Upon hearing the words 'Fresh' and 'Training' directed towards them, both the monk and his Bellsprout shared quizzical looks before the Bellsprout's gaze narrowed to angry slits and the monk, realizing that his critter might act out of order, held it back gently. "Children will be children." He said to the leaf-thing which rumbled disdainfully at the Cyndaquil who was readying itself for another Ember attack. "Just focus on your opponent and nothing else. You have defeated Pokemon far stronger than he! Type advantages are not sound reason for weakness!" The Bellsprout, taking its master's words to heart nodded firmly and leapt into the fray to face the Cyndaquil head-on. Once more, the rodent's mouth was brimming full of fiery embers as it tried to lock its sights onto the Bellsprout once more. The plant creature swayed back and forth as it tried to find the Cyndaquil'a blind spot and the creature, realizing what the plant-thing meant to do became more agitated as it held the Embers in its mouth until it could no longer stand the strain. "CYNNNDAAAA!!" The small mouse roared as it sprayed the Embers towards the Bellsprout once more, but this time the leaf creature was ready; It saw the fireballs coming its way and breathing in deeply through its half-burnt leaves, leapt aside and dodged the shots in a brilliant display of Shaolin-like acrobatics. "Cyn Cynda?!" The rodent gasped, shocked at the fact that its attack had actually missed! For a second it faltered, letting its defenses down and the moment the monk spotted this, he grinned wide and shot a knowing glance towards his Bellsprout as the two nodded in unison and the plant-beast dashed forward to take advantage of the opening the Cyndaquil had inadvertently given it. "The girl speaks the truth. Vine Whip is the only attack you know, but let us show her just how well you have mastered it!" "Belll...." The creature growled as it sent its vines shooting towards the Cyndaquil, who assuming that it meant to slap it in the face once more, curled up into a ball to protect itself. What the rodent wasn't expecting was for itself to be lifted a good five feet into the air by the little plant's sheer strength before getting lobbed like a piece of meat right through one of the paper screens behind Nada before denting the wooden wall and sending splinters flying in every direction nearby. " SPROUT!!!" "CYnnnn....daa.... quilll...?" The fire mouse sputtered dazedly as it stumbled out of the hole it had created in the paper screen and tried to focus on the three Bellsprout's it was seeing across the battlefield, trying to figure out which one of these lucid creations was its true opponent... | BELLSPROUT Lvl 8 Health; 65% Status; Normal

There it is. The famed Bellsprout inspired meditation technique of a similar "waft like a Beautifly, sting like a Beedrill" movement. Well, that's something to keep in mind. But one thing for certain, while Cyndaquil was thrown through screen wall and beyond a little bit, Nadia had begun to concentrate. Her arms full of Strawberry Buneary, she listened closely to what the monk has been saying. Well, he confirmed that Vine Whip was mainly his only move. That revealed his offensive handset, but not to worry about some surprise Poison Powder. And if things got too rough, Nadia had potions. But now was time for some cunning action.
Through the screen paper wall did Cyndaquil fly. With a rough thud, he hit the wall when Vine Whip not just whipped him, but gave him a sort of seismic toss. Cyndaquil was still alright, but in a daze. The way he just had his head bonked had probably left him seeing stars. Now that's not fun because it could result in a temporary detraction with hindered hitting ability. But that doesn't mean it is still impossible herd it up. Two can play a crafty game.
"Cyndaquil, are you alright?" Nadia asked.
Cyndaquil looks dizzy.
"Don't get discouraged, little buddy. Those two have history together, so it is bound to happen to the best of us. But here, I want you to do this now."
Nadia hurried up to Cyndaquil, held Strawberry in one arm (who was still curled up in a little fluff-ball), and started whispering to him. She didn't speak loud enough to let the monk or his Pokemon overhear the game plan.
"Run straight ahead to Bellsprout and spit Embers to the left and the right. Force Bellsprout to remain center with you and when you get up on it, turn around and hiss Ember out from your back."

