It was quite a slog getting all the way to route 33 from route 29, but thanks to Venom's many years of ninja training and time in the wilderness, he managed to make it back to route 33 in practically no time at all. The Poison type trainer emerged from Union Cave just in time for day to turn into night, with his Skorupi still clinging to his right shoulder. The two looked around and saw that darkness had fallen over route 33, but that was just about all they could see, as a dense fog had once again rolled in, completely covering the route they had chosen as their training ground. As soon as he saw the fog, Venom couldn't help letting out a sigh, remembering that the fog back on route 29 finally lifted just before they left said route. "You've got to be kidding me. It seems Mother Nature is, and will always be a very fickle being."
"Skorupi?" Skorupi was quick to question her trainer's words, wondering if it would be better if they found themselves a different training ground. Upon hearing this from the Scorpion Pokémon, Venom glanced at her, smiled, and shook his head. "No. It's fine. We dealt with this before and we'll do it again, Skorupi. Besides, we're not ready to move on to Goldenrod City just yet, so route 33 has the strongest wild Pokémon and trainers that we can battle for training at the moment. Still, it never hurts to take a few extra precautions." The purple haired trainer gave Skorupi his answer, then began to dig through his bag, looking for a few items that he knew would give the two of them more of an edge against the new trainers and wild Pokémon they were sure to encounter on the route they stood upon.
The Poison/Bug type Pokémon waited patiently for her trainer to find what he was looking for, curious as to what it was that he was looking for exactly. "Skor, Skorupi?" After roughly two minutes of digging through his belongings, Venom found what he was looking for, and smiled as he pulled two different items out of his bag. "These." In his hand, Venom now held a single Rare Candy and a TM. Straight away, Skorupi recognized the piece of candy, remembering that she ate three of them back when she and Venom first began her training. But the other item in her trainer's hand had her more then a little confused, wondering what exactly it was.
Before Skorupi got the chance to question the ninja further, he had already begun his explanation, moving both items closer to her. "I'm sure you remember the Rare Candy. It'll make you stronger if you eat it. But this other item is called a TM, and it can make you stronger in a different way. If you take the power sealed inside of it, you'll learn how to use a brand new move, Skorupi. In this case, this is TM28 and it contains the move known as Dig. Rather simple, but a very useful and effective attack move in and out of battle. Please take them, Skorupi, and I promise that by the time we're done here you'll be just as strong as the other members of our team. Maybe even stronger."
As always, Skorupi listened to her trainer's every word. Being a newborn, she didn't quite understand all of it, but she at least got the gist of it. "Skorupi. Pi. Skorupi. Skor." Skorupi gave Venom a response, accompanied by a nod of confirmation, then happily accepted both the Rare Candy and the TM from him. She started by devouring the Rare Candy, crushing it in her jaws before swallowing it down. Once that was done, she gripped the TM with her tail, letting the energy from it flow through her entire body, until the TM itself finally vanished. And just like that, Skorupi learned how to use Dig, causing she and Venom to smile at each other.
"Skorupi! Skor!" Once again, Venom gave his beloved Pokémon a nod before speaking. "Yes. It is exciting, Skorupi. And you're only going to continue to get stronger from here. Now, let's find our next opponent." Now that all the prep work was complete, Venom began to venture further into the fog-covered route, searching for any trainers or wild Pokémon that may be lurking within. Neither Venom nor Skorupi were sure who or what they'd encounter, but after receiving the two power-ups she just did, Skorupi was feeling extremely confident and ready to take on just about anything. Venom noticed this and kept his smile, very happy to see this attitude from one of his beloved Pokémon, already looking forward to their next bout himself.
OOC: Rare Candy and TM28: Dig both used on Skorupi, and I'd like Skorupi to forget the move Bite in place of Dig please. Thank you.

The dense fog that clung to the route would make it nearly impossible to see anything. A strange sound rose up from the fog. It seemed to whisper strange unintelligible words to the weary travelers as they worked their way from the cave’s opening towards the sleepy little Azalea town. Many of the wild Pokemon that inhabited the route were obscured and practically invisible in the dense fog. Footsteps scurried on either side of the tall man and his poisonous bluish-purple scorpion companion. It would be almost impossible to tell, though the fading colors of a bluish and pinkish-purplish hue seemed to scurry through the undergrowth. Whether the lad tried to catch up or completely ignored it, it wouldn’t matter, as they would all too quickly disappear, avoided better coverage thanks to the thick layer of suspended ice crystals that clung in the air and enveloped one’s senses. Another sound would make itself known, though. It was a lot louder and more noticeable than the scurrying of feet as they receded deeper into the vast wilderness that surrounded the land. Hands pounded away at a large pine tree, whose trunk seemed impressively round and tall, as though it had been there for centuries and had seen the rise and fall of past civilizations. The furry white Pokemon kept its light brown fists balled up tightly and would punch at the tree’s bark in rapid succession. A sound – possibly the scurrying of feet from the previous mystery – caught the Pokemon’s attention. It twitched an ear in the direction and turned one eye towards the lad and his Skorupi’s direction through narrowed pupils and enflamed nostrils. The Mankey rushed over, pushing its way through the undergrowth by bullying its way through the thick tangle of vines and hopping swiftly over upturned logs. “MANKEY MAN-KEY! (I challenge you!)” The Pig Monkey roared and used its fists to beat itself just underneath its mouth where its chest presumably was. It was a sea of emotions and all of them screamed for a fight. “MANKEY MANKEY MAN MANKEY! (You will not escape my powerful fists!)” It dared Venominon and his Pokemon Companion. A Wild Mankey has Appeared! [Level 9]! It is challenging Vanominon to a battle. What will Venominon do? Note: Update sent in! Shiny CheckZ_McQ0xT1-421-42

As the poisonous pair ventured deeper and deeper into the fog-covered route, Venom kept his eyes narrowed and his wits about him. He may not have been able to see them, but he could definitely hear the wild Pokémon that were close by and hiding amongst all the fog and vegetation. The ninja once again put his training to good use, keeping both his breathing and his footsteps as quiet and steady as possible. He hoped that his actions would help him and Skorupi spot any wild Pokémon that came into their respective fields of vision before they spotted the two of them. However, for the moment, the only thing that either of them could see clearly was each other. As Venom did this, Skorupi did her best to follow her trainer's example, narrowing her eyes and trying to spot any movement at all through the fog.
