Cyndaquil watched as Saphira's Ember attacked blasted through the leaves of one of Neal's Bellsprouts, burning wide holes through them. A cry of anger burst from the Bellsprout that was swiftly followed by a Vine Whip attack. Bellsprout' leaves rolled up into points and then, suddenly shot out, Bellsprout's vines were growing longer! They snapped against Saphira's underbelly while the Bellsprout ensured they kept well away from the tail. Cyndaquil watched this display of brutality and snapped, jettisoning another Ember attack at the attacking Bellsprout. Saphira's cries of pain stopped as Bellsprout recoiled in horror as more and more of it received deep, painful burns. The scorched pokémon sat down, it needed to conserve energy, it could feel it draining from it fast. The other Bellsprout remained much more reserved as this all went on but when it saw its comrade, it flung Ito action, whipping the Cyndaquil until it turned to its ally and helped it onto its feet Battle Bellsprout | Level 8| Health : 9%Status : Normal Bellsprout | Level 8| Health : 100% Status : Normal Saphira | Level 10| Health : 73%Status : Normal

Tiny embers sparked off Saphira's tail as she fired her attack, the flame growing in size in proportion to her increasing excitement for being in battle. The holes punched into the wriggling plant's leaves looked extraordinarily painful, even to her, but the fun wasn't over yet.
In retaliation, the Bellsprout hurled its vines right back at Saphira, lashing her rather viciously across the stomach. The cries of pain she emitted cause Tanya to clench her hands into fists and grit her teeth. You scrawny little fungus... I'll pay you back in kind!
As the thought crossed her mind, the Cyndaquil seemed to read it. It, in turn, fired back a blistering Ember that seemed to critically weaken the daft little Grass type and forced it to its (hypothetical?) knees. Its partner reacted with another quick Vine Whip, but to the Cyndaquil this time. Saphira rubbed at the red weals on her stomach absently, head turning towards her ally. Getting hit with a Grass move wasn't too damaging, yet it still hurt.
Tanya looked over the little fire mouse worriedly, assessing its condition. It looked alright to keep on battling. Breathing out a silent sigh of relief, the girl pointed towards the crispy Bellsprout being helped to its feet. "I know you're itching for a little revenge, Sapphy..." she began, a smile hidden in her words.
The Charmander glanced over her shoulder, mouth turned up at the edge in a knowing smirk. She winked one sapphire eye at her trainer and turned back to the battle. Tanya felt the wild grin light up her face with a sort of savage amusement. "Scratch it up darling!" Tanya finished, flicking her wrist in some grand gesture towards the beaten up plant. "Charrr-manderr!" the fire lizard replied enthusiastically, surging forwards.
Talons clicking on the wooden floor, Saphira bore down on the close to fainting Bellsprout, her arm held out before her with claws shining sharp. She was going to make sure this impudent little twig be taught how a true Pokémon battled!
"And as for you ~," the trainer said cheerfully, spinning on the spot in a rather childish manner, to the Cyndaquil. Her green eyes seemed rather conspiratorial. "While Sapphy's busy with that, could ya rough up its naughty little buddy with another Ember? I'm sure that will take the sting out of the lashing it gave you earlier."
Tanya's roguish grin stayed on even as she took her gaze off of the battle to stare in the monk's direction.
Let's see you handle me and my hotshots, hmm old man?

Since Sprout Tower doesn't seem to be getting any love, let's help each other out, eh? I noticed a mistake I made in the previous post: I forgot that pokémon aren't automatically healed on Side Quests. All fixed now, though. :]____________________ VS. _______________ The weakened Bellsprout was suddenly gripped with a fierce terror. Saphira was coming towards it, a venomous look in its eyes! Bellsprout flinched as the short, sharp claws swung through the air, aimed straight at it. Then, the pain began. "Belllll!" it cried in agony as it looked down at the leaf it had been protecting its bell-like face with moments ago; its right leaf was in tatters! There was a large chunk floating to the ground! Chlorophyll slowly began to leak from the wound and it all became too much: the pain from the attack combined with the sickening image of its own bodily fluids sealing from a hole in its leaf overtook the Bellsprout as it collapsed. Bellsprout's one ally watched it falling and immediately became enraged. How dare this Charmander come into their home and attack its friend in this way! It wanted revenge. Turning to attack the Charmander, a flickering light caught its eye: the flames on Cyndaquil's back. Cyndaquil was preparing a fire attack! Embers shot from Cyndaquil's mouth and sped towards Bellsprout, who was frozen with terror. "Sprout!" it squealed before the red-hot flames came into contact with its botanic body. [[OOC: Brilliant phrasing there! xD]] Small holes dotted around Bellsprout's stem and leaves but a large, gaping would took residence at the opening of Bellsprout's mouth. It flailed in agony before making its decision; it could either attack the Charmander and get revenge for its friend or teach the Cyndaquil a lesson in pain; it chose the Cyndaquil. Bellsprout repeated its former Vine Whip but with renewed force driven by its pure bloodlust. Cyndaquil's body shook with the pain that was erupting along its body. ((Indeed... we Sprout Tower monk slayers hooligans should band together!))
