Honestly, I don't know what kind of Trainer I want to be. ..I just wanted to escape. And that's what I'm doing, really -- escaping everything in my past and moving on to something hopefully better. That's why I'm doing this. Not to be the "Greatest Pokemon Trainer ever!" or "Top Coordinator" or anything like that. I just want a clean start.
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]And after the storm,
I run and run as the rains come
And I look up, I look up,
on my knees and out of luck,
I look up.
I run and run as the rains come
And I look up, I look up,
on my knees and out of luck,
I look up.
There once was a young girl by the name of Valeria Nyx. Born and raised in the small community of Mahogany Town, Valeria grew up knowing all of her elderly neighbors including the Gym Leader Price. Valeria -- with her high cheekbones, rosy cheeks, plump lips, and vibrant fiery hair -- was a sight to be seen in the rural location of Mahogany. Many a traveling trainer stopped dead in his tracks as he entered the town and stared at the girl, usually outside the first shop in town sweeping or dusting. All the lonesome males wanted something to do with the girl, but never had the courage to actually make a move.
Until the one came along.
On the day that Valeria Nyx turned seventeen years of age, another teenage traveling male trainer made his way into the town of Mahogany. The minute he stepped onto Mahogany property he noticed the girl -- this time, though, she wasn't sweeping outside. She was walking down the road to her family mailbox to check and see if she had received any gifts in the post. Before she managed to get to her destination, however, her bright blue eyes noticed the trainer to her right staring at her. Normal reactions would have included screaming or running away, but not for Valeria. This time, Valeria wanted it too.
Six months later, Valeria's father passed away on Halloween Evening.
Nearly eight months later Accalia Pheie Nyx was brought into the world, writhing and screaming and covered in blood. The man had long since left Valeria's life, completely unaware that there was a pregnancy involved in the two nights they had spent together. By that time in her life, Valeria didn't even remember the boy's name. For the next eight years, Accalia Nyx would have no father figure in her life.
Night has always pushed up day
You must know life to see decay
But I won't rot, I won't rot
Not this mind and not this heart,
I won't rot.
During the first eight years of Accalia's life, she was primarily raised by her elderly and weary grandmother Estellis. Estellis, though a capable caretaker, had grown tired since her husband's death. Having to take up several of the tasks and responsibilities he had previously fulfilled, Estellis had a full day of work on her hands. Sadly, her daughter Valeria had sank into a depression that she hadn't removed herself from for over eight years. The woman simply moped around in her bed all day long, leaving Accalia to her grandmother's tending.
When Accalia was nine years old, Estellis moved on from this world and into a supposedly better place. Valeria didn't even attend the funeral for her own mother -- the funeral that Accalia had to plan and organize by herself in order for it to ever occur. At the age of eleven, Accalia was tired of her mother's shit. Packing up the little possessions she then owned, the redhead fled her lifelong home -- though it never had felt homey to her, really -- and into the deep cavernous area known as the Ice Path. There she stayed for a good four years; somehow, she never caught pneumonia or even the common cold. Accalia just explored the caves, never bothered or harmed by a Pokemon or followed by a trainer. Accalia never would have left the cave, either, if it hadn't've been for that boy.
Two weeks after the girl had turned sixteen, a brunette boy was traveling through the cave on his way to his final Gym Badge. This boy, however, was different than most of the others who had passed through in her five years in the caves: this boy payed attention to detail. Typically, when a person entered the location she was currently situated in, Accalia would hide behind a ice wall and remain out of human vision for a nice while. Having grown to like her, the several species of Pokemon located in the zone flocked to her and stayed out of sight of trainers. No matter what, whichever room she happened to be in seemed seemingly uninhabited to the passers-by.
The boy, however, saw through the trap. Immediately noticing the scarcity of rambunctious-sounding critters sliding around on the ice, he began investigating for the source of the lack of life. As he searched behind the rock, several of the Pokemon jumped out from their hiding and leaped onto the boy, tackling him into the icy ground. Accalia, noting that he meant no harm, called the Ice-types off of him and stuck out her hand to help him up. Sparking the beginning of a beautiful relationship that lasted almost a year, the boy took her hand and jerked her onto the ice with him. At first she was shocked, but soon laughter filled the chamber and the two humans were rolling around and sliding in the ice.
Accalia exited the Ice Path with the boy, not even glancing back at her longtime friends to say goodbye. Naturally, they all hate her very much now -- except for one little Swinub that attemptedd to follow her. Sadly, its Mamoswine mother had scooped it up and brought it back before it could reach Accalia. Although typically shy and usually thinks things through, there are some things that Accalia doesn't give a thought about and acts upon impulse. One day she'll hopefully learn better, but until then, this is one of her defining character traits.
The girl and the boy went to Blackthorn City where the boy challenged the last Gym Leader and defeated her. He was then sent to the Dragon's Den and brought Accalia along. While there, the two encountered a Larvitar that the boy attempted to catch. The small rock Pokemon launched a Hyper Beam at the boy's starter, but the Pokemon dodged the attack. Unfortunately, the attack kept going and striked the boy, instantly incinerating him. In the wake of the attack, a broken, burnt body lay crumpled up on the ground of the cave. Accalia stood in shock, cemented to the ground. The Larvitar simply launched another Hyper Beam at the Starter of the dead boy and knocked it out before trotting off.
After that moment, Accalia was broken. She couldn't return to her Ice Path home, and she didn't want to stay in Blackthorn. She stumbled around until she got out of the cave and fell to the ground, staying there for almost a whole day. Tears couldn't even flow from the redhead's eyes. Luckily, Clair came along looking for the boy and instead found her. Accalia explained to the Dragon Trainer what had happened, and the blue-haired girl took pity on her and gave her the couch in her home. Accalia stayed there for nine months, almost never going outside at all. Then, one day, she decided it was time to move on. She wrote a note thanking Clair for all she had done and left it on the couch.
She wondered for a good month south until she reached New Bark Town, where she met a very nice new trainer whose name she never caught. What she did remember was the trainer telling her that Accalia should become a Pokemon Trainer. The way the young girl sounded made Accalia eager for something new, and she decided it would be a good way to have a clean start. Thanking the girl, Accalia went to the Professor's Lab immediately after and received her first Pokemon.
Now, after sixteen years of life, Accalia Pheie Nyx has the hair her mother had the very day Accalia was produced inside of Valeria's body. Its a thing of sheer beauty, too -- with fiery red locks of hair falling in a slightly tangled yet graceful manner down the sides of her pale face. Rosy cheeks adorn the sides of her features, with pinky lips to match. Her hazel eyes contrast slightly with the bright head on Accalia's neck, and seem fairly misplaced since her mother owned vibrant oceanic eyes. Then comes her chin, a blocky unit that causes the rest of the face unease. Not seeming to match the other subjects in which it it resides near, the chin of the redhead is her real downfall in outward appearance. Other than that, the girl seems to be quite the looker -- if only she cared about outward appearance.
Today, the girl is still as shy as ever, and rarely talks to any passers-by. When she does interact with other humans, however, she is quite amiable and friendly, genuinely being a kind-hearted redheaded female. Although having experienced a great deal of trauma in the duration of her short life, Accalia Pheie Nyx has no serious quirks or mental issues. Her only real problems are either being too trusting initially and then doubting her own self later or acting on impulse. The latter typically only happens when involved with a male teenager, as seen with her leaving the Ice Path with the boy. Usually, however, she does think situations through and tends to make decent decisions.[Basics:
