<What happened to backtracking to Violet to challenge the Totem Trial there? This is just some musty ruin. You are getting distracted again.>
"No need to be so grumpy, Baxxy. I know where the trial is, and it's not going anywhere. How could I possibly resist THIS now that I know its here. I mean, these are the most intact Ruins I've seen in my life. Most of the ones I've seen were all collapsed and crumbled, and these...they're so well-preserved. No wonder archeologists are crawling all over the place. It's an absolute honor to be able to explore! To experience a part of history! Maybe we could even discover something that hasn't been seen before! Wouldn't that be marvelous?!"
Freya whirled to face the little Frigibax that was waddling behind her, looking more annoyed than intrigued by her trainer's excitement. She paused and started to laugh softly, tucking a lock of hair behind one ear.
"Don't worry...I won't forget your lunch~"
<Whatever...>
With a smile, Freya returned to her explorations, topaz eyes gleaming with awe, a gloved hand skimming the sandstone walls and the intricate carvings left by a culture long since lost to time. As she walked, she heard a soft, pitiful cry, like that of a wounded pokemon. Freya frowned and scampered that way, uncertain of what she would find, but unwilling to let even a wild pokemon just suffer if she could do something about it.
It took a while, but she caught sight of something strikingly bright all wedged up in the shadows of a crack in the wall. She drew closer. "Oh...that's a swablu," she murmured. "Are you hurt, little one? What are you doing in here? And what's all this stuff you've got in your feathers?"
Distracted by the little bird, Freya wouldn't notice anyone else in the ruins, even if they approached her. She was too busy coaxing the little creature out of the hole so that she could inspect it for injury.
<Mama!> cheeped the swablu sadly. <It's cold...Where are you?>
"Shhh, shhh it's okay. It's okay. I'll help you look. Here, maybe a berry will make the ouch go away?"

Having nowhere better to go for the time being, Trixie wandered back into the Ruins of Alph. The archaeologists at the Digsite had to explain to her that they couldn't let her in without another properly certified digging permit, but she was free to examine the massive chambers whose walls were covered with strange inscriptions - if there had once been anything valuable here at all, it had long since been picked clean by the time the digging crews arrived in the area. Thus it was that Trixie prepped some supplies at the nearby Pokemart, and set off with a small team into the mysterious ruins.
The inscriptions were indeed like nothing she had ever seen before. Trixie irreverently ran her fingers over the lines and dots, now that there were no stuffy museum guards here to stop her from "appreciating" the art. As she looked from one carving to the next, she noted that they were all similar enough in style to make it clear they had all been done by the same person (or Pokemon?) - it almost looked like a secret code of some sort, the kind she'd read about in spy thrillers. She was unable to decipher what any of it meant. Logic puzzles had never been her strong suit. For all she could tell it was meaningless graffiti, some thousand-year-old artist's idea of a joke. Well, she had to give them props for that. Covering all these walls would have been quite a feat, even for a team of people. September walked alongside her, the flickering flame on his tail casting long shadows along the halls as he kept a lookout. He hadn't been keen on exploring these monuments in the first place - danger could leap out of the darkness at any time!
Fortunately, the ambient lighting was good enough that she could see what looked like two figures up ahead, an unfamiliar Pokemon and a girl roughly her age hunched over and staring intently at something on the wall. No, as she drew closer, she realized it was in the wall - somehow wedged into a tiny crack, perhaps in a hasty attempt to hide a valuable treasure from thieves. Are you hurt? she heard the girl say, followed by a pathetic cheep that she instantly recognized as similar to Cotillion's. A Swablu!
"Hey..." she called out softly, hoping to get the bluenette's attention from a distance so she wouldn't startle her too much. "I heard someone needs help?" But before she could arrive close enough to take a good look at the wall, she felt a tug on her leg, as September frantically waved at something that had snuck up behind - no, around - the pair of trainers.
They weren't alone!