Saphira seemed to ooze smugness as she tore up the flimsy leaf guarding the swaying stalk from her full on assault. But what chance did a little plant stand against a reptile with sharp, cruel claws that could wield the awe inspiring destructive force of fire? As the wee little plant found out, it stood no chance, and dropped like a stone after the energy it had spent out in battle had fallen to a level too weak to continue a valiant, albeit weak, fight.
Its friend turned to her Charmander, eyes glittering with what Tanya could only equate to a spiteful hatred. Even Saphira wanted to take a step back from that single look, but before she could do so, the plant had caught sight of Cyndaquil prepping its attack.
The teenager had finally, in hindsight, moved off to the side and away from the spurting flames that roared into life once the fire mouse was about to unleash havoc. There was a savage sort of pleasure in watching the little weed become crispy and black, and not just from her own Pokémon's attack. Whatever this poor Cyndaquil had done to earn such a bad reputation amongst the monks here was probably very unjust. The only conclusion she could draw was because it was a critter that wielded Fire.
And in a place made of wood, that worshiped highly flammable Bellsprout, flames were a big no-no. Her emerald eyes narrowed on the Sage before her, trying to pierce and accuse. What did this little fella do to you to earn such unwarranted prejudice? she thought silently, as though the bald man could read her thoughts.
When the nasty sound of a whip cracking against flesh echoed out in the spacious, empty room, it jerked Tanya from her thoughts. She stared at the Cyndaquil with worry quite clear in her vibrant eyes. So before she made any sign of ordering Saphira to return fire, literally, the girl dropped down to both knees gently and slipped her backpack from her shoulders.
"C'mon, c'mon," the girl muttered under her breath, reaching into the messy depths of her bag. At this point Saphira wondered what her trainer was doing and turned her head around. "Charrr... char! CHAR!!" the lizard rasped, waving her arms frantically. THIS IS NO TIME TO BE LOOKING IN THERE!
But her cries fell on deaf ears. Tanya grinned after a moment and pulled out what looked like a small spray bottle. She turned to the Cyndaquil and scooted over the wood floor to it. The back flames had subsided somewhat after it had doled out its attack.
She gave the bottle a little shake. "Right, since you look about ready to keel over, I'm gonna stop any revenge plans and heal you right up. Arceus knows what's up there waiting for us. So don't be mad, 'kay?" she explained to the Cyndaquil before turned the little fire mouse around. The lash wounds on its body seemed to only have bled a tiny bit, but enough for her to wipe the beads away with a quick swipe of her finger. After rubbing that away on the floor surreptitiously, Tanya raised the Potion and proceeded to spray the wounds as gently as she could.
Saphira made another noise after Tanya had wiped the excess medicine off and was placing the empty bottle back in her back to dispose of later. She zipped up her backpack, rose to her feet, and put it back into place before winking at her anxious Charmander. "It's all good, Sapphy. Now, let's finish this in a blaze of glory! Ember, one more time!" Tanya called out with her signature hand flick.
