(team changes: Sabien switches in instead of Pia, Silvia gets the exp share to hold)
After Astrid had gotten the sick pidgeotto she had just caught to Nurse Joy, and found out what treatment it needed, the IPF called her and asked if she had time for a smaller task. Apparently someone had released a bird, a Doduo into the National Park and they asked if she couldn't try find it before it made too much trouble in there. The Bug Catching was coming up and it could be a problem if it made too big of an indent on the bug population, and it had already scared a couple of visitors who used the park to get away from the busy city life for a few moments. Astrid had thought briefly about taking her police focused team but decided against it, it wasn't a dangerous task at all and it might be worrying for the people using the park if the came in full uniform.
Astrid strolled down the path and enjoyed the well trimmed bushes and the early flowers which was blooming, until now she hadn't seen any signs of the doduo, so it might already have been caught by a passing trainer, or moved on. Helen was out and about and was searching the surrounding shrubbery they passed, and earned a few disgusted glances from nicely dress ladies, who clearly didn't know how stock full the park was of bugs anyway.

To Astrid this was literally a stroll in the park, it was relaxing and peaceful and she fully enjoyed it. After a while she thought it would be a good place to spent some time with some of her pokemon, some she hadn't had out for quite some time, and one of them was pretty skittish as well. Astrid started with Sabien, one of the young scatterbugs she had bred to help fulfill the boy's wish. The scatterbug didn't really seem interested in her but clearly liked the park and quickly went to investigate a nearby flower path, tasting the leaves and having fun crawling in between. The other one she let out was Rita, the nervous alolan rattata who didn't really listened to what Astrid was saying as she was busy looking around for any dangers and find the best way out if she needed it.
Helen paused to watch Astrid's attempt to get some contact with a couple of her pokemon but then went on with the search. Until now she hadn't seen any signs of the released bird which should disrupt the peace in here, but perhaps it wasn't even here. Helen moved in under some trees and something hit the ground right in front of Helen, and she jumped to the side and avoided what hit the ground right where she had been standing. She looked around and spotted a kakuna hanging from a branch, it was turned towards her and then shot another needle at her, which she dodged. "Hey! Stop it!" she warned it and it swung a bit in the wind, but then it faced her again it shot a needle at her once again, which she easily avoided. "Last warning! Stop it or I will make you!" She warned it but when it continued she retaliated. She shot some couple of dark beams at it to teach it some manners.

Kakuna was defeated!
Helen gained 2(!) levels, and is now Level 22! Helen gained +1 Happiness! Helen is trying to learn Fury Swipes. Delete a move to make room for Fury Swipes? Helen is attempting to evolve! Will you intervene? Silvia watched and learned, earning +1 Level! She is now level 24.

Both Helen's beams hit their mark and the kakuna swung in its string and stopped attacking her. She watched it closely for some time not sure if it had become unconscious or if it had just decided she was too much and pretended she wasn't there. A kakuna didn't really have much facial expression and this one didn't give anything away either. Helen looked around but couldn't see what should have prompted the cocoon to attack her, perhaps it had just been bored and hadn't thought of the consequences of its actions? As she relaxed and turned to leave she felt a sudden surge of energi inside, and stumbled as all her limps stretch suddenly making her gasping. When it stopped shortly after she was breathing hard and was surprised of the heaviness of her new body, she was in no doubt of what had happened but she had expected it to be such weird feeling, and to happen now so unceremoniously. What she had heard about evolving had made it sound amazing and like a big deal, and she had been looking forward to it, most pokemon did, but this just felt underwhelming and unpleasant and she felt like something was still missing. The ariados moved her limps to test them and winced of their soreness from the sudden growth they had just had but they worked fine and she had no trouble controlling them. She quickly noticed that a pair of her legs had moved to the top of her back and she wondered what used they had up there, a quick test on a tree reassured her she hadn't lost her climbing skills. She returned to the road and looked for Astrid, she hoped that her new size would only benefit in her work as an IPF pokemon but she worried a bit as she had been good at infiltrating before with her smaller size.
Astrid had been leading Rita and Sabien along the path in the hope of getting them to relax and pay a bit of attention to her. Until now it hadn't worked as Rita was busy scouting the area and Sabein kept crawling away to taste flowers or try climb a tree. It was while they were waiting for Sabien to make her way back out of a bush, that Rita spotted something threatening. She darted off and Astrid looked surprised after her, she called out but the rattata didn't listen and slammed into the side of a surprised looking ariados and then rushed off to hide in the bushes nearby. Sabien popped out of the bush to see what was going on and Astrid recalled her as she didn't have time to coax the bug with her.
"I am sorry, she is a bit skittish," Astrid said to the big spider as she passed it to find Rita again. "Helen! I need your help! Please come back!" Astrid called out and hoped her spider would hear her. The ariados stared openmouthed at her trainer, this certainly wasn't the reaction on her return she had expected!

