The monstrous spirit laughed. Spiritomb created a ghostly hand and pointed to the several dozen souls floating around in its ethereal body. “They have memories of watching shows. Some of them. And I relish in those path lives and the moments I missed out on.” What could a wild ghostly Pokemon miss out on when it came to television, and couches, and boring modern living, you might ask? Apparently, a lot. At least, if you let this Spiritomb tell you about it, it was a lot.

“Now you’ve yapped enough. Played dirty, fell for none of my tricks, and act like this is some kind of game!” It’s voice shook the cave walls, causing a few stalactites that dangled from the ceiling overhead to come crashing to the ground below. Kevoal hopped out to take over Tikikala’s place, immediately receiving the full brunt of Spiritomb’s attack. Several shards poured on Kevoal’s shell, managing to cut some of his legs and a bit of his neck in the process.

“A TV Show is half a movie. And lots of them connected make a story that repeats over several….what’s the word?” Spiritomb stumbled, allowing Kevoal the chance to build up a small ball of mud with a specialized component. He slung the mud at Spiritomb, managing to knock the strange apparition back a bit. “HEY, STOP THAT! TRYING TO DISTRACT ME AGAIN, I SEE?! YOU DIRTY, NO GOOD, CHEAT! TAKE THIS!” Spiritomb roared, causing more showers of the stalactites to come crashing down all around Kevoal from its powerful voice.

Per guide, Spiritomb should have an ability. Since it's based on + Sp Atk Spiritomb, that's the ability. I have set it as it seems it goes missing from the battle screen lately.

Alex blinked comically as he watched the Spiritomb explained that it knew what shows were. He couldn't resist and immediately replied, "So all of your ghosts didn't move on in the same place? You have ghosts from different time period or what? Do they have memories of episodes of a show? Or a whole series? How does this work?"

He then watched as his Pokemon received the Spiritomb's payback attack, and the fire type bellowed in pain as the rocky stalactites cur his skin. Thankfully, his Torkoal conjured a small mudball at the Spiritomb, effectively cancelled out the boosts the spectral Pokemon had crafted.

"I'm not trying to distract you! You're the one who started talking! I thought you're just a talkative ghost who likes to flex your ability to talk to humans!" Alex resisted, arguing back. Seeing that the poison had been sitting long enough with the ghost type Pokemon and wearing it down, the trainer debated whether to keep his Torkoal or swap back into his grass type. He thought extremely carefully for a quick minute, and swapped out his Pokemon once again. "You did great, Kevoal. You're on again, Tikiakla! Use Reflect!"

"Of course I do! Only the most dark of souls can be bound together to form my being. It can take generations to harvest such prime energy," The spiritomb growled. "Enough of this! I will end you—" It used hex on Bayleef before it could even consider throwing up a reflect and promptly started to waver, its body seeming to struggle to stay formed together. "No. NO! NOOOOO! I won't lose. I won't...I will.. get my... reveeeeennnngeee..." Its growl became a squeaking wail as it was at last weak enough for the cleanse tag's effects to banish it from the room. 

And there, sitting quietly on the altar, were a small dark crystal, another totem amulet to prove victory, and a shiny TM disc.

The ralts guide quietly approached, the darkness no longer oppressive.

"It is done. The trial has been won."

The Spiritomb struck the Bayleef who had just returned to the field. However, it was further weakened and then succumbed to the poison powder earlier. The opponent growled and groaned in pain, as the Cleanse Tag glowed to banish it to the shadow realm. Soon enough, the Dark Cave was quiet once again, and the atmosphere felt lighter from the banished spectral Pokemon.

On top of the altar, were shiny prizes for completion of this trial, and even the Ralts had commented on it. "Phew, this trial was a little tough! Thank you, Ralts! I hope you have a good one now, with whatever you're doing next." In the back of his head, he wasn't sure if the tiny psychic Pokemon would find another Spiritomb for the next person commencing the trial, or release the Pokemon once again. Do they work together? Or perhaps, there were more Spiritombs that needed banishing, but only one could dominate the cave at a time.

Thanking his Pokemon, he had returned his Bayleef, and then headed toward back toward Pokemon Center to decide his chapter in his journey.