Her fiery lizard made a growl of agreement and danced closer to the still standing Bellsprout, angry at it's attack on her now hurt companion. And so it was with great gusto that Saphira spat out another round of stinging flames that aimed to burn and singe the little weed where it stood. ((nice phrasing indeed xD))

The Bellsprout was pleased with itself over how much damage it had done to the fire rodent, it hadn't fought with the Cyndaquil before, but it had heard of it, apparently a weakling since it couldn't beat Grass Pokemon on it's own, Bellsprout even began to taunt the Cyndaquil when Tanya had turned Cyndaquil around and started treating it's wounds with the Potion. This aggravated Cyndaquil, not that it minded being treated, it hated the feeling from pain, but the taunting from a GRASS Pokemon was an insult to Fire types. Cyndaquil was almost to the point where it would break away from the healing potion, wanting to bite into the small plant and tear it to shreds, not even wanting to use fire on this thing anymore, it wasn't worth the effort of using energy for fire attacks. But Tanya turned the small rodent back around, and it looked back at her and nodded as thanks for her help with it's wounds. But she told her Charmander to finish off the plant, and Cyndaquil decided to let them do that rather then attacking, for one thing it didn't care too much about fighting these Bellsprout, it was only here for one in particular. Plus, it was the least Cyndaquil could do at the moment for all the help Tanya and her Pokemon had given it so far, and of course Saphira didn't mind being told to burn the thing either, she could see burning plants as becoming a hobby of her's, it was fun. But then most Fire Pokemon likely shared her thoughts, once they had actually started burning them anyway. But she wasted no time in breathing another Ember attack at the Bellsprout. The Bellsprout, who was already wounded, and still taunting the Cyndaquil didn't even notice, and was hit by the attack head-on, burning it and being a Critical hit (RNG really gave those out. <_<), causing some very heavy damage fainting the plant several times over. Sage Neal returned his second Bellsprout and step aside while holding Tanya's prize money, "I have lost and shamed my brotherhood, you may proceed. I shall not attempt to stop you any longer." He says to Tanya, he wasn't surprised that he had lost to two Fire Pokemon, but he hadn't expected to go down that quickly. Even Tanya found the plant's mocking of the Cyndaquil to be a little over the top. It was enough the little mouse needed help to ascend the tower's height, and now that it was being assisted with the healing of its wounds, it was now liable to be taunted? To her surprise, she felt her own teeth grit together, and a strong urge to leap into the fray herself to smack the plant upside the face.
Yet that task had been left to Saphira, and she passed it with flying colors - or in her case, flames. The little weed was relentlessly subject to a rather savage burning as the Ember scored a strong hit and removed it from battle.
"Yes Sapphy! That's how ya do it!" the girl cheered, momentarily forgetting her displeasure towards the Bellsprout. Saphira turned around and scampered over, a wide grin stretching her face. She grasped at Tanya's shirt and shook it as she celebrated her victory with a little dance. Tanya chuckled and pulled the Charmander's ball from her pocket, returning her friend before they could continue on. Only one more battle remained; and only one more Pokemon she wished to train left.
But that would have to wait, since the monk had recalled his fallen Pokemon and was permitting her access to the final floor. The teenager looked a bit shaken at first, but offered him a watery smile as she walked over to him. The money was a bit of a shock, but she accepted it with grace. "I didn't want to cause trouble... but when this little guy got ganged up downstairs by those Bellsprout I had to help in any way I could." She had no need to defend herself, but she felt it right to explain anyways.
Pocketing the money, Tanya smiled again at the sage and brushed by, heading for the obvious set of stairs and climbed up. Hopefully the Cyndaquil was right along with her. As she walked up, she swung her bag around and reached inside to grab another Poke Ball, changing it out with Saphira's. The ball erupted instantly before she could touch it, sending out her Buneary in a wash of light.
"BUN!" Angelus cheered, hopping around in utter glee. Oh, she was so happy to be out of her ball! And then she stopped, pirouetting on the spot to see where exactly she was. Tanya bent down and scooped up the little rabbit and nuzzled her affectionately.
Angelus giggled and perched herself on Tanya's shoulder, watching the progress as the trio climbed the final few steps to the last floor of the tall tower. "Right Angelus, we're helping this Cyndaquil here with whatever it needs to do. So when the time comes, I may need you to battle," Tanya explained to the young Buneary, who nodded solemnly. The girl stopped, blinking in the sudden light that flooded through a few windows. Given the dim lighting below, this level of brightness hurt her eyes.
Judging by the butter yellow rays, it was either noon or slightly after it. She'd been in here for some time since coming in with Ignitus. Tanya pursed her lips and continued walking, waiting for someone to pop up and welcome her. Or to scream bloody murder for the Cyndaquil she was accompanying.