The Ruins of Alphs, labeled one of Violet’s Top 5 Sightseeing Places in their local brochures, brought in a hoard of tourists who would flock in droves. Several families traveled through the dank, dark recesses, marveling at the markings etched into the stone walls that surrounded them. Tour guides led most of the groups down different stretches of the open chambers, easily filling the tourists with tons of interesting facts most would forget by the time they returned back to their hometowns, eyes wide in excitement and brains wired to share all of the fun details with their beloved family members. Some traveled as Freya and Trixie instead, alone after negotiating their entrance to the site with proof that they were more than capable of handling themselves with the gift of the local town’s gym’s badge. Strange things stirred along those very markings on the stone walls Trixie admired. Was it all in the young girl’s head? Where strange inscriptions remained, perhaps one twitched or another sneezed. And when she glanced away? One would pull its body out of the wall, only to blend back into the limestone as though it were only her imagination, should Trixie take a quick glance back – swearing that they were more than just writings on the wall. When she contended herself to check on Freya, whose mind was obliviously occupied by the strange looking bird stuck in one of the chipped holes in the limestone walls, the murals came to life! A luxurious mythological Pokemon crawled right out of a painting, large pincers attached to a shell-encased body that chased after Trixie and Freya in an instance. “Buuuu Toooo!” It screamed in alarm, disappearing without a trace should they attack the strange apparition. Beside it was another – a powerful pterodactyl who swooped overhead. “Daac ttyyyyl!” It screeched! Eventually, when the illusions faded from view – there would remain only two strange looking Pokemon. One shaped like an odd letter only vaguely symbolic of the modern day ‘u’ and another that looked like an exclamation point. Both had a singular large eye that they used to peer out and stare at the world curiously, and of which they used to study both Freya and Trixie. They would turned from their illusions they played in jest to hostile, chattering loudly as a strange power encircled their body, should the two girls shatter their illusions. A Pair of Unown Appeared! Level 12 Unown (U) & Level 8 Unown (!) respectively. What will the two girls do? Shinies? vuRdNOF9p_1-42 p_1-421-42·1-42

Freya managed to comfort the sad little swablu with a berry when she heard a voice behind her. She rose to her feet and turned, glancing to see a young woman behind her, looking a little alarmed at whatever she herself had seen. Before Freya could ask what was wrong, the very walls seemed to warp and distort, the murals of ancient pokemon suddenly springing to life! Spectral forms lifted off the walls, weapons held with dangerous intent! She clutched the swablu to her chest and lunged away, grabbing Trixie's wrist and pulling the girl with her.
"Sorry!" she said, dark hair clinging to her now sweat-dampened face. Freya glanced behind them and saw what looked to be a freakin' aerodactly and tried to drag Trixie down into a crouch to avoid the swooping creature. "Sorry again! I don't know what's going on...but we should get out...wait..." She paused and squinted a bit.
A crack in the ceiling cast a beam of light down between them and the strange creatures chasing them. As the living murals lurched closer, they passed beneath the light and proved...translucent.
"Those...aren't real," she murmured. "They're...illusions?" Freya wouldn't claim they couldn't hurt them, as that would be foolish without knowing the cause. However, it wasn't too long before the mischief makers behind the trick revealed themselves to be a pair of unown. She blinked and let go of Trixie, a little embarrassed over her reaction, "Are you okay? I really am sorry for grabbing you like that. You really never know in places like this...curses and all that tend to just... have a way of happening. And nobody likes being cursed."
The smothered swablu in her arms popped up and cheeped at the unown, upset at their causing a scene. Freya smiled and plucked the tiny bird out of the air once more, "Now, now, I don't think you're well enough to battle. But I think I know who can help me with these two. Orthworm, go!"
She sent out Orthworm and watched as the steel-type twisted to peer at the odd pokemon before it.
"Oh, I am Freya by the way. Do you mind helping me out here? I think I might have come into these ruins a might bit unprepared~" She rubbed the back of her head with a sheepish smile. "Especially since that one over there probably won't lift a claw to battle pokemon so much weaker than her..." She eyed the little dragon that was ambling up to them, undisturbed and annoyed by the ruckus.
<Why should I? You are right, it is NOT worth my time or effort.>

