The road from New Bark Town to Cherrygrove City was not a far one at all. Essence had managed to make it to the next city without any major issues. The aspiring researcher and potential Team Rocket member had decided to head to the next area in hopes of conducting an intense training session with her Pokemon team, after almost being defeated by a rude ginger-haired male back in New Bark Town. She had stolen a pair of running shoes from a kind old man with the help of her unique Rowlet, Hedwig, who she had stolen from traveling trainer. Surprisingly, Hedwig did not seem to mind that she had been taken away from her old trainer. Perhaps, the grass and flying-type Pokemon did not have too much respectful for her former trainer. The old lady was not an experienced Pokemon trainer by any means despite her age. Therefore, it was not like she was able to help Hedwig go stronger. Essence did not only steal one new team member, but she had also stolen a mischievous Seviper from a skater boy and a mysterious dark purple Pokemon Egg from a naive Pokemon Breeder. Essence's stronger desire to become stronger bypassed any other goals at this point and she refused to settle for less than being a powerful trainer even if that means she has to steal others. However, today she did not want to focus on stealing or wrecking too much havoc on others. She simply just wanted to train her new Pokemon before heading towards the next year where she would be facing off against her first gym leader within the Johto Region.
Essence carefully slowed down her motorcycle before hopping out of it and turning her attention towards the black leather bag placed on the back of her bike. "Thanks for protecting it," Essence spoke softly as she reached out to give Brinley a small pat on her head before grabbing the leather bag. She would then carefully removed the Pokemon egg from it. The Fennekin let out a soft growl before leaping down from the bike and landing onto the ground in a graceful manner. "Let's get this training session started, we have a long way to go before we can face off against a gym leader." She stated, turning her attention away from her Pokemon and shifting her attention towards the grassy route. She hugged her Pokemon Egg rather tightly as she wanted for a Wild Pokemon or wondering trainer to approach them.

Essence surely had chosen a day that would give her som extra challenge to her training. It might not have been that obvious while she was driving, especially not if she had used a helmet with a visor but dust whirled around and stung in the face and any bare unprotected skin. It was exhausting to be in, surely it would train both pokemon and trainer's endurance and that would be perfect for someone who wasn't just training for fun, right? For some the weather was perfect for training for others it was just an unlucky thing they would have to deal with while doing what they needed to do. For the chatots that was flying from tree to tree it was the latter. There were a small group of the talking birds living in the area and they were held in high regard of all other chatots for their skill of chatting and mimicking. They were the top of the top and the highest a chatot could reach was to get accepted into this group. It was a privilege and it had its perks but they were also the one stepping in and helping the rest of the chatots if they needed it. Today was a big day for an aspirering chatot, it had trained a lot and it had impressed enough for it to be assessed by the group. Today it was the final and last one, if it passed this one it was getting accepted into the exclusive club and nothing, not even a sandstorm was going to keep it from achieving its goal. The chatots landed in a tree and looked at a human who was conversation with what to them looked a bit like a yellow meowth with a lot of extra hair in its ears. The leader of the group pointed with a wing towards the human and the one being assessed swallowed and soared down to land on top of the handle of Essence motorcycle. It shook its feathers and then began to mimic the sound of a motorcycle it had just heard, starting with it low to make it sound like it was approaching. When it was loud it made the screeching sound of brakes and then added some impatient honking. If Essense hadn't seen it, it would sound like another motorcycle had arrived and that she was in the way of it. Chatot [lvl 8] is here for its final exam. A swift breeze of dusty wind quickly whipped around Essence's body, causing the young lady to curse underneath her breath. "What the hell is this? I didn't know that the Johto Region had dust storms like this. This might make our training session a little bit more challenging, but that's what we need. We have to be prepared for anything." She spoke under her breath a bit as she pulled the dark, purple egg a little closer towards her body. Brinley nodded her head in agreement as she moved more towards her trainer. It was time to do some hardcore training.
