Flushed in the face of autumn's chill, burning warm, tepid, and but just as eager to set out on his journey. A little venture of his own - well that's not entirely accurate. Sasha crouches down beside his loyal companion, heart fluttering from a meeting with a promised friend, and flits, hand raised to pat his head. "Are you ready, buddy? It's about time we set out, too, yeah?" His head tilts, the sun's rays twinkling in the reflection of his toothy grin. Jack the Charmander, responds in kind, cooing with flailing arms, begrudgingly splitting away from the blissful touch of his trainer. "Cha~ Char~! Ch.." Jack's jaw snaps with each lyrical utterance, a happy Pokemon, a kindred desire, flickering - ignited in the ember that burns at the tip of its tail. It swishes, cinders fading as the lizard marches on ahead. A brave explorer and the boy sunbathing in his vibrancy.
The two rascals depart, the littlest among the pair bravely leading the way, its arms swinging in a sprightly manner, side to side. Sasha can't help but giggle, "Be careful, Jack~ Who knows what scary Pokemon might be lurking in the grass~ I'm counting on you to protect me, partner~" It felt right for the boy to encourage the boldness - the unmatched, plucky gallantry that Jack was enthusiastically flaunting. The motivations were pure, and even if they weren't - it was positively adorable! Sasha parts his bangs and wipes his brow as he walks, and a stray strand of grass slips into the exposed gap at the hem of his pants to tickle at his ankles, causing a shiver to coil and spread up along his spine. "Eeep!" Sasha jumps, a fierce -by Sasha's account- yelp that causes Jack to spin in place and tamp over to his trainer's aid, a squeaky growl slipping from his clenched fangs as he puts himself between Sasha and the perceived danger.
"My hero!" Sasha rests a hand atop his head, a comforting touch to alleviate the protective Charmander's worries. "Sorry, sorry... Just some grass tickling at my leg. Guess I'm still a little nervous after all..." Everything is real now. All his dreams - his fantasies. It was too surreal, that he'd forgotten just how significant this first step was - how dangerous the journey ahead could be. And how safe he should truly feel with his partner by his side.
"Let's go together~" He'd coo at the gibbering Charmander and continue on his path.

The breeze flew through Sasha’s hair as he and his Charmander traversed down the route on their Journey. Pokemon of all kinds could be heard in all directions, it was very peaceful and all seemed to be going just as peacefully, at least at first glance it had seemed like that. In the nearby grass there was some rustling going on, but nothing could really be seen. As Sasha and his Pokemon continued down the path, something could be heard following them, but it couldn't really be seen, as it was using the tall grass to its advantage to stay out of sight, at least for the time being. Inside of the tall grass was a wild Sentret, and it was up to no good, like usual for Pokemon of this kind. It stayed low to the ground as it slowly and sneakily followed Sasha and his Pokemon from afar. It's not clear why the Sentret was doing this, but it was clear that the Pokemon was trying to do something, but what was it? Soon the Sentret decided it wanted to get ahead of the trainer, in order to watch from a different vantage point. The Sentret scurried on up ahead, to get in front of the Trainer, but made sure to stay inside of the tall grass. Once it had gotten a little ways in front of Sasha and the Charmander, it stopped inside of a patch of grass and peeked its head out at the trainer, unsure if it could be seen by the trainer or not. As it stood there, its tail wiggled behind it, and every now and then could be seen above the tall grass, unknown to the wild Pokemon that its tail was doing so. A wild Sentret is spying on you! The ambiance of nature - of Pokemon that lurked just out of sight of the duo as they traveled along the route, surrounded entirely by wilderness that served as perfect camouflage. The autumn breeze was sweet, and invigorating - the sizzle of a flickering tail cutting through the noise. The intrepid explorers on their journey. The odd shadowed silhouette of a passing bird-like Pokemon or the chittering of bugs in the brush, but something else was rustling in the grass, trailing behind ever so cautiously. Jack was the first to notice it, pausing to scour the periphery for the cause, but the little Charmander was just as easily distracted by the plethora of stimuli as his trainer was.
A whisper in the weeds - a stalking creature, and this time Sasha heard it, too. Jack had already waddled closer to the border separating sanctuary and the domain of wild Pokemon, flailing his arms about as he is like to do with clamoring squeaky growls to warn his partner. "I heard it, too, boy! What do you think it is? Waaaah~ I'm so excited~!" Sasha leans over, hands firmly planted above his knees, as his eyes squint to investigate. But he found nothing, and the scurrying seemed to cease almost immediately when the pair stopped moving. A soft, disappointed groan as the boy rises to continue on; and that's when he spots it. His heart stumbles, eyes widening for a moment before he realizes that the Pokemon following them, had already pushed on ahead, carefully watching from the tall grass directly in front of them. Its tail was sticking out, embarrassingly so - a wonder that neither Jack nor Sasha had spotted it sooner. "Psst... Jack! Over here~" He'd whisper and gesture to call the vigilant Charmander. "See if you can make friends with it, yeah~?" Sasha flashes a toothy grin, eyes shut as he encourages Jack, the little Charmander carefully stepping forward with an excitable babble.
"Cha? Charmander~! Cha! (Hello? You can come out. We won't bite, promise!)"

