescuer's budew hobbling towards him-- though mostly just astray, frozen, in the grass. With the Houndour stopped in their analytic mood, they would no doubt notice her. Jimmy wasn't thinking about how quick they'd be to reach her versus how fast Leilani's Pokemon would react. He wasn't even thinking about getting down from the tree. But he was thinking about bravery. And he was awfully embarrassed still about being a hostage. "H-hey, you dumb mutts--!" His plan to divert their attention worked like a charm. The Houndour hauling around and promptly remembered him. They lunged at the trunk of the tree. They barked and they gnashed and they howled him into silence with licks of fire from their muzzles. Jimmy's Pokemon proved what help they'd be, sniveling amongst themselves. "Never mind!" Jimmy wailed. "Waaaaugh! I wanna go hoooome!" Whisper and Alabaster stared in horror at Havoc's treatment of his own pack member, Tarok noted it grimly but focused on the battle of hands. He had seen similar before although he had not been a part of the battle then, and he knew that if they wanted to avoid a worse fate, then they would need to win. Whisper was frozen in fear from the brutal display but Tarok managed to hit Abyss with his mud, which also pulled Alabaster together and he focused on the battle. The only one keeping a bit of an eye on Helena was Lei, who kept glancing at her direction to be sure she wasn't going to run around and attack them from behind.
A couple of flashes and Whisper disappeared only to be replaced with a tiny pokemon looking to not being fully out his shell yet. Tarok didn't feel encouraged by it and felt that he battle laid mostly on his shoulders, it was tough when he wasn't used to battle. He was second questioning his wishes in the early days, when he was simply Lei's mount on her treks around Alola's islands, where he had watched tons of battle and hoped to be a part of the action, instead of standing bored at the sideline and just watch. You have to be careful what you wish for, he thought grimly, if this was how all battles were, he probably do without. "Mud Slap again Tarok, same target. Alabaster, Tackle the same houndour as Tarok!" Lei's voice cut through and Tarok kicked out sending another batch of mud flying. Alabaster hesitated only a moment and then ran towards Abyss in a rather slow wobbling run. "Hey! What's going on? What is this awfully smelling place?" A voice piped up disgusted but Tarok and Alabaster ignored it in favor of the threat present in front of them.
Lei shared her attention between the battle and the retreating single houndour, Timmy didn't really answer her questions anyway, nor made any attempt to get down from the damn tree. The situation was frustrating and the only good part was that her pokemon had finally managed to get one of the houndours to retreat, it had taken its toll on Whisper, who didn't look good and Lei knew she couldn't hold out much longer. She recalled her and released her only remaining pokemon: Eridanus, a special breed of togepi who had never tried to battle before but she hoped he could at least survive enough attack until the others took down the remaining houndours.
"Hurry up Budew!" Lei called out, she wanted Timmy's pokemon to be near if she needed their help, a little was better than nothing. Jimmy suddenly decided that the budew walking away from them and towards his pokemon who was stnading a little way off, and he shouted to get their attention. Unfortunately for Lei it worked. "Hey!" She protested as she was standing close to the tree he was trapped in, she had gotten her pokemon to lure the hounds away for that exact reason. She backed off quickly and shouted her orders to her pokemon in the hope that the houndours wouldn't turn on her! They seemed to work as they were more interested in Jimmy for some weird reason, and soon mud was flying and Alabaster was slowly making his way towards the rabid dogs.
"That's what I'm trying to do!" Lei shouted furiously at Jimmy. "If you just listened and used your brain to get down from that tree when I told you to, instead of putting me in danger as well, that would be splendid!" She snarled at him, he had really given her a scare, she hadn't been blind to how cruel these opponents could be. "It's a bit hard to get you away when you keep blocking your own escape route by stupidity, now since you can actually use your voice then call your darn pokemon over here so they can help me kick these hell hounds butt!" Lei half shouted furiously at the boy.