As the Cyndaquil got to the last few stairs, it knew, this was the floor. This was where it's long anticipated fight was going to happen, it's fight with the lead Bellsprout. It was stronger now, it knew that it could win and this time it had help from the girl anyway, there was no way it could lose this battle. Not after going through so much to get here, and so it once it got off the stairs, it started walking to wear it remembered the Elder was waiting. Of course he was still there, standing there ready for the battle that he knew would be coming. However, if anything the Elder seemed to smile at the Cyndaquil, "I see you have gotten much stronger then before. It is good that you have continued to grow, and you seem to have made some friends as well. That is also good, everyone should grow both physically and mentally in life and it always fills me with joy to see others grow like a young Bellsprout. So with that I welcome you once more to our tower. I do apologize for the behavior of the other Sages, they are still young and they tend to act hastily, before they think about the harm of their words." He says to the Cyndaquil, seeming to be acting genuine. Cyndaquil however, very clearly wanted a battle and of course the Elder saw this very quickly. "Ah, you would still like to battle I see, very well. But I should warn you, I shall not go easy. And because you have a friend with you, I shall send out my two Pokemon so we can have a dual battle." He says to Cyndaquil before looking at Tanya, "I hope you shall not mind young lady, and thank you for escorting the young Cyndaquil to this level, however I am afraid that I must ask you to battle once more with the Cyndaquil if you are willing." He says to her before releasing both his Hoothoot and his Bellsprout. Elder Li wants to battle!

She paused uncertainly as the Elder appeared, eyes narrowing. He was acting so friendly towards the fire mouse, a drastic change from the harsh attitudes of the previous monk encounters. Tanya shook her head, then rubbed at her eyes vigorously, to clarify if she was hallucinating all this or not. Clearly this Elder had a better idea of how to treat guests, whether they be of the Cyndaquil or human variety.
The Cyndaquil seemed pleased itself by this noticeably warmer reception, yet still retaining an air of wishing to battle. Tanya slid a glance its way, chewing her lip in a speculative manner. It must have a bone to pick with this Elder guy, otherwise it wouldn't have been so eager to get up here.
When the Elder addressed her, she seemed to jolt a bit, as if coming out of a reverie. She flashed a warm smile at him, glad he wasn't raging over the Cyndaquil's presence in the Tower. "I promised it I would help it out, so one more battle won't hurt," she said cheerfully, raising an arm to pat Angelus softly on the head. With a giggle, the rabbit jumped from her shoulder and landed neatly on the ground, sinking into a humble bow, before hopping over to stand by the Cyndaquil.
Angelus measured up her opponents, staring between the oddly colored Bellsprout and the rotund owl. The Hoothoot seemed like the more dangerous of the pair, so Tanya decided she would work on taking it out swiftly. If things got to be too much, she could always switch out her Buneary.
Now it seemed to get a little trickier. Angelus would gladly attack whomever she was ordered to, but the Cyndaquil was still wild. The way it seemed to stare at the Bellsprout could mean it wanted to attack it more. This caused a crease to appear between Tanya's brows as she frowned again. It was a good thing she liked to think things through instead of rushing into them. Otherwise she wouldn't be here, right? Right.
"Angelus, I want you to show me that Ice Beam of yours! Aim for that Hoothoot's face!" Tanya called, hand instinctively flicking out again. Uncertainty was still clear in her emerald eyes as she wheeled around to face her companion.
But she'd go out on a limb and risk telling it what to do anyways. It couldn't hurt too bad. "You don't have to do what I say, but if you can, I want you to use Ember on that Hoothoot as well." Her tone remained steady, though slightly less confident than usual. She could only pray that the Cyndaquil had taken a liking to her, or guessed at her intentions. She wasn't going to say out loud what she was about to do, or else the Elder would substitute a new strategy.
As her mind whirred, Angelus had hopped forwards a few steps, mouth opening up. She focused a small concentration of energy just outside her mouth, forming it into a small blue ball that chilled with the rate it was being generated. "BUNN-NEARY!" the rabbit cried, letting the beam of icy energy fly, arcing towards the Hoothoot's face as ordered.

