Valon woke up early, ready to officially start his journey as a Pokémon trainer. "Poseidon!" He said excitedly to his Pokémon Squirtle while still in his PJ's. Poseidon woke up quickly, startled a bit from the loudness of Valon's voice. "Squirtle?" He said alerted. Valon gave a frown and said apologetic, "Sorry about that buddy. Today's the day we start our journey." Poseidon gave a weak "Squirtle!" which Valon knew he was nervous. "It's ok, I'm nervous too, but together we can do anything! Are you ready?" Poseidon gave a enthusiastic "Squirtle!" and Valon changed from his PJ's and into his normal attire. Afterwards the two headed downstairs to eat breakfast.
The living room was mostly quiet, with the TV set on the weather. Valon made breakfast for the two of them and both of them ate while watching TV. After finishing, the two headed out the door into New Bark town. It wasn't too hot or to cold outside, in fact it was almost perfect. The breeze blew a chill on Valon's back however, which broke the perfect feeling. The skies were clear and the sun seemed to rise not that long ago, showing how early in the day it was. Valon and Posidon walked towards the entrance to Route 29 and Valon became excited so much it became hard to breathe. After giving a sigh he looked at Poseidon. Poseidon gave a look of happiness and the two entered Route 29, ready for what's to come.
It seemed like it had been the perfect day that Valon had chosen to start his journey with his new companion Poseidon. He saw several people he knew from New Bark town who was out on walks and picnics and generally enjoying the good weather, who knew how long it would last this late in the year? There were also some kids who were playing pokemon battles with each other, but only one of them had a pokemon, a rattata, the other one had a teddybear and was complaining about losing all the time. A flock of pidgeys flew past above but they were too high up for Poseidon to reach.
For wild pokemon though, the day was like anyone else. Of course it was nice with some good weather since that meant it was a bit easier to stock up and be ready before the cold winter, but neither had the time to really relax, if they wanted to survive to next spring. Not long from the road, a tree with still green leaves was swarming with wurmples who tried to fatten up for the cold months ahead. They didn't go about it peacefully though, wurmples weren't herd pokemon per so but in these times they had to try live like that to make it work. Right now two were arguing about who was in charge and they sizing each other up and making a lot of noise before they rammed each other with their horns. After a lot of pushing and rustling with the leaves in the tree, one of the wurmples where pushed out and fell like a stone to the ground. The winner waved its horn around victorious while the beaten one slowly got back on its feet, and glared at the other one. It hadn't given up and crawled back to the treetrunk, but other wurmples stood in the way and made it clear it had not only lost but also been thrown out of the group. It stared hopelessly at the group in the tree, but then heard something behind it and as it turned spotted Valen and Poseidon. It knew the look of a trainer and it expected this one to challenge it to a battle. It pulled itself together and looked determined at Valen, and waved its horn around confidently, it was not going to back down.
Wurmple [lvl 7] has been thrown out of its group and expects to get attacked.
(ooc: I noticed Poseidon didn't have his Water Gun, which they learn at level 3 at the latest gen. I added that, since the next water type attack he'll learn is first at level 15. Let me know if you had removed the move for a specific reason and want me to change it back ^^)1-42

As Valon entered Route 29, he first noticed a boy with a Rattata going against another boy with a teddy bear. The boy with a teddy bear started crying when he lost, which Valon felt a bit bad for the boy. A flock of Pidgeys flew over him high in the sky. Valon wanted to try to catch as many different Pokémon he could. Just then a Wurmple fell out of the tree in front of him, looking a bit upset. The Wurmple made eye contact with Valon while waving it's horn around showing it wanted to battle. Valon nodded with a smile letting the wild Wurmple know he accepted it's challenge. "Poseidon, let's show em what we got!" Valon said while giving some distance for the battle. "Squirtle!" Poseidon said happily.
The boy with the Rattata and the boy with the teddy bear along with a few others gathered around to watch Valon's first battle. Valon watched the wild Wurmple carefully. He wasn't sure how it would attack him, but had to be ready for anything. "Poseidon, use tail whip!" Valon called out, hoping to eventually be able to capture the wild Pokémon, but knew he had to weaken it first.
The crying boy was easily stopped by his friend who distracted him from the loss to the real battle that was about to happen, and the two ran over, forgetting all about rattata and plush. The rattata was a good companion for the kids though, as it grabbed the teddybear and calmly trotted after them, only to place it beside its owner and then take a seat while keeping a close eye on the kids to make sure they didn't get too close. "Why is Valon fighting that wurmple?" The kid whom the rattata belonged to asked loudly, and one of the adults who had left the picnic to come over, patiently explained that Valon had become a trainer and was training his new squirtle.
The wild wurmples in the tree had withdrawn a bit when Valon had stepped closer, but now where the rest of the humans arrived they hid in between the leaves on the tree, although you could spot several of them due to their red skin. They watched the battle closely but no-one wanted to move in to help, they had just thrown the battling wurmple out after all. The wurmple which Valon was facing wasn't a scaredy cat either, it had been the closest thing to a leader the group had had and it watched Poseidon closely.
"What is it doing?" One of the kids asked loudly as Posiodon wiggled his tail and the adult had a bit of problem explaining the move to the kid and what it did. Wurmple's retaliation was much more easy to understand, the needles it spit at the squirtle anyone could understand. It was a well aimed move, probably mostly because Poseidon was inexperienced and didn't know what to expect but the wurmple also knew what to aim for. The needles borrowed themselves into the soft skin at Poseidon's neck and they released their toxins quickly. If Valon hadn't noticed by now the kids certainly would make him aware of it. "Why does the squirtle look sick?" One of them asked and the other one added: "that's not fun, does he need to go to bed now?" The wurmple looked pleased, this battle had started quite well in its favor.