Essence's keen ears soon noticed the sound of what she believed to be another motorcycle approaching them from the distance that would be growing closer to her within a few seconds. The dark-haired female shifted her attention into the direction of where the noise seemed to have been coming from at the time. Her chocolate brown eyes narrowed a bit as she continued to stare off into the distance, but still not seeing an approaching motorcycle. "Wh-what in the hell is going on here? I know that I can't be bugging out right now. I hear another motorcycle, but I am not seeing another one. I know that it is not my bike or is it?" She spoke out loudly as she walked towards her motorcycle. It was not until she had walked a little bit closer to her bike that she had noticed a Wild Chatot perking on the handles of her motorcycle. "Oh... It's just a silly little Chatot. Hey Chatot, get your talons off my bike! Brinley go take care of that Chatot and be careful not to damage my bike!" She ordered her Pokemon.
A cunning smirk curved against the fire fox's mouth as she dashed towards the Chatot with her sharp claws glowing with a mystical white light. She would watch the Chatot quite carefully as she attempted to slice and dice it with her piercing claws without getting too distracted by the dust dancing with the wind.

Chatot's feelings were hurt a bit when Essence made it seem like it was not a very special Pokemon and it wasn't long before it got the idea to show her just how strong a Chatot could be when it was angry. As the bird saw Brinley approach it started to hop towards the fox believing it could trick the fiery fox into thinking it wasn't as fast as one would think. The trick seemed to work as when Brinley was within striking distance of Chatot the bird suddenly sprung into action before the fox could react and pecked her right in the forehead causing considerable damage. By getting so close however Chatot remained in range of her claws as she unleashed a scratch of her own causing moderate damage. Neither Pokemon had quite scored a decisive blow yet but as the sandstorm continued to blow and sap the health of both Pokemon Chatot seemed to be in slightly better shape and to take advantage of that the bird Pokemon made a beeline charge for Brinley's forehead again with its beak. The second peck attack was slightly more powerful however the stubborn fox was not ready to give in as she scratched the unlucky Chatot again as the rest of its flock started to mock the bird poor evasion abilities. Even when being made fun of the Chatot had proved its point by now as Brinley was not feeling very well. The second round of Sandstorm only made it worse for the young fox as she could hardly stand after being pelted by the storm. Chatot was by no means feeling great either but there was little doubt that Chatot would win the battle in the next blow unless Essence did something to turn around the foxes terrible luck. The flock of Chatot eagerly awaited the next round hardly able to believe their comrade might just pull off a miracle. "Are you kidding me right now? This little annoying bird is actually faster than Brinley?" Essence asked out loud as her eye brow raised up a bit to express her shock. She had no idea that the Chatot would prove to be quite the opponent for her fire fox to face off against in battle. Brinley let out a couple of soft cries as she felt the Chatot's sharp break pecking against her head and the forceful sand storm dealing damage to her small body. Similar to her trainer, it seems that Brinley also underestimated the power of the Chatot in combination with the sand storm.
"Brinley! What in the hell do you think you're doing out there?! You mean to tell me that you can't beat a little Chatot?" Essence shouted out in a tone full of disgust as she watched her Pokemon fight to stand up within the raging sand storm after taking loads of damage from Chatot's hard beak and the small grains of rocks trapped within the sand storm. Brinley let out a weakened cry as she glanced back at her trainer with a look of hopelessness in her eyes. Essence smacked her lips and shook her head at her Pokemon. "How embarrassing can you get, Brinley?" She asked out loud with a bit of annoyance ringing through her voice. "Return, I'll let someone else handle this reject of a parrot." She added in a softer tone as she gripped her Pokemon Egg a bit before reaching out to retrieve another Poke Ball from around her waist. Meanwhile, Brinley made her exit from the battlefield and took a seat beside her trainer's feet with her head lowered in disappointment. This would be the second time that she had shown her trainer that she could not win a battle on her town without the help of a potion or a fellow Pokemon.