Angelus was glad to finally be able to battle again, it seemed to her that it had been quite some time since her last battle, but she was still young, and very impatient, even compared to her own kind, well compared to some of them anyway, there were always those hyperactive buggers. But anyway, she had used her attack, the Ice Beam that her trainer had so cleverly taught her. With that she could surprise the enemy rather easily, they wouldn't be expecting her to use this attack. And based on the expression on the Hoothoot's face, that's exactly how it felt. It wasn't expecting that at all, so it had no way of avoiding the attack that was headed right for the owl's face. The Ice Beam hit the owl easily, and the bird screamed as half of it's face was basically turned to ice, it hurt like a pain that the Hoothoot hadn't felt in a very long time, and needless to say, it still didn't like the feeling. While the Ice Beam hadn't been a critical hit and nor did it freeze the Hoothoot, it still caused some heavy damage due to the weakness. So the owl was about to attack, though it could only see out of the one eye thanks to the other one being frozen over by the ice. And the Cyndaquil was faster, it really didn't want to wait for attacking the Bellsprout, but this girl had shown that she knew what she was doing before, perhaps she did here as well. So the Fire-type Pokemon sent an Ember attack headed right for the owl, and thanks partly due to the ice over it's eye the bird was unable to see that the Cyndaquil had launched an attack on it. So it was taken by surprise yet again when the embers began to hit it's body. Luckily for the bird this hadn't caused a burn or been a critical hit, but it was strong even without the weakness due to the level difference between the Hoothoot and Cyndaquil. However, it had caused the ice on the owl's face to melt, revealing it's eye once again, but of course the flesh on it's face was already very tender, even more so around the eyes. Which made it hard for the Hoothoot to see anything past five feet now, it could barely make out the two opponents, it saw shadows. But it knew that it must try to fight. Of course, thanks to his experience the Elder knew that his Hoothoot was likely going to faint soon. But he had to have the bird at least try, "Hoothoot, use your Peck on the rabbit, see if you can get some heavy damage in the first hit, and Bellsprout, use Growth, get ready to cause as much damage as you can." He said to them, the Bellsprout, being unwounded was of course the faster of the two, and it used the Growth attack to absorb nutrients, causing it to grow rather noticeably, as well as raising it's Special Attack stat. The Hoothoot also did as ordered and ran right at the blur that it thought was Angelus, hoping to hit the bunny with a Peck attack. However, the irritation around it's eyes was to much for the poor bird to see very well at this point and it missed the target for the most part, it had grazed Angelus' torso, but caused very little damage to the small rabbit. Angelus of course grabbed her side due to the pain, but it wasn't anything major. As the Hoothoot went back to it's trainer, who was congratulating both of his Pokemon for doing their best, the Cyndaquil and Angelus awaited further orders. The temperature in the air had dropped noticeably as Angelus had let loose her attack on the round ball with wings. Tanya grimaced slightly as it scored a direct hit on the owl's face, but she couldn't help but snort with mirth at the rather deformed appearance the ice lent to it.
The scream it let out sobered her right up, and she watched the rest of the action occur with a slightly crooked smile still twitching on her lips.
Though it was a bit of a shock, seeing Cyndaquil obediently let loose its Ember was a rewarding sight. With this level of assault, the fat little beast would be down before it caused too much trouble. Even with the Bellsprout using Growth to prep its attacks, hopefully all it wielded was the physical attack of Vine Whip.
Despite her laid back, easygoing nature, Tanya had done extensive research into Pokemon, and Pokemon battling in general. She could easily tell you what move involved direct contact, what didn't, and what moves were of another type entirely. And even with the level differences, she was sure Angelus would be able to hold her own.
Said Buneary turned around with a big grin, and curtsied to her trainer in a very lady-like manner. Tanya smiled at this, but gently inclined her head in the Elder's direction. "Don't forget this is a battle... one we must win," she kindly reminded the young rabbit. Angelus pouted a little, crossing her arms and staring petulantly at the teenage girl. Sorry darling, but you can't get your way all the time.
With a huff, the Buneary turned her attention back on her foes. "Okay Angelus, one more time with Ice Beam!" Tanya ordered with her signature flick. Judging by how unsuccessful the Hoothoot's Peck had been, it was getting steadily weaker. Cyndaquil had a variety of moves to use, but...
Now it was her turn to pout. Quick Attack would deal some lightning fast damage, but it lacked the same type attack boost that the stronger Ember had. She wasn't going to let the owl harm her dear Angelus too badly, and even with Ice Beam's type advantage... she was going to rely upon the Cyndaquil to mop up.