(Stepping in for a post on request of Artmage, I'll do my best!) Cyndaquil nodded at the trainers advice and the little fire rodent dug it's feet into the ground and took a deep breath. Cyndaquil the pokemon said with renewed determination and sprang forward charging straight towards Bellsprout, whom swayed back and fourth. Sprout-Bell, Bellsprout the waving grass pokemon spoke waving its body. "Bellsprout, be cautious as you use vinewhip, they are prepared for this exchange" The sage spoke in a calm voice, conveying his reassurance to his pokemon through an unseen bond. They had lasted many battles together and through and trough regardless of the end they would stay strong. Cyndaquil's fatter tapped the ground as it barreled towards Bellsprout the fire on it's back exploding in intensity as it fired a shot to the left! Bellsprout swayed and took a step to the right as Cyndaquil unleashed another blast! firing a small yet intense ball of fire upon it's opponent, which Bellsprout dodged, though it was a close call! the fireball had missed by a mere centimeter as Bellsprout dodged left. Cyndaquil then dug it's front feet into the ground and swayed it's body around causing it to do sort of a powerslide! Bellsprout reached out with it's vine whip and lashed Cyndaquil across the back making the fire type cringe in pain and retalitate with a mighter blast from ember from it's back! Bellsprout was shocked to say the least, as the grass pokemon seeme dto have no idea Cyndaquil was capeable of such a feat! and the poor plant pokemon was struck with a powerful blast from Ember causing it to flybackwards hurled through the air and land with a painful thud onto the ground and for a moment it didn't move... Bellsprouts trainer's calm facade was shaken ever so slightly by this exchange. However in a calm voice... "Bellsprout, I believe in you, you are not beaten yet" and the strength from it's trainers words.. gave Bellsprout the strength to pull it's self back to it's feet and stand again, panting heavily but ready to fight... | BELLSPROUT Lvl 8 Health; 28% Status; Normal

A beautiful shot! No doubt that had to have hurt Bellsprout badly in comparison to what Bellsprout had just done to Cyndaquil! They missed the last time, but even with Cyndaquil being dizzy they pulled off a great strike by forcing Bellspout to be right in the line of sight with an oncoming attack! This also proved to be a useful ploy as well in the event that Bellsprout would try to toss the little fire mouse again. If it did, a painful burn would've waited just a vine's length away from the flames on Cyndaquil's back. All and all, it worked out pretty well.
"That is how it is done!" Nadia praised Cyndaquil highly. "You're a good listener! I bet with a little more training, you'd make champion material yet! But we're not finished! Quick, while Bellsprout is on the ropes, finish it with another Ember and watch out for those Vine Whips!"

Bellsprout's Vines tried to protect it as Cyndaquil, yet again, used an Ember attack. Small tongues of fire lapped at the vines before they swiftly retreated. Then, the fire reached Bellsprout itself!
The pokémon writhed in agony as its foliage was scorched to the point that it was unrecognizable! Eventually, the pain got too much and Bellsprout's thin, unstable body lightly fell to the ground. Its bell shaped head was the last to fall, it made a small thumping noise as it made contact with the hard, wooden ground.
Sage Neal recalled his Bellsprout and bowed slightly.
"You are truly worthy of battling my master. The master," he said before walking up to Nadia swiftly.
"Although the Master discourages what he sees as gambling, I feel your victory has earnt you this much," he said, withdrawing a wad of £336 and handing it to Nadia.
"Go on, take it," he added softly. Sage Neal has given you £336 as a reward for beating him!
Congratulations, Cyndaquil (41%) gained 2 levels! [/i]

Nadia received the prize money from the monk. Gambling? From what Nadia last recalled on this battle, she never wagered any bets on the fight. Unless if the monk bet money to amuse himself, this wasn't really gambling. Regardless, now Nadia had obtained a little extra spending money and just won over not only the battle, but perhaps some of Cyndaquil's trust. This is rather good for her. Now, while the moment was calm, it would be an ample opportunity to get Strawberry into a Pokeball for herself. She certainly was a cute little Buneary, but now she had fallen asleep contently in Nadia's arms while curled up like a little ball. Smiling slightly, Nadia got one of her empty Pokeballs from her bag and withdrew Strawberry into it. She then put the ball back and proceeded to pull out a Potion and got down next to Cyndaquil.
"You did very good back there, buddy!" She scratched the Cyndaquil's cheek and applied the Potion to the Pokemon to help restore of its health. "Now we just have one more floor to go where "The master" is awaiting us. Is this where you wanted to go?"
Cyndaquil, through the slight stinging sensation from the Potion, did nod and the flame on its back began to flare up intensely. It was just about to run off straight up the next set of stairs again before Nadia got ahold of it quickly. Cyndaquil looked back and Nadia only gave the "tsk tsk" with a wag of the finger. It was pretty obvious that she was tell it that just running ahead without a plan would only get him in trouble again. "Look before you leap" as the saying goes.
Standing back up on her feet and securing her bag, she looked down at Cyndaquil and nodded that she was ready to advance up the next set of stairs together. The ascend was much easier now since Nadia had both her arms open and free to use, so it took only a few moments before Nadia got to the next floor. Then before her, she saw what must've been the head monk, or the "Sage" as Earl from the academy had told her. Li.