Budew had been hurrying towards the other pokemon but paused when Jimmy had shouted, she glanced back as she knew that voice everywhere. She hesitated and then hurried towards the other pokemon, her eyes widened when she recognized them. "He.. hey," she greeted a bit uncertain and then pulled herself together. "We need to help Jimmy, come on! We're not alone anymore, we can do this!" Budew said encouragingly and would lead the way back towards Lei. She would be in deep thought, since now she thought back she thought that Whisper had seemed a bit familiar, although she hadn't had the time to think about it in the heat of battle. If she was really who Budew thought she was, then it would really be a strange coincidence that they would all here today.
Wordcount: 816 (ooc: Eridanus switches in instead of Whisper, Tarok used Mud Slap on Abyss, Alabaster uses Tackle on Abyss. Yes, I'm making it canon that Budew and Whisper has formerly been Jimmy's (since he is their OT), that's one reason for why I wanted to bring them along ^^)
~It's fine about not noting down the Lucky Egg, isn't going to affect anything before the battle ends, so it would mostly be to help remind the one going to update in the end, that it exist ^^
Pokemon notes: Budew: Hp 100%, switched out, wasn't present at any fainting. Whisper: HP 6/33(18%), poisoned. Present at Helena's fainting. Tarok: (HP to change due to him still battling), present at Helena's fainting. Alabaster: (HP? Still battling), Present for Helena's fainting. Eridanus: (HP? Still battling)

Large furred paws crossed their marks in sandy tracks on the ground around the greyish-brown bark of the tree. High in the canopy above, the small young boy’s shaky arms clung to the thick branch. Leaves jutted out in all directions, with small branches scratching at the schoolboy’s outfit as he shook and shivered in the treetop above. His tears ran down his cheek, and their salty touch seemed to sting as he cried inconsolably. “I WANNA GO HOME!” Little Jimmy’s voice wailed at the top of his lungs. Whatever bit of sanity he had clung to earlier had promptly vanished. “DADDYYY! I WANNA GO HOME!” He repeated, a whirlwind of emotions tied up in his chest. This girl was incredibly too mean to him – though she was truthful and honest – and these black fire dogs were way too scary. The Houndour pulled off, their nails scraping deep markings in the bark as they pulled away and landed on the soles of their feet. They spun around. The two hell-hound barked and growled back and forth in quick, resolute conversation. No doubt, the two fire beasts were working out their next plan of attack. The tiny water mouse disappeared from the battlefield, and a new Pokemon took shape in its place. A cautious glance at the retreating blue figure, but with a stern growl Abyss would refocus his gaze back onto his true opponents. They flanked on either side of the field, circling their opponent like prey. In truth, they were almost herding them slowly inward, as they moved steadily closer. Abyss pulled her head back. With his snout craned up towards the wide open blue skies above, he parted her jaws. The air filled with a loud, soulful and chilling howl. He sung the lyrics at the top of his voice, reassuring herself as he howled, and preparing himself for the next onslaught of attacks. This trainer would not take his pack-mates down so easily! Jimmy’s Pokemon shuffled through the water to its edge, and slowly ambled back to the battlefield. Though the two old faces reconciled with their old partner as they conversed together about the details of the fight. The chingling floated up and down on the gentle breeze, but chimed nervously. What would happen to them?! To its trainer?! “I’LL WON’T PLAY IN THE WOODS NO MORE! PLEAASEEE DADDYYY!” The shuffling of hands through the treetops was a sign that the lad was trying to climb down. As soon as the pups were far enough from the tree, he would plop on his two legs. Wobbly, Jimmy stood like a shaking leaf. In an instance, all thought and calmness deviated and he dashed over to the screaming, angry, big mean female trainer. He rubbed his eyes with his hands as he tried to calm himself down. To no avail. Little Jimmy would cry on, loudly and noisily so. Powerful hind kicks of mud splashed and struck Abyss dead center in his side. Before he even had time to react, the weighted baby Pokemon came barreling full-force and knocked himself into the Houndour, sending the Pokemon toppling over and into the grass. His partner craned its head back and howled. Though brave and loud, and able to help empower the beast, his lyrics were just a bit tapered and wavering. Unlike