Trixie would rapidly find herself being grabbed and pulled along by the ponytailed woman, as strange apparitions appeared to spring out of the walls and lunge at them. September would backpedal out of the way of a shellfish's slashing claws, while a screeching, swooping flier tried to snatch up Trixie with its talons, causing her would-be rescuer to drag her downward to the ground, where she very nearly tripped and fell before managing to catch herself with a hand just in time. September angrily shouted at the aggressive Pokemon, spitting fireballs that merely disappeared into harmless puffs of smoke against the walls. His tiny hands balled into fists, he looked like he wanted to sprout wings and chase after the offending pterodactyl Pokemon, when they passed through a shaft of light pouring down from a crack in the ceiling and vanished nearly as suddenly as they had appeared, leaving only a pair of oddly-shaped, monocular creatures floating through the air.
"They're...illusions?" Trixie heard the other trainer say. Now that she could catch her breath, she noticed the Swablu wrapped in the bluenette's other arm, cheeping agitatedly at the mystery Pokemon that had just startled them and were now glowing with hostile intent. She nodded along as the woman - Freya - said something about curses and caution, before sending out a large wormlike Pokemon with a steel shell around its neck. "I'm Trixie... and yeah, I think I'm gonna be okay," she said, rubbing her knee where it had banged against the ground during their frantic escape attempt. She had so many questions - about what Freya was doing here, about what would compel her to risk her life for a trio of complete strangers like that - but those would have to wait until their immediate problem was taken care of. "Two against two it is, then? September! Let's go!"
Fortunately, unlike Freya's froglike dragon, her own reptilian Pokemon was ready and willing to battle the black hieroglyphs. The Charmander pointed a finger at them before calling out harshly, <Don't you know that's dangerous? Someone could have gotten seriously hurt! You should be ashamed of yourselves!> When the Unown made no response, a beam of green, blue, and yellow flames began to gather in the lizard Pokemon's mouth. He would charge this energy up for a few moments before blasting it at the chief offender - the stick-shaped figure that had manifested the illusion of the Aerodactyl.

The duo Unown levitated around the two humans with a strange stare. Even as September growled loudly, trying to help the wild Pokemon understand how hurtful their actions were, they remained quiet. The psychic energy that surrounded them carried with it, a strange gust of wind altogether, causing the inner walls of the ruins to rattle and shake from the effort. Many of the other travelers began running towards the nearest exit, their trembling voices clamoring about some tornado on the horizon. The powers of the strange looking Pokemon carried with them the makeshift weather phenomenon, creating the battlefield between themselves and the two girls’ Pokemon. The exclamation mark looking Unown tilted its entire body as it stared curiously at September. When the small flame-tailed reptilian Pokemon fired a wave of colorful draconic energy, it jumped back and screeched at the top of its lungs. It’s friend swooped in, immediately surrounding September with psychic energy it used to uplift him and toss him several feet back, towards the walls of the inner ruins. The exclamation mark Unown turned its attention towards Orthworm instead. It focused on its powers, creating miniature illusions of Pidgey that were barely an inch tall. There were thousands of them and it used them to invade Orthworm by surrounding him on all sides with the apparitions. They chirped angrily at Orthworm whilst flapping their wings relentlessly, creating large gusts in all directions that pushed and prodded Orthworm in circles. Clearly, it wanted to send the large worm spiraling backwards as well, but wasn’t quite a strong as its friend. "Orthworm, use smack down!" Freya called out as the unown bombarded them with attacks. First one of them grabbed her new companion's charmander with psychic energy and literally threw her into a wall in response to her using dragon breath. Then the second created apparitions that looked like pidgey that found every vulnerable spot possible on poor Orthworm. The steel type would normally be quite unbothered by those attacks, but this time, well...she was flinching away.
Once she regained her bearings, she had no issues wrapping around a nearby chunk of rock (a piece of the ruins that had long ago collapsed into a bits of debris) and threw it as hard as she could at those floating nuisances.
Swablu peeped in her arms.
"Nice to meet your Trixie. These pokemon are really agitated...I wonder why they decided to attack us. There's lots of folks touring the ruins. Is it because we are away from the main path?" The badges she possessed meant that she had certain liberties—she was trusted to not be a hazard or to need supervision while here. Pokemon prowled everywhere, even here, where people roamed, taking photos and listening to guides, but they might need protecting from the wild creatures that lived here.
<They heard your annoying voice and decided they wanted you gone> mocked Frigibax, still being pointedly disinterested and useless for this fight. She scratched her face. <If you were smart, we would have skipped out on this whole ruins thing and just had lunch. Look at you, you're a mess. That leg of yours is going to give out on you if you keep flailing around.>
Freya blew some of her highlights from her face and glowered down at her pessimistic pokemon. "Don't be rude. You being lazy is why this is taking so long."
<Orthworm has this handled. It's not as if they're setting her on fire.>
"Don't jinx us." She shook her head. "I think we will be fine, Trixie. I'm not sure how much they can actually do to us... It almost seems like they're trying to run us off by making as big of a scene as possible. And it likely has worked in the past. But we just happened to see through it."
She set her jaw and ignored the throbbing pain in her hip and knee. She would be fine. Once this battle was over she could sit down and rest it.

