The morning has been productive and training continued through some of the afternoon. After a few new members were added, along with an evolution by Leonardo becoming a strong Wartortle, Nadia felt it was finally time to take on the first Pokemon gym on her journey across the Johto region. This was a monumental moment for any new trainer, the first gym badge. It had Nadia's heart racing.
"Well, well, well! Seems like some baby trainers have come from the school to see THE Lt. Surge at work! Just sit on back and watch how a gym leader really fights!"
The mountain of a man who went by the name of Lt. Surge, the local American gym leader from back home in Vermilion City, was both strong yet compassionate of Pokemon despite all odds. He may have often down-talked to young trainers and their Pokemon, always releasing everything he had in every single battle, but he knew a talented trainer when he saw one. It wasn't every day that a trainer would defeat him in battle against his best Raichu. Being from Vermilion City, Nadia often had the chance to visit the gym on field study sessions at school. She never battled the man himself, but recalls when her older brother made the approach to the gym and earned that Thunder Badge. It was his first badge since it was the local gym and he has since then been out in the world, gathering more badges through the regions.
The Violet City gym. This just brought those memories back and made Nadia think of her older brother for a moment. He was here years ago as well to get his own Zephyr Badge... she feels like she is walking in Ben's tracks. She hasn't spoken to him since she left home and now wonders how he is doing. Shaking her head and adjusting the bag that had rest on her shoulders, there wasn't any time for this kind of thought. She had to look ahead and stay focused. If Falkner was anything like how Lt. Surge was back home, that means she'd be in for one hell of a fight...
Breath in.
And exhale.
Time to enter.
Pushing her way through the front doors of the gym, it was to her surprise that the gym was completely empty of much of anything. There was no furniture, no trainers, no Pokemon... not even an arena, leader, or paths to any other rooms! This place was just some big, empty dome! What's the deal here?
"H-hello? This is the Violet City Gym, right? Is anybody in here? You're not closed or something, are you?" Nadia said uneasily. Why would the gym just be this barren with nobody to administer it unless if they were moving or renovating?
Stepping forward, trying to see if there wasn't anything she may have overlooked, Nadia eventually found a very strange object lying within the floor. It was the only thing in here, as a matter of fact. Made of simple wood, the platform was embedded in the ground... stepping onto it and giving it a quick stomp, the platform reacted very suddenly as it went skyrocketing high, high up towards the ceiling! Then as quickly as it started, it stopped. The quick jolt upwards caused Nadia to fall onto her rear. She wasn't expecting anything of the sort to happen!
Glancing forward, she noticed now why the gym was empty before... of course, it was themed. It was a gym meant for flying type Pokemon. Why have your gym quarters down on the ground when you could just as easily train in the skies? Clever. Very clever. Leave a sign out front or something next time so people don't have a heart attack from the unexpected assent.
Back to her feet and a dissatisfied sigh as she rubbed her lower back, Nadia stepped off the platform and onto the suspended sky arena before them. The windows above were painted red with the setting sun, casting calm shadows inside from the tree branches that danced right outside. Before the girl, there stood a man in a sort of blue robe get-up, standing with his back facing her, looking out the window and an everyday bird, maybe a robin, sitting on his shoulder.
"Are you Falkner, the gym leader? I am Nadia of Vermilion City." She shifted the bag on her shoulder again. "I've come to take on the Indigo Pokemon League and demand a match with you for an official League Badge!"