Rita dashed through the bushes and first stopped when she came face to face with a tree full of green 'fruit', it looked really weird to her and she was not going to get anywhere near! They reminded her a bit of coconuts which she was used to, just as hard and heavy, but she also had a feeling that these 'nuts' were watching her! It was unsettling and she ducked low and sneaked away, heading for some tall grasses to hide in.
Astrid was panting as she pushed through the bushes, she hurried so much that she didn't really look where she was going and definitely not up in the trees! Helen had been following her while wondering how to make the old woman recognize her, and realize that she had evolved. When she noticed the tree full of metapods which Astrid was walking towards she ariados hurried forward and stood in the way. Astrid stopped abruptly and looked annoyed at the big spider. "I am in a hurry as one of my pokemon has run off, I do not have time for games" she said sternly to the big bug who simply pointed at the tree. Astrid's eyes widened when she saw the many cocoons. "Oh my goodness! I am sorry, thank you for warning me," she said to the ariados and gave the tree a wide berth as she made her way around. Soon she stood at a large grassy area which had not been mowed at all this year, the bugs certainly would love the place but it made it hard for Astrid to find her rattata.
Helen followed quietly, she decided that it was more important for now to help her trainer than to convince her of who she was. As long as Astrid wasn't scared of her or tried to chase her off.

Rita rushed through the grass in half panik and came face to face with a nincada who looked at her annoyed for disturbing the peace they had here otherwise. Rita could easily just have stepped back and went around and nothing would have happened but she was so used to being chased and everyone looking down at her that she wasn't going to take any chances. The nincada was startled when the rattata rushed at it with bared teeth but Rita was sure it would retaliate soon enough. She didn't wait to around to take it and instead leaped into the tall grass no matter if her teeth had met their mark or not.
Astrid had hesitated as she had reached the tall grass but as her calls for Rita and Helen hadn't made anyone appear and she had seen no signs saying to stay off the grass, she ventured into it. The ariados hadn't seem aggressive so Astrid wasn't worried about it, she did briefly wonder why it kept following her.
It was an upset and frustrated nincada which Astrid came across soon after. This one she worried would be aggressive to her and she chose to let out Yakul just in case. The skiddo waved warningly with her horns at the bug type but Astrid's touch of her horn before had told her the old woman wished her to not attack unless necessary. Helen decided that Astrid wasn't going to go far for the time being and began to circle out through the grass to try find the missing team mate, she was an IPF member before anything else and no matter her size.

