ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion
The young teenager with messy mousy brown hair rubbed the back of his neck nervously as he walked out of the Pokemon Center. The memory stuck to his temporal lobe in his hippocampus. A usually energetic and eager-to-help young pink-haired nurse that stood at the counter stared in worried frustration as he rushed in and tossed his Pokemon on the counter. “What were you thinking, pushing them to these limits?! You have to be more careful and mindful of your Pokemon’s health!” Her voice berated him as she wagged her finger accusingly at the young lad. He had ruffled the bottom edge of his soft blue T-shirt. It wrinkled across the infamous image of a powerful Latios soaring upwards through billowing clouds, causing the one eye to disappear amongst the folds. “I know I…” He started, stumbling over his words and finding it incredibly hard to speak up. “Knowing and doing are two separate things, young man! Falkner is tough, but that doesn’t mean you rush in unprepared and battle until there’s nothing left!”
She was right, though. His eyebrow bunched up so tight it would seem as if he had a unibrow stretching from one eye to the next save for the wrinkles in the center of his forehead giving away his unease. Kogasu ambled slowly down the route clinging to Zaiden’s rough dark denim jeans. “Chaa…” She cooed worriedly stealing glances occasionally up at her trainer. A single tear clung to the corner of Zaiden’s eyes though it couldn’t quite make the leap over his bottom eyelid to spiral down the young teenager’s soft tawny beige cheeks. A soft breeze tickled the edges of his hairline and caused the short strands to just barely sway in its grasp. Zaiden half-smiled then nodded and balled one fist before pounding it excitedly in the air. “You’re right, Kogasu. We have to face any and all obstacles together. I promised my parents. And I won’t break this promise.”
Zaiden’s footsteps picked up pace, causing the medium-sized scaly reddish-orange fire-lizard to nearly stumble as she tried to keep up. Her mouth split open in shock and bared her long, sharp pearly white fangs. She immediately caught herself and rushed to keep up with her trainer. What had gotten into him? Was that mean old nurse who didn’t know her Pidgey from her Skarmory causing him this much grief? Why, he shouldn’t have grabbed her and held her back when she tried to climb up onto the counter and show him what for! She was finding a new inner boldness and sense of confidence within her. No one was going to hold her back or make her trainer feel any type of way unless it was her doing. This pity party would get old fast if he didn’t start standing up for himself or at least letting her do it for him!
The medium-sized bipedal flame-tailed lizard, whose height came a little less than halfway to four feet, released her grip on her trainer’s leg and raced from the Pokemon center, up the ledge and past the GYM they had previously battled Falkner in towards Route 32. Zaiden waved after her and began jog-running as fast as he could to keep up. What was getting into his Pokemon?! Apparently, he needed to real her in soon – this confidence was going straight to her head! “Kogasu, slow down! Wait up! Hey, Kogasu!” He pushed past the tall greyish-brown trunks of the forested trees and leaped over ledges trying to keep up. Zaiden’s body sunk into a tall thicket of grass that nearly tickled his stomach as he spotted the tell-tale flaming embers of Kogasu’s tail several feet ahead. Is she trying to find something new to fight?! He wondered.
OOC: Zaiden takes advice from Nurse Joy poorly then has to chase after Kogasu who rushes onto Route 32. Please add 600 words to my egg! Word Count: 631.

Thunder rolled in the distance as the weather began to darken the sky, the tell-tale signs of a storm inching over the horizon. Falkner's gym fully behind them, the team now had the freedom to press on, which was all but mandatory for the aspiring champion. Thanks to a somewhat brash Charmeleon, Zaidan was left charging after his own Pokemon despite the weather and commands to stop. There was so much energy, an unspoken charge in the air as the storm rolled in and the adrenaline from a battle well fought fueled the electricity in both the air and in Kogasu's veins. Either way, the best thing to do about something one didn't like, IE Zaiden's behavior, was to do something to change it. Kogasu just seemed to be one to take matters into her own claws, is all. Unfortunately, the stunt hadn't gone unnoticed. A young trainer donned in orange and brown happened to see Kogasu breaking over the horizon. Eagerly brandishing a Pokeball in case this rare fire lizard was wild and catchable, Zaidan could catch the briefest bit of disappointment when he saw the young boy himself. It was clear Zaidan's yelling had reached him before Zaidan had been seen, but it was clear that the young trainer thought this was about to be one lucky battle. In an attempt to brush off the embarrassment, he immediately turned smug. " Whoah- I thought I was about to have a fun battle. Instead, all I see is an untrained Pokemon and a tired trainer." The boy smirked, crossing his arms and flipping his hat backwards to look 'cooler.' The pokeball on his belt clearly indicated he was a trainer, but due to his age and pristine clothing he definitely hadn't been in the game for too long. " Perhaps I should have a battle with you to make up for not nabbing this Charmeleon for my own team. Name's Gordon! Let me and my Pokemon show you how real training's done, yeah?" With a swift flick of his wrist, Gordon released the pokemon from it's capsule, revealing a dopey, yet happy, Wooper. Youngster Gordon has challenged you to a battle!