Falkner knew his Pokemon were bored, they hadn't had a challenge for the last couple days, and he couldn't exactly get much time off to take them out so that they could go flying. Plus the last trainer had been an easy win, the guy was supposedly a "graduate" of Earl's Pokémon "Academy", but he had only used Ground Pokemon and attacks, what exactly was that man teaching children? Didn't seem like it was anything to do with Pokemon battles, but then again he couldn't base them all off of this one kid. Plus the kid was pretty young, but he had some Pokemon that were not from around here, so maybe he had just been unable to capture any others. Still, Falkner couldn't help but feel bad about it, hadn't been his fault that the kid had come to fight him while being unprepared, but the expression on his face when he had finally lost was pretty bad, he looked like he was about to jump off the side of the floor rather then taking the elevator back down. But luckily Falkner had been able to get someone to bring the kid down and out of the Gym, he didn't want to need to deal with some kid going over the side in his Gym, it would get his Gym into the public eye, but not in a way that Falkner would have wanted. But he hadn't heard about anything so maybe the kid was alright now, but either way it wasn't his problem anymore. He was just a Gym Leader, it shouldn't have been his problem anyway, though he was wondering how the kid had gotten away from his parents in the first place if he seemed to be that unstable. Either way, that had been the last thing to happen over the last few days, so he was more then a little surprised when he heard the door's open down on the ground floor. He looked down and saw a person get on the elevator, a girl, was she a trainer? He hadn't been able to see any Pokeballs, but he went back to his "spot" to wait for her to get up there. Once she had, he was able to see that she did in fact have Pokeballs, she had then come over to his area and asked if he was Falkner, she had even told him that she was from Vermilion City, over in Kanto, an Electric-type Gym. "Yes I am Falkner, the Gym Leader here. But you say you are from Vermilion City? I have heard of it, the Gym there is full of fools that think the Electric-type can be used to clip a bird's wings. I shall not allow anyone to insult the magnificent bird Pokémon that my father left for me! I shall accept your challenge, but know this, I shall not allow any insults to Bird Pokemon in my Gym." Falkner says to her, growing angry at the thought of those fools in Vermilion, before grabbing a Pokeball and releasing his Pidgey to do battle with the Pokemon she would send out. Gym Leader Falkner accepts your challenge!

Every gym leader had their own style, Nadia knew for sure. According to Earl from the academy, when Nadia stayed there a week for some studies, Falkner was still pretty new to the gym leader business by being heir for in place of his father. He got particularly peeved over electric Pokemon hurting his birds, but that is of course one of the flying type's weaknesses. Now, she even had her little Chuchu who was an electric type and could probably do over the Pidgey pretty quickly. But where's the fun in that? Plus, she wanted to save her trump card for when she would need it... other Pokemon on her team haven't got much use lately, so it was time to act.
"Glad you accept my challenge!" Nadia said, taking out a Pokeball with a feather sticker on its cover. Pressing the button in the center, it enlarged in her hand. "And don't worry. Just because I am from Vermilion, that doesn't mean I use ONLY electric Pokemon! Cheeky will be proof enough for you!"
Grasping the Pokeball in both her hands, nodding down at the capsule, she then hurled it out into the gym field where it bounced a few times, came to a gentle rolling stop, then exploded open and released from its confines a young blue bird Pokemon. Cheeky the Taillow was picked first for the gym fight out of a small sign of respect to have a bird against bird battle. The young Pokemon fluttered around the wide open space of the gym even higher above before taking its place infront of Nadia and directly across from Falkner and his Pidgey.
"Cheeky, game on! Prepare the fight with a Focus Energy!" She shouted out. Her heart began to race at the thought that she was finally on the first step of the Pokemon League. This kind of thrill and exhilaration wasn't something she experienced too often! All the other kids that started before her... she'd better work quickly to make up for all those years lost because of school!
The battle begins!

Falkner was surprised when she'd sent out a Flying Pokemon as well, "You have guts to use a Flying-type Pokemon against me. I sure hope you know how to use it, people that needlessly send Flying Pokemon out to get fainted sicken me." Falkner says to Nadia before hearing her tell her Taillow to use it's Focus Energy, Falkner then looks back over at his Pidgey, "Hit it with a Sand Attack. That Focus Energy will help it do more damage, so let's blind the thing to make that bonus useless." Falkner says to the small bird. Pidgey was glad to try and prevent any damage that it may take in the battle, so it was happy to oblige, although the Taillow was faster and had been able to attack first. Cheeky was glad to finally be battling, it had seemed like it had been forever since the Taillow had last battled, and it was glad to be flying again, even if it was inside a building, but the building was clearly made for birds so there was more then enough room to fly around and stretch his wings. Which he did for a bit, before deciding to follow his orders and landed so that he could focus on the task at hand. And focus he did! He focused his energies into his attack power, while not outright increasing his damage, but it did increase the chances of getting Critical Hits which was fine with him. But he didn't have long to enjoy that, since the Pidgey soon kicked up a huge amount of sand, from where Cheeky had no idea where the sand even came from, but it got into his eyes and made it very hard and irritating to see, but he'd do his best to land his possibly more powerful attacks. BattlePidgey | Level 10| Health : 100%Status : Normal Attack : A successful Sand Attack. Cheeky | Level 11| Health : 100%Status : Normal; Accuracy -1; Critical Hit ratio x 2 Attack : A successful Focus Energy.