The nincada clearly didn't care about who its opponent was, or perhaps it knew they were together or just expected anyone else to attack it like Rita had done. It decided to be the first to act now Yakul did look threatening, how should it know that the waving of horns meant nothing would happen if it stepped back and didn't act aggressive? To it, it pretty much looked like Yakul was telling it what it could expect to come in a moment. It rushed forward and latched to the skiddo and attempted to suck some energy from the grass type, which usually worked really well for it and made it last long enough win the battles in the end. It just.. didn't work this time.
Yakul bleated agitated when the nincada went in for an attack even though it didn't hurt her one bit. She sent out a flurry of leaves in its general direction to chase it off, and then for a good measure sent another batch of leaves at it to make sure it understood the point!
Astrid sighed when the nincada went in for the attack, but she stepped back and let Yakul handle it. She had a feeling Rita might have a saying in the nincada's foul mood and feared she would meet many more like this if she didn't found her skittish rattata soon.
Helen wasn't having much luck either, even with her increased size she couldn't see far in the grass, which was actaually taller than her in some places. She appreciated her new size though since it made it much easier to move around in it, than it would have been if she had been crawling closer to the ground. She spotted a ripple in the grass further out and carefully moved towards it to see if it was Rita or not, and attempt to not startle the black rattata.

Confused why its latest attack did absolutely nothing, the wild pokemon made another attempt at sucking some juices from the stout skiddo. Unfortunately it realized far too late that it was actually making Yakul stronger. It tried to harden up once again but another razor leaf took away all its fighting spirit. Nincada hurriedly scuttled away.
Yakul grew to LV 24 and gained +1 Happiness! (+7) She's trying to learn Take Down; forget an old move? Rita grew to LV 20 and gained +1 Happiness! (+2) [Multiplier used] She's trying to learn Assurance; forget an old move? Sabien watched studiously grew to LV 9! WHAT'S THIS!?! Sabien's trying to evolve; allow it? If so she would learn Protect & ability would change to Shed Skin.

Yakul's first barrage of leaves threw the nincada off her back, and its attempted retaliation only strengthened the skiddo's determination and she chased it off with the another razor leaf. She glared at the place the bug had disappeared and then snorted proudly and pranced back to Astrid to get praised for her good work. Astrid patted her side with a smile. "Well done my dear, I do hope it was not upset due to Rita but I guess we will never know," Astrid said warmly and coughed as some dust came flying. She quickly realized that the wind had picked up and was blowing the dust and sand from the paths around. "Oh no! We better find Rita quickly!" Astrid said and pulled her jacket up to cover her nose and mouth, "I have not seen any signs of the doduo so I guess it has either moved on or else we will have to come and look for it another day," she added muffled and Yakul moved to Astrid's other side in an attempt to act like a shield. It didn't work very well but Astrid was grateful nonetheless.
Rita continued to push her way through the tall grass but soon had to stop to catch her breath. Not that she felt safe in here, it was unknown territory to her and she didn't know half the smells or sounds there was around her, and she couldn't see any further than her own nose due to the dense grass. To make things worse dust started to swirl around above the grass, which didn't really affect her down here, but it drowned out any sound of someone approaching. The rattata's ears twisted and turned and she looked around warily, she was on high alert.
Helen continued her trek through the grass with grim determination, the sandstorm was not making it pleasant at all but she had a job to do.

Something moved near Rita and she leaped at it fangs at ready, it turned out to be a peaceful paras who just wanted to dig itself a hole to get out of the duststorm. It was not happy to be leaped upon with no warning and it was ready to pay her back for such rude aggressive actions. Rita was already scurrying through the grass in her attempt to run off, she probably would have failed this time if it hadn't been for Helen who had spotted her and came rushing towards her. "Rita! I'm with you! I just want to help!" Helen called after her but Rita dodged her and disappeared into the grass, instead Helen found herself face to face with the paras who was glaring at her. Well, if Helen was with Rita then she would have to take the consequences of her partner's actions.
Astrid scouted the grass. "There! That was Rita!" Astrid exclaimed muffled and pointed the black figure out only for her to disappear into the grass again. The old woman frowned, seemed like she would need some help getting her pokemon back, it was a bit embarrassing she had been sent here to look for a missing pokemon and then she missed one of her own.