"Venom, come on out and use Poison Tail!" She called out, releasing her deadly serpent from her orb. The Seviper let out a threatening hiss as her sharp tail become drenched in a bright, purple light as she build up the powerful venom flowing through her entire body and focusing into the tip of her sword-llike tail. The Seviper let out a final warning before swinging her poisonous tail at the Chatot with pure force.

Just when Chatot thought it would win the battle to impress it's flock not only did Essence swap Pokemon but she destroyed the poor parrots pride in the process. Being called a reject of a parrot was quite the unforgivable offense as Chatot charged towards Venom as soon as she was sent out scoring a direct hit with peck on the viper's forehead causing moderate damage. As proud as Chatot was for delivering a successful blow the bird had forgotten about the Sandstorm which sapped both its health and Venom's. The parrot reject could hardly stand up by now but it refused to give up if there was any hope of a victory. It charged forward again delivering another decent peck this time on Venom's tail only to realize how big of an error in judgement it had made a few seconds later as the viper's tail started to glow purple. Chatot at point blank range was an easy target to hit as the snake stabbed the poor bird with it's venomous tail. The bird could feel the venomous liquid the tail secreted enter it's body before falling to the ground knocked out cold from both the venom and power of the move. As hard as it had fought Chatot had been no match for Essence and her superior numbers. The remaining flock of Chatot flew off after seeing their comrade fall in defeat, it had tried but failed their test and they had no reason to let a failure hang out with them. The Chatot would be left to fend for itself unless Essence decided to capture it to show it some form of pity. Brinley gained 1 level and is now level 9. Venom gained 2 levels and is now level 12. Venom is trying to learn Feint but she already knows 4 moves. Would you like her to forget a move so she can learn Feint? The new trainer protection rule allows you to capture the defeated Chatot, if you would like to capture it please complete the following code: ChatotName: [choose] Gender: [choose] Level: 8 OT: Essence Hart Moves: Confide, Taunt, Peck, Growl Ability: Keen Eye or Tangled Feet Nature/Personality: [choose] OOC: So sorry about that, the egg count should be up to date now.

As expected, Venom was able to take out the Chatot without having to put too much of an effort into it outside of having to deal with the raging sandstorm. "Thank you, Venom. I knew that I would have been able to count on you." Essence stated with a smirk as she praised her Seviper before glaring down at the small fire fox Pokemon that had failed to defeat the Chatot on her on. "You better have learned something from watching that battle, Brinley. I cannot take any chances of having any weak Pokemon on my team and you should know that better than anyone else." She added as she continued to stare down at her starter Pokemon from the Kalos Region. Brinley continued to stare down at the ground underneath her paws. She refused to make eye contact with her trainer at this point due to her current state of embarrassment.
Meanwhile, Venom inched a little closer towards her fallen victim. It appeared that the Chatot's friends wasted no time fleeing from the scene. How pathetic even the rejected parrot's friends did not bother to stick around to protect it. Essence noticed her Seviper's attention being focused on colorful bird and she let out a soft chuckle. "Venom, do as you please with that Chatot. I have no use for it on my team." She told the venomous viper. The dark-haired trainer did not care if her serpent decided to eat the Chatot for her next meal or just toy around with it.
"Let's try to get a little more training in while the sandstorm seems to be calming down a bit." She spoke out to her Pokemon as she hugged the dark purple Pokemon Egg resting between her arms. Venom and Brinley nodded their heads before following around with their trainer in hopes of finding another Wild Pokemon to face off again. Perhaps their next encounter would be a Pokemon that Brinley would be able to take on by herself.

Essence did not get far as from a nearby tall patch of grass a Pokemon had been watching the way she had treated the poor Chatot. Being used to being mistreated as well the mysterious Pokemon stepped out from behind the grass and approached Essence very angry at her as it wanted to avenge the poor Chatot. Had the Pokemon in question looked even remotely intimidating it might have made for a tense moment but for a Bidoof it looked so silly event when angry that it was not a scary sight on the least. Even though the normal type did not even come close to being scary one could not deny it was quite determined for payback as it tried to deliver a Tackle attack on her only to miss and slam into a tree instead. Its thick skull prevented any harm physically but now it felt emotionally attacked for failing so badly while wanting revenge as well and it was not about to let Essence escape without defeating it in battle. It had not considered the weather still not being great as the dust storm though a bit weaker was still blowing through the area. None of that mattered however to the beaver who would not be denied becoming a hero to mistreated Pokemon everywhere. One way or another Essence was going to pay for being such a cruel, heartless person. Had it known how badly outnumbered it was however the brave Pokemon might just have reconsidered their risky crusade of justice. Bidoof (Level 7) is seeking justice for Chatot, please select a Pokemon.