Now that Trixie had a moment to catch her breath, she could try to figure out what they were dealing with. The odd-shaped Pokemon's ability to cast illusions told her they were some kind of Psychic-type, but why did they look so similar, yet so different, at the same time? Perhaps she should have gone with the tour guides instead of wandering off on her own, but Trixie had never had much patience for being lectured to and only moving at the pace of the slowest person in the group. Even starting in elementary school, she had had a habit of wandering off on field trips. Growing up in a safe city with well-paid and overbearing chaperones, she had never managed to get up to too much trouble before. Now, in the wilds of Johto, however... it was a very different story.
The Pokedex clicked to life as she pointed it at one of the one-eyed black figures. "Unown. The Symbol Pokemon. This Pokémon is shaped like hieroglyphs on ancient tablets. Although research is ongoing, it is a mystery as to which came first, the ancient writings or the various Unown. Its flat, thin body is always stuck on walls. Because different types of Unown exist, it is said that they must have a variety of abilities." As she was processing this information, she realized September's growls had provoked the Unown into action. THe U-shaped one glowed with psychic power, as it defended its comrade by lifting up the Charmander with psychic power and flinging him backward into the nearest wall, cracking some of the hieroglyphic markings on impact. September yelped in pain as he tried to bring himself unsteadily to his feet. Trixie temporarily forgot all about Freya and the Swablu as she ran to her Pokemon, touching him on the back to see if he was okay. The Charmander only growled and glared at the Unown, dismissing her concern with a sharp "Char!" He was still on his feet, and he could still fight!
Trixie would get to see the long and thin Unown attempt to catch the worm with the proverbial early bird, as a swarm of illusory Pidgey dive-bombed Freya's Orthworm from all angles. However, despite the apparent biological advantage, she could see it wasn't having much effect on the worm's resilient body. "Focus on the weaker one first. Another Dragon Breath!" the trainer said, pointing at the bird-illusion Unown. Rushing back into the fray, September launched another ray of colorful flames at the Unown, as out of the corner of her eye Trixie could see Orthworm wrapping her tail around a chunk of rock, before flinging it at the same target.
The noises of another Pokemon drifted toward her ears. Trixie finally turned to look at Freya, only to see her apparently communicating with her grey frog Pokemon - which her Pokedex identified as "Frigibax. The Ice Fin Pokemon." Her eyes lit up as girl and dragon were apparently engaging in lively banter. "You can actually understand what Pokemon are saying?" she gasped. "That's so cool! I always wish I could have learned. How did you figure it out? Do you have to go to a special school or something?" It occurred to her, then, that this was probably not the right time for this conversation, what with frightened tourists running about pell-mell and equally frightened tour guides trying to get their panicking charges under control. "I mean... you'll have to tell me once we deal with our current problem. How is Swablu doing?" Her face fell as she realized what had most likely happened. "Was it also attacked by the Unown and ended up trapped here?"

Tour guides flustered around the easier trails, calling out to the once happy-go-lucky tourists following at their heels to see all of the remains of the once prosperous ancient times. They screamed, panicked, nearly trampling over each other to rush for cover. Carefully, each were plucked from their makeshift hideaways and lead back to the opening, out of the ruins for their safety. “Is that everyone?!” A buff, burly man called out from the opening to the ruins. “I think so. Close her up!” Another commented loudly. Meanwhile, the two girls battled against the psychic letters in a heated match. They spiraled high above Freya and Trixie, hovering seemingly out-of-reach of Orthworm and September. One lone eye on each of the strange looking hieroglyphs spun around in their sockets, locked on their opponents, as a strange wind kicked up throughout the old, tattered ruins. Where the breeze came from or how it was caused still seemed like a mystery, as the large walls around them were seemingly enough of a structural force to keep them at bay. As Freya’s Orthworm picked up chunks of fallen debris and slung it through the air, the Unown’s chatter intensified. It sounded like a million screams echoing and bouncing off the tattered remains of the ruin’s structural walls. Several smaller bits of the debris struck Unown ! in several spots, causing the psychic type to flop helplessly on the ground. As it struggled to raise itself back up into the air, September’s hot draconic breath scorched its skin. His flames were so intense that the Unown shrieked in utter agony, before fading back into the hieroglyphics etched on the floor of the old ruins. Unown U turned its hasty attention on Orthworm in anger and spite, focusing all its attention on surrounding the other Pokemon with a strange, psychic energy. It used its force to pick the large worm up and tossed her back through the cave, towards the now sealed-off exit, trying to send Orthworm packing for good. Freya looked at Trixie and smiled a little sheepishly, forgetting that she had been babbling aloud within earshot of another person. Many folks just dismissed her talking to her pokemon as just another trainer 'interpreting' her pokemon's cries and dismissed the oddness without second thought. But Trixie picked up on the fact that she was actually understanding words and communicating with the grumpy dragon.
Despite the intense battle, the bombardment of questions broke the thin layer of potential ice between them and had Freya focused entirely on the younger girl for a moment. Listening. A little flattered. A little amused.
"I did not learn how to understand them," Freya said. "I simply could, as natural as breathing. Same as how pokemon understand each other...understand us despite the many languages we humans speak across the globe. Though I am certain some people have learned to understand poke-speech in the same way that some pokemon have learned to speak a human language, I'm afraid I'm not one of them, so I can't tell you how to learn the skill or how long it would take. Sorry..."
She focused back in on the battle and saw one unown fall, leaving a single, stronger unown still standing...er, floating. "Orthworm, keep up the pressure, smack down again!" She took out a pokeball and rolled it in her hand. "If this unown keeps causing troubles, I will try to catch it, okay? It seems to be getting agitated and I don't want anyone to get hurt if it lashes out when weakened." Already the tour guides had the normal folks hurried out, leaving the two trainers to handling the tense situation on their own. Probably a wise course of action, all things considered.
Then the subject switched to Swablu and she looked down at the little puffball tucked against her chest in her free hand, "I don't know, possibly? It was hiding, scared, in the wall. It's possible...and it has a lot of stuff stuck in its wings too. I'm worried some kids were cruel and covered it in candies or something awful and the poor thing will need a bunch of feather cut off..." She adjusted her hold of swablu as Orthworm picked up another chunk of rock and gave a great heave, hurling the large stone at the remaining unown to ground it and maybe keep it from playing such nasty pranks again in the future!

