- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Damn it all!"
The words were hissed in muted outrage. Tanya stood huddled under a large, impressive tree with lovely green foliage that helped shelter her and her Meowth from the deluge of rain and hail from above. She'd just managed to make it through the perilous Union Cave, from simply balmy weather in Violet City, only to be greeted by a sinking sun that had quickly vanished behind clouds of dark, steely gray.
Fiero gazed out into the hissing rain, amber eyes glowing as they followed the progress of the ice pellets that had become mixed in with the rain following a small, severe thunderstorm that had broken out not far from where they had emerged on Route 33. It wasn't a long trek to Azalea from where they stood, but Tanya had been unable to locate an umbrella in her blue backpack.
While Fiero acted the role of sentinel, his pony-tailed trainer furiously dug through her backpack, ignoring the insistent beeps of her PokéGear's phone function. Whoever was calling her could wait until she found her umbrella, and possibly a coat or sweatshirt to throw over her current outfit.
"Yes! Found you!" Tanya suddenly cried, thrusting a green umbrella into the air. Grinning with her success, the girl laid the accessory beside her bag and began rooting through it for some extra clothes. With a light thud the Lucky Egg that had been stuffed in her jean's pocket dropped to the slightly moist ground and rolled towards Fiero, where it stopped after bumping into his paw. The feline looked down and picked up the familiar item before setting it atop his head behind the golden coin that rested between a pair of whiskers.
As he did this, Tanya had managed to find a white sweatshirt that she zipped up to just around her chest and stood up straight, replacing her backpack on her shoulders and clutching her umbrella tightly. Emerald eyes found Fiero's expectant face waiting for her direction. "We're going to see what sort of Pokémon we can find around here first before we run into town. I know there's a gym here and I'd like to do some good training like last time," the fiery-haired teen explained, unwrapping her umbrella and letting it expand out into its circular shape.
With a haughty snort Fiero strode over to his trainer and leapt gracefully onto her shoulder, not at all expecting her human device to protect him fully from nature's wrath. Tanya grinned and scratched the cat under the chin before taking a deep breath and staring out into the rain and hail.
(It's now or never!) She thought to herself triumphantly, strolling out into the foul weather with her shoulders set and head held high. Whatever came their way, whether it be more of nature's nasty little surprises or a hidden Pokémon braving the storm, she and her fickle Meowth would be ready to take 'em on. Maybe after this she'd even be able to visit her cottage. It wasn't far from Azalea, but the first thing she'd do would be stop in at the local Poké Mart and restock on some supplies.
Ah well, at least she had a roof to sleep under tonight.

The hail beat down on the ground so steadily that it was almost soothingly rhythmic. Though, none of this soothed a small silver Pokémon that walked dejectedly down the route. Its ears hung low, while its head was hung lower. Most Pokémon were curled safely in their nests, the hail was the driving force behind that. But Poochyena couldn’t sit still, nor could it go back to its nest. Not before its little brother was curled safely back in its nest with it. It growled at the memory, it seemed like it happened days ago, yet it had only been an hour or so. “Yena!” the young wolf puppy growled, playfully batting at Poochyena’s ear. He was somewhat younger than it, and the sparkle in his eyes was undeniably cute. Poochyena pushed him over subtlety with its paw, making him tumble over. Their nest wasn’t big, but it was big enough for the small Poochyena to play in. Their parents were most likely out, being the only two Mightyena in the area, they were careful no Trainer ever saw them, and they were probably looking for some sort of food.
Being the older sibling, Poochyena was left in charge, and it enjoyed the chore. Laying its head on its paw, It watched its brother as he tumbled on the floor. The hail didn’t bother either of them, and it had been quiet since the pesky Mankey wouldn’t dare come out during a storm like this.
“Bibarel!” A sudden yip from its little brother and Poochyena was on its feet, as a foreign Bibarel stuck its head into their nest, placing its grabby little paws onto Poochyena’s little brother. Poochyena, though scared, went on the offensive, barking and snarling as Bibarel forcefully dragged its brother from the nest. It quickly darted after the creature, out into the hail storm, making a ruckus that on a normal day would have dragged any Pokémon from their nest.