Essence's warm, chocolate brown eyes quickly shifted into the direction of the rustling grass position not too far away from her. A large chuckle escaped from her mouth the moment she noticed the Bidoof staring towards her with anger burning within his eyes. "Aww, I believe that this dumbfounded Bidoof seems to be a little upset with me. Is it because of what happened to Chatot? Was that Chatot your little friend? I mean wouldn't be surprised. The weak does have to stick closely to each other." She stated, staring back at the Bidoof with a malicious smirk tugging against the corners of her lips. Brinley and Venom also stared towards the pathetic Bidoof then chuckling along with their trainer.
Unfortunately for Essence, the Bidoof become quite fed up with her mocking it, that it had decided to charge towards her. Essence raised her left eye brow as she watched the Bidoof rush towards her before she decided to step aside and allow the small normal-type Pokemon to ram into a nearby tree. "I can't believe it, but you might be even more pathetic than your little friend." Essence laughed, shaking her head at the brown furball of disappointment. Brinley growled at the Bidoof while Venmon hissed at it as the two trained Pokemon began to move a little closer towards the Bidoof. "Stand down! If this dimwitted rodent would like to have a battle then I will let Hedwig deal with it!" She spoke, retrieving a Poke Ball from around her waist and tossing into into the air to release her Rowlet.
"Hedwig use Leafage on that Bidoof!" She commanded her Pokemon. The Rowlet took flight into the air before pelting her target with glowing leaves.

The more Essence spoke the more angry Bidoof grew. Though her words were not a complete lie as Bidoof had misjudged its original Tackle terribly it didn't make her words sting any less. The way she spoke down to Pokemon she saw as beneath her pushed Bidoof's buttons the wrong way. It showed no fear as Brinley growled at it and as Venom hissed thinking if it stood up to the bully Pokemon it might look tough. Little did that matter though as Essence decided to use another Pokemon against it. Compared to Brinley and Venom the Rowlet known as Hedwig didn't look quite as tough. Bidoof didn't care so long as it punished at least one of Essence's Pokemon to teach her a lesson. The stubby beaver may not have been a speed demon but it was just able to out speed the chubby owl as it slowly ran towards Hedwig in what could only be described as the worlds slowest sprint before nailed Hedwig who was so amused by the sight that she forgot to jump out of the way and paid a dear price for it. As amazing as it was that Bidoof even managed to hit something besides a tree this time it realized rather quickly that it had made itself a huge target for Hedwig as she took aim with a pile of leaves she stored under her wing waiting for the perfect angle to attack. As Bidoof tried to turn around and run she tossed the pile of leaves at the Bidoof scoring a direct hit on its hind legs leaving behind a series of scratches and ruffled fur. Bidoof may have been hurt physically by the attack but its pride had taken a massive hit from exposing itself so easily. While it would try not to repeat that mistake mother nature was ready to make both Pokemon suffer just a little more as the dust storm blowing through the area pelted both Pokemon with sand. Only time would tell if the early mistakes Bidoof had made would come back to haunt it but things were not looking great for it or Hedwig so far. Essence narrowed her dark chocolate eyes a bit as she watched the Bidoof manage to move a little faster than her Rowlet, which allowed it to make the first attack. "Ha, this little rodent is actually faster than you, Hedwig. That is surprising. I guess that mean that we should work on building up your speed a little bit more." Essence spoke out to her Rowlet. She was somewhat impressed that the round beaver-like Pokemon could move faster than her Pokemon. However, she would never admit that to the dimwitted Bidoof.