The tour guide herding the last of the panicked tourists out the door and sealing up the chamber would go unnoticed to Trixie, who was still hip-deep in battle with the pair of mischievous Unown. The two Pokemon executed a perfect combination, with Orthworm's flung rubble slamming into the ! Unown and knocking it to the ground. As it struggled to get back up, it was too dazed to avoid September's fiery breath, which drained the last of its energy and caused it to flop to the ground limply. To Trixie's amazement, it simply faded back into the stone floor, as if it had never been alive in the first place. Despite Orthworm being tossed around by the other Unown's psychic power, she seemed to be doing just fine - although had that wall been a wall before? It was just then that Trixie noticed the way she had come into the chamber no longer seemed to be the way out. Uh-oh.
Trixie sighed with disappointment as Freya explained that she had never learned to understand Pokemon, some people were just born that way. She wondered where Freya had come from to be born with such a skill, but decided it would be rude to pry - and if it wasn't something that could be taught, it would probably just lead to further disappointment. Like how some people were born Psychics and others weren't. For Trixie's part, she had been born in a family that seemingly only cared about being glamorous and making money. Maybe a lot of people would have given anything to be born in that life. But sadly, unlike Pokemon, one did not simply trade families.
"You want to catch it? Sounds fine by me. I barely even know what it is, anyway, but I'm sure that if we wander around these ruins a bit more, we'll run into others." Orthworm was doing most of the heavy lifting - literally - in any case, and Trixie saw no problem with letting Freya have the first catch. The Steel-type lifted another piece of rubble into the air and threw it at the Unown. "September, keep it up! Use Dragon Breath and try to paralyze it!" Status afflictions would make Pokemon easier to catch, she knew, and the faster they deal with this problem Pokemon, the faster they could start figuring out how to get out of here.
The Swablu was still timidly hiding against Freya's chest, and probably would be until the battle was over, preventing Trixie from getting a good look at it, but based on Freya's description it couldn't have been good. "Poor thing... it's gone through a hard time." With the chamber sealed off getting it to a Pokemon Center anytime soon was out of the question. Trixie started looking through her backpack for anything that she could use to help. Feather clippers? A brush, maybe? She had gathered so many random bits and bobs along her journey. Surely at least one of them ought to be of some use! Even if she couldn't groom the Swablu, perhaps a little food would put it more at ease. "Is it hungry?" she asked Freya. "I think I still have some sandwiches in my bag."

