As she stepped away from the professor's lab, Yui smiled as she looked down at the ball in her hand. "Finally....let's have a great journey together." she said, gently kissing the pokeball. "I am happy to meet you. Now come on out Eimi!" she said, throwing the ball as it landed, a bright light shining in the form of a squirtle as the little pokemon formed. "Squirtle!" she said cheerfully.
Yui looked up, the sun was already starting to set. "I arrived so late....I am glad I made it before he closed for the day..." she muttered before shaking her head. "Well then, we should get going if we are going to get somewhere to rest for the night, let's go Eimi!" she said, starting to walk. "Squirtle squirt!" cheered the little turtle pokmon happily as she followed after her trainer. It had been a difficult choice between the three, she had honestly been hoping for an eevee, but she figured that would be too much to expect such a rare pokemon to start with. In the end squirtle seemed like a good choice. She did love the ocean, and having a pokemon that she could ride the seas with eventually sounded great! It would definitely safe on the cost of getting a ride after all.
With her new partner in hand, she took her first steps outside of the town, entering the first route as she walked through the grass on her way towards Cherrygrove City. She still had a ways to go, and knew she likely wasn't going to get there tonight. "Man, I wish I could have taken one of our ponyta with me...all this walking is going to suuuck..." she groaned, mostly to herself as the little squirtle gave her a confused look.
Summer had been nice around this route, a good mixture of water and sun gave plenty of things to eat for worms like wurmple, and if you ignored the occasional missing friend whenever a human or a bird got too close, this was heaven! The young wurmples who had been hatched this year couldn't have asked for a better start. This one in particular had really enjoyed life under the sun and had only confusion to the elders attempts to teach it about storing food and fill a nest with grasses. It couldn't wrap its head around why they should do that with food a plenty and nights often too warm to sleep so it certainly wasn't interested in filling it up with things which could slow down aircirculation. The more experienced wurmples did their best but this young one brushed them and their weird ideas off as some sort of old tradition which wasn't needed anymore but the older ones just couldn't let go of. The older wurmples shook her heads sadly as they knew where it would go but they had to give up.
The sun today had been less warm than usual but still not a problem, the young wurmple was just happy it wasn't gasping in the heat. It had found something very strange in a tree, several of the leaves had become yellow! It had spent quite some time investigating but hadn't come any closer to any explanation, perhaps the tree had just become old? It had searched the area and found more of them on other trees and it had become a bit worried as these yellow leaves didn't taste as juicy as the green ones. It had plucked a few and had carried them to its nest: a little hole in a tree, which still carried green leaves, and planned on taking the strange ones to an older wurmple who lived near by to ask about it.
It had settled down for the night but had woken not long after shivering, which was completely unheard of! What was going on? All its muscles were shaking and it feared it had become poisoned by the strange colored leaves, it climbed to the hole of its nest with the plan of going to its experienced friend but paused to gape at the world outside. The grass had become white! It blinked a few times as and exhaled forcefully, only to stare puzzled at its own breath which was now visible in the cold air. What was going on?! The wurmple carefully climbed down and was rather unnerved by the crunching of the stiff and cold grasses below it, but it carried on, it needed answers!
One answer it learned on its way, moving actually helped a bit on its shivering and it felt a bit more warm, although the chilly grass sucked away its warm as soon as its muscles made it. It paused as it heard louder crushing and it instantly started shivering more, it pouted irritated and tried, fruitlessly, to force its muscles to stop. A human and her blue shelled pokemon entered the clearing and the wurmple hesitated, it knew the two legs could be dangerous, but on the other hand a battle might be just what it needed to get these stupid muscles to act properly again. It called out its name and crawled forward determined, although it was clear to anyone how it shook from the cold.
Wurmple [lvl 6] is reezing its butt off and wants a battle in the hope of getting warmed up. Frost weather is in effect for this battle.
Yui and Eimi walked along the frost covered grass, whens he turned back the clearing of the frost exposed where she walked. Okay so maybe going into the forest as the sun was setting, and while it was cold, wasn't the best idea. But, she was determined to stick to her plan. "I don't want to delay any further." she told herself as she zipped up her coat and kept walking. The young girl was eager for what she mind find out here. She had never wandered through the clearings along, and had only been to this area with her father once when they were delivering and order fresh milk from their miltanks.