Hedwig had taken quite a bit of damage from both the Bidoof's tackle and the raging sandstorm. At first, Essence felt more than confident that her Pokemon would be able to defeat the Bidoof wihout too much of an isue, but she was now she found herself questioning her Pokemon's potential to win the fight against the Bidoof. "Damn, this sandstorm makes it almost impossible to fight in." She hissed under her breath a bit.
"Hedwig, we need to finish this battle right now before this sandstorm finishes you off first. Give it another Leafage!" She commanded her Pokemon. Hedwig glared towards the Bidoof and fired another grass-type move into its direction.

The dust storm spun in a swirling vortex upon the open route, spitting out chunks of hard bits of dirt, small branches and twigs, and other rubbish debris. The small furry brown beaver with the overgrown buckteeth grimaced as its face scowled at the feathery brown owl with two leaves sticking out like a small bow. They faced off, and the furry brown beaver’s beady dark eyes blinked as its red button nose twitched. The Bidoof darted through the undergrowth. For a moment, they seemed evenly matched in terms of speed. As the Rowlet swooped down upon the Bidoof, the wild beaver would dodge this way and that. When the wild Beaver spun around, the Rowlet would swoop back up high into the air. So the chase went back and forth, each Pokemon vying for the perfect moment to attack. The Bidoof thought of something crucial to winning the match. A weird thought ticked at the back of its mind, brought up by the hefty gasps of air. Often, the deciding factor in a battle wasn’t always strength, but it was also wits. The furry brown beaver slipped through a bundle of tall green grasses and slid up under a large rotten log. The Rowlet fluttered, swooping down in great strides, trying to find the Bidoof to attack. Within a moment’s notice, the fluffy furry beaver crawled up through a rotten-out hole in the log and roared with a piercing cry. In the same moment, the feathery light brown Rowlet began to whip up a furious storm of leaves that spun in a rampaging vortex to rip and tear at the Bidoof. The Bidoof cried out as both the Leafage and the bits of spiraling dust and debris slammed into the wild Pokemon and tore through its thick, furry hide. The Rowlet would hover in the air, damaged by the flying bits of harsh sands and small, broken twigs that slashed and cut at the avian in the sandstorm. The Bidoof studied the Rowlet with the angriest death glares as he kept his focus perfectly positioned on its opponent despite the harsh weather conditions. It was evident that it wouldn’t give up until its very last breath. As the raging sandstorm began to whip up again, Essence would grip her Pokemon Egg a little bit tighter and turn the front side of her curvaceous body away from the mixture of hard chunks of dirt, loose branches and twigs as an attempt to protect herself and the precious egg from the cruel weather conditions. Brinley and Venom soon noticed that their trainer appeared to have been struggling against the sandstorm a bit and two of them would move a little closer towards her as if duo of Pokemon were using their own bodies to protect their trainer and her egg. Essence noticed her Pokemon's efforts from out of the corner of her eyes and she felt her heart start to grow slightly warmer. "T-thank you." She mumbled out, barely enough loud enough for her Pokemon to hear those kinds words escaping from her mouth.
A few seconds passed before the sandstorm had managed to slow back down, giving Essence just enough time to reposition her body and focus her attention back onto the battle. Unfortunately, Hedwig and the Bidoof still appeared to be quite evenly matched against each other, which lead to the two Pokemon stalling out each other's moves for a bit. "Ugh, I can't get over how this Bidoof is giving us a run for our money right now. I'm going to blame this on the sandstorm. There's no way Hedwig should be having this much of a hard time out there." She stated in a low tone as she continued to stare out towards the battlefield.
"Hedwig! It's time to switch it up a bit. Grass Pledge!" She called out to the Rowlet. A majestic green light engulf the barn owl's body as she lowered herself down onto the ground. She would extended her feathery wings and carefully place them against the surface of the ground as she focused her energy throughout her body and allowed it to flow into the ground. Within seconds, the ground underneath them would start to shake and Hedwig summoned a few grass columns from deep within the ground to attack her opponent.