Unown U floated up to the roof of the ancient ruins and glared at the two girls. They were bad humans bringing in their negative energies to the sacred place. Its eyes began to glow with a fierce intensity, bright pinks and purples blending seamlessly into each other. It caused many of the bits of debris around the girls to slowly float up into the air. Even if the fight was between Pokemon, the wild Unown turned its attention instead to the trainers that seemed to pull their strings. Take them out. Teach all of humankind why respecting sacred grounds was important! It wobbled a bit off pace, though, as soon as Orthworm picked up large chunks of rocks and hurled them at the small, diminutive creature. It severed Unown U’s power, causing the flying projectiles that were previously spinning wildly out of control to clatter onto the rocky floor below. Orthworm managed to keep both his trainer and Trixie out of harm’s way, for now. It spun, its heat blazing inside of its chest, and slammed several large chunks at its enemies. They would rain down upon its enemies relentlessly, striking September with their psychic energy on his back and sides. September’s draconic breath scorched the small creature once more. So lost in its moment of revenge was it, that Unown U could not think to move out of the way. It barely avoided an added status condition but paid a much higher price instead. The flames, the way they burned as though they were burning deep inside of its soul…! Unown U spun around whilst shrieking at the top of its lungs! It was a critically powerful attack and stole much of Unown’s energy. In a last ditch effort, it cloaked the entire ruins in a strange, pitch-black landscape as though to confuse the two girls and make it impossible for them to see. "Once this battle is over, we can have a sit and have a snack together, yeah?" Freya replied. "I'm sure it will love to have a bite or two of that sandwich." Suddenly the world around them was pitch black, the U unknown taking it upon itself to continue disorienting the girls for the crime of wandering off the tour path. However, as seasoned trainers, a little darkness wouldn't stop them...right?
Freya prepared a pokeball and using her free arm, she threw it, sending the capsule sailing at that white eye floating the pitch black void they now stood within.
"Man, this one is being tricky. They're very protective of these ruins...Look, Unown, we don't mean any harm. You don't have to keep this up. You can rest." Just stay in a ball and everything would be better and over.
Poor little swablu peeped fearfully.

It seemed they had really angered the Unown now. Bits of rubble started to float up in the air around the two teenage girls. As much as Trixie tried to remind herself that it was just an illusion, she couldn't help but feel that it was terrifyingly real this time. Pokemon were supposed to battle each other - not humans! Were the Unown trying to drive them out by any means necessary? Fortunately, she didn't have to ponder that question for long, as Freya's Orthworm smacked it down onto the ground with chunks of rock, disorienting the psychic cyclops and causing the rocks to fall harmlessly to the ground with a loud clatter but nothing further. September took advantage of the Unown's momentary confusion and its grounded state, finding its weak point with a searing blaze of heat that caused the small black Pokemon to shriek wildly. At such close range, the Charmander was unable to avoid the psychic's retaliation, and he yelped as psychic power slammed into him from all directions. In anger, he rushed at the Unown and attempted to rake it with the sharp claws at the ends of his forearms.
"September, hang in there!" Trixie gasped, but before she could run to comfort the lizard, the world suddenly turned pitch black. She could still hear the echo of Freya's words - something about how it would be nice to have a snack together - before she lost sight of the blue-haired teen, along with everything else. "Freya? September? Orthworm?!" she called out desperately. A faint "Char!" reached her ears, but lost in the fog as she was, she was unable to tell the direction her Pokemon was in or how far away he was.
It seemed it would all be up to Freya, who was still trying to placate the Unown and convince them that the girls meant no harm to either them or the ruins they called home. Trixie heard the sound of a Pokeball being thrown, and saw a single floating white eye disappear in a flash of light that pierced the darkness. It seemed that the Ball had struck home! Once the Unown was captured, the illusion would no doubt disperse, and they could get back to exploring the Ruins... or rather, trying to find a way out of them.
[words=384] to Incubator September used Scratch! (will only matter if capture fails)

The Poke Ball soared through the air and pulled Unown inside with ease. As soon as it fell on the stony grounds of the ancient ruins, Unown fought desperately against the contraption. They couldn’t imprison it like this! This was no fair! Try as it might, however, Unown simply couldn’t manage to break free from the device. After a long moment, a success ding announced Freya’s perfect capture. Some of the voices from other travelers outside slipped between the cracks. “Is everyone out?” Followed by murmurs, loud cries, and a couple of angry voices demanding their money back for the excursion they booked to see the place. “I think so. We should probably keep it sealed at least for a while.” Well.. that couldn’t be good, could it? Now the walls around them were glowing. It was no longer a secret that ancient Pokémon shaped vaguely like letters with a singular large eye lurked inside of the ancient inscriptions. And they were definitely watching Freya and Trixie. Would the two girls brave their adventure in the ruins further? Or, perhaps, it was time to start screaming for help to try and find a way out? Capture?