He's sent out Wooper (Level 13)!

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion
Heavy rainclouds cast a dark shadow over the world below. Thick, dark grey cumulonimbus clouds spirals upwards and outwards in the sky, rolling over the sun to completely obscure its bright golden rays that struggled to fight through. The golden galactic fire ball struggled, breaking through in sporadic moments only to be swallowed up by the next passing raincloud. A clap of thunder shook the earth and ripped through the clouds, echoing all around the air. Brightness illuminated the dark shadows for a brief instance, then dissipated. The crackling of a tree brought back reality and Zaiden scanned the area for dangerous signs, such as a possible forest fire, though things no smoke appeared in his gaze. The weather was growing heavy, a warning for the impending storm that prepared to captivate the landscape around him.
The medium-sized flame-tailed Pokemon skirted to a stop as her dark green eyes landed squarely on the youngster. She snorted and raised her long, sharp claws menacingly up as if to warn this novice trainer to step back. She was no longer a Charmander – the protruding horn that jutted from the center-back of her skull pronounced her previous evolution in an all-too-obvious telltale way. If this lad thought that he could take her on and win against her, he would have another thing coming for him. “Charmele Char!” “Challenge me!” Her voice roared bravely as she pumped her clawed hand up into the air for dramatic effects. “Charmeleon char meleon char Charmeleon!” “I long to defeat whatever you think can best me!” Zaiden came skidding to an abrupt stop before her, and seemed to have taken the youngster’s attention off of the Charmeleon altogether. Her eyes narrowed suspiciously, and she growled threateningly. Did he forget her for her novice trainer?!
Zaiden wheezed out heavy breaths as he struggled to find his voice. “Charmeleon are…known to be…quite difficult….to handle.” A gasped explanation as another bolt of electricity surged through the heavens above and illuminated the landscape. The light it cast seemed to make his opponent almost glow in an eerie and foreboding way. This youngster’s words hid a hint of truth and wisdom in their harsh undertones – if he ever hoped to have a Charizard and be as great as his father, he would have to learn how to properly raise and manage his Charmeleon. “Sorry to…disappoint…but she’s…mine.” He clasped his hands tightly on his dirty, jean-covered knees as he bent over and recovered himself.
Kogasu jumped forward, ever ready, and ever present to take on this would-be challenger. The messy-haired Zaiden pulled out a small red-and-white spherical device that doubled in size with the click of a button. A bright beam of light shot and pulled the hot-headed red lizard back inside of the contraption in and instance. Not this time, old friend. He thought as he recalled her without a moment’s notice. Zaiden then yanked another Pokeball that looked identical to the last out of his pocket and tossed it into the air with the click of a button. “Tackle.” Short, simple, sweet. Zaiden’s preferred manner of speech coming back into play as he called the bug out of hibernation.
A bright pink cocoon appeared at the end of the light beam and took form. Shiwa spun her huge, almost menacingly red eyes in this way and that in their sockets until she landed on her opponent. She shot the spikes out of her body in different direction and lifted herself up off the ground as she began to use them to propel herself forward. Whatever – whoever – her opponent was, she planned to slam full-force into them with her spikes with an aim to sink them deep into their flesh. “Cascoon! Cas cascoon!” “Prepare! Here I come!” Gordon, huh? Zaiden nodded as he catalogued the name. It took him several long minutes to think of sharing his name as the excitement of the battle captivated him. “I’m Zaiden.” He added like an afterthought as he kept his eyes glued squarely on his bug Pokemon. Zaiden rationed that there was a chance he would have to switch it out with another Pokemon eventually, depending on whatever this Youngster had up his sleeve.
OOC: Zaiden sends out Shiwa who uses Tackle. Please apply 600 words to egg. Word Count: 707.

"Oh this is going to be easy fight if all you got to toss at me is this bug. All right, wooper, use water gun." The wooper looks around and acts as if it is enjoying the rain. It been a while since they battled in a storm like this. She hears the command once she sees her opponent. It is a weak looking cascoon. >>Why would your trainer put such a weakling out to face me? Does your trainer have troubles with all of her Pokemon and you the only one who obeys?<< The wooper shakes her head and then obeys her trainer. A long stream of water animates from her mouth aimed straight at the cascoon. It his the target hard knocking the bug to the ground. Wooper figured it is already done only to be surprised when the cascoon lightly hit wooper on the side. Wooper is taken back more by the effort than the actual attack. >>So you do have a little bit of fight in you. I have to give you credit for trying to hurt me.<< Wild Encounter Weather: thunderstorms [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] [attr="class","qkt-clip"]wooper LV 13 HP 95% [39/41] [attr="class","qkt-wild-imgbox"] [attr="class","qkt-pkmn-img"] [attr="class","qkt-trainer-pkmn"] [attr="class","qkt-clip"]Shiwa LV 7 HP 19% [5/26] [attr="class","qkt-trainer-imgbox"] [attr="class","qkt-pkmn-img"] Wooper [water absorb]: normal Shiwa [Ability]: normal SP12 Wooper used water gun! ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion
Heavy rain poured down from the dark grey clouds above. It drenched the Pokemon and their trainers that were caught in its storm below. The soaking wet cocoon rolled over in the soaking wet, muddy grass after the Wooper’s strong water gun attack. She was severely underleveled and at a huge disadvantage in the rain. The pink oblong shaped Pokemon shot out large and impressive spikes to lift herself up over the mud and grass and began to hop away towards her young trainer. Shiwa was done with the battle and didn’t want anything to do with this fight anymore! She quit, she’s out, find another sap who loves to fight!