Then they could relentlessly barrage the yet unharmed Bellsprout before it totally turned the tables on them all. "Okay Cyndaquil, I want you to use Ember on Hoothoot again!" Tanya said once more. Her hands involuntarily closed into fists as she stared at the ever calm Elder. He certainly knew of her strategy now, but could he stop it? She smiled wistfully as the air chilled again, and Angelus had sent another beam of ice swirling through the air at her Hoothoot foe.

Hoothoot hadn't cottoned onto Tanya's plan yet but Elder Li had. Behind his ever-calm exterior, Li was fuming. What could he do to save himself? Before he could even properly ponder this, all was lost for him: Tanya's pokémon had begun their attacks. Angelus' Ice Beam hurtled towards Hoothoot before it had the opportunity to dodge it. A muffled cry came from its beak that had been frozen shut! Bellsprout saw this and immediately felt rage course through it. This was an outrage! Before Bellsprout could respond, however, Cyndaquil began its ember attack. The small pokémon jumped up from the ground and shot small tongues of fire at Hoothoot who was too distracted with the job of defrosting its beak. It looked up just in time to see the fire as it shot towards its massive, round face. The good news? Its beak was no longer frozen. The bad news? It keeled over and fainted. Angelus immediately began to feel stronger, maybe it was the pride at aiding in defeating an enemy but she felt much stronger; as if she had suddenly become more powerful Angelus gained 1 level from the defeat of Li's Hoothoot! This was the last straw for Bellsprout. It turned to the Buneary that had used the Ice Beam and ran towards it, its left leaf glowing white. Upon reaching Angelus, it slashed the leaf across the rabbit's chest. Bellsprout used Cut! The Bellsprout sneered at the Buneary then turned to see its master's disappointed face. "Please only attack when I command you to, you need self-discipline. When we beat this girl together, we shall work on this," he said calmly to the pokémon before shifting his attention to Tanya. Bellsprout followed suit: it wasn't going to be as easy to fell as Hoothoot! Battle

Tanya watched with baited breath as the combo of ice and fire managed to knock the plump bird right out of the battle. She sighed with relief, eyes closing momentarily to savour the sweet feeling of victory. Of course, the light patter of viney feet slapping the wooden floor caused her eyes to spring back open in time to watch the oddly colored weed slash at Angelus' chest viciously.
Her Buneary stumbled back with a pained cry, paws scrabbling at the red line now gently dislodging some of her luxuriously soft fur. Carmine eyes fixed furiously on the scolded Bellsprout, rage building like an inferno.
Tanya noticed the tense set of her rabbit's shoulders and bent down to intervene before something really bad happened. "Calm down. We've been over this before... it's not worth it." She tried to intone her voice with a soothing quality, and it seemed to work. Her Buneary sighed, and her shoulders slumped inwards in a sign of defeat.
She flashed a brief smile, patted Angelus on the head, and rose back up to a standing position. The girl tossed her tied chunks of hair over her shoulders, and impatiently brushed aside a few stray hairs off of her forehead from her bangs.
"Alright Angelus. Revenge is a dish best served cold, am I right?" Tanya said slyly, emerald eyes sparkling mischievously. Angelus giggled and nodded enthusiastically, bouncing on the spot in her eagerness to return fire. She punched her paws forwards, as if she were a boxer, and then pirouetted gracefully. She dipped her head towards the Bellsprout, shockingly enough, before she rose back up and let it see the impish smirk dancing on her face.
Without prompting, the little Buneary collected the familiar blue sphere of energy, dropping the temperature in the room once more, and let it fly, watching as it broke off into three separate lines while still racing for her target of the Bellsprout.
Now the teenager turned to the Cyndaquil, still smiling with that hint of mischief. "I know you're very eager to get your battle in with that Bellsprout..." she began, letting her voice trail off so that she could bend down on one knee and whisper to it.
"You'll be using Ember again, but I need you to get in close while it's still a little stunned from her attack. Surprise is the key here, you get me?" Tanya whispered hurriedly. She nodded quickly and backed up and away to watch the action unfold.
Now it was just waiting to reap the rewards or consequences.

Looks like you'll be leaving Sprout Tower first. LUCKY! Also, welcome to the pink name clan! ^^ VS.