"Cheeky, are you fine?" Nada asked her little Taillow. Cheeky seemed to be mildly irritated of the fact that a bunch of sand was just kicked up in his eyes. Dang, it actually kinda hurt! After rubbing his eyes with a wing for a few moments, he looked back with watery eyes. He got a lot of the sand out, but the irritation would last for the remainder of the battle. Aside from that, he still looked ready to go, despite the some-what sad yet cute watery eyes. He chirped with confidence.
"Excellent! Cheeky, be on your toes and after that Pidgey with a Quick Attack!" After issuing the order and pointing right at Falkner's Pidgey, she then crossed her arms, lowered her head, but kept her eyes focused on the battle on hand. Her heart was still racing with excitement and the anticipation of being able to fight a gym leader for the first time. But she didn't want to lose her cool and she blocked out the snide remarks Falkner have lashed out. She remembered well of the acid tongue Lt. Surge back home had and his lashings were worse than this guy's. But to lose track of herself would lead to poor choices... she couldn't show any signs of intimidation. Though she honestly was, as who wouldn't be for their first gym match? But she couldn't show it, no matter how shaky her silent breathing might be.
Aim true, Cheeky.

VS.
Cheeky shot towards the Pidgey so quickly that the Pidgey didn't even see it coming! Due to Pidgey's Sand Attack, Cheeky had trouble seeing it through the haze of sand and tears that had accumulated in his eyes but due to the Focus Energy it had just used, it still sensed where the Pidgey's weak spots were so it swerved violently, aiming to get to them. Pidgey barely managed to blink before Tailow smashed into its right wing. Ouch! "Pidgeyoooo!" it cried out in agony as it nursed its wing. "Pidgey! Make sure that doesn't happen again, Gust it!" Faulkner commanded his bird pokémon. It turned and gave him a sharp look. How did he expect it to do that with its wing like this? Warily, it lifted the wing up. The wing responded and with little discomfort. Pidgey decided to obey its master. It flew up into the air, its wing behaving itself, and flapped its wings at a remarkable speed, akin to the speed of Cheeky's Quick Attack. The flapping wings shot air in a cyclone shape towards Cheeky. Cheeky was buffeted on all sides by the force of the powerful winds. They hurt the Tailow as its wings began to be pushed into its sides and causing great discomfort. Soon, though, Pidgey became tired by all the flapping so it shot down towards its master and saton one of his shoulders. Faulkner brushed Pidgey away looked at Nadia with a face of pure arrogance, he had got a powerful attack on her pokémon and it was also at a disability due to the Sand Attack! "Now! You can finish the job off easily, Charmeleon! Finish off Raichu with a full blast of Flamethrower!"
No matter how hard Nadia tried, she could not get that awe-inspiring gym battle out of her head. It was the most intense battle that she has ever seen before in her life! Sure, she's seen, studied, and reviewed countless battles involving the Pokemon League tournaments at school, but nothing was as heart pounding as match in real life. Ben was a much more impressive trainer than she was, his first gym battle with a powerful Charmeleon that had pushed him up quickly in his rank of friends as the best. It was actually a dare from his friends that he fight Lt. Surge for a Thunder Badge. None of them though Ben would actually do it and seemingly come out victorious after such a heated battle. After the match, the gym floors were torn and cracked, spots of flame had to be doused before they took the gym with it. Ben was always a "no fear" kind of guy, he didn't even sweat from the heat that kept the family, friends, and Nadia herself on the edge of her seat. The battle came with a tool and Ben's Charmeleon could barely stand after the victory had been claimed. After a few days recovery in the Pokemon Center, that is when Ben announced to the rest of his family that he was going to leave Vermilion City on a quest to collect all the gym badges he possibly could and become a League Champion...
Reality check!
Snapping out of her vivid daydream, Nadia gazed ahead and noticed Cheeky with ruffled feathers. He looked to be incredibly uncomfortable since the previous Gust attack must've done something like pop a bone out of the wrong socket and adding in the irritation from his already watery eyes. Ahead further was Falkner and his Pidgey. He shrugged off the bird when it looked for a little praise, staring at her with a smug grin. Oh, Nadia could smell that kind of attitude from a mile away... he was getting cocky. Thinking back to Earl's Academy, she does remember some students there talking about how Falkner was relatively new to the gym leader business, taking over for his father due to questionable resources. Regardless, since he took over, he's had next to no losses and must be feeling full of himself. This man before Nadia wasn't the man that faced defeat by Ben's team years back... Ben was just another face of so many trainers who proved their worth against the previous leader, Falkner's father.
"Trrrroooooowl..." grunted Cheeky, rubbing his wing against his eyes.
"Now isn't the time to sit on by, Cheeky! Push for it!" Nadia snapped out maybe a little too harshly. "I'll be counting on you for this, Cheeky! If they want it, let's give it to them! Get close and beat down with Peck!"