Zaiden ignored the boy’s taunts. The rain matted his usually messy mousy brown hair to his head, making it seemingly shorter than it already is. His chocolate brown eyes widened as he watched his Cascoon come bounding over in his direction. Was Shiwa already giving up the ghost in this fight and refusing to carry on for another round? Though, he noticed the sore spots on her shell and the way she was heavily breathing as she stopped at his feet and nodded in quiet understanding. The slowly metaphorizing bug Pokemon was too weakened to carry on and it would be cruel of him to ask her to raise herself up for another round. “Return, Shiwa.” He pulled out her ball and recalled her with a click.
A bright red light enveloped her for a second before it suctioned her back into the spherical device. This was a battle for his prized bird. Before the young teenager could reach for Hageshii’s ball, another Pokeball wriggled on the side of his belt and popped off. It rolled onto the ground before splitting open with an illuminating light. Two lightning bolts surged in the heavens above, making the light of the Pokeball dimmer by comparison, as a small, white mammalian finned-footed Pokemon emerged and began waddle-galloping over to the makeshift arena. It was his time to shine, and he was going to shine as bright as the sun itself! The Pinniped raised himself up on his flipper and began clapping his finned-feet excitedly as he barked and honked with enthusiasm. "Seel seel seel seeeeel!" “You look like tons of fun!” Uroko called out to his companion.
Zaiden stared at his Pokemon in confusion and misunderstanding. He didn’t call the young seal pup out onto the battlefield. Yet, here Uroko was, ready and willing to give it his all. He knelt down in the grass and started feeling through the long, soggy green blades. The ground was disgustingly wet. It buckled under his weight and allowed his fingers to sink into its muddied depths below ever-so-slightly. After several minutes, the tawny beige trainer managed to find and retrieve his water Pokemon’s Pokeball and quickly put it back up where it belonged. Please don’t fail me now, Uroko. Know what you’re doing, at least! He bit his lip and considered his moves.
Uroko didn’t quite know any water moves, like his opponent. Even if he did, Zaiden doubted that they would make much of a difference given the similarities of both the Wooper and the Seel. Growl would help lower the attack of the other trainer’s Pokemon depending on what other moves they may have up their sleeves, but would it really make a big difference for their water gun? Maybe? But it was doubtful. And Zaiden definitely didn’t want an encore. So, that meant that only one move remained, given the limited knowledge that his pinniped had when it came to the world and ways of Pokemon battled. “Headbutt, Uroko.”
The Pinniped’s soft green eyes narrowed with delight as Uroko lowered his head and began running in an odd waddle towards his opponent. He held his horn pointed dangerously at the Wooper’s body, ready to rush and chase him to headbutt him as powerfully as he could. He was the star of this show now! All the lights were on him, and he was ready to dance his way onto the stage to make his grand entrance! Oh, how they would all seem him now – the brave and powerful Seel that managed to easily thwart a Wooper with ease! But he couldn’t put the cart before the Ponyta. Uroko had to show them all why he was in it to win it first.
OOC: Recalled Shiwa and sent out Uroko instead. Uroko uses Headbutt. Also word count 730. Please add 600 to the egg.

