(new team: rookidee, Pidgey, Astraea, delibird, swablu, scatterbug)
Lei paused outside the Violet City Gym and checked the time again. 20 minutes left and she had been asked to be early so she could be ready to start on time. This gym really was popular if they had to assign times for the challengers, Lei hoped it meant it was going to be a real challenge for her, just like the trials at home. Some of those had of course also been easier but since this was her introduction to it she wanted it to be a good one. She had of course looked up the gym before signing up and to her surprise the Leader's only used one type of pokemon. That had to mean they were amazingly with that type for it to work and them being a challenge, or that they were going to be a piece of cake. Lei had of course seen all the reviews and guides people had made for winning, and most of them directed at Falkner in Violet City Gym, suggested to bring electric, rock or ice types. Lei wondered if that would make the battle easy since you had the advantage or if the leader's were so strong that was the only way you had a chance to beat them. She didn't think she proved anything by doing it that way though, if she was challenging a flying type specialist and had to show she was better than him, then she of course would have to use flying types herself. She did bring Polarmist with her, her delibird although she found it a bit cheating, only if it turned out you couldn't really beat Falkner without.
It was time and Lei went to the door and knocked. It was opened instantly by an assistant who greeted her politely and got confirmed she was the next challenger in line. "Come with me, The Gym Leader is ready in a moment," the assistant said as she lead the way into the building, "I must inform you that there are spectators today, I hope that is not a problem?" "Not at all!" Lei grinned and declared she was ready right away when asked if she needed a minute to be ready. She was left at a door opening as the assistant checked if Falkner was ready for her, and then gestured her into the arena. She hesitated a moment and then let out Polarmist, most to tease the gym leader and get him to wonder when she would use it.
Lei stepped into the battle arena and was impressed with its size. It was clearly made for birds as the roof towered far above her and made plenty of room for acrobatics in the air. This was going to be fun, although she worried she'd get a sprained neck from looking up all the time. She confidently walked in with Polarmist right behind her, she pushed the uncertainty of whether she was supposed to go and greet the Gym Leader or take her spot away, and walked over to greet him properly. "Greetings, I'm Leilani and I'm here to challenge you," she said with a smile and offered a handshake.

The sun was beaming down into the skydomed establishment, but luckily the large glass panels above were treated properly so those bright rays didn't cause too much hassle for the spectators of today's line up of gym challengers. Falkner stood at one end, cool and collected as if trying to mimic the stance his father would take when waiting for his opponents to take up position. Leilani was brought into view by the greeter, shown the place she would be taking up battle, but then walked straight to the young leader first. Falkner remained stoic as she approached. Seeing her now he felt it was even more important to remain as professional as possible. Most of his visitors were younger than him. Leilani wasn't. This didn't necessarily mean she would prove more of a challenge, but the delibird trotting alongside would beg to differ. He couldn't help but take a long look at the polar penguin as they came closer. "Ah-Afternoon," he near stuttered, caught off guard slightly by such a formal start. Such etiquette wasn't beyond him, but after facing off against rowdy youngsters the passed few days it was quite a change in banter. The young adult accepted the handshake and smiled back, feeling a bit more settled afterward. "I'm ready when you are. It looks like you came rather prepared," he added, nodding toward Polarmist. While Falkner much preferred the type of bird that could soar, his respect for the woman raised with the sight of a bird of any kind. He waited for her to take up a position on the opposing side of the field before sending out his first pokémon.
Falkner sent out his Pidgey (LV 10)! Who will Leilani start with?

Polarmist had the effect on Falkner as she had hoped for, and she enjoyed his expression as he looked at the ice type at her side. She was surprised to see how young he was, but of course, some of the Trial Captains was rather young as well and it didn't mean they were inexperienced at all. "Of course, this is no ordinary battle and I am looking forward to learn something from the expert of flying pokemon," she said with a warm smile. She knew she buttered it thickly here but she wouldn't complain if he thought positively about her, he must have some contacts with his position. She wanted to mingle with the right people in this region but she still needed to figure out who exactly they were. Lei gave a court nod to Falkner before she strolled back to her side of the field and watched him call out his first pokemon. She felt a little pang of disappointment, a normal pidgey? He was a flying type expert, surely he had other pokemon than the most common in the whole region?
"Interesting choice," Lei said with a smile and quickly made her decision, "I wonder if you know mine." With that she, for once, threw the pokeball up in the air and released one of her newest pokemon: a rookidee. It wasn't one she knew much about herself but she knew it was popular among the trainers in its region, so she had high hoped for it. The rookidee burst out of its pokeball with wings folded out wide, but then seemed to lose its balance and it tumbled ungraceful towards the ground before it caught it again. Lei sighed, what a first impression to make. "Sunil! Hone Claws and Power Trip!" She called her orders, short and precise. It was a combo she had wanted to see in action since she learned about it and now was the chance. The rookidee scraped her claws against each other to sharpen them, as she looked eagerly at her opponent, fully fired up for this fight. She called out a challenge to the pidgey and then dived towards it, whipping her claws up in front as she got close, ready to dig them into the pidgey's feathers.
Polarmist came flapping back to Lei with Sunil's pokeball which he handed over obediently and then looked wistfully at the battle in front of him.