Snarling once again, it latched onto Bibarel’s tail with its canine teeht, and Bibarel cried out, though it continued to run, Poochyena’s brother now snagged between its teeth by the scruff of his neck. He was whimpering, squirming in every which way to try and get out. Bibarel stopped by a Human, dressed simply in a black cloak, her fiery orange hair sticking out in every which way behind her. She greeted the Bibarel before taking Poochyena’s brother from it.
“Well, I suppose this will make a fine fur cuff or something, good work Bibarel.” She muttered, throwing the young pup into a cage and locking it tight before concealing under a tarp in a wooden carriage, drawn by a single Ponyta. She was suddenly alerted by the snarl coming from behind Bibarel.
“Bibarel, what are you waiting for, give it to me!” Bibarel obeyed and slammed its tail on the ground, sending Poochyena flying into a bush.
“Imbecile!” She shouted, running over to the bush to try and find her escaped ‘bag of money’. How was she expected to make a fur coat with a lack of Poochyena fur? Poochyena, with no other option, darted away. But it would return, to get its brother back…but could it return in time before the girl left the area? It stumbled away, to go find its parents, something, someone that could and would help.Nowit continued to walk up to a rock close to where Tanya and Fiero were currently. It climbed up onto the rock and pulled its ears back, raising its head. “Aoooooooo!” Anything to get its parents to come back…Fiero turned to see the sad ball of silver sitting there, howling. Did it want a battle? Or was it just passing by? Its howling was kind of soothing, but it sounded depressed. Was there something wrong with it? ______________________________________________________ InfoA wild Poochyena has wandered into the area, but does not look up for a battle. There has also been rumors of a Poacher that collects fur in this area, not yet found. Maybe the two are connected?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was rather cold as they walked through the area, probably thanks to the lack of sun to warm the area up. Thunder rumbled overhead, though it sounded weak and far away. (Good. Now we won't have to deal with a thunderstorm.) The hail bouncing off of her umbrella was enough of a pain in the ass for one day. Tanya was also rather thankful that she had put her hair into a ponytail and avoided any unwanted frizz that usually occurred when it met moisture left by the rain.
Fiero clung lazily to her shoulder, his keen eyes keeping track of any movement that happened, just in case a Pokémon came barreling out to attack his trainer. Even if he acted like all he cared about was himself, any creature that had the gall to try and harm his trainer, his protector, would get sliced into ribbons. A pleased smirk appeared on his face moment before the mournful howls of a depressed Pokémon erupted from nearby.
The sound was so startling Tanya nearly leapt a foot in the air. Her right hand fluttered nervously over her heart, whirling on the spot to catch sight of a most heart-breaking scene. The silver wolf was simply gorgeous, but the sadness that colored its voice and face was enough to wrench her heart.
"Poor little buddy... wonder what's got it in the doldrums?" she asked herself, letting her eyes drift to Fiero. The tawny cat was simply watching the saddened Poochyena with a mixed expression that was too hard to discern. Before Tanya could make a single move, a person appeared on the path before her, jogging along in a slick blue rain jacket with the hood thrown up against the weather. He caught sight of the Poochyena and frowned, slowing his pace down enough for Tanya to study him. A shiny badge appeared to be pinned to the chest of his jacket, making her wonder if he was a police officer or some sort of authoritative figure around these parts.
Hopefully, either one of them. Dragging his eyes from the mournful Dark type, the man looked round and noticed Tanya. His eyes widened in surprise before he hurried over towards her. "Excuse me miss? Do you know what happened here?" the stranger asked, gesturing to the Poochyena. Tanya shook her head, causing her low-hanging ponytail and bat Fiero in the back of the head. He scowled and batted at the hair until it swung up and rested on the opposite shoulder.