Abyss, Havoc had some deeply seated concerns at just how well the battle was truly going. Things weren’t looking good when they had a pack-mate retreat from the battlefield. As soon as Jimmy joined her, Lei would put an arm around his shoulders and pull him close, keeping herself between him and the dogs. "It's alright, I'm here and I'll protect you, don't worry. I'm sorry I shouted at you but you gave me quite a scare and I was worried about you," Lei reassured him quietly, keeping her eyes on the battling pokemon. He had scared and frustrated her before but there was no reason to scold him now he was doing as she had asked him. "It was brave of you to trust me and come here, don't worry I'll get us out of this mess and I'll teach those dogs a lesson that they'll never forget," Lei continued to babble on in an attempt to calm the boy. She hadn't had to do it in such serious situation like this before but she had had plenty of kids on her hands, who were bawling their eyes out because they had lost their mommy. "Look, we have the same kind of pokemon! A budew and an azurill," Lei added in an attempt to distract him from what he feared and she let out Whisper again, who didn't look well. The azurill turned to look at Jimmy and crossed her eyes as she tried to see through the blurry caused by the poison, she didn't believe her eyes and blinked several times. It couldn't be her old trainer suddenly standing in front of her crying. The houndours began to circle Lei's pokemon and they clustered together trying to stay back-to-back, which was hard considered their different heights and builds. Eridanus took a deep breath and stretched as far as he could, which wasn't much in a very much failed attempt to look important and impressive. "Do you know who I am?!" He asked theoretically and continued while waggling a finger at them, "I'll teach you to show some respect for the nobles that are better than you."[/b] Lei narrowed her eyes at what her togepi was doing, it looked familiar. "Metronome?!" She gasped as she realized what was going on, Alabaster lightened up as he knew that move as well and happily accommodated that 'order'. "Wait..?" Lei began but it was too late, both pokemon was wiggling their fingers furiously and there was no way of telling what would happen. "Tarok! Mud-Slap on the same houndour as last!" She ordered urgently and began to lead Jimmy further away. Whisper staggered after them, still trying to figure out if she was seeing a mirage or not. "We're going to give them a bit of space, I don't know if you know the move Metronome?" She asked Jimmy lightly still trying to reassure him it was not as bad as it looked. Budew joined them, hopefully with Jimmy's pokemon and the grass type looked worried at Whisper but she didn't have any ways of helping. "Do you think any of your pokemon would be able to help me out here?" Lei asked Jimmy and studied his pokemon as she tried to guess how trained in battle they were, she doubted it was much. The young schoolboy rubbed his eyes with his hands balled up into small fists. Jimmy was rubbing away the tears too hard, and his eyes started to hurt a little from where he was rubbing them. He pulled his hands away to look up at the taller and older woman, tears still glimmering in the corners of his eyes. She was pretty mean, but she also offered him protection. ”Sometimes I may seem mean,” Little Jimmy replayed a memory in his mind of his father, after scolding him for running off into the words, “But it’s because I love you and want to keep you safe. You’ll understand one day.” She was just trying to protect him too, just like his daddy? “Y-You promise?” He sniffled, soft and meek unlike his original, loud wailing before. Two Pokemon came bounding up to his sides. A small, blue water rodent and a small, green grassy bud. His Buew and his Azurill finally moved away from the water’s edge to check on him. He stared down at them for just a second, before he collapsed onto his knees and pulled them close to him. Jimmy hugged his Pokemon as tight as he possibly could, and a few happy tears slipped from the corners of his eyes. “I’m so glad you’re ok!” He cried, overwhelmed by the mixture of sadness, happiness, and terrified emotions that flooded through him. Meanwhile, Havoc and Abyss kept circling their prey. Havoc leaped forward and tried to release another pile fumes and smoke. He shook his body and growled softly underneath his breath, and only caused a very small puff of smog – nowhere near what he needed to be able to actually attack with. Just as quickly as the puff appeared, it disappeared. Luckily, his friend moved in, leaping by his side and