Name: Brodie Chapman
Age: Eleven
Gender: Male
Trainer Type: Cook Trainer
Hometown: Olivine City
Appearance:
Brodie currently resides at 4’6” and weighs 77 pounds; which is relatively average for his age. Radiant brown eyes that shine a near maroon whenever the sun hits them at the perfect angle. Hair is medium length with parted bangs and is naturally blonde from his father’s side. If anything, portrays his father's features except for his smooth olive complexion in which he inherited from his mother. His general attire varies depending on the current weather, but in most cases, he sports a short-sleeve blue t-shirt with a pair of khaki shorts to help keep comfortable during his travels. During the colder months, Brodie would switch his attire to combat the cold such as his blue hoodie and a pair of jeans.
What about when he’s cooking? Brodie would never go anywhere without his cook’s attire. Sure, he’s not a professional cook, but likes to dress for the occasion as it shows a kind of professionalism. This would be his white top chef jacket with black work pants along black, non-slip dress shoes. A long white headband is tied around his forehead to keep sweat at bay and keep his muse strong (has been given to him from his father). To finish the look is a long black apron to prevent his cooking attire from sporting food stains, but wouldn’t be the end of the world if he did get dirty.
Personality:
- Creative
In order to become a chef, one must have the creativity to thrive in this profession. Truer words to hold dear to Brodie’s heart. The young lad would always be in the kitchen to observe the going-ons in what his mother and father were preparing. If he wasn’t learning in the kitchen, it would be from the vast library of cookbooks at home. Usually, if Brodie found something he wanted to try, he would attempt to alter the recipe a bit to provide a new flavor. Like anything, it would turn out good or bad depending on what he would add into the dish. Even if the resources were scarce, it proved more of a challenge to think of new ways in creating something new as well. Brodie believes that every failure is a lesson to learn for the next attempt he would create.
- Competitive
A double edge sword at best. Brodie loves a challenge, whether it being in the kitchen or a battle between Pokemon. However, it tends to cloud his judgment if he isn’t careful. How so? Imagine being so close in winning a simple game of checkers for example. Brodie can see the end of the tunnel growing brighter as he proceeds towards victory. Nothing could go wrong. Yet, his mind overlooks what could go wrong. Proceeds without a backup plan. Think you can guess where that leads to. As it were before, a double edge sword. Good things can manage as well. It inspires Brodie to try his hardest to win. Not only to just win and gloat but to him, it’s a sign of improvement. Brodie seeks to always improve, but to do that, he needs to become the best by challenging himself as well as others to get to the top.
- Helpful
If anyone needed a helping hand, Brodie will lend a hand without hesitation. Brodie’s parents raised him to be fortunate for what he has in life and if someone needed help if it came across, then not to be hesitant. May it be given a small plate of food for a stray Pokémon that’s binging whatever was in the trashcan (even though Brodie wished he could adopt it and give it a good home). Same for people! If an elderly woman had struggles with carrying multiple bags of groceries, no hesitation there on Brodie’s part.
History:
Born on a cold, windy day in the ports of Olivine City to parents who dedicated their lives in perfecting the art of cooking, but finally having a child of their own was the true dream. Young Brodie lived most of his lifespan in the kitchen, always watching his family hard at work with a smile always on their face. At the age of three was when Brodie held his first spatula and flipped his first Pikachu Pancake (with his mother holding on and watching very closely to ensure his safety). That was the day the passion to follow his family’s footsteps had been kindled. Slowly, but surely, his parents both taught him different methods and techniques in learning how to cook on a basic level. At the age of seven, Brodie created his first dish called the mud pie in which consisted of chocolate with a helping of earthworms.
Yikes. The face his father made after seeing half of a worm dangling from his fork and felt the other half thriving around against his tongue. Henceforth, this was the beginning of his ever-expanding creativity. Brodie, sadly, never had many friends growing up due to him always reading in his parent’s library at home. The local kids thought him to be odd and whenever Brodie did attempt to join in games, they’d shun him away. At the age of eleven, his parents took the day off to be with their son to give him a “surprise.” Gathered in the living room, they knew it was time for him to spread his wings. To take off out into the open world instead of always being in one place. Not to diminish his passion for cooking, but seeing that there’s a whole world to be explored and Pokémon to discover!
He was notified that he would be staying with his grandmother in New Bark Town before he began his long journey. Overall, his parents hoped that he would be able to make friends and have an exciting take on life. To be inspired in creating things that no one has ever tried. The next day, Brodie had arrived at his grandmother's. She too worked in the line of chefs but has now since retired. Hadn’t stopped her from cooking like she was back in the restaurant she had been a part of for a good majority of her life. Brodie had loved to visit her. It was a new experience each time. She would take him fishing by the river, pick out some berries that the Pokémon loved to munch on. Brodie would love to watch Pokémon living out their normal lives as well as hand feed a few with delicious berries. Perhaps they could be friends with him? Well, later on one evening after enjoying some outdoor activities, Brodie and his grandmother returned home to find a note that had been on the slid under the door. It had read, “To Brodie...”
The note had belonged to the local professor that was in charge of starting young trainers in their journey of discovering different breeds of Pokémon. It was an appointment for young Brodie to come in and choose their new companion for the long journey ahead. Determined, Brodie was indeed ready to make a name for himself out in the world.
Goals:
1.) Find and discover new dishes/flavors.
2.) Open his very own restaurant (when he’s older)
3.) Create new dishes for both Humans and Pokémon to enjoy.
4.) Become a great food-based (or ones that love to eat in general) Pokémon Trainer in the process to help inspire him.