She ignored this and refocused on the man. "No sir. The little fellow just appeared out of nowhere. I have no idea what's wrong," the girl answered honestly. The man sighed and pressed a hand to his face, shaking his head. "I was afraid of that. You see, there's been word that there's a fur poacher hunting Pokémon in the area. Maybe they got its family or something. Uh, my name's Constable Andrews," he said quickly, offering a hand for her to shake. Tanya took it and made a silent gesture for Andrews to continue. "I want to look around for this poacher myself, but I don't want to leave this Poochyena alone when someone that dangerous is roaming these parts. Could I ask you to keep an eye on it until I complete my search?" the officer asked hopefully, his dark blue eyes crinkling at the corners.
If it were not for the Poochyena in question, Tanya might have been hesitant to answer. But her eyes were resolved and her face was set when she answered. "I'd be happy to." Constable Andrews smiled in relief and held up a hand before turning around and jogging out of sight. The auburn-haired girl bit her lip before walking slowly over to the Poochyena and crouching down just before the rock, balancing the umbrella awkwardly in one hand. The other she offered, palm flat and facing up, to the silver wolf in a gesture that meant she didn't want to harm. "I know he meant for me to probably stay here, but I know canines in general have good noses. Is there any chance I can help you?" Tanya asked the Poochyena, ignoring the annoyed grunt from Fiero.
He didn't really like dogs after the incident on the beach involving Joey. But it was his trainer's call to help the little pup, and perhaps he'd even get some battling if he was lucky enough.

Poochyena growled out as Tanya came to its side. It was about to bite but instead stared down at her hand. Sniffing Tanya’s hand, it got the vibe that she wasn’t going to try and hurt it and listened to what she had to say. Was she really going to help out? Did she mean it? Poochyena subconsciously began to wag its tail, excited that someone was going to help it. It didn’t honestly trust Humans in genral, but maybe this one could be trusted. Its soft fur brushed against Tanya’s hand as it jumped from the rock, in a bit higher spirit now that it had a hope of saving its kid brother. All it had to do was retrace its steps, and it could find the stupid Poacher! Though it hoped the girl could face up to Bibarel and Ponyta if need be. It didn’t do anything as it brushed past Fiero. The pup had never minded cat Pokémon, and it wasn’t about to mind them now. Putting its nose to the ground, it took in the scent trail it had left previously, and barked to Tanya, hoping she’d follow as its little gray form disappeared into the bushes. The trail took a while to follow, but Poochyena could feel it. Its little brother wasn’t too far off. Without a second thought, it bounded forward, stopping only to run back and butt its head against Tanya’s leg, innocently nudging her in the right direction. “Stupid mutt bit me!” Poochyena’s ears perked as the voice came into earshot. It was the poacher. Its lips curled back into a snarl, and it was about ready to dart out into the open and give the stupid Poacher a piece of its mind. A yip followed by a small snarl sounded from over the bushes. “Stay still you stupid ball of fur, or would you rather I kill you to get all of that soft fur for my coat?” the poacher questioned in a nonchalant tone. Poochyena growled, that lady had just crossed the line! It casted an apologetic glance in Tanya’s direction before jumping out into the open, barking and snarling as it had done to the poacher’s Bibarel earlier. The poacher flipped her hair, throwing the baby Poochyena back into the cage before facing his sibling. “Well well, if it isn’t my little bag of money. Come back and given up like a good little doggy have you?” Her eyes suddenly flashed to the bush, where she spotted Tanya and Fiero on the other side. “Oh and you brought friends. You know girl, your Meowth’s fur would make a great purse of something.” Her mindless banter was angering Poochyena, and Fiero wasn’t exactly all too keen on being called the perfect purse either. She scoffed, coming to a realization. “So, you’ve come for this mutt’s little brother have you? Well I’ll tell you, I’m not giving it up without a fight. Believe me, you won’t win. My Bibarel and Ponyta will take you out before you have time to blink. That's because Lynn never loses!” She raised her hand and Bibarel and Ponyta stood in front of her offensively. Poochyena gave another snarl before standing in front of Tanya. Though it had never teamed up with a human before, it couldn’t hurt. ______________________________________________________ InfoFur Poacher Lynn has challenged you to a double battle! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - At first, the Poochyena seemed hesitant to see her so close, but it seemed to realize that she wasn't going to hurt it when she offered it her palm. Fiero's fur stood up as the wolf got closer, though he made no move to strike. It hadn't bothered him yet, and Tanya would be rather disappointed if he struck out at it for no reason. The wariness was coded into his genes, and his mind, by experience and nature.