"Aren't you cold Eimi?" she asked, turning to the squirtle who seemed un-phased by the cold. "Squiiirtle!"she said with a smile, the little turtle pokemon wagging her tail happily as she started to jump on bits of frost in the grass, seeming to enjoy the feeling of the crunch beneath her feet. "Well, guess not!" Yui said as she smiled. "You're quite silly you know that?" she said continuing to walk. Her jet black hair stood out amongst the greenary and frosted foliage, though the tips were starting to pick up some of the frost as she passed by pushes and long grass. With each step her boots left behind a little 'crunch' as the thin bits of ice shattered beneath her.
Suddenly, Eimi stopped and turned as there was a sound. "Squir..." she said, curiously watching as the red worm pokemon appeared. "Oh! That's a wurmple! Why hello there! Pretty sure your species is invasive here...buuut that's not really my problem." Yui said with a light chuckle, approaching the small thing with a bright smile. "What are you up to? Oh boy the first pokemon I met after leaving! This is so exciting!" she said, squeeing a bit before she took a deep breath and composed herself. She noticed it shivering as she frowned. "Oh dear...are you cold? I don't really have much to warm you up with.." she said, rooting through her bag. While Yui did that, Eimi stepped towards the wurmple, trying to assess if it plans to pose a threat or not.
The wurmple sees the squitle and is excited for a chance to warm up with a battle. The wurmple waits a little and realizes the squirtle is standing there waiting on it. Wurmple isn't going to disappoint the blue turtle as the worm scoots and jumps towards the softer parts of the opponent. It hits the left leg of the squirtle anticipating a counter attack any moment. Wurmple ignores whatever the human is doing.
>>Are you going to come at me, blue turtle, or just stand there guarding your pet human? A little battle would be good to get blood flowing. Is the water inside of you too cold to come out?<<
The wurmple continues to stare at the new opponent trying to be ready for anything.

(Squirtle should get a move in this battle. If you choose not to, the wurmple will get a free shot. At this low of level, every move counts.)
Eimi was still eyeing the other pokemon when it suddenly jumped at her. "Squirtle!" (Hey! What gives!?) she shouted, she tried to avoid the attack but wasn't quick enough as she took a hit from the tackle. So it was a fight then. Yui's eyes were big at the attack, followed by a smile. "Well, I wasn't going to fight you but if that's what you want, Eimi!" she said, getting the attention of the little turtle pokemon. "Ready for our first fight!? Let's make it count! Use Tackle!"
With a nod Eimi turned back to the wurmple and charged with a tackle. "Squiiiirtle!"(Don't think it will be that easy!) Yui could feel the rush of the battle, she did mock battles back at home, but usually was breaking them up when the pokemon would quarrel. This was her first time actually participating in a real battle, even if it was against a little wurmple it was still exciting! The frost wasn't going to slow them down!

The small pink caterpillar looks a little sad and confused when the Squirtle responded. Eimi seemed upset that the small bug type came charging at her in an attempt to warm herself up. Didn’t the blue turtle realize how cold it was outside? The chilly air was practically freezing the small pink Pokemon to death! The Wumrple needed to keep moving and keeping firing away at other Pokemon to keep itself warm. “I just wanted to warm up!” The pink Pokemon waved its barbed head back and forth as it stood up tall. It spoke what was on its mind openly and honestly. “The colder temperatures are really hard on us wild Pokemon without shelter. We often have to fight to keep ourselves warm!”
The bushy-tailed turtle came charging forward and it make the pink Wurmple super excited. It squee’d with glee as it lowered itself back down to the ground on all of its legs. The poison-tipped yellow barb on the top of its head started to glow brightly as the Wurmple prepared its next attack. This would surely take this Squirtle by surprise! Not many Wurmple learned this move before they were defeated or captured by a trainer. Why, it would show this little lass and her jolly turtle just how impressive of a battler it really was! The Squirtle was faster though, and collided with the Wurmple as it barreled the other Pokemon over and caused it to roll about in the grass.