Falkner was surprised that she had decided to use a Flying-type as well, not that it mattered, there was no way she could be as good with the Flying-type as he was and his dad's birds were the best, no other Trainer's birds could compare to them. But here they were, and while the two seemed fairly closely matched, if anything his Pidgey seemed to be the worse off of the two birds. But he knew that they could still win, it was just a Taillow after all. "Alright Pidgey, use another Gust so we can win this one, we need to make Dad proud." Falkner said to his Pidgey. The Pidgey was a little nervous so far, Falkner was his Trainer and he wasn't about to disobey him, but the young Gym Leader was still living in his father's shadow, Pidgey knew that the boy had to learn how to properly use his own battle style, but now wasn't the time to try telling him that. But Cheeky was a little faster of the two, and had started heading toward the Pidgey when it had gotten distracted by it's thoughts. He'd crashed into the Pidgey, leaving a nasty gash on it's torso, it had been a Critical Hit due to the Pidgey not noticing that it was being attacked. Pidgey had managed to recover, although slowly, and fly back into the air to use the Gust, it flapped it's wings very heavily to get the Gust heading toward the Taillow, who was still flying, though it pained him, so when the attack hit him, his air-space had been messed up which caused him to fall from the air and crash to the ground, adding to the damage from the attack slightly. But when he'd gotten up he was still better off then the Pidgey, but he'd managed to get through that one pretty well considering. Falkner had also noticed that Pidgey had been having trouble flying and using Gust. "Alright Pidgey, I can see you're in pain so I won't have you fly anymore. Think you can keep fighting?" he asked it, at this the young bird had chirped happily, it knew that it could continue in the battle and now Falkner was starting to pay more attention, which showed Pidgey that even if he fainted against the Taillow, perhaps more so if he did, that this Battle would be a good learning experience for the young Gym Leader. Granted he missed being Falkner's father's Pokemon, but he was still happy to see his former Trainer's son grow as he was. BattlePidgey | Level 10| Health : 32%Status : Normal Attack : A successful Gust. Cheeky | Level 11| Health : 54%Status : Normal; Accuracy -1; Critical Hit ratio x 2 Attack : A successful Peck. It was a Critical hit.