The Poochyena's cautious look melted into one of awe as it absorbed the impact of her words. The fur that brushed against her palm as it wagged its tail and hopped down was soft and silky, and was very tempting to run her hand through. It was then that she realized two things - it smelled like wet dog and it was already moving away.
Quickly rising to her feet, the girl repositioned her umbrella and hurried off behind the little silver gray blur that disappeared into the bushes. Fiero leapt off of her shoulder and landed on the wet ground, ignoring the rain and hail to give his trainer a more visible guide to follow. Her boots ate up the ground eagerly as she tailed the two mammals to their destination, her green eyes alert. Perhaps the poacher really was involved in all of this, and if they were, then it was up to her to stop them. The idea made her nervous, but she'd seen, and battled, worse people. Of course, she could only hope that this stranger hunter wasn't as twisted as a pretzel.
("Stupid mutt bit me!") The voice of the poacher even managed to reach her as she finally caught up to both Fiero and the wild Poochyena. Tanya frowned and slowed her pace, hoping to catch some information before she was spotted. At the woman's next words, the girl saw red flash before her eyes. "You touch a hair on that Pokémon's head and I swear I'll throw you into a river!" she hissed under her breath, trying to keep a handle on her temper. If there was one thing she hated, it was people who treated Pokémon like crap, as if they were only tools and stepping stones for better things.
She carefully positioned herself as she walked closer, coming up behind Fiero just in time to catch the apologetic look from the Poochyena before it burst out of the bushes, snarling and creating a hell of a racket to alert the poacher. It wasn't long before the spotlight landed on her. Squaring her shoulders, Tanya began to walk forwards effortlessly, keeping one hand tightly wrapped around her umbrella whilst the other was clenched into a fist. Trailing at her side was Fiero, whose amber gaze was narrowed and angry. A purse... like she'd ever be able to touch him! He would slice her into pieces before she got within inches of his glorious fur!
What Lynn said seemed to amuse Tanya more than it did her Meowth. "If you think you can turn this spitfire into a purse, by all means try it," the girl replied sarcastically, her eyes as hard as the gemstone they were colored like. "Just don't expect to be doing that any time in the future." Her tone and face were all business now.
Fiero seemed beside himself with rage and was pacing in front of his trainer, rotating his glare between her Pokémon and the woman herself. He was murderous over the purse comment, and once insulted, the feline was hard to stop.
His trainer was more levelheaded, but her rage was quiet and simmering. Giving Lynn a dark smile, Tanya raised her arm and flicked her fingers forwards. "You've never heard of Johto's rising trainer then, have you? I'll make sure my name is stamped into your memory forever. Never forget the day you lost to Tanya Jordan!" the girl declared confidently, not a trace of cockiness to be found. Her gaze wandered to Fiero, who was watching her with one amber eye. A nod tossed his way allowed him to be assured he was getting an attack and slink forwards like a jungle cat on the prowl.
"Thunderbolt on that Bibarel!" the fiery-haired youth called out. Fiero began rubbing his paws together very quickly, creating a static shock between them. The metal coin on his head began to spark and become the conduit for the electricity he was generating. It wasn't a moment later that a powerful Thunderbolt went whizzing through the air at Lynn's enormous beaver. What the Poochyena did was up to it, because Tanya was more concerned in freeing the small Poochyena the woman had locked up and making sure Fiero didn't go completely crazy.