"And now its running off! See Wooper, I said my special training would work!" Gordon said with a grin, "It's good someone knows when they have enough when the trainer doesn't, isn't it?" he asked his pokemon while looking smugly at Zaiden. The rain continued to pour down in ropes and the young trainer wiped water of his face a few times, before he turned his cap around again so he could actually see what was going on in front of him. Wooper was back with a dopey face and jumped back from one foot to the other. "We'll bring this home no prob'! We'll beat his whole weak team and then take on that charmeleon in the end, which has no chance in this weather! Who brings a fire type out in a weather like this?!" Gordon shouted the last part to be heard over a loud thundercrack which threatened to drown him out. He narrowed his eyes to stare through the water, but Zaiden had answered him before so he should be able to hear him. "Do you have anything that can be a challenge for my great wooper? Don't you wish you had one of your own?" He called cupping his hands around his moth to make sure he was heard. This was too easy. "Cat's got your tongue?" He grinned. "A new pokemon! Now we gotta be fast Wooper! Blast it back before it really gets out!" Gordon shouted and pointed dramatically towards Zaiden, Wooper got what he meant and the dopey expression changed when she turned her face at her opponent. She grinned devilishly as she took a deep breath and expelled a strong water gun at the pokemon coming at them. It took them a moment to recognize what it was. "A seel?!" Gordon squealed and his hands flew up beside his mouth and he tripped eargerly, making his wooper paused and glance back at him. She glared hatefully back at Uroko. Gordon stopped abruptly and pulled his cap down to hide his reddening face, he looked up and laughed high pitched and cleared his throat. "That's not going to help you, Wooper, give it a Mud Shot!" He ordered smugly but his eyes had a distant look to them and they kept getting drawn in by Uroko. Wooper grinned dopey and gave her trainer a nudge, which wasn't noticed and she turned to stomp towards the seel. "Fun? Fun?! I'll show you fun! And you will go back crying!" Wooper spat, boiling with rage, "Stay away from my trainer! Don't steal all the attention!" She spat but then Uroko was over her and she had to fight to avoid getting completely impaled by his horn. "Are you crazy?!" She screeched at him, panting with a few scratches but otherwise unharmed. ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion
The thunder rolled with a loud crack through the thick, billowing storm clouds. Flashes of lightning illuminated the world in sporadic moments, changing the scene in a strobe light of brightness and darkness as the two Pokemon faced off against each other. Zaiden raised an eyebrow up at the other lad. He was just another trainer, not too much unlike Zaiden, whose personality could have been mistaken for anything but a bully until the lad donned in a bright orange baseball cap and matching shirt started to hurl insults at Zaiden. How did he expect wild fire Pokemon to survive the elements if a little rain would knock them out in one go? Weaken them, probably. But…no chance?
Zaiden shrugged his shoulders and dropped his eyes back on his dancing, swaying goofy puffball of a water Pokemon. Uroko rocked himself back and forth from one finned foot to the other. His large, dark eyes whose pupils seemed to encompass them entirely stared down his opponent with his goofy grin. Two large tusks shot out from his lower jaw like an underbite. Occasionally, the seal would push himself up into the air so that he could clap his finned feet together enthusiastically. “Seel seel seel, seeel! Seel!” “Fun fun fun, lots of fun! Yes” He arfed and barked at the bipedal water salamander. The blue skinned water type with its three large, dark blue slashes across its abdomen seemed upset. Was she not prepared for Seel to come out and show her what it meant to put on a good performance? He had to admit, that spotlight was just so becoming for him.
Did Zaiden wish that he had a Wooper of his own? That was a question that crawled to the front of his mind and echoed. He hadn’t considered much what he actually wanted, but he knew he needed one of every kind of Pokemon there was. “Yes.” A matter-of-fact tone but almost lifeless to their depths. Zaiden would take a wooper within a heartbeat if only to help with his Pokedex and to help him with his own collection of sorts. All Pokemon were special in their own way and could be quite the valiant fighters if you raised them right. This was something that his dad taught him over and over again, and now it was something that he was learning firsthand. I’d rather a Raticate and a Golduck first. He admitted, as he tried to piece together the broken pieces of his memories and his father’s old Pokemon.
“Headbutt.” A loud clap of thunder shook the earth and was accompanied nearly simultaneously by a shot of lightning. The rain pummeled down in thick droves and almost blinded the young teenage boy as strived to keep his gazed locked firmly on the Pokemon battle at hand. The almost glowing white Pokemon of his became more of a blur as Uroko waddle-galloped after his opponent. The slippery wet, muddied ground did not bother the flippered Pokemon as he traversed across the ground and gave huge whacks of his tail to send bits of mud and debris up into the air in the opposite direction behind him. “Seeel seel seel seeeel?” “Why would I want anything to do with your trainer?” Uroko asked, confused, as he lowered his head like a battering ram and galloped in a headlong lock aiming to crash into the amphibious water-lizard. This Pokemon seemed much wilder than he was expecting for a trainer battle and it made even Uroko question how long she’d been with her trainer. “Seel, seel. Seel seel seeeel. Seel seel, seel. Seeeel.” “Relax, little Wooper. I’ll win this thing easy. The show’s my spotlight, after all. It’s where I belong.” He cooed at her in a sweet promise and was blissfully unaware of how it could have also sounded like a threat.