Her comment before taking up position made the young man beam with a sense of pride. Falkner smiled and nodded in return. "Well, my father is the true master of flying pokémon. But while he's abroad I'm filling in." After half a second pause he added quickly, "And I'm no slouch either," as if worried that made him sound less adequate for the position of gym leader. After the pokemon were revealed he couldn't help but take note of her disappointment. Lei was nice about it, but the lack of excitement to be facing off against something rather common in the area was a, well, common reaction to seeing the little bird. The Alolan girl's pokemon was far more exciting in comparison. Both in availability and presence. The blue-haired lad couldn't help but chuckle quietly at the entrance the similarly colored avian had made. "A... rookidee?" he added a slight hesitation as he recalled the exotic species. They had been all the rage in Johto among bird keepers when the festival was around, and from his research on all new things bird the rookidee was pretty much Galar's pidgey. "You're meeting me in kind then." The air in Falkner's chest rose with excitement. Lei had surpassed his expectations already, having the delibird play fetch instead of simply sending it out to cause icy winds all throughout the building. The prospect of a pidgey vs. effective pidgey brought a sparkle to the boy's eyes. "Pidgey here may not seem all that impressive, but he is one of my father's collection," he boasted. "Let's show them what you can do. Gust, then lead into a Tackle!"Sunil was already well into honing her talons by the time the tan bird had flown close to begin beating winds down upon her. The gust was easily weathered. After all, she was a bird herself so a bit of wind wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Once it was finished she even had the time to boast some of her own strength before pidgey broke into a dive to proceed with his follow up move. The two met each other and exchanged blows, each ending up pushed away from each other. Pidgey was sent head over heel along the wood flooring but managed to catch and right himself quickly. vs Falkner Weather: Clear [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] [attr="class","qkt-clip"]Pidgey LV 10 HP 58% [18/31] [attr="class","qkt-wild-imgbox"] [attr="class","qkt-pkmn-img"] [attr="class","qkt-trainer-pkmn"] [attr="class","qkt-clip"]Sunil LV 12 HP 59% [20/34] [attr="class","qkt-trainer-imgbox"] [attr="class","qkt-pkmn-img"] Pidgey [Keen Eye]: Normal Sunil [Keen Eye]: +1 ATK, +1 ACC SP22 Sunil used Hone Claws! "Oh, is that so?" Lei said and wondered briefly if Falkner was just modest or if his father really would have been a much more fun challenge. She smiled as he quickly defended himself from what he feared he had expressed. "Only one way to prove that," she challenged him with a wry smile, she wanted a fun battle here. Everyone talked about the gym challenges to be a test, just like the Trials and she had enjoyed those so she had high expectations for this one.
"That is correct," Lei confirmed his question about Sunil, and hoped he didn't ask any thing else since she wouldn't be able to answer them. She knew what she needed of her bird to use it and nothing more, why would she be interested in random facts about it? She was rather surprised when Falkner already guessed that she planned on only using flying types as she had expected it would have taken him longer. Perhaps she had already underestimated him. And to return to her earlier thought about Falkner's father being more skilled, if this pidgey was trained by an expert then it might have some surprised in store for her.
Lei was pleased with how well Sunil handled the gusty wind, staying put and sharpening the claws of her, but then the birds clashed and Pidgey was sent flying but easily righted himself. Sunil was another story, while she wasn't sent flying unwillingly the collision simply made her lose her balance and drop towards the ground like a frantically flapping stone. She managed to turn her body slightly and soften her fall a bit before she bounced off the wooden floors of the gym. Lei facepalmed. "Get your act together Sunil! Power Trip!" Lei called her order and the rookidee roughled her feathers and then ran over the floor towards Pidgey, only to trip over her own feet and fall on her belly. Lei suppressed her annoyance, she was going to make a good impression here after all. "Up again, try Peck instead!" Lei called instead and Sunil got to her feet embarrassed and avoided looking at anyone. She had to find out where Pidgey was though and she was not going to back down, so she flapped up and tried straight up catching up with Pidgey to chop its beak into it.