The Wurmple popped back up and just barely poked its head over the dried brownish-green grasses with their frost-covered tips. The glowing horn fired off a poisonous barb at the Squirtle, striking the Pokemon in its shoulders. “You’re pretty good at this, ya know.” The pink Pokemon giggled as it wiggled the first four legs in the air while standing up tall. “I promise I won’t go easy, either, ok?” Truthfully, the Wurmple didn’t expect the Squirtle to be quite so fast, considering it had just stood there and stared at it a second ago when it came charging at Eimi.

Eimi's mind was not on battling, and she grinned at the other pokemon. "Squirtle, squirtle squirt squirtle!" (Well, I will fight if that's what you want. For my human!) she said, her long curled tail wagging a bit. She was a friendly pokemon, but enjoyed a battle as much as any pokemon did. It was just something in their nature that made them seek battles. "Squirt squirtle squirt!"And here I figured wild pokemon curled up together for warmth like the rest of us!) she was born and raised in captivity so she really didn't know much about the lives of wild pokemon.
Yui watched the two pokemon, but naturally she hadn't the slightest clue what they were saying. No matter, she could tell they were both eager to fight without understanding anything else. She had seen that look in a pokemon's eyes before. "Keep your guard up Eimi!" no sooner had she said that, had the wurmple lunged at the squirtle with a poison barb. "Eimi! Dodge it!" she shouted, but Eimi wasn't quick enough. Squirtles weren't known for their speed.
Eimi took the poison sting attack as she winced. "Squirtle!!(It will take more than this!)" she shot back. "Eimi! Get some distance and use water gun!" Said Yui, hoping that would help out her pokemon. With a nod, Eimi took a deep breath followed by a spray of water in the direction of the wurmple. She used some of the water pressure to push her back a little bit, then took a couple steps. But she wasn't sure she could hold the distance for too long. "Okay, try to hold that if you can!"
The Wurmple had no problem with the idea of fighting for a friend but it still felt it was odd that a Pokemon would voluntarily fight for a human. " I would always fight for a friend so I do understand however fighting for a human is so odd. Would you not prefer to be free like me?" The Wurmple tilted it's head as it tried to understand how belonging to a human could be so great. The Wurmple did have a good answer for Eimi's second question. " Some Pokemon do cuddle for warmth but us Wurmple try to avoid being in groups for too long. We make easy targets for Pidgey and Spearow."
As the Wurmple tried to build up the strength for another attack Eimi fired off a small amount of water scoring a direct hit. Wurmple started to panic as the water mixed with the cooler temperature left it chilled to the bone. In absolute desperation Wurmple fired off a second Poison Sting having no trouble hitting the young Squirtle however the damage was minimal. " Oh dear, I am not feeling so well. Your shell is even tougher than it looks." The bug stated as it looked at Eimi trying to figure out some way to even the odds.
Nothing seemed to make much of a difference and Wurmple was running out of time to come up with a solid plan. It could not counter Water Gun in any capacity though it would keep trying to the bitter end.

Eimi was raised by humans, and spent her whole life around them. To her, they were no different than another pokemon. "Squirtle! Squirtle squirt, squiiiiirtle, squirt squirtle!"(Humans are great! You never have to worry about food or comfort, there is a nice bed to sleep in, if you are hurt they take you to get better, I would never give that up!) She couldn't really understand what it was like to be a wurmple, but right now that didn't matter anyways.
Eimi was still a bit too close so the poison sting hit. "Eimi! Use another water gun!" said Yui, hoping to weaken the pokemon some more, but she could see it waning some. She planed her hand on an empty ball on her belt, it wasn't her first choice for a wild pokemon, she actually had hoped she would run into a poochyena. But it was still the first wild pokemon she met. "Just a little bit longer!"
In response to Yui, Eimi shot out another water gun at the bug pokemon. "Squirtle, squirt squirtle."(Nothing personal, but I am not here to lose.) she said right before she shot the spray of water from her mouth at the opposing pokemon.
