I am seriously loving this game. It's already been the cause of severe distractions as I simply can't put it down. I'm taking it pretty slow at the minute too what with all the many things going on. At the moment i'm just smashing around monsters for various drops. Decided to go the way of GS user this time as well. Gonna try out some other things at some point but thought i'd give GS a fair shake. Oh and Phoenix I have some bad news which I am not sure if it's confirmed or not... It would seem the online communities are separated by their regions. So Europeans can only hunt with other Europeans and so on for NA and JPN. I still need to try out the online though, however. It's just something I read. Also; **** you Barroth.

Funny. My friend Rudy dropped in for a random visit today (I had the house torn apart in cleaning, so it was embarrassing) and he brought over his Wii and his copy of this game with him. He was showing it to myself and my brother Patrick and trying to convince us to get this game so we can play online with him. It lasted a number of hours and now just finished with him felling something called a "Great Rappi" or something like that on his own. He went through a lot of recovery items and used alchemy (he called it) to make more of these potions.

THE GREAT JAGGIE! Haha, sounds like he's not doing too bad for himself. I tell you, the feeling of taking down your first GJaggie is unlike anything else. Then you get to the point where you smack 'em around like they're nothing. It's definitely worth investing in though, Nada. It can be pretty tricky but give it a day or two and you get ADDICTED. I was doing the Trick The Trickster quest today and flippin' Qurupeco summoned a Rathian. It was pretty funny as Qurupeco fled after a while and I thought... Pft, let's do this RATHIAN! It took me a while but I almost felled it. It turned out Qurupeco returned and Rathian fireballed it. D: After that I went for some Royal Ludroth hunting in free hunt. I;m trying to get as much aquatic combat experience as possible. *shakes fist at Gobul and ultimately, Lagiacrus*

Lagiacrus... isn't that the giant monster thing that greatly resembles the evil Buraki from the Dragon Wars movie? I saw that... Rudy encountered it on another mission, too. Something about collecting Monster Guts or something is when he ran into it. He tried being bold and ran up to the thing and gave it a few good (ineffective) stabs before running off. Didn't get hit... but he showcased his two days worth of skills by dodging its thunderballs for fun.

They do LOOK kinda similar. I'll give you that. Not seen the film though, unfortunately. So I can't really comment. Well today has been another productive session of Tri. I decided before I gave Gobul a proper go that i'd collect all the Barroth armour pieces and that actually didn't take too long at all. I had two repeat missions of the first Barroth encounter and by then I had enough for everything. Gobul on the other hand was definitely a prick. If you'll excuse the pun. *points at his little spikes* I was doing really well, smashing his lantern, making him swim as if he was really hurt and then somehow I lost him while he was in the 3rd area of Flooded Forest. I looked around all over and it wasn't until I got back to 6 that I came across him. Eventually he headed off to 8 and started beating the crap out of all the Ludroth. That's when I seized victory and carved some fairly meh pieces off of him. I also KO'd a Great Baggie today which was slightly uneventful. I'm glad he didn't venture into any of the cave areas. I also got a really pathetic amount of items from carving/spoils. So i'll have to repeat that a few times so I can upgrade my chieftain sword. Oh and... *looks at Gigginox* FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU!

Gobul has thrown me around like four times, I hate fighting it in the water! stupid fish : <
I did make a full set of Royal Ludroth armor though, I have yet to try it against the beast but Im hoping it will be enough also.

If you've got the R.Ludroth armour you should be better protected against Gobul. Might want some anti-paralysis charms to prevent his tail locking you out. Its hit me a few times and is aggravating to no end. Well damn. I went on today after seeing the video for a Reviante on MH Frontier and just got the urge to play some more of MHTri. Since this afternoon i've been playing it nonstop. I faced Gobul a few more times and I think i'm comfortable with facing him, it's just his charge and rolling that gets on my tits now and again. I also repelled Lagiacrus (Wow, that was easy. >_>) and also managed to lay the smack down on Rathian and Gigginox. Both of which weren't that hard, it just took a lot of preparation with Mega Potions and Antidotes. I'm about to finish off Lagiacrus for good so I think I should prepare some more and maybe invest in some better armour.

There is a CHANCE we can play together, rumor is your regional server is determined by your dis, so if I can burn off a PAL version of the game (Eurpoe) instead of my NTSC (north America) I should be able to connect to you =O

SERIOUSLY?! HOT DAMNATIONS that is brilliant news! If you ever get the chance i'd say go for it. I tested the online part today and it worked flawlessly so hopefully I won't suffer from too many network disconnections. Haha, best news all week really. Oh and is it true NA users have a special event quest for Jehn Mohran already?! I looked on the EU events and it doesn't seem to be around. Oh well, back to hoarding drops for me. I am still thinking it might be an idea to pound Lagiacrus a few more times for some of his rarer drops.

haven't checked event quests since dual Royal ludroth but IT WORKS Ijust need to TEST it with someone I know, <_________< looking at you, so hopefully sometime in the forseeable future I can get you to meet me somewhere and see if it really works.
Though I do need to start over since the disc ID's were slightly off : | which means my data on PAL is useless on NTSC and vice versa xD

Sorry about last night, I was really itching to give it a whirl myself with you but I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Namely revising for the mother of all tests that I had today was well as watching the endless coverage on UK's elections. It all ended in a hung parliament so lololol. Shame about the data being useless. I think that's gonna be a problem when I move back to my home in quaint old Bexhill as I won't be able to take the save data I have up here at uni. Oh well, it'll be good starting off without feeling too WTFed by everything. If we go online is it possible for us to drop items/armour for one another? If so, i'll have to try and gather you something. Today I saw Gunhammer too.