"Not much of an acrobatic is she?" Falkner chuckled in the wake of their two birds clashing. "I'd heard the Galarian tiny bird was pretty nimble. Though, your talent seems to lie elsewhere," the gym leader concluded, directing the last statement toward the rookidee with a friendly smile. Though they looked so much different, the two pokemon on the field were very close cousins when it came down to it. Falkner was overly pleased with this showdown. Even if the next ones sent out by Lei weren't quite as similar a match like all his other challengers, Sunil was proving to be quite entertaining. Pidgey ruffled up his feathers and got back to hovering a few feet above the floor. He glared down at the antics, seeming far less amused by the jester. Suspicious even. Its tan eyebrows furrowed even further when the rookidee went on another trip across the wood paneling. Falkner suppressed another soft laugh as he witnessed the continued clumsiness of the bird. He found the spherical avian quite adorable, but he had a certain public image that needed to be kept. The young lad quietly cleared his throat and moved his thoughts into more of a focus. Neither running nor flying appeared to be her forte. That could be something to exploit. "Keep them off balance with another Gust."His bird chirped affirmatively, though didn't begin acting straight away. Instead Pidgey squinted skeptically after the moving blue bird. He wasn't sure what to expect. Was Sunil going to trip again? Bounce up and attack in the employ of some sort of drunken-boxer technique? He had started picking up his wingbeats, but by the time it became clear the rookidee was just simply enacting a regular attack the tunnel vision of Pidgey was too slow to react. The peck landed solidly and knocked him down a ways. He had a much harder time getting his positioning corrected, particularly with an extended effort to remain airborne in the process. His wing flaps became loud and labored but Pidgey did manage to stay off the ground. Not that he needed to. Perhaps he felt a need to show off aerial superiority in the presence of such a unsteady bird. Regardless of the reason, Pidgey barely managed to catch Sunil in a momentary gust afterward. vs Falkner Weather: Clear [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] [attr="class","qkt-clip"]Pidgey LV 10 HP 16% [5/31] [attr="class","qkt-wild-imgbox"] [attr="class","qkt-pkmn-img"] [attr="class","qkt-trainer-pkmn"] [attr="class","qkt-clip"]Sunil LV 12 HP 32% [11/34] [attr="class","qkt-trainer-imgbox"] [attr="class","qkt-pkmn-img"] Pidgey [Keen Eye]: Normal Sunil [Keen Eye]: +1 ATK, +1 ACC SP22 Sunil used Peck! Lei grumbled a bit over Falkner's comment, Sunil clearly wasn't an acrobatic and she didn't really think the bird lived up to the promises she had been given when she bought her. Sunil blushed a bit embarrassed although that wasn't visible due to her feathers, she had been fighting in the wild but hadn't got much chance to practice before she got captured and ended up with Lei, and it was clear to her that in this case her opponent was more skilled than her. Better trained and had had mnay more battles. Sunil was confident in her own strengths though and she was not going to give up, she still had a chance to turn this around and show them what she got. She chirped excitedly when she had managed to get her peck through, but it didn't continue as the gust got her out of balance again. Not because it was strong but because she had expected it to be much stronger and the powerful wingbeats she used to try counter it, sent her head over heels and spiraling down towards the ground.
Lei had had enough and recalled the bird. "I think that must be enough silliness for now," Lei said dryly and quickly found another ball which she too threw high up in the air, where it popped open. A red pidgey appeared and a couple of wingbeats was all he needed to stabilize himself, he clearly was much more skilled in the art of flying than the rookie rookidee. "You undoubtedly have heard about Cardinal Pidgeys," Lei said proudly to Falkner, she liked being able to show them all off to him, especially since this one was a rare one. "Sun Shadow, go ahead and use Air Cutter!" Lei ordered.
Sun had taken in the scene curiously, and he was rather impressed with what he saw. He grinned a bit bashfully to the other pidgey whom he didn't doubt was much better than he was, but it was nice facing of a familiar face instead of something really strong and impressive. Sun knew he was a pidgey, and pidgeys were ordinary, so was he. He took a deep breath and made a couple of hard wingbeats, sending blasts of air towards the other pidgey.