Then, the second they heard the sounds of footsteps scurrying across the ground on either side of them, Venom quickly looked to the left, while Skorupi turned her gaze towards the right. Both trainer and Pokémon remained silent and kept their eyes narrowed, but were only able to catch some brief glimpses of some shapes and colors disappearing into the undergrowth. As suddenly as the mystery creatures had appeared, they had completely vanished, leaving Venom and Skorupi rather curious. On the one hand, Skorupi had no idea what kinds of Pokémon those two were, and started to look a little lost as a result. But Venom, on the other hand, had a theory as to the identities of the mystery Pokémon. And as the ninja began to ponder his theory, a certain memory surfaced in his mind.
Thinking back to the very first time he set foot on route 33, Venom remembered when he first met and captured his Nidoran, who is now a Nidorino. Even though it was only a short glimpse, Venom's serpentine gaze had never failed him before. He was certain that he saw that one of the two wild Pokémon was a bluish color, and the other was a pinkish-purple color. The exact colors of a female and male Nidoran, respectively. From his studies, the Poison type trainer knew every Pokémon that called this route home. And among them, it was a safe bet that only a female Nidoran and a male Nidoran would be traveling together anyway, especially in these current weather conditions.
As much as Venom loved Poison type Pokémon, which was a lot, he ended up deciding that it would probably be best to leave the pair of Poison Pin Pokémon alone. Besides, not long after that, some new sounds quickly grabbed the attention of both Venom and Skorupi. These new sounds made the poisonous pair narrow their eyes once more, as Venom began to move through the fog again, following these new sounds to their source. However, Venom came to a complete stop several seconds later, as the new sounds stopped as well and were replaced with yet another new set of sounds. And from these new sounds, Venom quickly deduced that what ever was making them was also making its way towards the Poison type trainer and Pokémon. Upon hearing these sounds, Venom put his game face on, and slowly knelt down so Skorupi could climb off of his shoulder.
"Battle ready, Skorupi. Our foe approaches." Venom whispered to Skorupi, and the Poison/Bug type was quick to crawl down off her trainer's arm once she heard his words. "Skorupi. Skorupi." The Scorpion Pokémon informed her master that she was ready, as Venom got back on his feet and the two wanted for their opponent to show itself. Once the wild Mankey appeared before them, Skorupi was unable to stop herself from stumbling backwards a bit, surprised by how energetic the Fighting type was at such a late hour. This didn't surprise Venom at all though, as he knew very well that this behavior was fairly normal for a Mankey of all Pokémon. "Don't falter, Skorupi. You've got the clear advantage over a Fighting type like Mankey."
A grin appeared on Venom's face, as he did his best to put his Pokémon's mind at ease, and the two listened to what the Pig Monkey Pokémon had to say. Mankey's words surprised Skorupi yet again, then made her start to glare at the wild Fighting type a little. "Skor! Skorupi!" Skorupi was not at all happy with what she heard from her opponent, while Venom, on the other hand, maintained his composure. "I like that spirit of yours, Mankey, but who said anything about escaping? Team Toxic never runs from a battle. Show this Pokémon the power of poison, Skorupi! Give it a double round of your Poison Sting!" Venom gave Skorupi her first command of the battle, hoping to inflict poison upon the wild Mankey right away. "Pi! Skorupi! Pi!" The Scorpion Pokémon did as her trainer ordered her to, doing her best to aim her claws and tail at her foe through the fog, before letting loose with back-to-back rounds of her Poison Sting attack.

