OOC: I'm using this thread as a continuation of my egg hatching. Previously, before I decided to discontinue " Ode to Cherry", I had accumulated... 1,383/1,500 Words 2/5 Posts When this post is done, there is no doubt I'll have more than enough words to meet the requirement. All that'll be needed then will be the remaining posts.
" Pay attention people, pleeeaaassseee!" was the most often heard cry from the teacher at the trainer's school who simply preferred to be called by his first name, Earl. He was the head school teacher and principal of the infamous "Earl's Pokemon Academy", located down the street from the Violet City Pokemon Gym. For many Pokemon trainers, this was a good place to pay a visit to when beginning their journey. And Nadia, who already had attended six years of Trainer School before starting her own journey, didn't bother with taking in the basic trainer classes... a simple quick evaluation test had already proven that when she asked for a week's worth of school tutoring. They had placed her in the so-called "Gym Leaders" course for intermediate trainers. This doesn't mean she would be a certified Gym Leader for it just simply was the name of it. Regardless, the experience was certainly worth while. Earl was a bit of a froot-loop in complete honesty, often prancing around the classroom and spinning about as he gave his lectures. But you cannot deny that they were interesting. Nadia also joined in some practice battles there at the school, both with her own and Pokemon she borrowed from the school. She showed to have a firm understanding of things, luckily. So the week went by very quickly as she had a lot of fun with it, something she just really needed after all the mishaps she has run into since she started. When leaving the school, Earl had spoken to Nadia personally and heard her little adventure out. The experience in Mt. Silver, Cherrygrove City, and the return to New Bark made for a fantastic tale. In recommendation, he said it would certainly be worth the trip to train at the Sprout Tower. He also recommended that she make room for a new Party Pokemon as well, so she Nadia gave it some thought on who should put away... then she decided she would stop by the Pokemon Center and deposit Katie the Skitty into her PC. It was a cute Pokemon, certainly, but she had Cheeky who was already half normal type. But she felt like she could fall back on Katie if needed later. She might even withdraw it later, all depending on when this egg would hatch. The sun had started to set when Nadia decided to climb the Sprout Tower. There were a few tourists there, but she wanted to get to the top. She just wondered what Earl meant when he said to leave a spot open on her party...? Anyway, that doesn't matter now. Pushing open the door, her bag slung over her shoulder and the beautiful, shiny egg she has been looking after for a little over a week in the other arm, she peered inside the dark Sprout Tower. She pondered again what this place would hold in store for her...

Just as Nadia entered the tower, there were two Bellsprouts attacking a small fire mouse Pokemon. It was a Cyndaquil! The poor thing was trying to get to the top of the tower all by itself, but it seemed to be in pretty bad shape.
"Cynda... cynda... QUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIL!!" it cried, unleashing an Ember at one of the Bellsprouts, knocking it out instantly. There was one left now, and the Cyndaquil was barely holding on.
A wild Cyndaquil (Level 10) appeared!

Oh! A Cyndaquil! Nadia wondered to herself if this was what Earl meant by making room on her team for a new Pokemon? Well, it sure seemed likely since these little fire breathers were certainly rare to come by unless you had some kind of connection to Prof. Elm in New Bark. Only now did Nadia think that she should've stopped by the lab when she had the chance, but it just completely slipped her mind... ah well. There's this Cyndaquil now, and it was in need of a little help, pronto!
"This oughta be an easy enough for you to handle alone, Cheeky!" Nadia said, holding the shiny egg safely in one arm as she got out Cheeky's Pokeball from her bag. "You're growing strong, buddy! Help out the little Cyndaquil! Attack Bellsprout with a Peck attack!"
Nada threw the Pokeball and out popped the ever stellar bird, Cheeky the Taillow. With a chirping cry, it swooped around the central pillar of the Sprout Tower before making a dive-bomb strike at the standing Bellsprout with a Peck attack!
OOC: No need to keep track of word count now that I exceeded the limit. So the post count is now officially 4/5! *is getting giddy*

Just as Nadia's Cheeky engaged in battle, Nadia's egg began to move slightly. It would start to hatch soon! Cheeky soon dived down at the Bellsprout and landed a powerful Peck attack, leaving it on the brink of fainting!
The Cyndaquil smirked and took the opportunity of landing one last Ember at the Grass type, knocking it out instantly! Cheeky landed beside the fire mouse and cocked his head to the side in greeting.