shooting out a decently sized ball of flaming embers at Alabaster. Little Jimmy turned to Lei curiously as she released her Azurill. As he studied the poor little creature, he gasped worriedly. It must have been those evil dark dogs that hurt the poor little Pokemon so! “You poor thing….Wait…!” As he knelt down and leaned in close to the other Pokemon, something dawned like a light inside his head. “Ma’am, how did you get this Azurill?” He asked incredulously. This was his old friend, before he had given it to a new home! Tarok kicked up some muddy dirt and kicked it at Abyss. The hound yelped out as the mud caught it directly on the snout. Abyss shook his head and clawed at the sides of his jaws, trying to free the dirt and mud off of his face. He raised his hackles and growled threateningly at the trainer’s Pokemon. Eridanus kicked up specialized mud and hitting Havoc directly on his side. It woul clear his stats, resetting them to normal, but also caused the Pokemon to fall to the ground and faint. Whimpering, the Dark type canine would crawl away to lick at his wounds as well. Chingling floated up above Jimmy and Lei, murmuring worriedly underneath its breath. “I-I think my Chingling could help out! Ma-Maybe even Azurill, it knows Water Gun! But none of them have r-really had a real battle.” He blustered and scratched the back of his head. A little embarrassed, he lowered his eyes to the ground and kicked at the ground. “I promise! I’ll give it my best shot!” He stated, halfway confidently, as he glanced back up. No, what did his dad say? ”Trust in your Pokemon’s abilities, Jimmy. You’ve got to learn to believe in them.” “You want our help somewhere else...or, you want Chingling to help in battle?”Finally, Alabaster would use Metronome. He used sharpened leaves that he summoned and shot at Abyss. Each leaf cut and sliced at the duel type dark and fire dog. It yelped, and failed as it tried to dodge the leaves. Each way it tried to move, Abyss would only get cut up more by the leaves. Weather: ClearAbyss ♂ | LV 10 | Flash Fire HP: 21% (5/32) Status: -2 Acc; +1 Atk Uses Howl and increases attack. "Of course, that is why I went out looking for you," Lei said warmly to the boy and added, "your father must love you a lot, he is really worried." Lei glanced down when Jimmy crouched to pull two of his pokemon near, looked like he had favorites but kids usually had that. He looked like he was going to stay and stay close so she turned her attention to the battle and was both relieved that the two metronomes didn't call a huge tsunami or earthquake although what it did call out was rather disappointing. Lei was certain that Eridanus only managed to knock out that houndour because it was already weakened, she would be even more disappointed later on, when Tarok and Alabaster didn't manage to knock out the other one even though they were two against one.
"Hmm?" Lei said distracted, "I bought her, and Budew too. Both from different trainers who focused on specific types which was why they sold them, why they had gotten them in the first place I don't know. It wasn't like they wanted much for them either. Why?" Lei would only glance briefly down at him before turning her attention fully to the battle while Whisper looked in a sad confusion between Jimmy and the unknown azurill and budew, who was in his arms. Budew inched closer as she recognized Jimmy but was uncertain if he could recognize her as well, if he did she would quickly run into his arms to get a hug. Whisper would take a hesitant step away from him, if he offered her a hug.
Lei cast a quick glance at Jimmy's pokemon and narrowed her eyes at the remaining houndour, her pokemon probably could handle it by themselves but with how useless and unpredictable Eridanus would be by only being able to use Metronome, everything would be better and she'd like a backup. "I'd like if you chingling would go in instead of my togepi, I fear he could make more damage than good with that metronome of his," Lei said, while the chingling didn't look impressive at all it looked more promising than the two pokemon in his arms whom she expected would turn tail a flee again, the moment they faced the hounds. "What did you say it was called again? Ling? Alright," Lei suppressed the urge to grimace at the uncreative name of the chingling but it was what it was. "Ling? Listen, I'd like you to join my two pokemon, for now just keep an eye out and be ready to help them if needed, okay? Then go!" Lei ordered more kindly than she usually did to her own pokemon, but Ling wasn't hers, as soon as the chingling moved out to join Tarok and Alabaster, Lei recalled Eridanus.