LOL! Yes, Elder Li can read minds!
"Sage? I am no Sage," Elder Li said, rising up from the throne he was resting on, "I am an Elder! I am above all of these trainers. I am above you. I am at one with the spirits and the spirits talk to me, they chose me to be their voice in this tower. The Spirits just told me that that Cyndaquil should not be allowed anywhere near this tower!" The Sages standing around Elder Li stared menacingly at Nadia and/or the Cyndaquil. "If you do not remove that thing from the premises, I will make you move," Li threatened, walking steadily closer at a surprising speed when you factor in how old he seemed. "Bellsprout, Hoothoot! Give this child a lesson in respecting her elders!" A Bellsprout and a Hoothoot burst from Elder Li's Poké Balls adopting battle stances immediately. Cyndaquil quickly rushed in front of Nadia, he was definitely taking part in this battle! Elder Li has challenged you to a battle! Victory will get you £1000 and the TM70 (Flash)! He has sent out Bellsprout (Level 12) and Hoothoot (Level 10) for a double battle! Incase you hadn't read it in the Stickied thread and I didn't make it clear to you, your Cyndaquil (Who's now at full health) will be one of your pokémon in this double battle, you'll have to pick the other.

((Yeah, I've made sure I read the sticky several times over. I'm ready for a double battle... in my favor, no less!))
Nadia shook her head. "I was under the impression that you guys welcomed young trainers who wanted to do a little bit of training, yet it has been nothing but "leave, leave, leave" since arriving. But this is fine! We can go by your hardball lesson! I'm game!"
Quickly pulling out from her ball pocket of her bag, Nadia made a careful selection of which Pokemon would best fit this situation. Though she would honestly love to use Strawberry, it wouldn't do too well in this situation against the Elder's Pokemon... especially since she is probably fast asleep now. But there is still another cute little rodent that is on-par for this double battle challenge: Chuchu! Out from the Pokeball, the adorable Pichu pops out with her cheeks crackling with electricity.
"Pi-pichuuuu!" She cried.
"Cyndaquil, Chuchu will be your partner in this battle! Work together and we'll overcome this hurdle as a team!" Nadia assured. "Both of you target Bellsprout first! Chuchu, you use Thunder Wave and Cyndaquil, I want you to follow in with an Ember attack directly after Chuchu's attack!"

The 's' sounds in this post are quite OTT!
With a flash of electricity, Chuchu let loose a small set of sparks that shot towards the Sage's Bellsprout swiftly. "Sprout!" she said, swaying slightly breeze coming through the window. Suddenly, the Bellsprout froze in the stance it was in at the time. Taking this to its advantage, the Cyndaquil shot out a string of small embers at the Bellsprout that surrounded it and singed its skin. The Bellsprout was still frozen as it was burnt, it wanted to sway out of the way but it could not! The Paralysis was taken affect! Hoothoot went in for its attack. It shot upwards into the rafters before shooting back down in front of Chuchu. Once it was sturdily placed in front of Chuchu, its eyes began to develop a white swirl in them. The red and white swirling eyes caught Chuchu's gaze and Chuchu began to slowly sway as the Bellsprout had once done and fell backwards. Chuchu was asleep! "Spectacular!" Nadia applauded. She could tell just from that single glance that the combination of Thunder Wave and Ember really paid off in a big, big way! The poor Bellsprout... it looked like it could barely stand now. A tap looked like it could make it topple down with the condition it was in. The only down side was the fact that Chuchu was now fast asleep, curled up in a cute little ball on the floor. Well, that's an eye-for-an-eye for ya. Nadia contemplated on using a Full Heal to awaken Chuchu right up, but decided against it for the time being in the event that she woke up on her own. The battle will soon be reverted to a two-on-one anyway, so best ration what little supplies for now. She might need it more later if Cyndaquil falls under the spell of Hypnosis as well.
"Cyndaquil, you did an awesome job on Bellsprout!" Nadia complimented.
"Quil!" the little fire mouse replies.
"You can now do it! Bellsprout is almost down for the count! Use Ember on it! But be careful of Hoothoot's Hypnosis!"
With a spout of flames from his back, Cyndaquil shakes slightly and then jumps with a back flip in spot. He raised his head and opened wide, aiming another series of flames directly at his long-time rival. He was looking forward to this.