"Oh?" Nadia said once her little Taillow made quick work of the Bellsprout. A perfect one hit knock out! But that wasn't what had her attention right now. Rather, it was the egg she had obtained sometime the previous week and had been looking after very carefully ever since! Well, what a relief! She was half afraid if the egg was even alive! But now, the moment of truth and the egg was ready to hatch! "Cheeky, come here! And you too, little Cyndaquil! Look! This egg is about ready to hatch!"
Cheeky hopped on over and cocked his head back and forth in a typical bird manner, watching the egg. Nadia had also got down on her knees to give the two Pokemon a better view of the egg that was ready to hatch.

The egg soon began to shake rapidly. It stopped shaking for a moment, then began to crack. "Cynda?" the Cyndaquil cried out, tilting its head in curiousity.
The egg began to crack even more, until it cracked open completely and out came a small pink rabbit Pokemon, a small yawn leaving it and it rubbed its eyes, peering its small eyes to the Pokemon surrounding it, and Nadia.
"Neary?" it cried, looking up at Nadia with a tilt to its head. It then smiled widely. "Buneary! Buneary!!" it cried out happily, putting its small hands to its cheeks to stop itself from blushing.
Congratulations! A baby Shiny Buneary has hatched!

Shiny BunearyName: Strawberry Gender: Female Level: 5 Attacks: Pound, Defense Curl, Foresight, Attract.Nature/Personality: Childish Other: ZapdosZulu Promotional Pokémon; Easter 2010 And there it was, an adorable, out-of-this-world cute baby Buneary! And not only that, but it was also pink! This was an extremely rare color for such a little Pokemon since they tend to be brown! ...not that brown isn't cute enough for it, but the pink really added an extra hint of cuteness to an already cute Pokemon! And good thing it is a girl, too! It all just matched perfectly! " Well, I think I have the perfect name for you!" Nadia smiled back at the Buneary. The fur of the little baby bunny was also extremely soft, too. She couldn't get over the endless amount of cuddle potential this thing had. " Your name is now Strawberry! What do you think?" Strawyberry pulled the fluff of fur over her face and wiggled back and forth in Nadia's arms. It was very excited and full of energy. This made Nadia smile as well, but Cheeky seemed less than amused. He had single... err, "wingedly" defeated a Bellsprout and now his triumphant victory was being overshadowed by a giggeling baby Buneary. He turned his beak up to the ceiling and huffed. " Oh, cool it, Cheeky. You still did a fantastic job. I'll make sure I give you a proper reward later." With that, she recalled the jealous Taillow back into his Pokeball. Now, next thing on the agenda- This Cyndaquil. " And what about you? Are you okay, little Cyndaquil? What were you doing fighting those two Bellsprout all by your lonesome?"

"Cynda, cyndaquil!" the fire mouse cried, rushing towards the set of stairs and looked back at Nadia. "Cynda, cynda!" it cried once more. It seemed that the Cyndaquil wanted to reach the top of the tower, and was motioning Nadia to follow it.
"Neary, buneary!" Strawberry cried, pointing towards the Cyndaquil and the set of stairs. She seemed to know the fire type's quest as well.

Seems like the little guy wanted to get to the top of the tower. Well, if there weren't anything but Bellsprout, this shouldn't be too bad to get by. Plus she came here to get to the top as well. Nadia considered that she may as well try to get to the top alongside Cyndaquil and help one another out in this feat. On top of that, Strawberry seemed rather adamant on wanting to follow. If she were a little bit older, she'd probably hop out of Nadia's arms and head on upstairs by herself. Well, best keep ahold of the pink Buneary for now. With a nod, Nadia got back onto her feet, grabbed her bag, and held Strawberry firmly in one arm. She then trekked up the stairs to follow the Cyndquil and reach the top of Sprout Tower.