The wild Pig Monkey Pokemon was a fighter from the moment it had been brought into this world. Born of an insatiable need to fight, the Mankey had scoured the Route for the toughest Pokemon it had to offer and ultimately found most of the other forest-dwelling Pokemon to be not quite up to snuff. Blood boiled inside of the cream colored ape’s blood as the rush of excitement and adrenaline thumped away just underneath the skin. The Mankey flared its nostrils and studied the fast moving predatory arachnid as it scurried across the ground. “Mankey MANK KEY! (You are brave opponents!)” The Mankey’s voice boomed as though pleased somewhere inside of its soul that they were willing to face off with it. The Monkey swung itself up high into the treetops and swung from vine to vine. The purplish scorpion gave chase, scurrying up the side of a tree and onto a large branch. “MANKEY MANKEY MANK MANKEY?! (Can you keep up with me, little bug?!)” The Mankey called out to the scorpion. Through a thick cloud of fog that billowed up and obscured the land, the two Pokemon seemed to disappear and reappear throughout the battlefield. They were in an arms’ race through the long, winding branches and thick bundles of leaves that decorated the trees, with the monkey swinging through the vines as the scorpion jumped from tree to tree. Then the Skorupi paused, catching the Mankey from behind as it stood on a thick and secure branch and searched in the wrong direction for its opponent. One hand clung to the branch to keep the Pokemon’s strong hold on it while the other cupped just over the Mankey’s eyes. The Mankey bounced on the top of the branch as impatience ate away underneath the skin. The thick branch full of multihued leaves swayed and buckled underneath the weight. Skorupi fired two long, sharp poisonous barbs from its tail and managed to get the Monkey in the back of its shoulders, causing it to swing down from the trees and land on the ground. “Mankey mank, mankey mank key key mankey. (This one is a good fighter, I must make sure I am twice as prepared.)” The Pig Monkey knew then and there that it would need to prepare for this fight by keeping its focus strong. The Mankey pulled in a deep breath of air and closed its eyes while focusing inwardly on the battle at hand and began to glow in a thin, white light. Then, the two were off again as they tore through the trees – one swinging from branch to branch as the other scurried and hopped about. Skorupi fired another round of poisonous stings, though this time the Mankey was able to catch wind and dodge them, in part thanks to the dense fog. Immediately, it swung up onto a branch above where the Skorupi had settled itself for the second round of poisonous needles and began swiping at its opponents with its long, sharp nails to dig into the Skorupi’s hide. Simply by looking into its eyes, Venom could tell that this Mankey was a serious fighter. Even through the thick fog. Of course, that was fairly normal for Mankeys. As was a rather short fuse, but neither Venom nor Skorupi let that bother them. Venom was used to dealing with far more aggressive Pokémon and humans for that matter, calling to mind the various trainers who'd visited his father's gym over the years, as well as his several encounters with Team Rocket. And even though Skorupi had just been brought into the world quite recently, as long as her trainer was with her, she felt like she could accomplish anything.
The Poison type trainer and his Pokémon listened to the next set of words the Pig Monkey Pokémon said to them, and Venom couldn't help shooting the wild Pokémon another grin as he responded. "Thanks for that, Mankey. I can see that you're a tough one yourself." Venom offered the Fighting type some praise, and Skorupi quickly nodded in agreement, but also informed her opponent that she wouldn't be going easy on them in their battle. "Skorupi! Skor! Skor!" However, the next words that Mankey spoke to her made Skorupi start to glare at them again, as she quickly climbed up the tree after her foe. "Skorupi?! Skorupi! Pi!" The Scorpion Pokémon was not at all happy about being called a "little bug", even though that's technically what she was.
As soon as the two Pokémon had climbed up into the trees, the ninja quickly followed their lead, jumping up into the branches himself. Jumping from branch to branch and swinging from vines was nothing new for Venom at all, but in such dense fog, he knew had to be careful, especially with a battle going on somewhere in the fog. Not only that, but other wild Pokémon were likely still lurking about as well. And if they weren't scared off by the sounds of the aforementioned battle, then they must be some very tough cookies indeed. Maybe even tougher than the Mankey. With all of that in mind, Venom kept his wits about him as he moved forward, following the sounds that Skorupi and Mankey made as they fought against each other, as well as the light that shone from Mankey when it used its Focus Energy.
Upon locating the two small Pokémon, the results of the first round of their bout became clear to Venom. Straight away, Venom lost his grin and grit his teeth in slight frustration, seeing that Mankey didn't get poisoned by Skorupi's attack. "Tch. I was hoping that would work. Maybe it's time for a different approach." The purple-haired trainer knew that it wasn't Skorupi's fault, knowing very well that this fog wasn't making this battle easy for her. Fortunately, Venom already had another plan of attack all set and ready to go.
"Skorupi, climb down from the tree and use Dig!" Venom called out to his Pokémon through the fog, knowing that his voice would definitely still reach her. He also knew that, given Mankey's eagerness to fight, there was strong possibility that the Pig Monkey Pokémon would leave the treetops to search for its opponent as soon as it lost sight of her. Skorupi heard her master's orders loud and clear, but was a bit hesitant at first. She had never used her new move before and wasn't sure if she'd be able to pull it off, but if Venom thought that it was a good idea, then she'd put her trust in him and go for it. "Skor! Skorupi!" Skorupi climbed down the tree she clung to as fast as her little legs could carry her, and began to burrow her way underground the second she reach solid earth. All the while, Venom watched her do this, hoping that his new battle plan would pay off.