"And I battle for myself!" The wurmple declared proudly, it had had no problems doing things on its own and saw no reason to stop now. It knew how to find solutions and it would find one on this weird cold weather which made its muscle cramp and its nest really cold. It had already found one solution, it had been right about that a battle had just been what it had needed to get its muscles to work properly and stop shaking. "I did! But then all this weird white stuff came along and destroyed it all! I don't know what is going on and I was about to go ask a friend of mind what this is," the wurmple made a sweeping motion with its rear end and shivered from the cold.
The water came rushing at it again and the wurmple's attempt to dodge it by throwing itself flat on the belly into the frosty grass did not work. Usually it could hide in the lush greenery but now it just crushed below it, it looked down with a worried expression but didn't get far in thinking about what was going on, as Eimi blasted it with water and sent it rolling. It was quickly to come back up, it was panting and grinning, the water damping off its back. It surely would really feel this later on, if it was still out in the cold when the battle was over, but it was blissfully unaware as it had never experienced a winter before. "So? Then what do you say about this?"" It shouted and crawled forward as fast as it could, to swing its poisonous stingers at her, they scraped mostly off the shell as Eimi was quick to withdraw the parts of her body which was close. The wurmple was looking tired but it smiled as it felt much better than when it had woken up. It paused to look at Eimi thoughtfully, "do you know what this is and what is going on?" It asked her curiously, "I'd really like my green trees back and this white stuff gone."

The squirtle just gently nodded her head a bit. "Squirtle squirtle squirt!"(Battling for my human is great for me!) she said back with a smile. A confused look came upon the squirtle's face. "Squirtle? Squirt squirtle.."(White stuff? You mean the frost? That doesn't usually destroy things as far as I know.)
Eimi watched the wurmple's dodge attempt before she blasted it with water. She kept her stance as she watche the pokemon get back up. She saw the weakened pokemon coming at her with another poison sting, so it wasn't as effective as before. "Urtle squirt. Squirtle."(It's okay to accept a loose you know. You put up a good fight. she said, smiling at the pokemon as she turned to see Yui getting closer.
As the water gun hit, Yui picked up an empty pokeball. This was the right time. "Alright wurmple! You're mine!" she said, throwing the ball at the weakened pokemon. It looked weak enough to her that this should do the trick! At least she hoped. She would rather not waste her first pokeball if she could help it. Eimi watched the pokemon come flying, making sure she was out of the way as it soared towards it's target of the little caterpillar pokemon.
The bug, feeling the onset of weariness being mingling with the warmed fluids of its wormy body, gave the water type a skeptical look. "It doesn't destroy things..? But, it's all crunchy and cold... and the wrong color and tastes bad!" The wild pokémon was lingering on this knowledge trying to be imparted by the helpful squirtle, mind skipping over the more recent compliment of a good spar. Its eyes squinted, body halted amidst the chilled grasses surrounding them. The wurmple appeared to be staring intently at some of the slowly melting crystals as the day carried on.
This made it quite an easy target to lob a pokéball at. Unmoving, the magenta worm soon found itself engulfed in a white light and whisked away inside of the incredible device. The red topped orb clasped shut and fell to the ground upright. Beyond that there wasn't anything to climatic or cinematic. Almost as soon as it touched the ground the button on its face lit up a brilliant red. A pleasant chime rang, and the ball simply sat there restfully.
It appeared wurmple had been caught!

Eimi grew to Lv 8! She learned Withdraw!
It appeared Yui's first capture would go as smoothly as possible. That is... until a sudden flash of burnt orange would whisk its way through the fall flora and bat the similarly colored ball through the grass.
What's this!?! Something's making off with the pokéball
The ball flew with ease at the wild pokemon, hitting the wormple as it vanished into the ball in a flash of light. She waited, watching the ball barely shake before the light flashed with a click. "Yes! I caught it!" said Yui happily as Eimi ran up to her. Yui scooped the squirtle into her arms giggling. "We did it Eimi! You did so good! I am so proud of you!" she said, patting the squirtle's head. "Squirtle!" Eimi chimed happily. "Well, let's go welcome our new frie....eh?"