Bellsprout saw the Ice Beam coming and made an effort to jump out of the way. Unfortunately, Elder Li had never taught his pokémon how to run away so Bellsprout had no practice in it. Falling flat on its bulbous head, Bellsprout flailed, knowing its time was almost up. The first line of ice hit Bellsprout's left leaf; the weight of the ice made Bellsprout fall onto its side. The second line hit Bellsprout's right leaf; Bellsprout was rooted firmly to the ground by the great chunks of ice that had attached themselves to its leaves. The third and largest line hit Bellsprout's head and froze across its mouth. Bellsprout was completely helpless now! Elder Li was frozen in shock, watching his poor pokémon struggle to even move. Then, Cyndaquil's attack came. "Sprout!" The Ember attack melted the ice across Bellsprout's face and Bellsprout just about managed to cry out before slumping to the ground, making no effort to get up. Elder Li stood in stunned silence. Angelus was feeling that powerful sensation it felt before but this time it was slightly more intense! As if it had grown even stronger! Angelus has grown by 1 Level to Level 10! "Very well, you have won," Li said with a slight scowl. "I guess that I owe you something, right? I normally discourage gambling but you won so spectacularly I don't see why you shouldn't be commended. Well, let's see what we have here..." He went off to a small, golden box that sat on the floor behind him. Extracting some money from it, he handed it to Tanya. "One thousand pounds, feel lucky!" he added with a jubilant smile across his face. "Oh, take this too," Li said as he reached into his robes and drew out what appeared to be a small, grey CD. "It's TM70, that's Flash, you should find it useful." He gave a dismissive movement with his arm and retreated behind a large pillar and didn't reappear. Tanya could feel a small tugging sensation on her leg, it was Cyndaquil! It kept tugging at her and seemed to be trying to imply that it wanted to stay with her. "Cynda!" it said happily before hugging her leg. Up for taking Cyndaquil on a journey with you? Get the Cyndaquil next reply. I'll PM an admin asking for one of them to at least RNG it for you, may as well give you the 1/16 chance.

Her keen ability to strategize on the fly had worked - before it could wreak havoc on her two Pokemon. The ice had pinned down the wriggling golden weed and left it wide open for the final sweep - the flurry of writhing flames tearing into the Grass type's body and melting the ice.
It even managed a weak cry before succumbing to the horrible onslaught. The Elder seemed so acutely astonished he could barely move, staring at his fallen partner.
Angelus let out a cheer, bouncing excitedly again. She was too happy to remember to keep up her ladylike mannerisms. With a gleeful giggle she bounced herself up into Tanya's arms. The Buneary snuggled happily into her trainer's embrace, radiating happiness, and goddess knows, a bit of smugness. With a chuckle Tanya conceded, ruffling the rabbit's fur affectionately again before turning her attention to Elder Li.
He conceded defeat with honour, something she doubted a lot of people would. Tanya gave him a very sunny, warm smile and shifted Angelus to her shoulder again so she could walk over. Her boots made dull thuds against the hardwood floor as she approached the Elder.
Gambling... oh great, was she going to be an addict? But perhaps it was just the reward for ascending the tower and beating the monks below, and who was she to refuse? She could restock on supplies in the city with such money. Graciously she accepted the money, murmuring her thanks before reaching into her jeans pocket to retrieve her simple, black leather wallet complete with swinging Ho-Oh charm. Quickly she put the money away and zipped it back, returning it to her pocket.
Now he was reaching for something else, and this piqued her curiosity. Tanya's eyes brightened as she caught sight of the silver disc, the fabled TM that many trainers visited the Tower just to get. "Thank you..." Tanya whispered, bowing her head respectfully towards his retreating figure.
Still clutching the TM, the girl watched the shadows where the Elder had vanished for a moment before she realized the Cyndaquil was tugging her pant leg. She glanced down, distracted, and then realization dawned on her.
"You actually want to stay with me? With this odd lot of characters?" the teenager asked incredulously, though after a moment she did laugh. Tanya knelt down to its level, balancing Angelus carefully so she wouldn't fall and scratched the fire mouse under the chin. "Well, if you want to join us, then you're certainly more than welcome to!"
Even Angelus seemed to agree. "Bun, buneary!" the rabbit chimed in, waving her paws in a friendly way. Tanya inhaled slowly, savouring her fresh victory. Today...
Today was a good day.
((heehee, thanks scott ~ thanks for the replies, the congrats on leaving ST, and becoming a g-mod xD <33 and ultra too, of course!))