The wild Monkey raised its paws up into the air and listened carefully to the forest around it. The cream-furred mammal could hear the forest teeming with life, from the bugs that scurried up into the holes in the trees to escape the battle around them to the birds’ wings flapping high above in the skyways far out of reach. The Pig Monkey twitched its cream-colored ears and scanned the noises that seemed to whir like a blender in the forest. The Mankey filtered the sounds, categorizing and ignoring the ones that belonged to the wild Pokemon on the route. Something interesting caught its ears and caused the Mankey to swing up into the trees, running through canopy until the monkey was able to spot the purple scorpion burying herself into the earth. “MANKEY MANKEY! (NO YOU DON’T!)” The Mankey called out and jumped out of the tree, landing in front of the scorpion’s tunnel. The Mankey fisted the open tunnel and tried to dig the little Pokemon out as its claws tore furiously at the earth. Skorupi’s path was just barely noticeable as she tunneled through the earth away from her hole, before tunnelling back around to chase after the Mankey. The Mankey followed suit, easily jumping out of the way and hopping up into the trees to avoid its opponent underneath the ground. So, the chase was on. Whenever the Mankey would land, the Skorupi would appear, speeding up towards her opponent and causing the Mankey to jump back into the safety of the canopies, until the Skorupi was able to chase it out into a clearing away from the trees by meticulously tunneling about as she ushered the Mankey where she wanted. The Skorupi seized her opportunity when she dug her way back up above just underneath the Mankey. She rammed into the other Pokemon and used her wail to grip the fighting type Pokemon and toss the Mankey far off past a grove of trees to slam into one of their sturdy trunks. The Pig Monkey lifted itself back up and shook its head which throbbed and hurt from the impact. The Mankey began searching around confusingly for the other Pokemon. Once it noticed the tell-tale sign of purple fur brustling through the underbrush of a thick shrub, the Mankey jumped on top of the other Pokemon and began digging and tearing angrily at the other Pokemon with its sharp claws. The Nidoran buckled underneath the weight of the other Pokemon, bellowed, and ran off to disappear far into the forested region. Wrong Pokemon? "Mankey man key?! (Where did she go?!)" The monkey grumbled underneath his breath. Wild Encounter Weather: Foggy Bottom Blues (-10 ACC) [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Mankey LV 9 HP 3% [3/28]

Even though he and his Pokémon friend were in the middle of a battle, Venom couldn't help taking a moment to admire the beautiful melody of the forest at night. Most people would just view these sounds as nothing more then random Pokémon noises, but having spent most of his life in the wild, Venom had gained a better understanding and appreciation for such things. To his ears, the sounds that came from the wild Pokémon all around him were as beautiful and entertaining as any song. It was more then enough to put a smile on the ninja's face, as he remained perched on the branch of a tree, while Skorupi dug her way underground. However, as much as he enjoyed Mother Nature's performance, the purple-haired trainer made sure to keep his eyes locked on the battle between Skorupi and Mankey the entire time. Of course, the fog continued to obstruct his gaze, but the sounds of Skorupi digging into the earth and Mankey attempting to dig her up were unmistakable.
As soon as the chase was on, Venom sprang into action once again, swinging from tree to tree and doing his best not to lose sight of Skorupi's upturned earth trail or the Pig Monkey Pokémon. Once the trees finally came to an end, the Poison type trainer swung from one final branch, and landed safely in the clearing that Skorupi had led Mankey into. Thankfully, Venom managed to spot the two Pokémon just in time to watch Skorupi's attack unfold, very pleased with what he was seeing from the Scorpion Pokémon. Venom's smile then transformed into a grin, as he witnessed Mankey's counter attack miss Skorupi completely afterward. "Nicely done, Skorupi. I knew teaching you how to use Dig was the right call." Venom praised Skorupi for her efforts, and while she did enjoy hearing this from her trainer, the small Pokémon did well to stay silent, knowing that Mankey was searching for her.
Be that as it may, it was easy for both Venom and Skorupi to see that the wild Fighting type Pokémon was on its last legs by this point. Even through the fog. It was more than likely that Skorupi's next attack would be the final attack of this bout. Provided she could hit Mankey just one more time through the fog, of course. Fortunately for the poisonous pair, Skorupi still had one move in her arsenal that couldn't miss. Feint Attack. Granted, Feint Attack is a Dark type move, and since Mankey is a Fighting type, it wouldn't be very effective.
Even so, Skorupi was no pushover. Venom had way more then a little faith in his Pokémon, and decided to move forward with this battle plan. "Time for the finishing move, Skorupi! Use your Feint Attack!" As soon as she heard Venom's command, Skorupi nodded, having used this very same attack many times in her previous bout with Sabey. "Skor. Skorupi." And so, making sure to stay as quiet as possible, the Poison/Bug type Pokémon slowly vanished from sight, preparing to pound in what would hopefully be her final attack against her latest opponent. Skorupi was still too young to know about all the type advantages and disadvantages in the world of Pokémon, so rather then worry about any of that, she just focused one thing and one thing only. Winning this battle, and making her trainer proud.