"Wonderful, Cheeky! You're doing fantastic!"
The last attack on Pidgey struck hard and Nadia was excited at how the battle was progressing. Thinking to herself slightly, this gym leader wasn't so hard... of course, that's also because he was new to the whole aspect of being a leader as well. It was said that his father had recently left to do his own training on the road and better himself as a trainer. Luckily, this was a good place to start. If Nadia tried to pit her skills against a gym leader like Lt. Surge... well, the results may have been catastrophic. Just one of his Pokemon could probably take down her entire team. So to begin easy with a rookie gym leader... it was really a fortunate opportunity for her. A good way to learn the ins and outs of the Pokemon League.
"I believe that you can do this, buddy!" Nadia called in embracing reminder to her Taillow. "You can take down Pidgey, no doubt! But I still want you to be careful and don't do anything beyond what you feel comfortable with. Give him a Quick Attack and try your best to bring it home!"
Cheeky was feeling pretty good about himself as well. Sure, his eyes were starting to become a little bloodshot from all that irritating sand from earlier, but that effect was minimal. The end was in a wonderful double-vision sight. He couldn't take the time to properly rinse out his vision in the middle of the battle and felt sure that Nadia wouldn't drive him to the breaking point. With a spreading of his wingspan, Cheeky took to the skies again and became a streaking blur that darted across the gym's air space, a missile that launched itself headstrong to the grounded Pidgey.

Falkner wasn't about to give up, and he knew Pidgey wasn't either. Sure Pidgey had less health at the moment, but health alone wasn't what wins a battle. "Alright Pidgey, I want you to use another Gust. That thing is clearly getting weaker from your other attacks. So just keep it up!" Falkner says to his Pokemon, before looking at the other Trainer, "You seem to know what you're doing with the Flying-type. But my dad taught me and left me these birds, there's no way we can lose, even more so against a bird." he says to Nadia. The Taillow, Cheeky was using Quick Attack though so he was faster, he'd rushed the Pidgey at a speed that made it seem like he'd teleported, he'd crashed into the Pidgey once again, knocking it down once again. He'd then flown back to Nadia to await further orders, but he was very annoyed when he saw the Pidgey get back up again, it could barely stand but it didn't look like it was about to quit the Battle, and he knew the Trainer had called for another Gust, so he started flying down to land to avoid taking as much damage as before. Pidgey still had enough energy to attack however and fairly quickly sent out another Gust toward the Taillow. The attack hit Cheeky just as he was about to land, but it hadn't knocked him into the floor at least. It had knocked him back and caused him some damage, though fairly minor thanks to Pidgey's low energy. So after Cheeky recovered he landed and looked at Nadia for more orders, as the Pidgey seemed to be set on ignoring the fact that it should lose already, it would fight as long as it could for Falkner since that's what his father had wanted. BattlePidgey | Level 10| Health : 2%Status : Normal Attack : A successful Gust. Cheeky | Level 11| Health : 43%Status : Normal; Accuracy -1; Critical Hit ratio x 2 Attack : A successful Quick Attack.

"It's just because I've been studying to be a trainer for a few years in school..." That's all Nadia could think to say in response to Falkner. No disrespect, of course, but she didn't want to lose focus on the battle before her. Falkner had his own reasons to try to win this fight, so well did Nadia herself. They're both fighting to make a member of their family proud, someone that they are now following in their footsteps. Younger, new, and less experienced than those in the field that has already walked before here. The person was different, but the feeling was nonetheless the same between the two. Nobody here was going to quit this match... an admirable trait.
Cheeky landed by Nadia, awaiting his next order. "Nearly there and home free! Cheeky, go after it once more with Quick Attack! Focus!" she commanded, point out into the field of battle. From there, the little blue bird knew exactly what to do. No hint of letting up on the opponent was evident in his trainer's voice, so she wanted him to still go all out. To let up the tension would leave them vulnerable, with their guard caught down. It was foolish to do this anywhere, but even more so in an official gym match.
Cheeky squawked after he ruffled his feathers to present himself as a more intimidating sight, fluffing himself up slightly bigger. When his feathers relaxed again, Cheeky was once again already to the skies and performing the traditional swooping aerobatics that you've come to expect from Taillows. Their average flight patterns were always some-what sudden and show-offish, but nimble and graceful all in the same breath. This has always made them difficult targets to hit as they could turn a complete 180 in mid-flight on a dime. And when they're doing it combined with Quick Attack, exactly when and where they will strike becomes even more never racking on the opponents...