The Sentret kept his eyes on the trainer and his Pokemon as he watched from afar in the tall grass. The raccoon-like Pokemon tried its best to stay low to the ground and out of sight, but its big bushy tail seemed to have other plans, as it would pop up out of the grass, giving away his position from time to time, without him meaning to do so, as well as without his knowledge of doing so. As it watched the pair, it noticed they were looking around, could the Sentret have accidentally been heard? Could it have been seen because of its tail? The Sentret didn’t know but was hoping it was another reason. Before Sentret knew anything, the Charmander was already making his way over to it. Maybe it was going to something else? The Sentret thought to itself, but alas the Charmander walked right up to it and started speaking. Without skipping a beat the Sentret popped its head up and skipped around the Charmander in a flash. “In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil might beware of my power… Brown Lantern's light!” The Sentret shouted at the trainer's Pokemon. “I am the Brown Lantern!” It shouted as its ears covered its face like a superhero mask. The Sentret quickly stopped skipping about and just stood still looking at the Charmander and then over at its trainer and then brought its gaze back to the fire lizard once more. “Are you friend or foe?” It asked the fire type, as it held its arms up as if it was going to Karate strike at any moment. Brown Lantern has asked you a question! Level 3. What will Sasha do?

A Pokemon pounces from its covert cloak, the tall grass meant to serve as its camouflage if not for its big bushy tail. Sasha is momentarily astonished, his eyes trained on the skittering creature running circles around Jack. He recognizes this Pokemon. He's seen it time and time again, on television and in the distant wilderness propped up on its large tail just off the beaten path of well-traveled roads. Curious creatures but just as overly cautious, but for some reason, this one seemed to have guts - a sign of courage uncommon from its species. A Sentret! A giddy squeal slips undetected from his lips, as a fist clenches in excitement. Sasha was in love with the cute little critter already and Jack spun in circles in tandem with the aptly named Scout Pokemon. Jack gets dizzy, his eyes almost displaying a hypnotic swirl as he wobbles in place, stumbling a moment before he's jolted back to action.
Jack's eyes scrunch, furrowed at attention in response to the Sentret's raucous chattering, ears drooping to conceal his eyes for a reason unknown to Sasha. The boy crouches down to eye level, swaying back and forth as the breeze caresses his face, his smile still shining just as brightly. "What's it saying, Jack?" Sasha would coo, a finger lifting to tap at his cheek. "Does it want to come along?" His eyes beam with fervid anticipation, darting between the Sentret and his Charmander, serving as an impromptu translator.
The little Charmander wasn't quite sure what to make of their new acquaintance either, a scratchy chill, almost a purr; and the way his head bobs in contemplation at the Sentret's question. Jack takes a step forward, "Definitely friends! It's fun to be friends~!" Jack waddles around, making space as his arms make wild gestures, spreading out wide and then signaling an invitation while Sasha retrieves a Pokeball from his bag.
"Come with us! A brave hero is just what we need on our journey! So many people and Pokemon to help and make friends with!" Boundless innocence overflowing from the Charmander, a sunny smile - too bright and pure, chirping as his tail twists into joyful wriggles. Sasha stretches out his arm, Pokeball clutched in shaky hands; an anxious first attempt to gently tap the heroic Sentret with the Pokeball to capture it. If the worst came to pass - if blows were to be struck. Sasha would opt to throw the Pokeball instead.
[Jack the Charmander tries to convince the Sentret to come along. Sasha uses a Pokeball on Sentret.]

<Friends...> The 'brown lantern' lowered its paws of justice and narrowed its little eyes, ears twitching with suspicion. <I suppose as long as you are not a dastardly evil doer, we could be friends. But I am watching you, charmander! You and your human are verrrrrry suspicious, being out here in the cold. Shouldn't a fire type stay indoors when it is frosty outside?> It lowered itself a bit, dropping from its tail to its hindpaws as it looked Jack over. <You want me...to come with you and your human.> Its chitters were slower now, drier, as it considered the offer. <I have heard that traveling with humans do allow for pokemon to do more good than those of us that are bound to our wild territories. Very well. I will accept your offer. But be warned, cross me and you will face the wrath of the brown lantern!> It struck a fighting pose, just in time for a pokeball to bounce off its head. There was a flash, a wiggle and then silence. The sentret was caught!