Mankey were renowned for their temper and this one was no exception. Mankey had resigned from looking for evidence of their opponent and had just started to swing madly at the air at front of and around them with flailing limbs. The clumsy blows did enough to thrust away the fog, giving Skorupi a good view of her opponent, sweat heavy on their brow and their beady eyes darting in all directions, Futile, of course, because before the Mankey could recognize the Skorupi in their rage, they vanished in a blink. And reappeared behind them. Skorupi set their claws on Mankey: there was a bit of a tussle but Mankey, exhausted, flopped to the ground, leaving Skorupi unambiguously victorious. Suddenly, Mankey shot back onto its feet. They didn't readdress the trainer and the partner they'd challenged. With a subtle note of effort, they crouched then sprung up onto the nearest tree, clamored up into the branches, and disappeared into the leafs and fog. Maybe they were bitter about losing. That, or something distant had disturbed them. Wild Encounter Weather: Fog [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Mankey LV 9 HP 0% [0/28]

As soon as he heard the sounds of Skorupi's final attack, Venom zeroed in on his Pokémon and her opponent, then dashed right through the fog in the direction of said sounds. Upon reaching the scorpion and the pig monkey, the ninja was pleased to see that Skorupi had scored herself another victory, smiling down at the small Pokémon. Skorupi was quite proud of herself too, smiling and clicking her claws together a few times as she stood over her defeated opponent. Both trainer and Pokémon then watched as their foe returned to its feet and quickly disappeared into the fog-covered trees, without so much as a word. In response to this, Skorupi turned in the direction that Mankey ran off in, and proceeded to yell at the Fighting type one last time. "Skor?! Skorupi! Skorupi! Pi! Skor!"
The Scorpion Pokémon was clearly not at all happy about the Pig Monkey Pokémon just up and leaving the way that it did, especially after it insulted her several times during their battle. After seeing and hearing this from her, Venom couldn't help laughing to himself a little, finding Skorupi's outburst to be rather amusing. But more then anything else, he was happy to see that she'd won the battle and gotten stronger yet again as a result. Several seconds later, the Poison type trainer walked over to the newest member of Team Toxic, looked down at her, and smiled. "Don't worry about that Mankey, Skorupi. I'm sure it knows better then to mess with you now." Upon hearing her trainer's voice, Skorupi's fit of rage quickly subsided, as she turned to face Venom and returned his smile. "Pi. Skorupi. Skor. Skor."
Venom listened to the words she spoke, then gave her a nod and a response. "Yes, I know. You performed very well during that last battle, but we're not done here just yet. We still have some work to do here, and I believe our next step should be dealing with what ever it was that caused Mankey to leave in such a hurry." As Venom spoke those last few words to Skorupi, he slowly glanced over his shoulder, able to sense that something was there. Something that struck fear into the heart of the wild Mankey and caused it to turn tail and run away, despite the injuries it suffered during its bout with Skorupi. Skorupi, on the other hand, was unable to sense any of this until her master pointed it out. But as soon as she did, she quickly raised her guard, as well as her claws and tail, preparing herself for yet another battle.

From behind a nearby tree a Pokemon had been watching the pervious battle quite curious to see who would win. It was not often a poison type outside of the Nidoran family were on route 33 and as the battle came to a close the female Nidoran grew quite excited to see the poison type win. She was very pumped up by the excitement of the battle she had not watched her step as she accidentally crushed a large stick in her glee. The noise was amplified in the fog making it impossible to make a getaway. With that in mind Nidoran walked out from behind the tree and approached Venom out of both respect for having such a strong poison type and fear thinking a battle was the only way she could escape from her current situation. The young poison type stared at Venom as she waited to see what he would do next. As he already had a Skorupi she was interested in seeing what other Pokemon he had while also being fearful of the thought as she did not have a lot of experience in battles and would stand little chance against a powerful Pokemon. While she would have to wait to find out the fog seemed to grow a bit thicker as she could hardly see a few feet in front of her face. Keeping track of a target was going to be quite a challenge if Venom accepted her offer to battle. Nidoran♀ (Level 8) challenges you to a battle. Please select a Pokemon.

Venom and Skorupi both heard the sound of a twig getting snapped under the foot of another living creature, as the poisonous pair continued to stare into the fog in the direction of said sound, waiting for what ever made it to show itself. The fog once again made their interested onlooker a bit difficult to see, but as soon as she got close enough, both Venom and Skorupi laid eyes on the female Nidoran. Being that she was a Poison type Pokémon, sparkles immediately appeared in Venom's eyes, as he ran right over to the small Pokémon and knelt down in front of her with a big smile spread across his face. "Wow! A female Nidoran! Aren't you just the cutest?! It's very nice to meet you, little one! My name's Venom, and that's Skorupi!" Staying true to his nature, Venom just couldn't help getting excited around Poison types, gesturing to Skorupi as he spoke to the wild Pokémon.