There was no doubt in this little Cyndaquil's mind; it was going to the top of Sprout Tower to finish what had been started, long ago! Its enthusiam might've been contagious, if it hadn't begun to run so quickly forward up the stairs that it was likely the trainer, carrying a baby Pokemon, could not keep up with such scurrying. Though it had waved the girl forward and motioned that it was heading up stairs, it seemed rather uninterested in getting any more help.
"Quil," it grunted as it reached the top of the stairs, leaving the trainer and her friends in the dust. It rounded a corner and disappeared from sight....
Moments later, a bright flash of red and orange could be seen from the stairway, and Cyndaquil's desperate cry echoed across the walls. It was intense and clearly a wail of surprise and fear.
"Cynnn!! Cyndaquill!"
Another voice, one of a man, could be heard, tone like that of a calm demeanor but also of mistrust.
"You! Fire Pokemon! You are not permitted to reach the top... Go forth, Bellsprout."
And another flash of color filled the faces of the stairs as the man, obviously a trainer, released a Pokemon from its Pokeball.
Seems this Cyndaquil had gotten himself in another pinch...

"Oh boy..." Nadia said to herself as she ascended the stairs, careful about carrying the newborn baby Buneary. "Looks like Cyndaquil is a little too careless... got to keep an eye on this little guy, it looks like. Hope its okay..."
Nadia had trouble climbing up the stairs because of Strawberry in her arms, plus the stairs were almost more like ladders with the way they almost shot up vertically. Trying to climb these things with only one arm, or sometimes none at all when she had to balance out Strawberry, was a little rough going. Running over to the incline was no problem, but going up was a slower process. She was near the top when the Cyndaquil cried out and a man, probably one of the monks from what Nadia recalled from Earl's Pokemon Academy, spoke calmly but harshly to the Pokemon. What had Nadia curious most was if these guys all had Bellsprout, and this Cyndaquil was a fire type, why was it having trouble getting to the top? Two conclusions came to mind... the monks were strong enough to overcome the weakness of fire, or this Cyndaquil was rather reckless and in need of a proper trainer to guide it: The second one seems true so far.
"Hey, Cyndaquil!" Nadia said when she got to the second floor at last. "Are you okay, buddy? We heard you cry out!"
"Bun buneary! Bun-bun!" spoke the pink Strawberry, excited by the events going on right now.

The Cyndaquil, though it was positive it could take care of things on its own, looked relieved just to have somebody standing beside it as moral support. It blinked up at the trainer with confidence, and then stepped forward, prepared to pass by this crazy monk no matter what. There was a bit of charred wood by the monk's feet... Had this Cynaquil blasted a fire attack already?
The trainer, on the other hand, was frowning as he sized up Nadia and the Cyndaquil she was familiar with. He didn't look to happy to see that this Cyndaquil was running loose on her terms.
"You! I see this Pokemon is yours! Strange that you should let it run around the tower without proper guidance. I shall test how well you train your Pokemon!"
The monk stepped forward and plucked a Pokeball from his sleeve, not waiting for Nadia's reply.
Sage Neal has challenged you to a battle! [/u] Cyndaquil growled and took a step forward... Nadia could certainly battle wih Cyndaquil if she so preferred, it seemed more than ready to step in on its own... But how much convincing would it take for it to be commanded by her? Maybe it would be best to use her own Pokemon? Or, maybe...she needed to earn Cyndaquil's trust![/center][/blockquote]

"I thought a monk like yourself would know better than to jump to conclusions..." Nadia sighed to herself, shaking her head. This Cyndaquil... she barely met the creature five minutes ago. She doesn't know the story behind this guy, but it is obvious that he wants to get to the top. For what, she wondered? Left something up there? Someone it wanted to meet? Just likes the view? Hard to say since Pokemon do not always think like a human. But then again, humans all think differently, too. It looks like this monk thinks Cyndaquil belongs to her. When it comes to hot-heads, talking them down won't do any good. This guy has already sent out his Pokemon and it obvious that he is demanding a battle. Only way to talk sense to these individuals is to beat it into them.
"What say you, Cyndaquil?" Nadia said, looking down at the fire mouse Pokemon. "You want to go to the top? So do I! Let's work together to make it up there in one piece! If you want to battle, I will lend you my support. If you get hurt, I'll heal you up good! If you listen, I will help guide you to victory." Nadia held Strawberry in one arm as she put her hand to her hip, smiling. "After all, I'm a trainer. To conquer this tower is my goal that I won't back down on. I'll make it to the top on my own or with your aid. We'll start with one leap at a time... how about an Ember attack? Can you down Bellsprout with that?"
Strawberry kicked her legs while seated in Nadia's arms and put her paws to her mouth. Her next movement looked like she was blowing kisses or something of the sort, flailing her little arms around she she kept going "Pwwaaaa! Pwwwaaaa!" Maybe she was trying to use an Ember attack herself, mistaking Nadia's request to Cyndaquil as an order herself. Yup, she was a young Pokemon, alright.