The RNG HATES you and your pokémon :(
VS.
Once again, Cyndaquil shot the Embers out of its mouth that danced towards the awaiting Bellsprout. It tried to beat the paralysis just in time to dodge out of the way of the fires but, although it was released for the paralysis, it was just in time to contort its flimsy body in pain as the fire took the rest of her sanity. The pain became too much and she fainted, falling backwards in a heap on the floor, her bell-shaped head creating a hollow thud when it smacked against the ground. Hoothoot attacked, once more without his master saying anything. It flew back up into the rafters before swooping down, landing on top of the Cyndaquil. The two made eye contact. Fatal mistake. Hoothoot's eyes began to develop white swirls in them again as Cyndaquil latched onto these. The two stood staring at one another for less than 10 seconds before Cyndaquil's body became limp. THe sleeping Cyndaquil lay beside the sleeping Pichu as the two dreamed merrily. Battle Li's Bellsprout | Level 12 | Health : --% Status : Fainted Hoothoot | Level 10 | Health : 100% Status : Normal

((I am sadly used to these low accuracy moves hitting me D: ))
Nada found herself slapping herself right now, for she did recall on telling Cyndaquil to be careful for another Hypnosis attack. Well, can't blame the little guy for making eye contact when the Hoothoot forced its face right into Cyndaquil's; REALLY hard not to look at that. Still, Bellsprout is now down for the count. Only now does Nadia wish that she brought a few extra Full Heals along for the trip since she only has one now.
She dug into her bag and brought out her only Full Heal. Only one of the slumbering Pokemon would be able to receive this treatment, but who? Thinking it through for a moment, Nada decided it would be Chuchu to get this awakening. She has a type advantage over the Hoothoot. Even so, Cyndaquil has got a good chunk of the fun today and already did get the use of a Potion earlier. So, time to let someone else have a crack at the fun.
"Here you are, Chuchu." Nadia said as she approached and got down on her knees, spraying the Full Heal on Chuchu. "Feeling any better?"
Chuchu opened her eyes slowly, and blinked a few times. Then she hopped up to her feet and let out a few static sparks as she made a little squeaky shriek- she fell asleep during the middle of the battle! She felt some-what embarrassed about doing so.
"Don't worry, it's fine!" the trainer reassured to her Pokemon. "We're still good to go! What I need for you to do is Thunder Wave Hoothoot now, but keep an extra eye out for its Hypnosis this time. It is a very sneaky bird!"

Seriously, your luck is unreal! :O VS.
The Thunder Wave attack hit Hoothoot's large, circular body and it fell backward paralyzed. Unlike Bellsprout, Hoothoot was able to fly upwards immediately and flew towards the Pichu that had attacked it. For the third time this battle, Hoothoot's eyes swirled red and white. It was using Hypnosis! Pichu became drowsy and fell backwards, snoring slightly. Hoothoot flew towards Nadia's face and stuck its tongue out, taunting Nadia because it had successfully managed to put both her pokémon to sleep for a second time. ((...what is there to say at this point now?))
Nadia face-palmed herself. You'd think at this point her Pokemon would cover their eyes or something. And the Hoothoot flying right in Nadia's face... man, she was THIS close to delivering a Mega Punch of her own.
"You said that children will be children, but I really hope you didn't teach your Pokemon to be that immature..." she sighed, shaking her head. "No disrespect intended, but I thought an elder like yourself would've had a bit more discipline over your Pokemon."
Seriously... what was with that raspberry. Well, the joke will soon be on it. The Hoothoot is paralyzed and eventually Chuchu and the wild Cyndaquil will wake up on their own. Then free to move around, they'll get the bird yet. Unless if either one of them ups right now, Nadia can only use that either one would use Thundershock or Ember. If they don't wake up soon, she'll throw her own punch if it doesn't wises up.

"Hoothoot, now that both her pokémon are incapacitated, Tackle attack," Elder Li commanded the solitary pokémon that still held itself upright. It immediately obeyed. With a flap of its small wings, Hoothoot was flown up into the air. It nosedived down, aiming for Chuchu who let out a short, high pitched snore before Hoothoot thumped into its chest hard. The shock of the Hoothoot's attack woke Chuchu up with a jolt. It jumped up then looked around groggily, looking for a command from its master.