As for Skorupi herself, she vaguely recalled something similar to this happening when she first hatched from her egg, but it still surprised her to see her normally calm and collected trainer acting the way that he was at this moment. Be that as it may, Skorupi was still happy to meet another Poison type, and a female one at that. So, after the surprise wore off, she crawled over to her trainer's side, and greeted the female Nidoran with a smile of her own. "Skorupi. Skor. Skor. Skorupi." The Scorpion Pokémon introduced herself, and told Nidoran that her trainer loved Poison type Pokémon more than anything. Even though that was already very obvious.
About a minute later, Venom finally snapped out of it, stood back up, and regained his composure. "Sorry about that, Nidoran. I hope I didn't scare you at all. I guess you were watching our battle with that Mankey, huh? Well, I hope you enjoyed the show." The ninja kept his smile as he spoke to the small Poison Pin Pokémon, and not long after that, a thought suddenly crossed his mind. "Oh, and here's something else you might enjoy." Venom grabbed one of the orbs from his bag, pressed the button on it to make it larger, then tossed it up into the air. "Come on out, Nidorino!" The orb opened, and yet another Poison type Pokémon emerged from it in a bright flash of light.
"Nido!" Nidorino let out a battle cry upon being released from his pokeball, expecting a battle. However, the evolved male Poison Pin Pokemon quickly took notice of the female and was surprised, but also happy to see one of his own kind. "Nidorino. Nido. Nido." Nidorino introduced himself to the female Nidoran as well, a friendly smile appearing upon his face as he did. Even with the dense fog all around, Nidorino could still tell that they were standing right in the middle of his home, as he called to mind the day that he first met Venom and joined Team Toxic. Of course he was very happy to be part of such a team, but being back in the place he used to call home and seeing the female Nidoran in front of him did give him a sense of nostalgia.
Venom kept on smiling as he watched this scene unfold, happy to see Nidorino in such good spirits. However, the Poison type trainer's smile began to fade away a little as he recalled the task at hand, which was to train Skorupi and make her stronger. Despite her rather low level, Venom could see that the female Nidoran still wanted to battle, and Venom was more then happy to oblige. So, after waiting for Nidorino and the female Nidoran's conversation to end, Venom and Skorupi prepared themselves for their next battle. "Let's try to wrap this one up quickly, Skorupi. Use your Dig attack, but try not to hurt this Nidoran too badly." Neither trainer nor Pokémon were too keen on harming a fellow Poison type. So even though Venom called for a super effective move, Skorupi fully intended to make the impact as painless as possible, as she quickly burrowed her way underground just like she did during her bout with Mankey.

The small blue rabbit backed up slowly. She fanned her ears a few times as her large red eyes widened and she watched Venominon fawn over her nervously. Her feet carefully trembled on the earth. She wanted to become stronger and wanted to test the poison-loving ninja’s skills with his Pokemon, but she was also nervous about the whole ordeal. She lowered her head down to point the horn that sat atop her cranium dangerously at the ninja as if warning him that she wouldn’t be afraid to use her horn on him herself as her eyes narrowed and her feet dug into the soft grassy earth. Then Venominon did something else that surprised her and took the small poisonous rabbit back by surprise. He unleashed another Pokemon that was similar to her but much bigger and was a bright purple in contrast to her bluish hue. The Nidoran only dug her paws deeper into the earth, expecting this Nidorino to battle her and wailed at the top of her voice, “NIDO! NIDORAN NIDO!” She started to charge forward then caught herself, slidding into the base of a tree as the Nidorino’s friendly nature caught her off guard and he greeted her. She huffed, shaking her head and stomping her feet. “Nido nido!” She explained that she wasn’t here for small talk and pleasantries. “Nidoran nido nido!” She needed to prove her worth as a Nidoran and it was now or never that Venominon found her a target! Skorupi dug underneath the earth as the poison rabbit’s whiskers twitched and she faced off with the purple scorpion. But as soon as it disappeared underneath the earth, the poor Nidoran looked lost and confused. She bucked and ran in different directions as she sniffed the air and tried to find her opponent to no avail. Then Skorupi dug up from underneath the earth, hitting her with such a powerful Dig attack that it sent the small poison type running for cover deep in the woods. Venom displayed absolutely no fear when the female Nidoran pointed her horn at him, and his smile didn't waver either. The wild Pokémon didn't know it, but after spending so much time around Poison type Pokémon, both in the wild and his the Fuchsia City gym, Venom had developed an immunity to poison. Sure, Nidoran's horn probably still would've hurt a little, but that's all it would've done. Provided the small Poison Pin Pokémon's attack would've made contact of course. With Venom's ninja prowess and amazing athleticism, he could easily dodge the small Pokémon's attack, even at close range in his awestricken state. Thankfully, it didn't come to that though.
Both Venom and Nidorino were a little disappointed that their attempts to befriend the wild Nidoran didn't pay off, as it quickly became crystal clear to the two of them that this little Pokémon meant business. Granted, it did kind of diminish the impact of her words when she slide into the base of a tree, which caused Venom, Skorupi, and Nidorino to look at the wild Pokémon with some concern on their faces. None of them blamed her for her actions though, given the dense fog that continued to persist all around them. Venom did consider capturing this wild Nidoran and welcoming her into Team Toxic, but since he already had Nidorino, he reluctantly decided against it. Besides, the ninja was rather eager to move on with his journey, well aware of all the Poison type Pokémon that lived in Goldenrod City and the routes around it. The very thought of finding and capturing those Poison types got Venom very excited indeed, and drove him to push on.