The hardy young Cyndaquil, realizing that it might not be able to make its way to the top of the tower without any help nodded wordlessly and set his jaw in a grim manner as he pushed away vestiges of his pride for a moment to listen to the human female and her orders. After all, he knew that these humans sometimes could see what they as Pokemon could not. If having her with it was going to aid it in getting to that final level, then so be it! "Cynn!" The shrew-like creature acknowledged as its back flames flared up brilliantly and a hot, coal-like substance began to form up in the recesses its gut. These little balls of flame gradually rose up to its mouth where it held them there for a moment as it took aim at the Bellsprout across the hall who was under oath to the novice, somewhat impetuous monk who was looking down upon the motley crew in utmost confidence. The man wasn't going to know what the hell hit him. "Cynnndaaaaa---" The small creature rumbled as pieces of hot ember fell to the floor, burning small holes into the wooden panels. Through his slit-narrow eyes he locked on to the Bellsprout like a bomber jet taking aim before letting out his flaming fusillade. " QUILLLLLL!!!!!" --[BRUTALITY]-- The heatwave forced everyone within the vicinity to take several steps backwards as the monk, surprised at the small mouse's ferocity let out a sharp yelp of shock and dove for cover when the barrage of embers came whizzing their way. The Bellsprout however was not as lucky as its root-like legs made escape difficult and it was forced to take the shots head on. As the fiery wall of embers died down, the plant-like thing could be seen swaying back and forth dizzily with scorch marks all over as it at temped to steady itself from the Cyndaquil's savage attack. Its leaves were burn to a crisp on the edges and the brilliant green now a dark, dull mulch. The fear in the monk's eyes told them he wasn't expecting opposition of this caliber, but as he clutched the bunch of prayer beads in his hand he seemed to gain some strength from them and bent down to check on his Bellsprout for a moment before rising up to his full height once more. "I applaud your fighting spirit, little one," He murmured appreciatively before his gaze turned hard. "Still, do not expect us to roll over and die so easily! Bellsprout, use Vine Whip!" The Bellsprout nodded wordless ly as two large, think vines suddenly erupted from below its leaves and shot straight for the Cyndaquill; The lashed across its back harshly but the rodent grit its teeth and bore the pain stoically as it shrugged the attack off without too much consequence. A small, cocky smirk was developing upon its face as it tilted its head towards the Bellsprout as though asking 'Is that all you got, punk?' Its type advantage and higher level was turning this fight into something drastically one-sided! --[FIGHT!]-- | BELLSPROUT Lvl 8 Health; 65% Status; Normal

"Bun-bun! Buneaaryyyyyy~!" cried Strawberry, pulling a fluff of fur right over her head. All curled up and so tiny in Nadia's arms, she looked now to be just a big fuzzy, pink dirt bunny and less like an actual Buneary. The only thing you could see of her was one single flopped ear that was still sticking out. The battle had already become too heated for Strawberry to take, no pun intended.
"What a beautiful strike, Cyndaquil!" Nada applauded to the Johto starter Pokemon. "What'd I tell ya?! A direct strike! Listen close because this Bellsprout won't prove to be much of a problem since it is still pretty fresh with its training! Vine Whip should be its only real attack! Go on and try another Ember!"
Nadia's energy sure radiated off of her and she shined brightly while in battle. Maybe if this monk had TV, he might have seen her face on it after a certain event in Cherrygrove City. Well, in reality, Nadia was more thankful that her little disguise worked before being aired so not as many people recognize her. Just another every day trainer is all she wanted.
Her eyes came to attention at the prayer beads around the monk's neck as he murmured some sort of prayer for his Pokemon. She wasn't one to criticize on someone's religious belief, but Nada couldn't help but think for a moment that there was no need for a prayer right now. When faced with hurdles in life, Nada thought it was up to you only to prove yourself to try and jump it on your own. Save those prayers for when they're really needed. At least she wasn't some kind of Rocket Grunt trying to steal his Pokemon. ...not that they would come for this Bellsprout, anyway. It wouldn't meet their standards of a strong Pokemon... ouch. Better keep that thought to herself, Nada thought.