Zaiden's deadpan answer to his question about wanting a wooper took Gordon quite by surprise and he was silent for a bit with a frown as he tried to guess if Zaiden had agreed he wanted a wooper or if he had confirmed a cat had taken his tongue. Whatever the right answer was, the boy certainly didn't know how to react to it and he was glad a new pokemon arrived which he could focus on instead. And what a pokemon! Wooper was not at all blind to how her current opponent had made her trainer star-struck and what it might have of consequences. "Don't lie to me, you come prancing and tries to lure everyone to you and forgetting the ones they should hold dear. But I'm not falling for it and I'll stop you before you do anymore harm," she threatened him quietly. The wooper looked back and sent her trainer a hopeful smile, which rewarded her with a hesitant one in return. "Mud Shot Wooper," Gordon ordered and she turned to Uroko with a glare, "now you are going down!"Wooper ducked her head in response to a crash of thunder and too late discovered how close Uroko had come, she did her best to dodge him but suddenly her foot wasn't on the muddy ground but up in the air and the seel rammed his horn into her side, making her scream. "Hey... your yes before, was that about wanting a wooper?" Gordon said hesitantly and rubbed his hands a bit, "do you.. do you want to trade?" His voice was shaking nervously and he feebly gestured towards Uroko. Wooper screamed again and turned to stare at Uroko with crazy eyes, "Foul magic!" A deep breath ended with a blast of liquid mud which hit Uroko at the side of his head and sending him sliding over the mud. Wooper's expression was matching the darkness of the sky above and she began to stomp towards the seel. ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion
Soft chocolate brown eyes watched the two water types duel it out in quiet suspense. The lad’s lower lip curled underneath the top rows of his pearly white teeth. The strange blue amphibian with its weird, goofy grin was undeniably strong. Was it due to a training difference that Zaiden hadn’t quite figured out, or was it due to something else? The strange lizard-like footed creature shot out a goopy brown mixture of dirty, gritty water. They depend on me to guide them. That means that I need to carefully consider their moves. He thought and tried to recall what his father might have done in the same instance.
Oh, but he was so lost. Zaiden felt like a fish out of water in the fight, watching this axolotl weaken each Pokemon successively almost as easily as the young trainer was able to send them out. He hadn’t planned on Uroko joining the party. No. This finned-footed companion of his came waddling out and prancing about on his own volition. What did the young pinniped think it was doing, shooting out and daring this more advanced Pokemon to take it on in a Pokemon battle? The lad’s brows furrowed in a deep-seated sort of worry. He pulled out a red-and-white Pokeball and recalled his Pokemon with the click of a button.
"Seel seel seeel, seel!" “You can’t stop the show, darling!” Uroko clapped with his finned-feet enthusiastically. He landed back on the muddy ground and thumped his dual-flipper tail against the wet earth. "Seel seeeel seel seel see-" “I’ll show you what a real perform-“ The seel’s words were cut off in mid-sentence with the blast of a bright red light. Zaiden placed the Pokeball back up on his belt and fumbled as he reconsidered Hageshii. Instead, he pulled off a different yet identical spherical ball and tossed it out with ease. “Gen’ie. Shadow Sneak.” He called out.
The strange white shuppet reminiscent of an oddly-shaped doll with a cloth draped over its form shot out and floated around with delight. He was free. He floated around the area in search of his companions, who were all safely nestled in their Pokeballs, with alarm. "Shuppet. Shuppett, Shuppett. Shupp?!" “Hageshii, Kogasu, Baunsu? Guys?!” Did his joke go too far with Baunsu. That was obvious to them, but it wasn’t obvious to him. Why did no one understand the value of a good joke. “Gen’ie?” Zaiden chimed with a raise of an eyebrow as if reminding him that he had a task to do.
The ghostly apparition floated through different tree trunks and up into the canopies above as he searched. Gen’ie then vanished entirely into thin air, before appearing with just his head floating on top of Zaiden’s. “Gen’ie. Shadow Sneak.” Zaiden repeated himself and snapped his fingers impatiently. Ok, so this wasn’t going as planned, either. Meanwhile, the Shuppet kept sticking out his tongue and shaking his head above Zaiden’s in comical poses. Gen’ie’s shadow cut itself in half and would outstretch itself like a dark figure across the ground. He was planning on enveloping the strange handless and armless blue amphibian with his shadows to try to slam down and try to clasp around his opponent and would have to hope that his target didn’t catch on or try to move out of the way.
“Uroko’s young…” Zaiden added as an afterthought to the Youngster’s offer. He frowned for a second when he considered just how young his Pokemon companion was, then smiled again when he recalled everything they had been through together. “But no thanks.” He added, commenting on Gordon’s previous offer to trade. He could never truly part with his Pokemon companion and wouldn’t want to give up the chance to own a Dewgong in the future. Uroko just needed a firmer hand to guide him. His whole team did.
OOC: Switching in Gen'ie then using Shadow Sneak. Word Count: 641.