"Hang in there guys! Tarok, another round of Mud-Slap, Alabaster, Tackle! And stay with tackling!" Lei ordered and the munchlax looked back confused as Tarok once again kicked some mud loose to send towards Abyss. Alabaster didn't understand why Lei sounded like she was displeased with his last move, hadn't she ordered it herself? He shrugged and turned to wobble towards his target in his slow version of a tackle.

If Lei had been looking at Jimmy as she explained where Whisper and Budew had come from, she would see a look of utter confusion run across his face. His eyes went to Budew, when she pointed it out, and the recognition dawned on him more fully, as she ran into his arms. He sat there, still crying silently from all the terror he had been through, and felt comforted by the Pokemon, though confused sadness battled against the relief of being safe, as Whisper pulled away from his outstretched hand. "I didn't know where you had gone." he whispered to the Budew and more distant Whisper. The other Azurill and Budew in his arms looked even more confused, and somehow innocent compared to Whisper and now Lei's Budew. He tried rubbing his eyes again, remembering too late that the action hurt. To Lei he finally said: "They used to be mine. They were just gone one day I got home from school." He went for a third eye rub, flinched belatedly and got up after a last tender pat to Budew. No matter how scared or confused, he had to help however he could. He willingly gave Chingling's name when asked, and nodded in trepidation to the floating bell, as a way of telling it, that it was okay to do as Lei asked. The Chingling followed Lei's command with a small chime, though it was hard to tell what it was thinking about all this. The remaining Houndour was rumbling deep in his stomach, but despite his fellows retreat he wasn't ready to give in just yet. He fired a set of blistering embers in Tarok's direction, and hit him good just as the Chingling had joined their ranks. Tarok's retaliating mud-slap splattered the Houndour across his already scratched up side, and he yowled in pain and hurriedly joined the other two in retreat. Abyss had finally had enough. The three hounds shot eachother a look, and without seemingly having discussed it, they each ran a different way away from the battle field. As soon the Houndour had disappeared between the trees, Jimmy allowed himself a cheer, and he let his Azurill and Budew down to catch Lei in an embrace of thankful blubber. He pulled away after a moment, sniffed and thanked her more politely. "I-I don't know how to thank you for rescuing me. You really saved my life." He was looking to his Pokemon huddling together at his feet, and the Chingling floating back to him, chiming softly along the way. In the end he got an idea and reached in to his pocket. "It isn't much, but it might be helpful." What he held out to Lei was a small bell, not unlike the Chingling but silver in colour. "It calms Pokemon down, when they are holding it." he explained, like he wasn't certain Lei would know about it. "And.. and you can have Ling too. It's probably much safer with you. It can grow strong. Ling used to play with your Budew and Azurill all the time." Quest: Battling three Houndours>Abyss used Ember on Tarok. Tarok used Mud-slap. "Oh? What a coincidence," Lei commented to learn that two of her pokemon had once belonged to the boy she was rescuing. She didn't pay it much attention at the moment though, as the houndours was still there, and posed a thread, albeit a lesser one now.
When the last houndour gave up Lei was pleased, but it changed quickly when they all turned tail and fled, and in different directions! She did not participate in Jimmy's cheering, she had[/d] to track them down to avoid them threatening others in the area and this was not making it any easier! She was certain that if she had had a more powerful team they would have beaten the houndour so much they wouldn't have been able to move much afterwards, instead of this where they were just discouraged for a bit. First thing first though, she turned to Jimmy.
The boy thanked her and told her a bit about her pokemon's background, Lei smiled and had a look of interest to please him. "That sounds wonderful, it would be a shame to part them then, wouldn't it?" She said gently as she accepted the gifts. "It looks just like him!" She added as she compared the bell with the chingling, and gave it to him to hold. Hopefully that would help Ling to calm down, should he be upset having to part with Jimmy. "I'm glad I could help you, but I'm not done yet as I need to find the houndours and make sure they do no more harm," she explained slowly to Jimmy to be sure he understood. "Can you find your way home on your own? I know they are worried about you and are looking," Lei asked and hoped it was so, she would lose even more time if she had to lead him home first.