GYM BATTLE VS. FALKNER ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------- "I certainly have." Falkner said when she mentioned Cardinal Pidgeys. He himself had been looking for one to add to his team as well, but he had yet to find one. The birds seemed to be squaring off in front of them, Falkner's Pidgey spreading his wings in what seemed to be a show of dominance despite Sunil's intimidating appearance. Sunil gave a rough coo in repsonse, though the bird seemed to already know what Lei was thinking. They weren't pleased about making the switch with Sun Shadow, but if it was Lei's wish then they would allow it.
In moments, the switch was made and Sunshadow was flying free above the battleground, a coo escaping his beak as he flapped about, showing off his beautiful red plumage. Falkner seemed astounded. "Wow! I've not gotten to see one up this close yet. You're very lucky to have a Pidgey like that." His look shifted and he smiled slightly. "But as pretty as that bird is, we still have a battle to conduct. Pidgey, Gust!" The bird on Falkner's side reacted quickly, flapping his wings wildly to get above Sun before grounding him with a strong gust of wind, Sun was clearly caught off guard as he hit the floor.
The other bird recovered quickly upon Lei's command and shot sharp gusts of wind which hit the other bird's body, Hard. The Pidgey fell and cooed softly in defeat. "This is the most fun I've had in a while, I'll admit. You're really giving me a run for my badge." Falkner said as he returned his Pidgey, taking another Pokeball from his belt. "But I'm not done yet. Go, Pidgeotto!" Falkner called, releasing a much larger bird that soared to the top of the arena. -------------

It didn't start quite as Lei would have wished as Sun also got blown out of balance and dropped to the ground. She had hoped he would have done better in handling this than Sunil, and she once more wished her pokemon had been better trained. He was at least quick to catch up and pay back, as he hit true with his attack Falkner's pidgey went down. "I am, he wasn't easy to find," Astrid said although it was only half the truth. She herself hadn't done anything for it other than begging and harrassing her family until someone tracked one down and gave it to her. They probably had bought it expensive as they usually did, and as usually Lei found him boring not long after and had forgotten about him until now. Sun looked a bit uncomfortable that someone once again thought he was anything special. "Good fight!" He called encouragingly to the other pidgey before it got recalled and he awaited his next opponent. What it was he didn't get to see as Lei recalled him again before Pidgeotto was fully sent out.
"I'm glad to hear that because we're far from done!" Lei said with a grin as she found her next pokeball. The next pokemon which appeared when she threw it into the air, wasn't presented like the others right away, Lei wanted Falkner and the spectators to realize themselves and be awed. The shiny staravia flapped hard to keep airborne and glanced around quickly but of course her two chicks wasn't here either, why would they? She did her best to squash down the feelings and take in the scene in front of her. Astraea smiled wryly at Pidgeotto. "Soo, are we here to see if we're compatible as mates?" She asked innocently.
"I know looks aren't everything, but it is said that beauty come from within," Lei said casually and basked in the glory of her rare pokemon. Her pokemon might not be able to impress much with their strength and ability but at least they could show off a bit with their rareness. "Astraea! Double Team!" Called Lei her order.

GYM BATTLE VS. FALKNER ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------- Falkner nodded at her words. "I am glad that you know looks don't equate to their Power an potential." Falkner said as his Pidgeotto landed on his arm. "But it is alright to take pride in the fact that you have that beauty and power on your side." He said. Of course, it was a rare Pokemon, a rare flyer in fact. She had chosen the right place to come and show it off, for every positive point that it possessed. "I'm interested to see how far your journey take you, if you walk away today's victor, that is." He said as she sent out her Staravia. He noted surely, that her colors were different. "I will say, you are quite impressive with all these lovely birds you've brought today. Let's see if their power matches their beauty." Even as she came out, there was something...intimidating about the Staravia to the other bird.
Pidgeotto looked slyly at Astraea. 'I have to say, I am spoken for, however my trainer is right, you are quite the beauty. Take the compliment, but I am afraid I cannot give you more.' He said, and then glanced to Falkner. Astraea took that time to clone herself several times over at Lei's command, surrounding Falkner and his own bird. "Clever...I wonder if this will be the one time my keen bird can't see through the ruse. Pidgeotto, Gust!" The bird lifted his talons from Falkner's arm and kicked up a strong wind, and while he blew some of the clones away, he did not manage to hit the real Astraea. "Hmm...That's the first time I've seen him confused by this trick, good job." He said to Lei. "Don't worry Pidgeotto, you'll have another chance yet."-------------

