Machine gun was useless IMO so I say it was you using too much ammo as usual. The burst rifle used to be my main but then I started using the full auto one, in short bursts, and now that I have it I use the semi-auto rifle as my main. A double tap with AP ammo kills, or gets rid of over 75% of the health of, most normal unarmored enemies IIRC. One thing that helps though is, if you are a soldier, you can slow down time and it helps with aiming so you don't need to shoot as much. Also allows you to get to cover as well as move in and destroy the enemy through fire and maneuver.

I liked the gun system in ME1 better you had more options and could atleast attach things to the weapon unlike in ME2 its all preset all you do is buy it.
I'd would have muchr ather had a lower fire rate and a heat up weapon then that clip shit, Alot of times I wouldn't find ammo for like 4 fights it was super annoying.
Best guns to me though was the DLC SMG, the Hand Cannon with head shots and the collecter rifle. The Geth rifle was good for ammo.

I always ran into more clips, they might just disappear after awhile but generally if you keep them bottled up or run into a new area of combat you find them in rather plain view. But if it's the same zone but successive waves of enemies yeah I had trouble there too.

Just didn't give me them all that much, and I hate how you could not edit your allies like in number 1.
I cannot say how much I hated the already decided appearance crap.

Oh the armor and stuff, I think that went hand in hand with the complaints about the upgrade system, honestly the upgrade system in ME1 gave me a headache and I kept getting more and more version it was nearly impossible to keep track of all the ones I had. Then ontop of everything else I had to recheck all my member's equipment to make sure it was up to date.

The upgrade system was bit of a mess. It was incredibly repetitive having to convert the item in question to omni-gel one by one. If it had a check list it might have been a bit better but for the most part it was sloppily executed. Also, ME3 question as there's been a lot of info released about it since this topic was started. Thoughts on Omni-Knife?

Probably be rather useless for me. I'll mostly just shoot them and keep shooting them until they die. About the only time I'd really use it is when I have no ammo, I'm forced to kill silently, or if I'm forced to use it on some enemies that shooting doesn't work on. Overall seems like it was just put in so people could perform attacks like the assassinations in Reach and to make the melee nuts happy. I suppose I won't mind it for times I need it(such as when I'm out of ammo or there is one weak enemy that I don't wanna waste ammo on) but I just hope they don't force me to use it beyond the beginning of the game. I'm thinking that at the start you will have a pistol and the knife. My main issue is just that, like almost every other game, melee attacks and pistols will still be stronger than the assault rifles. T_T
Although it would be awesome if you could customize your weapons and armor, or atleast leave the ability to put camo on the armor, with something like the gunsmith in Future Soldier.

Oh the Omni-blade? Didn't seem that strong by itself since a couple gameplay vids I saw had the Shepard have to pump a few more shots into things.
I do find it amusing that you might get to stab the things you're hacking if all else fails.

I believe the omni knife is only good on taking out enemie sif they have no shield, barrier, or armor up they is alo the quick version or the press and charge type of attack.
Each ally gets their own specail meele attack/\.

Oh dear lord... I just saw they changed that James Sanders guy to James Vega and the image for him that's been circulating about IS true. He looks... Blargh. HOORAY FOR GENERIC MALE #3.

Camo? Yay but I hope there is a digital pattern and that you can still make your own. Co-op would be nice also but that will never happen. Drop the mohawk for a buzz cut and change the mouth and he doesn't look that bad to me but then I'm a faceless/generic grunt lover. Just to make him more generic we should put a helmet on his head!
Oh and Kode, I would hope that the knife bypasses the shield. The shields are only for high speed objects after all. Not sure with barrier or armor though.

Found a pic of him in uniform, the eyepiece isn't even standard on him. But I do find it odd they didn't use a digital camo for the Mass Effect games considering they're supposed to be in the future!

It is probably because a lot of people prefer the look of the old style and are unwilling to accept digital as being better. Although they also don't have optics, or a zoom function for the HUD, for the primary weapons, apart from the sniper rifles, so they don't seem to care much about using modern tools or alternatives. I guess we can just say severe budget cuts are to blame due to the size of the human military compared to modern ones. Also lacked grenades in the traditional sense, under-barrel grenade launcher or shotgun, decent/good light machine guns, and fire selectors. I think they did say grenades will be in ME3 but I hope they aren't like the ones in ME1. From my AR I'd also like the capability to engage out to at least 300m instead of that being sniper rifle range. Sadly that will never happen due to this being a close range series and so pistol people can use it also because shooting to 300m is too hard for most people. Another thing I'd like is being able to make the weapons as good as you can in ME1. I mean in ME1, I was able to make an assault rifle that generated no heat and had no, noticeable, accuracy degradation after three minutes of constant full auto fire. If not like that then at least basic customization or customization in a similar manner as the Army of two series. That way I can make my own personal weapon with the parts I want/need for my personal playstyle. Basic customization meaning being able to attach under-barrel weapon and/or place a optic on it like in most other games. Finally something else I want is some night vision! Stop using damn flash lights and give me night vision! At least I think they have flash lights anyway but the point still stands. Night vision, and missions in dark areas, would be nice. Or night vision that is combined with thermal. That would be awesome. Thinking about it Halo has a lot of the same issues. They had grenades, night vision, and longer range fire in Halo though. Both lacked enough customization, fire selectors, scopes or HUD zoom for all primary weapons, and light machine guns. Stupid sci-fi shooters taking my available hardware.