As Yui looked towards where the ball had fallen, she saw a flash of orange then...WHERE WAS IT!? "No no no no no!" she said, starting to hyperventilate as she stopped and took a deep breath. "Oh no you don't!" she said, putting her squirtle down. "Let's go get that back Eimi!" she said, followed by a "Squirtle!" from Eimi. The two of them quickly started to head towards the culprite, stopping when she saw another pokemon. Oh...my... "Aaaah! You're so cuuuuutee!!!" she said, looking down at the little fox pokemon. "I've never seen a pokemon like you before! Wow!" she said, suddenly the agency of getting the ball back had been pushed back in her mind a bit. She hadn't forgotten about it more.....got distracted.

The spry red fox happily batting the red-and-white Pokeball through the tall brownish-green grasses. A soft, fine misty of powdery frost coated the tops of the grasses and the tree branches in the canopies above, beckoning in the colder days that were slowly approaching the Johto region. The fox’s large black ears switched this way and that, as he wiggled his butt and lowered the front half of his body to the ground. In an instance, the red fox went soaring into the air, leaping out of the tall grasses that obscured him and landing in a new spot. With a swat of his paws, the red-and-white Pokeball came flying out from the tall grasses and soared through the air. It slammed against the bark of a large and ancient Oak tree and bounced off, before hitting another tree and bouncing off as well.
The Nickit was off, not even noticing the girl for the moment as it chased after the Pokeball throughout the forested region. It yipped and yapped cheerful happy barks. Surely, Yui would want her newly caught Wurmple back eventually…right? But still, the Pokemon stalked through the tall grasses and large bushes around the region as it chased after its newfound toy. Two grey ears poked up from behind a rather large, overturned tree before the dark grey face with its bright red eyes popped over the top edge of the fallen log. The two dark types pinned their ears over and began growling menacingly in a low, guttural voice as they scampered over the large tree and jumped down. The Nickit’s eyes widened, and it stood protectively in front of its new toy.
The larger Poochyena nodded to the smaller one and they tried to encircle the small Nickit to entrap it. One would flank the red fox to its left while the other flanked it to the right. The spry fox, now sprung inside the trap of another Pokemon, fell on its rear end and began to wail loudly as fear seized its heart. When it tried to duck off in one direction, one of the Poochyena’s would move in fast to corner it and force it back towards the other Poochyena that lay in waiting. Poochyena were pack animals by definition, but was Nickit really on their menu or did they feel threatened by having this fox in their newfound territory? It was obvious that the Poochyena were trying to force the Nickit into a 2-vs-1 battle, and when it spotted the trainer it had previously made off with the Pokeball from, the Nickit began to bark hopefully at her. Would the trainer help it escape this terrible fate?
Wild Poochyena [Level 2] and Wild Poochyena [Level 4] appeared!
Nickit needs Yui's help. Will she send out a Pokemon to help battle the Poochyena?

Yui smiled at the little thing, then looked at the pokemon. "Okay little one...so I need that back..." she said, starting to reach out for it. She had to admit, it was super cute the way he played with it...but likely less cute for the pokemon inside the ball. She pulled out a fresh ball, wondering if she could trade it. If she was lucky maybe it would catch itself? It was hard to say. Before she could get close enough to get the ball, the playful nickit sent it flying with a bat at it hit and bounced off a tree. Oh no! "Fuuu...." Yui cut herself off as she got up to chase after it. "No no little one! I need that back!" she said as she started to follow the ball.
Yui and Eimi followed the nicket quickly, it was a nimble little one! "Come on, I really need it back! I will trade you!" she tried bargaining with it. "Squirtle!" Eimi suddenly got defensive as she rushed ahead of Yui, as the girl seemed confused. Moments after this however, she saw what had put her squirtle on alert as the two Poochyena appeared. Well this was unexpected. "Oh um...hehe hi! Sorry if we trespassed but...I just need to get this little one here and we will be out of your hair..." she said, concerned by the look they were giving the little fox pokemon. She didn't want it to get hurt.
As Yui saw the two Poochyena start circling the nicket she frowned. "Eimi! Water gun!" she shouted, hoping to draw their attention away from the other pokemon. "Squiiir...TLE!" she shouted as she let loose the spray of water at the closest poochyena. "Don't you dare touch him!" Yui shouted, ready to defend the little pokemon. The nickit looked small, she was worried it might not be strong enough yet to defend itself. Plus, a 2 on 1 was just unfair!