Lynn pursed her lips as Tanya explained her take on things. This girl wanted to make her pay? Well fat chance! She’d make her regret the words that left her lips. Both Bibarel and Ponyta were trained well, and that’s what always kept them from becoming fur coats or some nice fancy scarf. Poochyena has its gaze set on the Bibarel who had taken its brother away in the first place, but Fiero stepped forwards first. Tanya had ordered a thunderbolt of him, so a thunderbolt was going to fly. Fiero charged up his fur, his body sparking in several places before he unleashed a thunderbolt that hit Bibarel head on. Bibarel was panting by the time the bolt had finished it’s electrifying course through its body, and it was ready to get back at Fiero. It would have to wait though, mainly because Lynn had other plans. She flicked her orange hair once again before turning to Ponyta. “Ponyta, Flame wheel on Poochyena. Make it good, careful not to damage the fur too much.” Ponyta’s heels resounded as they hit the wet ground, and the horse quickly turned into a mass of fire, the drops of hail and rain creating smoke around as it came barreling into Poochyena. The pup yipped in pain, but kept on its feet. It had to stay strong, no matter what came at it, though at that moment its vision blurred and it fell. There, it felt, went its chance to prove itself. Lynn glanced at her Bibarel, who was still glaring at Fiero. She knew it wanted revenge, which would help a lot in this situation. “Alright Bibarel, make up for your fumble earlier and use Water gun and her Meowth!” Bibarel quickly sprung up and fired a giant stream of water at Fiero, which sent him back a few inches. Though he wasn’t very impressed and quickly hopped back into his place beside the fallen Poochyena. "see sweetheart? Don't count on winning, not with that weak little pooch and kitten on your side." Lynn gave a scoff as she said this, which made Fiero narrow his eyes at her. The hail began to come down harder, pelting the remaining three Pokemon mercilessly. _____________________________________________________ Battle!Lynn's Bibarel |Level 15| Health: 53% (31/58 HP)Status: Normal;Pelted by Hail! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was a battle unlike any she'd fought before, and she could tell right off the bat it was going to be a little more challenging. Fiero's attack seemed to take a fair bit out of the Water/Normal type beaver, but the most surprising attack came from the woman's Ponyta. Within seconds it was cloaked in a veil of flames that created hissing vapour where the rain and hail met.
The Ponyta went charging at the wild Poochyena, knocking it out on the spot. A twinge of guilt ran through her for taking her attention off of the brave little wolf, but that guilt was quickly overrun when Fiero nearly collided with her, fur soaked even more by the Bibarel's counter attack.
He huffed and swiped the water from his face furiously, tail flicking behind him. Everything about this lady touched a nerve, and he was eager to destroy her team and teach her what a 'weak kitten' he was. But he was out a partner, and Tanya wasn't going to leave him standing on his own. Her backpack was placed gently beside the fallen Poochyena, whom she shifted very gently to keep it out of the way of any attacks being thrown about. Reaching into her bag, Tanya pulled out Tempesta's Poké Ball and gave it a kiss, regretful that she'd allowed this to happen already.
It wasn't fair to use her Buizel again, but the Ponyta was simply too dangerous to allow to stay on the field with Flame Wheel at its disposal. Standing up, Tanya cocked her arm back and then flung forwards, sending the sphere spinning wildly into the rain-filled air. Water spun off its surface like a top before the ball stopped and opened wide, spitting her Buizel into the fray. Tempesta held out a paw and grinned when she felt the rain. The hail could pretty much go screw itself, but she adored when it rained. Fiero hissed in displeasure when he saw his new partner.
The fact that these two didn't get along very well was common knowledge among Tanya's Pokémon. Tempesta hated the feline's sticky paw habit, and the cat hated her in return just for being a Water type and policing his actions. Unfortunately for both of them, they'd have to suck it up and get along, if only for just the one battle.