Of course Lei knew that looks didn't meant they were strong, she had plenty of pokemon just for show and to impress purely by their looks and rareness but she had almost never used them to anything as they were close to useless. Until now she had only used her family's strong and well trained pokemon for her battles but now she couldn't do that anymore, she had to use what she had in hand. Some of them at least showed promise but she wished it would go a bit faster when it came to power them up. Lei beamed and basked in the praise, this was just was she had hoped with bringing them and why she had special pokemon in the first case. That Falkner wanted to see how far she could go, if she won that is gave er motivated a big boost. "I'll make sure I don't disappoint you then!" She laughed and couldn't help but glance towards the little audience to see if they too were awed. It wasn't often you get to see a shiny pokemon after all. "How many types of birds do you have by the way?" Lei asked Falkner curiously, perhaps he had some more interesting in his collection he just didn't use for one reason or another.
Lei smiled confidently, pleased that her rather basic plan had worked and she was quite surprised that others hadn't tried it before. "We'll see, we'll see," Lei said with a wry smile as she knew she could continue with that if she wanted to, but honestly that was too boring. "Astraea, time for a Wing Attack!" Lei called her order and Polarmist at her side crossed his arm-wings and pouted.
Astraea laughed when Pidgeotto became shy due to her teasing, "aw, how sad I was so sure it would be us!" she exclaimed theatrically but couldn't stop herself from laughing. "Then tell me, who's the lucky one?" She asked as she flapped around and looked for the right time to set in with her attack.

GYM BATTLE VS. FALKNER ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------- "I have many different kinds of birds here in the gym. Pidgey and Pidgeotto here are only a fraction." Falkner mentioned when Lei asked just how many bird he had under his wing. "While I can't use certain ones for league regulated gym battles, I have a few personal favorites that I like to use outside of the Gym." He answered as his Pidgeotto beat his wings in response to what Falkner was saying, and Falkner chuckled. "Don't worry, buddy. You have one of the most important jobs of all." he assured his bird. Pidgeotto gave a coo and glanced to Astraea. 'My heart belongs to a most lovely Honchkrow under my Trainer's care. However, show me what you've got.' Astraea didn't need the direction however, because before he could finish his sentence the other bird slammed into him with glowing wings.
"Whoa, are you alright Pidgeotto?" Falkner asked. The bird nodded and Falkner nodded. "Right, gust again!" The bird crowed and released a torrential wind that slammed into Astraea, although she still looked better off than the other Bird. "Impressive. Very Impressive. I'm glad you came to challenge me today. I really needed the break from the little brats that charged in here demanding a badge. You're certainly leaning towards earning yours." He said as Pidgeotto regained his composure.-------------

Lei nodded to Falkner's explanation, it made sense that he had several other kind of birds and the league might have put a limit on what he could use to make the test for the challengers the same every time. If he had had some really strong flying types, some might not have even dared to face him, and Lei herself would probably have waited until she had some stronger pokemoner herself. "So what other kind of pokemon do you have?" She asked as that was what she really wanted to know with her question, one who should be an expert in flying pokemon, which did he choose to keep and train? "And which one is your favorites?" She added genuinely curious, "and why?"
"Ack, I will never be able to compete with that!" Astraea said with a grin, "so what are you doing here instead of helping her in the nest?" She added and was about to ask if he had any hatchlings as well, but didn't since that came a bit too close to comfort for her. She shook her feathers and focused on the battle again, just as Lei's command of another Wing attack was shouted. Astraea flapped to get higher up and enjoyed feeling the winds under her wings, it was rare she got to fly freely and she was going to enjoy every minute of it. "You wanted to see what I got, then watch closely!" She called to the other bird and began to pick up speed as she attempted to circle him, looking for an opening to dive and give him a slap with her wing.