While Jimmy made up his mind Lei turned to her pokemon and quickly found and thrust a galette into Whisper's mouth. "Here, eat this. It will make you feel better," she told the azurill who started to slowly munch on it. She didn't really want to as she was not hungry at all, just felt nausea. Lei went through the other pokemon, Budew and Alabaster was well enough for her to just recall. Tarok was limping rather badly and she applied a potion to him, she needed him to carry her should she have any chance of catching up with the dogs. Eridanus should used a tm on, the dazzling gleam to be exact as she wanted him to be useful and able to do something else than Metronome. As soon as he had learned it he was returned to his pokeball. Then she returned to Whisper who had finished her galette and grinned happily up to her, feeling much better. "Good," Aglaia said and then applied another potion to help with her feeling of exhausting, "time for you to rest a bit," Lei added and recalled the azurill as well.
"Alright Jimmy, are you ready to go home?" Lei asked cheerfully and then pointed as she saw people coming out from the trees. "Look! I said they had been looking for you. I'll be going then, I have some dogs to catch up with!" Lei declared and wink as goodbye and gave him a wave.
The path closest to her was the one to the right so Lei directed Tarok in that direction and kicked him into a gallop. "Keep up Ling! I need you to tell me if you sense the houndours," She called out to the chingling, who did his best to keep up with the mudbray. The path turned into a dirt road and Lei wondered why the houndour had chosen this way, or if she had missed it leaving it and running in another direction.

The smaller black canine with a red snout and underbelly, and grey bone-line armor structures along his back, around his ankles, and on the crown of his head, ran off through the forested region. Although the small canine’s tracks started along the right path, they took a severe dip through the trees along the path. If Leilani and her team were quick and careful, they would be able to follow the Houndour’s tracks. Being a bit clumsier than most truly wild animals, the Houndour both jumped over large, felled trees, and pushed past several smaller vines and entangled limbs along the way. This would cause small tears and breaks in the vines and branches that the clumsy fire canine bullied his way through, creating a marked trail of where the creature had gone. The fire Pokemon was running back home to its owner just past the trail. It should be about dinner time by now, anyways! A lonely farmer would be waiting on his large plot of land, at the end of the road.
Jimmy jumped up and down, overly enthusiastic about Lei’s offer and acceptance to take the other Pokemon. He held the Pokeball and the charm for a second, as he turned to the Chingling and stared up at his friend. The small golden sentient bell’s tiny black eyes held it’s soon-to-be old trainer in their sights, and sadness seemed to decorate their expression. Tears welled up in the young schoolboy’s eyes, as well. “Aw, c’mon Ling!” He bawled, sad to see the Chingling go but overjoyed to find such an amazing trainer to take the Pokemon. “Don’t give me that look. You need to go. You’ll become big an’ strong with her.”
Chingling bobbed and weaved up in the air currents as it turned its entire body to look from trainer to trainer. The small lad’s younger age and height was noticeable against Leilani’s height and age. While he may have been a few feet just sprouted out of the ground himself, Leilani appeared to be at least a foot taller, and somewhere around her late twenties – although it was possible she could have just reached her thirties. He had to crane his head up just to stare up at the older woman’s face, as he held the Pokeball and the charm out with his shaking hands. Ling floated over to Whisper and Budew, leaving her old home and joining her old friends. “I know you’ll take good care of Ling. She’ll get all the training she needs.” Jimmy slowly cheered up, as he wiped the tears away from his eyes. “That’s why….why I’m crying. I’m just so happy you’ll take her!” He explained to Lei.
Jimmy turned his head to glance in the directions that all the Houndour ran off. What a trail to find! They each had darted along so many different types of path, how was this helpful lady ever going to keep up with them all? It overwhelmed the schoolboy, as he tried to picture being 3 separate people, each trying to take a different path to keep up with the Houndour. No thank you! “But, they’re all on different paths. How will you ever keep up?” He pointed out. “I know the way home from here!” Jimmy answered her question as quick as a whip! He only needed to follow the large, winding trail that led back to the town. He shouldn’t get too lost trying to go home if he did that.