Youngster Gordon is a little disappointed at the refusal of a trade. At the same time he understood some trainers like keeping Pokemon they have caught or were chosen by them. He is enjoying the fight even with the thunderstorm overhead. The biggest concern is getting home and drying off once this is done. One thing Youngster Gordon noticed is the lack of control this trainer has over the Pokemon. He noticed the switch of Pokemon and decided to get the attention of his new opponent. "Are you having troubles controlling your Pokemon? Do you have a gym badge or are they far enough along to need one? Your ghost looks like it was hunting for something or someone." The youngster shakes his head to partly get the water out of his hair but also to refocus on the fight. Maybe a water gun will get the attention of this wandering ghost. "Alright, wooper, let us use a water gun to get this one's attention." After the ghost figured out what to do, Gordon followed it up with another water gun. "Now we have its attention, let us see how it like getting even wetter. Go for another water gun." Little to wooper or Gordon's knowledge, the shadow sneak move is already behind the wooper and attacks the ground\water type catching it by surprise. Wooper recovers enough to get the water gun out if a bit weaker than it could have been with a more focused effort. ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion
The beige trainer narrowed his eyes skeptically on his opponent. Zaiden wasn’t sure if it was his own moods that seemed to steal away his emotions or if it was something else that seemed to crawl under his skin. Maybe his newly evolved fire-lizard, whose new tempered nature that caused her to lash out, was boiling over with this young man’s remarks. It nagged at the back of his mind how this kid questioned his capability to raise his own Pokemon. But he couldn’t let his emotions boil over and cause him to lose sight. Plus, it would behoove him to rationalize from the other trainer’s point of view.
Were his Pokemon ruling the roost around here? Probably looked like it. Did they do their own things, regardless of what Zaiden asked? Most likely seemed so. Did Zaiden have a very useful way for communicating with his own Pokemon? He was still learning this, so not so much. Although, his earlier methods felt more natural and holistic. Commanding Zaiden wouldn’t feel right. That wasn’t what Pokemon training was about. It couldn’t have been, or else…his dad wasn’t like that. His mom wasn’t like that. No.
This kid was new just like him. He was trying to figure out the ropes and understand how everything works. What knowledge could Youngster Gordon, clad in his short black shorts and bright orange-red shirt with his backwards-facing baseball cap pressed firmly to his head, have? He was so ready and willing to trade away for the next shiny toy that he was trying to trade a Pokemon he was in the midst of having battle in a Pokemon battle, even. Zaiden calmed and smiled. He then looked up at Gen’ie who tilted down and licked him with his long, sloppy ghost tongue. Zaiden laughed and wiped his face with a shrug. Gen’ie was just playful. Had he been looking for his teammates that Zaiden normally allowed him to travel with? Probably.
He raised his hands up to Gen’ie, then lowered them as if he were going to drop them to the ground. Zaiden mimicked Gen’ie previous attack in a demonstration. His hands stretched out on either side of Zaiden’s body and she shoved them forward in a weird, snatching motion as if he were sneaking up and capturing a butterfly in midair. The strange white cloth-like Pokemon with its wide blue eyes and singular horn tilted its head for a second. Confusion caused it to scrunch up its face and wrinkled seemed to crease its cloth-like appearance. After a moment of considering what Zaiden was trying to make out, he smiled brightly and nodded enthusiastically. He floated up and focused all his attention on his shadows. They shrank and stretched in odd manners as they soared across the ground after his blue companion.
Zaiden pulled out a small pouch-like satchel from his bookbag an pulled back the top cloth to uncover a small pin-like object. It was a small silver pendant shaped like an odd, upside-down U. Small black lines marked out what appeared to be wings. He held the Zephyr badge up to show his opponent before hastily packing it back up and putting it away. “They’ve got personality.” He added with a smirk as he snapped his fingers and pointed at his opponent. “Are you ready to play?” The ghostly apparition called out to the strange blue axolotl as its shadows raced excitedly across the ground. Gen’ie started laughing in a strange, almost scary fashion. “I’ve never seen your kind before. Tell me, are you afraid of the dark?”
OOC: Gen'ie uses Shadow Sneak. Word Count: 600. If the battle ends please apply multiplier to Shiwa.

A look of surprise and a loud gasp came out of the youngster. "How...how did you get that? I've been told Falkner is a tough gym leader. He had to pass a rigorous test set up by the Pokemon Council. Rumor has it his father personally trained him before he disappeared." After a few moments of reflection, Youngster Gordon gets a bit more serious. "Maybe I should take you more seriously even if your Pokemon have their independent streaks. I am curious why you are using your hands as if some sort of sign language for your Pokemon. Let us see how well this ghost pokemon likes a little mud in its face with mud shot." The wooper replied by looking around for some large mud piles and when she finds a good, she takes her foot and flings it up at the ghost Pokemon nailing it in the face. The wooper jumps a couple of inches off the ground in celebration. When Gordon saw how hard the mud shot landed, he jumps up for joy just like his wooper with one arm up. He almost slips as he lands back down on the soft ground. "Yeah, take that you floating ghost. How do you like having mud in your eyes?" ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion
A clap of thunder roared through the skies above. The bright burst of energy and light that followed after illuminated the youngster’s face as he gasped. Zaiden could see how the other trainer’s eyes widened in surprised and watch his mouth spiral into the typical shocked expression. It was interesting what other trainers found mesmerizing. A simple badge – the item that he had to collect several of – left this youngster awestruck. In another time and place, maybe Zaiden would be impressed with his own work as well.