Cheeky's Quick Attack landed, and he was very happy to see the Pidgey was staying down this time, he'd even stood over it for a bit to be sure before he headed back to Nadia. As Falkner had run over to his Pokemon and picked up the small bird, he looked shocked to say the least. He couldn't believe that her bird had beaten his father's Pidgey, it was one of the things his father had left for him and he'd already started to fail his father's legacy in this Battle. How could he have let this happen? Why didn't he notice that Pidgey was having trouble? Did he not care about the well being of his Pokemon? These questions were running through his mind, and he'd started to cry a bit, at the shame he'd brought to his father, and at his treatment of Pidgey. His Father had told him before that a good Trainer isn't one who knows the best techniques or has the best Pokemon, it's the guy that Battles with his Pokemon, not literally of course, but a good Trainer knows when to heal his Pokemon, knows the limits of his Pokemon, has become friends with his Pokemon, and most of all knows his own limits. So after around thirty seconds, he'd recovered fairly quickly considering how he felt, he couldn't make up for what he'd allowed to happen yet, but he did still have a Battle to finish. So he looked at the Trainer that had challenge him, 'I apologize, I have underestimated you and your Pokemon this entire time, and have criticized your ability. That is not how my father would have liked to have this Gym run, I would like to heal Pidgey, but I must finish this Battle with you first. Forgive me but due to this I will be doing my best to end this Battle as quickly as possible."He then grabbed his remaining Pokeball, Pidgeotto, his father's most powerful Pokemon, the first Pokemon his Father had, and Falkner's final Pokemon, he was closest with this one since he'd known it longer and it had been the closest to his father. He threw the Pokeball, releasing the Pidgeotto, with Pidgey still in his arms. "Alright Pidgeotto! We'll need to end this quickly to get help for Pidgey! So get ready to give it everything you've got!" he says to the bird. Congratulations, Cheeky grew to level 13.

Replace Cheeky's Peck with Wing Attack. I'm also replacing Cheeky with Chuchu.
Falkner's first Pokemon had gone down with little difficulty. Probably much to the gym leader's dismay, the earlier Sand Attack did little in hindering Cheeky's accuracy and Focus Energy did well with landing a critical hit before, which gave the challenger the edge in the first round. The little Taillow was proud of his accomplishment by being the first to take down a gym leader's Pokemon. Yes, he was the first of the team; bragging points. He returned in an excited flutter and Nadia responded by sticking out her arm for Cheeky to perch atop. " Cheeky, that was spectacular! Thank you!" the girl said to her victorious Pokemon. She took her hand and rubbed the underpart of Cheeky's chin, in reply he chirped with contentment. Then, she couldn't help but notice Falkner on the other side in complete dismay over his Pidgey's condition. He could really see the love he had for the Pokemon, but it was also some-what sad to see a man crying like that. She kept her opinion to herself, but respected his care for his bird without a doubt. He was still growing and new to the job... he'd come to learn eventually. Nadia let Falkner have this moment to himself and when he finally got his act together, she let out a nod. " Don't worry, its fine. I understand." Not much more could be said at this moment. They were still in a battle... no time to show weakness. They had to keep going strong. Falkner returned his Pidgey and in exchange, released a Pidgeotto; a higher evolutionary form of Pidgey. It sure was a proud looking bird and would be harder to take down. Looking to Cheeky, Nadia obtained his Pokeball again and recalled him without a word, giving only a smile of approval to her friend. Quickly, she rummaged through her team pocket for the correct Pokeball holding her next tactical strike. " Okay, now time for the last phase of the battle! Chuchu, your turn to shine!" Nadia tossed out the next Pokeball with an overhead motion and onto the field of battle, a little yellow mouse resembling with rosy red cheeks. It was Chuchu the Pichu! " Chuchu, I want you to give it your all! No holding back, you hear?" Nadia said to pump up her Pokemon, Chuchu in which responded bu applying pressure to her cheeks and let out a crackle. She was feeling good and ready that the sparks of static electricity didn't even startle her! " Wonderful! I want you to start out with a Thunder Wave!" Curling in her little stubby arms, Chuchu pushed more force to her cheeks and closed her eyes, biting at her lip. " Pipipi... chuuuuu!" She shouted out, sending a series of statically charged waves of energy through the air to Pidgeotto.