But for now, Venom remained focused on the battle at hand, keeping his gaze locked on Nidoran through the fog. However, given the level gap between Skorupi and Nidoran, as well as the Poison type's weakness to Ground type moves, the ninja wasn't surprised at all to see the battle end after just one round. Still, both Venom and Nidorino were relieved to see the female Nidoran get back up and run off into the trees after Skorupi's Dig attack, glad that she wasn't too badly hurt. Skorupi was happy about this too, but she was more focused on her latest victory at that moment. "Skorupi! Skorupi! Skor!" This was the first time she'd been able to win a battle in one shot, and that did make Venom turn towards her and smile again. "Yes. That was a flawless victory, Skorupi. I'm very proud of you. Let's get one more battle in here, then move on. Sound good?"
In response to her trainer's question, Skorupi nodded her head, and put her game face on once again, already looking raring to go. "Skor! Pi! Pi! Skor!" However, Nidorino wasn't looking so thrilled, still disappointed that things didn't work out with the female Nidoran, as he still hoped that she'd be okay on her own after taking the hit that she did. When Venom first found Nidorino, as a Nidoran, he was badly injured himself. So much so that his vision was blurry at best. If he hadn't met Venom when he did, Arceus only knows what would've happened to him. And the last thing Nidorino wanted was for something like that to happen to any other Pokémon. Especially one of his own kind.
Upon looking down at Nidorino, Venom quickly pieced together what the Poison Pin Pokémon was thinking about, thinking back to the day they met as well. A wave of concern washed over the Poison type trainer, as he began to wonder what he could do to cheer Nidorino up. Thankfully, this didn't take very long, as Venom called to mind a certain item that he acquired a while back. And the thought of using it now caused Venom's excitement to rise once more, as he began to dig through his bag and kneel down in front of Nidorino. "I know how you feel, Nidorino. Sometimes I worry about all the wild Pokemon that I grew up with back in the Safari Zone of my hometown. I used to protect them from trainers looking to capture them, together with the first father I had ever known."
Venom's tone was one of sympathy and nostalgia, as he continued to speak to Nidorino, and found himself thinking back to his childhood. "I don't know who my real father is, but the first father I've ever known was a wild Nidoking that lived in the Safari Zone. He took me in along with his mate, a wild Nidoqueen. I think about them every day, and I hope they're doing okay right now. But I've told you this story. Anyway, the point is that you have to have faith. Faith that those you care for will be okay even if you're not there beside them. Of course, a little extra power never hurts either. And on that note, I think you have the potential to become even more powerful than my first father is."
Nidorino listened to his trainer very intently, not sure what he meant at first, but that all changed once Venom pulled the item that he was looking for out of his bag and presented it to the Poison Pin Pokémon. The item in question was a Moon Stone, and even in the middle of the thick fog, it shimmered in the moonlight. "Nido... Nidorino?" Nidorino questioned his trainer, and Venom responded with a nod and a smile. "That's right. This is a Moon Stone. And if you touch it, you'll evolve into a Nidoking. You'll be a lot stronger than you are now, but the choice is yours, my friend." Venom fell silent after that and remined perfectly still, waiting to see if Nidorino would accept the offer he'd given him.
Seeing this, Skorupi was quick to jump in, offering her own words of encouragement to Nidorino. "Skorupi. Skor. Skor. Skorupi. Pi." The Scorpion Pokémon didn't fully understand the situation, but she was still worried about her friend, and really wanted to see him evolve at this time. Then, after a good ten minutes of deep thinking, Nidorino gained an expression of confidence upon his face, and slowly approached Venom and the stone. "Nido! Nidorino! Nido!" Gathering his fortitude, Nidorino used his mouth to grab the stone out of Venom's hand. Almost immediately after that, Nidorino's entire body was bathed in a bright light that shined brilliantly through the fog. The Poison Pin Pokémon then began to change in the middle of all that light, as Venom got back to his feet, and he and Skorupi watched in awe and excitement.
OOC: No thanks. I'll pass on Skorupi learning Toxic Spikes. Also, Venom used his Moon Stone on Nidorino here. So he'll be needing an evolution. Thank you.

Thick clouds that blanketed the night sky encircled the moon. Its bright white glow would cast a shadow over the land, causing the large dark forms to sweep over most of the route in thick pockets of darkness with only a faint glow to cast a bit of light. The skies help a soft, semi-dark blue hue that slowly faded into a nearly-black bluish hues as it stretched away from the moon. The dense clouds would be barely noticeable against the dark backdrop, covering most of the night sky so that only a few stars seemed to prod out against their billowing high-tops, but held no immediate threat of inclement weather. The dense fog only made night gazing harder, as it ambled at a shuckle’s pace through the route and chokes away most of the vision. Something skittered through the dense forest and heavy undergrowth of the route. Large dry leaves flipped over in its wake as the Pokemon dashed from one large bush to the next, seemingly running towards the nearly evolved Nidoking. The small blue pond skater with its large, nearly-black eyes and small pink marks underneath each eye jumped out at the group and raised one of its long, spindly legs accusingly at Venominon and his Nidoking. “Surskit! Sur sur skit! SKIT!” It seemed angry and infuriated that the warm light that Nodiking had cast through his evolution was an illusion – that its precious moon hadn’t graced the world to touch down on the earth itself – and demanded that ‘Team Toxic’ apologize for their lies! After all, all the Surskit wanted to do was moongaze, and it found it nearly impossible to do this properly given the obscurity of the foggy night air. A Wild Surskit [Level 10] is accusing you of lying! It seems ready to battle, too. What will Venom do?