What did he learn from his GYM battle, though? He has Gen’ie use a ghost type move on a normal type Pokemon, which resulted in a net zero damage for his time and gave the Pidgey more time to damage his Pokemon. Gen’ie was a handful then as he is now. Every bit as spunky and mischievous, but would Zaiden really need to reel in that spunky personality of his or could they learn to work together despite it? Although he managed well against Pidgey, Gen’ie was knocked out by Pidgeotto.
The youngster became quite serious shortly after examining Zaiden’s prized token from his previous GYM battle. Zaiden’s tilted his head for a brief second before straightening up his appearance. When his tongue felt thick and unable to easily summon words as they once did, it was just as simple for him to use his hands to direct his Pokemon’s attacks. Right now was one of those moments. Zaiden could feel his heart racing inside of his chest and pounding hard against his ribcage. His head felt a bit light from the anticipation and worry that doubled inside of him mentally. It was nothing that they couldn’t handle, but he would be sure to take a rest after the battle. Besides, maybe everyone wanted to come out together to stretch their legs…or wings…or shell?
Zaiden nodded dumbly to orange shirt and black shorts wearing youngster. He had to suppose that some may take him as being rude when he didn’t speak in full sentences, and it only made his anxiety and inability to summon his words appropriately harder on him. He had to stay focused though. The messy-haired teenager tilted his head up and examined his ghostly friend. One look at Gen’ie told him all that he needed to know on how well his little companion was fairing, and it wasn’t good. The mud attack that hit his ghost Pokemon and subsequently leaked onto his head and shoulder, making his hair even messier, had taken its toll on his Pokemon. I wanted to heal Shiwa up and let her come back out to finish this… He thought with a mental grumble as he realized this was going to foil his plans.
Let the spiky pink cocoon out now, in the midst of this wet and muddy environment, and risk her falling before he could heal her? Heal her now and risk Gen’ie falling before he could switch them out? Then there was Uroko, but the slap-happy seal who seemed way too enthusiastic to battle wasn’t fairing any better than the rest of them. This meant that his only real options was his hot-headed and short-tempered flame-tail or his shiny and brave Hageshii. Come to think of it, was Hageshii teaching Kogasu to be just as hot-headed as he normally was?
“…Uh-ne…more…” Zaiden choked on his words and recalled the ghostly apparition with a click on a button. He would then pull off another identical Pokeball and toss it up into the air with the click of a button. A bright golden bird appeared soaring high above the earth in a flash of red light that was illuminated by a nearly perfectly timed flash of lightning. The Spearow cawed up to the heavens above with it’s short, sharp pink beak and outstretched its white-tipped, bright golden wings on either side of its body. Before Zaiden could think to instruct his Pokemon, the Spearow would magnificently dive off against its opponent after spotting the tiny blue water Pokemon with its pink antennas on either side of its head. “You are enemy. One chance forfeit was before I appeared.” He cawed out with his clawed feet outstretched in hot pursuit of his opponent. “Any side not our side is wrong side. Prepare yourself!” He warned the Wooper.
OOC: Zaiden switches out Gen'ie for Hageshii. Hageshii uses Pursuit. Word Count: 725.