"Like your overgrown beaver and pony scare me," Tanya replied scathingly, wishing she could cross her arms. Instead, her free hand came up in her signature flick as she launched into her next attack strategy. Tempesta had been pitted out for one reason - and that was to take the little pony out before it wiped the floor with her cat. "Focus on that Ponyta with Water Gun and Fury Swipes!" the girl ordered quickly. This would leave her team open to an attack from the Bibarel, but it was a risk she was definitely willing to take.
Being faster and stronger than her feline comrade, Tempesta didn't spare a second and ran forwards, her sky blue eyes dancing with the thrill of the battle. Stopping not far from the Fire type, the Buizel leapt into the air and sprayed out a hose-like jet of water at the pony's head, aiming to keep it confused and pissy so that Fiero, who was rushing in low with his claws out, could take it down for the count.

When Tanya sent out Tempesta, Lynn didn’t think it would be so much trouble, but she was sure wrong. To her, Ponyta had always been the fastest Pokémon, and a Buizel couldn’t possibly stand up to her. So instead of being cautious, she chuckled and pointed at Tempesta. “That puny rat isn’t going to do anything against my Pokemon. Maybe you should choose wisely, remember if I win, I get that little mutt you’re with. Oh, or did I forget to mention that little pricetag I have on this battle?” The carrot top simply smirked as she motioned to the knocked out Poochyena. In the cage, its little brother whimpered, pacing in the tiny contraption as it looked at its sibling, who seemed more helpless than himself at the moment. “Shut up you little whelp!” She growled, making the pup cringe in its cage. Tempesta learned her order and quickly carried it out, shooting a jet of water which hit Ponyta hard. Ponyta reared up and her back hoofs scraped against the wet ground as she fought to keep her balance. “Ugh, Ponyta use Ember on Meowth!” Ponyta was weak now, its Hit Points had been drained away pretty well by Tempesta’s water gun, and she fought herself to stay up. Finally she raised her head and released a couple of hot embers, which once again mingled with the rain. Fiero was hit dead on and quickly was sapped of plenty of his strength. The burning wounds were quickly soothed over by some of the rain water, but Fiero was weaker none the less. When he was told to use Fury swipes, he decided he wasn’t going to be shown up by Tempesta. He ran forwards, claws outstretched, while Ponyta stood there unable to dodge. Claws slashed through the soft skin of its face only a moment later, and a small bit of blood dripped from the marks. Ponyta fell over, and didn’t get up again. It was tired and definitely out of the action. Lynn cursed under her breath as she returned the creature to her Pokeball, roughly shoving it into her pocket before turning to Bibarel. “Bibarel, Rollout on Buizel!” Bibarel curled into a ball upon the command and started to collect dirt and debris around his body. He kept going until he finally barreled into Tempesta. She however, took the hit very lightly and only teased Bibarel with a quick flicker of her tail, like she was telling him he could have done better than that. the hail came down once more, giving the remaining three Pokemon a bit more of a pounding. ______________________________________________________ Battle!Lynn's Bibarel |Level 15| Health: 50% (29/58 HP)Status: Normal; Pelted by Hail! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The execution of their attacks went perfectly, other than Fiero getting a little crisped around the edges from a parting blow. He leapt back after taking out the flaming carnival ride and licked his wounds, wincing at the battering of hail that was steadily weakening him. A scowl lit his face when he watched the Bibarel go rolling into Tempesta, only to have the Buizel shrug it off as if the attack was nothing.
But while they exchanged blows, Tanya had gone diving into her backpack again and withdrawn her Pokédex, flipping it open and calling up a scan for Fiero. He'd been in the battle the longest, and judging by his slumped shoulders and low hanging posture, he was taking a hell of a beating. Her dex beeped as it scanned the Meowth and reported its results.