Falkner couldn't say he was all that surprised that she'd sent out an Electric Pokemon, Pidgeotto was stronger then Pidgey after all. But it still annoyed him, this would be a very bad thing to have an extended fight against. "Alright Pidgeotto, it's Electric so we can't take any chances! I want you to hit it with a Sand Attack to start with!" he says to his Pokemon, who nods at his orders and takes off to use the attack. It knew that since the enemy was of the Electric-Type this could go very badly in a short amount of time, and getting an early attack in would be good, but reducing the chances of getting hit was a much better idea then causing some early damage. Damage wasn't the only way to win a Battle, and Falkner's father had made sure both Falkner and the Pokemon had learned that lesson very early into their training. So Pidgeotto drew back it's wings and when it brought them forward again, it was with great ferocity, the amount of dirt, and dust picked up dwarfed that from the Pidgey earlier in the Battle. And it was all heading toward cute little Chuchu! The poor little Electric-Type was entirely engulfed in the wall of dirt, it seemed to be choosing to only stay around the Pichu rather then filling the entire Gym, this of course made things worse for Chuchu while it was around her. Luckily she'd closed her eyes rather quickly and as a result the stuff hadn't completely covered her entire eyes, but it had done it's job well enough as she desperately tried to get the junk out of her eyes. She could barely see even from the little amount that got in though, her eyes hurt and there were tears coming from them all while she tried to use her paws to get the stuff out. But eventually she'd managed to get enough out that she could make "reasonable" guesses at what shadows were, and she had an attack to perform. This thing might be stronger, but it was still a Flying-Type Pokemon, so she knew she already had an advantage. Hopefully it'd be enough to make up for the difference in levels but she wouldn't find out just yet. She'd been told to use a Thunder Wave rather then a Thundershock, but that suited her fine, that is until the Pidgeotto's attack had hit her, after that she of course wanted some kind of payback, but she wasn't about to ignore Nadia's orders for that or any reason. So she had sent the power directly to her cheeks, ready to fry this sucker. She then let loose the stored electricity, as the Pidgeotto made it's way back down to the ground to land next to Falkner. Her eyes were still bugging her very much and she was greatly worried about missing the target with her attack. But she'd managed to hit the Pidgeotto just as it was landing, the mild shock literally paralyzed the rather large bird, though it was still able to move it was clearly having some issues as it turned to face her, glaring as the two Pokemon then began to await their next orders. BattlePidgeotto | Level 16| Health : 100%Status : ParalyzedAttack : A successful Sand Attack. Chuchu | Level 13| Health : 100%Status : Normal; Accuracy -1 Attack : A successful Thunder Wave. I am reserving this thread until completion!

Sand Attack again? Falkner must be really trying to play out that strategy... it didn't really work so well last time and chances right now seem it probably won't again. Looking at it like this, if Falkner tries it again and Chuchu hits anyway, it can leave a huge gap difference in health. Even if she were to miss, Pidgeotto is paralyzed. Chuchu would have to miss a lot, and we mean a LOT, to lose this battle. But no time for over confidence now. Even if this was a slim possibility, it was one all the same and had to be treated accordingly if it were to arise. Luckily, Nadia has already got an idea if worst comes to worst with Chuchu...
"Don't worry about the Sand Attack, girl! We can now focus at the task at hand!" Nadia shouted and pointed a finger straight at Pidgeotto, her opposite palm balling into a fist. "Go! Thundershock!"
Now those were the kinds of words Chuchu had been wanting to hear! Not only did her eyes hurt, but her fur was dirty with dust and sand! To make things worse, she smelled strongly of bird droppings! Eww, yuck! With some more eagerness than before, Chuchu squeezed at her cheeks again to generate more electricity. This wasn't going to be a mild wave this time... no, it was going to be a little more intense than that and deal some grave damage if it were to collide. And with Pidgeotto's speed greatly hindered, Chuchu was feeling sure she was now the fastest in the field!