The wooper got even more ecstatic in her celebrations when she realized Gordon had joined in and that she had his attention and interest again. "Huh?" Gordon paused to call out as he hadn't heard what Zaiden said, but he went quiet a moment as the ghost disappeared in a flash and his opponent pulled out another pokeball. How many did Zaiden have? Then the boy grinned and turned to his Wooper, who perked up and looked hopeful at him. "He needs to switch again, we're winner over a trainer who has a badge!" He said eagerly and she grinned and straightened proud while realization slowly spread on Gordon's face. But.. but that would mean that we're strong enough to win over Falkner! He gasped awed and laughed in disbelief while he pulled his cap off and ran a hand through his soaking wet hair. He put it back down firme on his head with a confident smile, "alright Wooper, you are the best pokemon I have ever had and we're going to win this!" He peptalked his pokemon who jumped with joy. "Time for a Water Gun, let's take advantage of the weather and go all the way!" He shouted with an arm raised, and no well timed flash of lightning to back him up and make the moment epic. Wooper didn't care and spun around to face her new opponent and spewed her water at him. Hageshii popped out of his pokeball all majestic and spread his wings as he challenged the weather, and got hit right in the belly with the rain enforced Water Gun which knocked him out of balance and sent him spiraling towards the ground. He was quick to regain control and turned the fall into an elegant dive. Gordon's face was blank with awe and his arm fell down the site as she stared at the shiny bird which came towards him, to him the world had slowed down and Hageshii was lightened up by some godly glow. Wooper glared at the spearow as he came close, not at all impressed by him and his look. "Never! You're just a show-off!" She spat and she buckled down to be ready to meet him, "I have beaten all your friends, why do you think you have any chance?" She taunted and Hageshii's claws found her soft skin and ripped her to the ground, where she lay still. Another flash of lightning and Gordon blinked as if he woke from a dream. He looked blankly at the fainted wooper at his feet, and then up at Hageshii who was returning to Zaiden after another glorious victory. Gordon ran a hand over his face and fumbled with a pokeball until he succeeded in recalled his pokemon, he watched the pokeball in his hands silently for a bit, before a smile slowly spread on his face. It was a confident boy who stepped over to Zaiden, a boy whose eyes kept drawn to the shiny spearow and his golden feathers. "That was an awesome battle!" He exclaimed and fumbled with something in his pocket to find the money he then handed to the victor, "I might have lost but it was a close one and I'm so close to challenge Falkner myself. My special training is working!" He explained cheerfully and glanced at Hageshii again with hesitation. "May.. may I take a picture?" He asked hopefully and pointed at the spearow, if allowed he would quickly find his phone and do so, grinning at what he had taken, "or else my friends are never going to believe me!"He grinned and said his goodbyes before he ran back towards Violet to get out of the rain and to tell his friends who he almost had beaten a trainer with a gym badge and that he had seen a shiny pokemon! Hageshii finished the bout and grows +2 levels to [lvl 16]! He can learn Aerial Ace if he forgets something else. Gen'ie helped and had fun and grows +1 level to [lvl 15] Uroko also helped and grows +1 level to [lvl 10] Shiwa did all she could and grows +1 level to [lvl 8] Zaiden got £160 for winning.

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion
The light blue slick-skinned Pokemon with its pink antennas and three dark blue stripes on its belly shot out a high-velocity stream of water that jettisoned its way to Zaiden’s shiny bird and knocked it out of the sky. The young trainer gasped and placed both of his tawny beige hands on either side of his face to gently press at his cheeks. Hageshii folded, like a crinkled up wrapper, and plummeted to the world below. For a moment, he was nothing more than a bright spectacle of colors dropping from the heavens as though they had cast him out to send him back to earth. A happy grin slowly played on the edges of Zaiden’s face and his stiff arms relaxed as he watched Hageshii reclaim the airways and lift himself up. As soon as the Spearow’s claws found the Wooper’s soft belly and ripped across the dark-blue and light-blue colorations, it seemed like the match was over.
Enough to win against Falkner? His heart raced inside of his chest like a bird caught in a cage who only longed for freedom and the chance to fly again. Zaiden’s chocolate brown eyes widened for a bit, then softened. How could he find the words to tell this kid that Falkner had taken just about every bit of his team? That Zaiden had to rely on all of his key players – including the hot-headed flame-tailed lizard that he purposefully kept out of the battle for the time being – to see his way to victory? If this youngster Gordon added a few more key players onto his time then Zaiden was positive that he would be a key player against the blue-haired GYM Leader known as Falkner. Though, now Zaiden had to wonder if Falkner’s Pidgey wouldn’t be used to wear the Wooper down before the inevitable switch to his roosting companion Pidgeotto?
The shirt-and-shorts youngster stepped confidently over to Zaiden and exchanged some funds that the mousy-brown haired teenager would quickly stash away into the pocket of his denim jeans with a smile and a nod. His heart seemed to calm a little as Zaiden pulled a smile over his face and nodded. “Y..ea..h.” A low and light choke on his words as he agreed with Gordon. For better or worse and despite the youngster’s onslaught of retorts that he seemed to have ready during the battle, it was a pretty awesome battle. It also showed him something else. His team needed more work and he needed to find a way to consistently instruct his team. Choking up in the moment and losing his voice wouldn’t help. Neither would be allowing himself to become distracted during the midst of a rather intense and focused battle. One thing occurred to him that would help him in the long run during these rather intense meetings that seemed to steal away his voice and that was his hands. He could gesture his Pokemon with their moves, but first he would need to work with them to ensure that they knew what each gesture meant.
And work with them when they learned new moves. It was a plan, at least. Now to see how well it would work, huh? Youngster Gordon asked to take a picture of his shiny bird and Zaiden nodded enthusiastically with a smile. He held out his arm in a curved fashion similar to most bird owners and had Hageshii settle for the Picture. Zaiden called out Uroko, Gen’ie, and the rest of his team as well and gestured towards each one of them as he exchanged numbers with Gordon and allowed him to take all the photos that he would want of his team. After they had the chance to give Gordon’s Wooper enough time to come to her senses, Zaiden would snap a picture of his Wooper with his cellphone before departing on his way to head back to a previous route.
OOC: Zaiden is leaving the Route, thread finished. Hageshii forgets Peck and learns Aerial Ace. Word Count: 655.