Tanya read the display three times before looking up at her Meowth with concern lighting her green eyes up. Thunderbolt was a hell of a move, even from a non-Electric type, and it scored nice damage on the part Water type Bibarel. But Hail damage, and possibly a Rollout in Fiero's direction, would wipe him out. He'd already fainted once in a battle thanks to her lack of hindsight, so it meant that he'd have to suck up his pride while she healed him. Tempesta waited impatiently as Tanya shut off her Dex and stowed it away, replacing it with a purple and gray spray bottle.
"Fiero, here now. Tempesta, distract that wanna be beaver with Swift in the mean time," the girl instructed quickly, snapping her fingers. Fiero obeyed immediately, much to her shock. He had felt the drain on his health and knew better than to refuse healing, even despite his pride. And besides, he could get in a parting blow.
While Tanya began spraying Fiero's wounds, her Buizel padded forwards, blue eyes focused keenly on the large beaver before her. Her twin tails took on a glow that looked quite pretty until the otter was spinning in the air, her tails rotating at high speed to send a spray of bright stars whizzing through the air at the Bibarel's face. Her attack had barely been launched when Tanya ushered Fiero, now feeling much better, forwards with a call of, "Thunderbolt!"
Repeating the same maneuver as before, the cat began rubbing his paws furiously together, producing static shock that ran along his coat and collected into the coin on his head. Rasping a battle cry, the Meowth swiped the air before sending another leaping thunderbolt flying at the hopefully busy Bibarel.

Lynn cringed as she heard Tanya order a swift from Tempesta, and while she healed no less! What was she, chopped liver? Was she not bad enough to have the girl’s attention the entire battle? She guessed not. Tempesta was in the air, firing glowing swift stars that got Bibarel in several areas, his face, arms, and Torso. Some cut him up a bit, but his bulky stature kept him upright. “Bibarel, you hang in if you don’t want to become an accessory!” She threatened, taking a moment to glare at Tanya as she said this. Fiero, who now had a bit more health, snickered at how unimportant the girl was probably feeling. Oh well, sucked for her. “Now make yourself useful and use rollout again!” Bibarel repeated his ealier move, barreling into Fiero this time, as he was unable to control his direction. This didn’t take Fiero out, but it re-weakened him. It was stronger than the one that had hit Tempesta. Lynn somehow knew this was it. If Tanya hadn’t used the potion, Fiero would have hit Bibarel before it got a move in and this battle would have been over. Now the thunderbolt came down on her Bibarel, and it fell hard on the wet ground. “I can’t believe I lost….then again…” She dragged a Pokeball from behind her. “You really thought I wouldn’t have a back-up plan? Go, Scyther!” The green Pokémon appeared in a flash of light, and it looked at a bit of a higher level than Tempesta. “I don’t care about rules anymore sweetie. Scyther, Quick attack!” Scyther began to move, and was quickly blocked by a flash of silver. The quick attack hit, and a yip was heard as the recently injured Poochyena fell to the ground. It had blocked the attack! “Yen!” It tried to stand up, but promptly fell back down. Lynn flicked her hair over her shoulder. “Hm. Seems this thing wants to die. Scyther, cut.” Syther rushed at the fallen pup, and it seemed like a goner… but then: “Mightyena!”“Might!” A pair of jaws clamped onto Scyther’s neck, stopping it from moving any father. “Scyth!” These must have been the Poochyena’s parents! The second Mightyena gave the younger pup a small shove, and nuzzled affectionately at its fur. The Mightyena that had attack loomed over Scyther, when it was suddenly disrupted by a whistle. “Lynn, you are under arrest for Pokémon poaching!” It was Officer Jenny’s voice that sounded out over the area. Constable Andrew’s stood behind her, and Jenny grabbed Lynn’s hands and cuffed her before she could run. The Mightyena that had been fighting trotted over to Andrew’s and let him pet his head. The other Mighyena, who appeared to be the mother, nudged open the younger Poochyena’s cage, who barreled out and took cover under her legs. Jenny turned to Tanya, bowing before handing her an envelope. “There we go your reward for finding her. She’s been so slick and it’s been very hard to find her. Thank you, now the Pokémon around here can