It was easy to get him talking when it came to the topic of birds; to no one's surprise. The battle had become almost more chatty than a fight for league placement. At least, for the trainers the intensity was a bit lost in the whirls of conversation. The birds themselves weren't so much. Pidgeotto remaining more focused than his bird keeper, and as such becoming a little ruffled at the lack of tactical instruction on his part. As eye catching as the opposing staravia was the little trick at the start was doing a number on the tan feathered avian's ability to keep track of which one wasn't a dud target. "Other kinds?" he repeated ponderously. At first he thought she meant typing, which of course his bird collection had a variety of secondary types to try and keep a well rounded pool against all the other trainer types out there. However, that was ridiculous. He was a bird keeper after all, and based on the team she had displayed so far he was holding out hope that she was too. There was a flutter of excitement in his smile at the idea. At first he thought she was just throwing out a starter bird to face off against pidgey, but as the battle spanned she had shown at least four different birds! Each more magnificent than the last. "I've got a collection from various regions," he finally began. "Even have a staravia myself, though he's not a rare coloring like Astraea is."Pidgeotto cooed to try and get Falkner back on track, though he didn't quite catch the intent of the noise. "A Honchrow, which is rather close with dad's Pidgeotto here, is certainly up there for favorites but I'm not sure I could single out any one of my birds. Doduo's line probably the highest intrigue at the moment... but that's cause I want to get her up to being able to use fly. It should be quite an experience."On the patiently waiting bird's side, he ruffled his feathers and puffed up his chest a little. "Trying to do my job vetting new challengers," he retorted, though it was clear any annoyance in his tone wasn't toward the shiny staravia who'd inquired. Pidgeotto's wish would finally be granted when Falkner issued an instruction. The tan bird was quick to act on it, diving down to gather a bit of grime off the floor. Whilst he was doing so though Astraea had plenty of time to maneuver in and deliver a harsh slam with her shining wings. Pidgeotto was solidly knocked down with the attack, but managed to just barely let loose a spray of dirt and sand into her face as she passed over him. A success, but the ploy to even the accuracy odds may have come too late to matter after the strength displayed in the last attack. "What about yourself, Lei? To Lei, this battle wasn't as exciting as she could have hoped but again she had had tons of battles with pokemon a lot stronger than the current ones. Even though the pokemon were well matched and it for them was a tough and tense battle, Lei found all their moves underwhelming to look at as she had seen must more strong and impressive moves be thrown through the air back home. When the battle couldn't catch her interest, she could at least try to learn what she could about flying types in the hope it could help her in her future training. If she couldn't use already strong and experienced pokemon and would have to train them herself, she would make sure they were going to be the strongest they could ever get! Since Pidgey and pidgeotto were chosen to the official battle Lei thought they must have some hidden strength which made them worth the hassle, she could live with that since her own at least had some special colors. Astraea sounded to be a good choice as well, now Falkner said he had one of those too but a honchcrow was not what she had expected. And definitely not the doduo either. "A doduo?! But how? They don't have wings!" Lei exclaimed with a laugh.
Astraea was pussled at Pidgeotto's annoyance and she glanced at Falkner and wondered what that was about. She didn't get a lot of time to think about it, not that she was the thinking type, as Lei gave the order and she followed it. She got a face full of dirt as reward and coughed to get the dust out of her airways. "If I'm too shiny for you, you could just have asked instead of trying to fix it yourself!" She retorted with a grin and squinted as she tried to keep track of the other bird while circling around. Her feathers certainly wasn't as flashy as they had been before now they were covered in dust. Astraea tilted her head and looked closer at Pidgeotto. "You have something.. there," she said innocently and gestured to the side of the other bird's face, trying to distract him. She was ready to strike the moment she got the order.
Lei smiled wryly at Falkner's question. "Astraea, Wing Attack!" Lei snapped her orders again and watched the bird set into motion. The bird better nok get distracted by that little bit of dust. "I do have favorites, unfortunately most of them are back home as they are my family's pokemon and not my own," Lei said cheerfully and then rubbed her chin thoughtfully as she tried to decide if there were any of her current weaklings of pokemon she was happy to have around and especially if any of them were a flying type. Her eyes got caught of Astraea and she decided that if the staravia continued with her current usefulness she was a good contestant. "Astraea here is actually pretty high up on the list," she said with gesture towards her shiny bird, "of the non flying type I have a torkoal which is really reliable, but otherwise a lot of my pokemon is rather untested and I don't know them that well yet," she admitted, "I'm helping Mr. Professor Elm in collecting data for the Pokedex you see."