But it didn’t seem to matter, anyways. Soon, several townsfolks of varying sizes and ages swooped in on the lad. “Jimmy, you gave us quite a scare!” An older woman with deeply set wrinkles, similar to the aging bark of a tree, scolded the young lad. He placed his hands behind his back and kicked idly at the ground as his gaze shifted to the dirt earth beneath his feet. He felt bad for scaring them all like that. After all of the times that they had warned him not to run off, too! “Your father was worried sick youngin’, and couldn’t hardly focus on any of his work!” A tall, dark haired man scolded from within the crowd. He pushed his way through to stand by Jimmy. Jimmy explained to them about the Houndours, how they chased him up a tree, and how Leilani had to come to his rescue.
The older lady turned her head to Leilani and shot out a, “Thank you for your help, miss!” Before she started to scold the boy for his wild imagination. Slowly, but surely, they would bid their farewells and lead Schoolboy Jimmy back up to the town and to safety. Jimmy’s uncle, a big burly older man with a balding hairline, walked over to Leilani and held out his hand for a firm handshake. “I cannot thank you ‘nough for savin’ my nephew, lass.” He informed her with a huge smile that just seemed to mask the worry and anxiety he must have felt earlier. “Jus’ wha’ happen’ out here? He keeps goin’ on an’ on ‘bout these ‘dours. But we tries tellin’ him ain’t no ‘dours out in these woods. Kids got a big sort of ‘magination I guess.”
Notes: Your notes states +1 for LV for Whisper for the Lumiose Galette. The only record I find on it is, "Lumiose City's speciality. Cures all non-volatile status conditions and confusion, and raises Happiness +1." Am I missing something, or should her Happiness get a +1 and not her Level?

Lei was busy handling her pokemon to pay much attention to what Jimmy blabbered about to his pokemon and said his goodbyes. She smiled reserved to him when he declared that he was bawling because he was happy and that he really wanted her to bring Ling along with her. She went to Tarok's side and patted his back while looking confidently at Jimmy. "See this one? He is a bred runner and while the dogs are fast now, they get tired. Tarok can continue for hours so we'll catch up in the end, they can run but they cannot hide," she told him while Tarok snorted and bend his neck to look impressive, just as he had been taught. Lei didn't bother try explaining the kid about tracking and that she too was uncertain if they had gotten too much of a head start. She was certain she could catch up, if she could just find their path, but hopefully Ling could help with that, and if nothing else then by looking from above. No matter what, she was in a hurry as she was mounted and ready to start the chase when the adults flocked her and Jimmy to scold him and thank her. She fidgeted impatiently, she was loosing time!
"Don't worry about it, and I apologize but I have some houndurs I need to track down," She interrupted and then looked sternly at the adults, "you better keep your kids indoors for now, since Jimmy isn't lying this time, I have just battled three of the dogs who had trapped in that tree. I need to find them and stop them!" She didn't wait for their reaction but kicked Tarok into a gallop and raced off.
Lei had slowed Tarok down to a trot as they followed the dirt road, she found it weird that a wild pokemon should choose such place but it if it wasn't scared of humans then it wouldn't shy away from running along a road. Ling hadn't been much of a help as the chingling hadn't much experience with searching for other pokemon with his psychic abilities but he now knew the feeling of the houndours and he had checked once in a while that he couldn't feel its present around them in the forest.
The trees thinned and opened up for wide fields which was grene with the fresh sprouts now it was spring. A farm was laying in the middle of it all and the road lead straight to it. Lei sighed, either someone there knew something or had pokemon that could help her, or she would have to give up already. She nudged Tarok into a canter and they quickly reached the farm. "Hello? Anybody here?" Lei called as Tarok carried her into the courtyard in a calm walk. "I'm looking for a houndour who has been running in this direction," she added.
(ooc: I meant Happiness, and somehow just got it confused with the birthday cake, which I had originally planned to use, until I discovered that Lei doesn't have any and it wouldn't help on the poison either, hehe)