The wild pokémon chuckled awkwardly as it moved out of the log. Its bucktooth didn't easily allow for the smooth nattering that one would associate with the sound, and the sandstorm didn't waste a moment throwing dirt into its mouth. After a few sputtering coughs the bidoof quickly composed itself and pawed at the ground. What sand and particle debris had collected there was drawn with the motion to produce a tiny pile beneath the stout beaver. If it wasn't for the weather surely it wouldn't be having such a problem with the owl. Nostrils flaring, the normal type snorted loudly before it started forward into another tackle. Whilst Hedwig took care with the enacting of her own attack the plump pokémon barreled forward. It wasn't the most elegant attack. With the owl already low to the ground there was very little chance of any successful rollover for the beaver. The two collided and Bidoof ended up more squishing Hedwig than anything else, but she pressed on. The grassy columns shot up and helped her adversary off, sending the wild pokémon tumbling. Both struggled to get onto their feet. The sandstorm continued ravaging the area, pelting each and every being present. As it raged without any consideration of the landscape or its inhabitants the bidoof just couldn't handle it anymore. Despite its wishes the normal type limped to the ground. Hedwig, too, very nearly lost consciousness but by sheer will managed to remain upright. VICTORY!

"That battle was way too close to my liking. We have a lot of work to do" Essence spoke out to not just Hedwig, but the rest of her team, too. Essence was relieved that her Pokemon managed to pull off the win, but at the same time she expected Hedwig to be able perform a lot better than what she had just shown her in the battle against the Bidoof. "Hedwig, you can take a rest now." She spoke, taking out the owl's Poke Ball and returning her back inside of it. She would then turn her attention towards the injured Bidoof. "Run along now. I have no need for a weak Pokemon like yourself to add on to my team." She told the Bidoof before turning her back on.
"Venom and Brinley, you two should rest up, too." She spoke taking out both of their Poke Balls and returning then back before reattaching the red and white spheres along the belt resting against her hips. "I suppose I should take a trip back to the Pokemon Center before continuing on." She sighed, taking her Pokemon Egg and carefully placing it back inside of her bag before walking back over towards her motorcycle. She hopped on her motorcycle sped off into the direction of the nearest Pokemon Center. One would probably think that it would be quite difficult for her to make it through the sandstorm, but her thick sunglasses managed to shield her dark brown eyes from the small and annoying particles of sand and twigs.
She soon arrived at the Pokemon Center and handed over her Pokemon to the overly cheerful pink-haired nurse. Essence never understood how someone people could be so happy and cheerful all of the time. It had to become draining at times, right? A slight frown slowly crept against her face as she thought about all of those happy-go-lucky people that she had encounter in her life overtime. Luckily, it did not take Nurse Joy too long to make her way back to her desk with Essence's Pokemon fully healed. Nurse Joy gave Essence a warm smile as she handed over the Poke Balls containing her Pokemon. Inside of her returning a smile, Essence would obtain her Pokemon and walk out of the Pokemon Center without even returning a friendly smile nor to mumble a single thank you.
Now that Essence's Pokemon had been fully healed and well rested up a bit, she would make her way back towards the previous route in hopes of finding more Wild Pokemon to train against her Pokemon. "Alright, it's time to finish what we started a few minutes ago." She spoke, hopping out of her motorcycle and grabbing a hold of one of her Poke Balls before tossing it into the air and releasing her fire-fox from it. "Brinley, you are going to have to prove to me that you have what it takes to stay on this team. You may be my starter Pokemon from back home and all, but that does not mean that I will hesitate to replace you for a stronger Pokemon." She warned her. Brinley glanced up at her trainer for a few seconds, but she then quickly lowered her head down in disappointment from her previous battle.
Quick Summary: First few paragraphs are mostly focused on Essence taking her Pokemon to the Pokemon Center to heal up, so that she can continue to train them. The last paragraph is where Essence returns back to the previous route to do more training with her Pokemon.