What's this?!Nidoking wants to learn Megahorn?! Forget a move and learn Megahorn?

The view may not have been crystal clear, but as soon as the glow finally faded away, Venom and Skorupi took a moment to admire the sight before them. In place of their dear friend and comrade, Nidorino, a much bigger and more powerful Pokémon now stood tall. The Drill Pokémon, Nidoking. And after taking a few minutes to adjust to his new form, Nidoking stomped his feet on the ground, banged his fists together, and let out a rather loud roar that echoed through the night. "Nido!" The ground shook for a brief moment after being impacted by the Poison/Ground type's huge feet, but Venom and Skorupi were able to maintain their balance. With his little demonstration of power complete, Nidoking once again turned to face his trainer and fellow Poison type Pokémon, and gave them both a rather toothy grin.
In response to this, Venom grinned right back at his newly evolved Pokémon, more than a little pleased with the result before him. That pleasure only grew from there, as the ninja pulled out his PokeDex to check all of Nidoking's new stats. And as luck would have it, Nidoking also learned a new move. A very powerful move too. "Alright! Now that's what I'm talkin' about!" Unable to contain his excitement, Venom moved even closer to Nidoking with sparkles in his eyes, and fully expressed his excitement to the Drill Pokémon. "I told you that you'd get stronger, Nidoking! And you did! Your stats are way higher now, you learned how to use Megahorn, and you look so cool!"
Skorupi was having a hard time containing her excitement too, as this was the first time she'd ever seen an evolution in the short time since she'd hatched from her egg. So, without even really thinking about it, she got a big smile on her face and climbed up Nidoking's body, stopping once she reached his shoulder. "Pi! Skor! Skorupi!" Naturally, this also made the Scorpion Pokémon look forward to her own evolution even more. She hoped that she'd be just as cool and powerful as Nidoking when she finally evolved, if not more so. All of this attention only served to elevate Nidoking's mood even higher, as he too was very excited. Excited to find himself an opponent and give his new form and power a test drive.
Just then, the moment shared between this venomous trio was interrupted by the appearance of yet another wild Pokémon. The trio was so focused on Nidoking's evolution that they didn't even notice the approach of the wild Surskit, but they all turned to face the Bug/Water type as soon as they heard the sound of its voice. As with the wild Mankey and female Nidoran, they all listened to what the Pond Skater Pokémon had to say before responding. And the one to offer up the response was Venom, regaining his composure and looking down at the wild Pokémon as he spoke. "Ah yes. I see. Well, I'm sorry that we deceived you, Surskit. We didn't mean to." The Poison type trainer offered Surskit a bow of apology once he'd finished speaking, even though neither he nor his Pokémon were liars. Not technically anyway.
Even so, Venom also figured that an apology alone wouldn't cut it. Especially since it didn't work with the female Nidoran either. So, with that in mind, Venom got another idea, raising his head about thirty seconds later. The ninja then began to dig through his bag once again, and called out to Skorupi as he did. "It looks as though we've found our next opponent, Skorupi. I have something in my bag that should finish this battle up quickly, but just in case, climb down off of Nidoking's shoulder and meet Surskit's challenge head on." Skorupi was quick to comply with Venom's orders, climbing back down Nidoking's body and facing the wild Surskit with a battle-ready look in her eyes. "Skor! Skorupi!"
Thankfully, before the two Pokémon started trading blows, Venom found the item he was seeking and pulled it out of his bag. "Ah ha! This should do the trick." In his hand, Venom held some kind of Poke Ball. A Net Ball to be exact. The perfect kind of ball for capturing both Water and Bug type Pokémon. And since Skurskit happened to be both, Venom figured that there was no better Poke Ball for the job of capturing the Pond Skater Pokémon than a Net Ball. Of course, Surskit wasn't a Poison type, but Venom hadn't forgotten about the Bug type trainer, a young man named Shinya Stinger, that he met a while back. Since an opportunity to catch a Surskit had presented itself, Venom thought that maybe Shinya would like to have it on his team, and decided to catch it for him. "Let's hope this works. Go, Net Ball!" With his eyes narrowed and locked on Surskit through the fog, Venom once again made use of his ninja training, throwing the orb in his hand with such accuracy that he actually managed to hit Surskit right between the eyes.
OOC: I'd like Nidoking to forget Peck in place of Megahorn please. And Venom is using one Net Ball in hopes of capturing the wild Surskit. Thanks.
