So, it's been a good month or so since it's release and I assume some people have had a good chance to get to grips with it.
I've had a few goes on it from a relative and it's definitely not bad but the price tag just isn't for me at the moment. Considering I have such a huge library of DS games to get through still and the fact I bought a DSi when it first came out, i'm content for now.
The launch line up is pretty dire too. Super Street Fighter IV was the only really good game (I've had a lot of goes on it, especially online and what can I say? I laugh doing Cody's pipe special on people!) and everything else seems mediocre. Definitely looking forward to OoT remake. One thing that is ticking me off a bit is the absolute waste of potential the updated WiFi has. SSFIV used it perfectly with no lag whatsoever but Ridge Racer failed to incorporate a mode and just now I read about Star Fox 3DS not utilising it either. You have this new upgraded feature that you're lauding and yet not doing anything to show off its potential. Stay classy.

I'll only buy the 3DS if I see a game that I really, really like that only runs on it (eg. a new pokémon game). Until then, I just feel no urge to get it. At all. That being said, I've never played it.
CAN YOU GIVE US A MORE DETAILED REPORT ON IT?

I gotta go walk the dog in a moment but one thing I will say is all this furore about the 3D causing headaches and DAMAGING YOUR EYESIGHT FOREVER are needlessly exaggerated. I think in the first 20 mins or so I had a slight headache but after repeated plays on the handheld that has since gone. It's merely your eyes adapting to a new display. From what i've seen, the 3D is pretty cool in places and in SSFIV it did feel like characters were being lobbed out the screen (Especially when Seth uses that blasted move with his yin/yang in his stomach).
Only real annoyance is with the 3D depth up if you move it at all to the left or right the effect is lost and the screen becomes blurry. Which is a shame because when you're looking over someone's shoulder to see what they're doing it looks like a right mess. So gone are the days where that was possible I guess. I think, give it time and the 3DS will definitely be a worthy successor to the DS. It's just at bit of a difficult transition right now sadly. The DS has a HUGE install base and games are still being released for it. So until that dies down and people begin migrating when some killer apps are made for it, that's when it'll begin to shine.

... You have to look vertically down at the 3D screen? *****. That sounds really annoying. Really, really annoying! Not happy at all with that.
At the moment, I just don't see the point. Maybe you have to actually play it before you can see the point.

Well not entirely vertically down at it, just as long as your eyes are looking head on straight at it. It IS quite annoying I must admit but thinking back to how I play other handhelds it's not like i'm viewing it any differently. It does just stop people over your shoulder looking at it. At the end of the day, it's all down to the nature of the screen. Glassless 3D was always going to be like that on such a scale.
Of course, if that all bothers you, the depth slider can be turned off entirely, removing the 3D. Then you can view it at any angle. Play it sideways if it tickles your fancy. But then again, that defeats the purpose of the console. It defeats the main thing its being sold on; it's "3D" ability.