rest safely!” She said nothing more as she made Lynn get into the sidecar of her motorcycle. Andrews gave Tanya a grateful look before jogging after them. Both Mightyena found their way over to Tanya, and seemed to understand that she had helped their Children. “Yena!” The father put his front paws on Tanya’s stomach and gave her a gesture that he was grateful, and the mother did the same. A yip came from behind them, and Poochyena’s little brother practically leapt at Tanya. There was no doubt he was most grateful to her. Poochyena was last to limp up to her. It was sad to say goodbye, but it knew she had to keep moving. Its mother came up behind her, nudging it further to Tanya. Poochyena caught its mother’s idea and barked, wagging its tail from side to side. Maybe it would be a good Idea to join Tanya, and at some point maybe become stronger! Mama Mightyena made her way back to the rest of the family, while Poochyena awaited Tanya to get what they were getting at. ______________________________________________________ InfoFur Poacher Lynn has been defeated! He likes to go sniffing for new things and usually goes wandering far out of sight, much to Tanya's displeasure. In battles, Verchiel tries his best, although he often puts himself in danger to protect his partners or trainer and ends up on the losing side of things. Happiness: 0
(Into my box he goes. Fiero keeps his moves, Tempe drops Water Gun for Aqua Jet)
"Your poaching days are over!" Tanya called out to Lynn, knowing there wasn't a chance in hell that her Bibarel could take a double-teamed blow from her partners. The beaver seemed stunned by the Swift attack, but he recovered enough to, as Tanya guessed, go rolling into Fiero. She knew she probably could have outraced the attack, but she never liked to take risks that could cost her in the long run. Once the Bibarel rolled back, Fiero's attack struck home.
Within moments the Bibarel had taken the path of his earlier partner and fainted, recalled by the now angry Lynn. Tanya glared at the poacher and stepped protectively forwards when a large green Scyther appeared before her. Tempesta let out a rather savage snarl and prepared to strike when a silver streak burst out in front of her and stopped the bug's attack.
Fiero made a noise of surprise, which quickly morphed into disgust when Lynn heartlessly began to order her Pokémon to kill the wounded Poochyena. Luckily the cops arrived in the nick of time to arrest the woman. And right around the same time, a pair of Mightyena charged into the fray and helped hold down the striking Scyther. One freed the locked up Poochyena pup and went to tend to the wounded one. The one pinning the Scyther let go, leaving the bug to attempt to dash at Tanya's Pokémon.
Tempesta felt a surge of power and something changing inside her, a new move of sorts. The Scyther had yet to be taken down, and she wasn't going to let it play dirty. Out of nowhere, a cocoon of water burst into existence around her body, enveloping her head to furry toe. "BUII!" the otter cried, launching herself forwards at an amazing speed and slamming into the mantis' gut. With a screech of pain it was knocked backwards and into its ball, which was collected by Constable Andrews along with Lynn's other things.
When the Buizel trotted back over to her trainer, Tanya was looking very impressed by both of her Pokémon. "Great job you two. We helped stop that foul woman from doing more horrible deeds to the other Pokémon roaming the area," the auburn haired girl told her team members proudly, recalling both of them into their respective balls before Officer Jenny approached. (“There we go your reward for finding her. She’s been so slick and it’s been very hard to find her. Thank you, now the Pokémon around here can rest safely!”) Tanya seemed slightly abashed at being rewarded for something she felt was more like personal justice that she had dealt, but it would be rude to refuse.
She accepted the envelope with a relieved smile. "I'm glad to have helped, Officer Jenny, Constable Andrews," Tanya said politely, bowing her head to the two police before they left. Her gemstone eyes watched the three humans leave before she felt paws on her stomach and looked down to see the Mightyena parents surrounding her to give her their thanks.
A furry body pounced the back of her legs, alerting her to the smallest Poochyena articulating its thanks before dashing over to its parents. The wounded wolf whom she had helped seemed depressed all over until its mother nudged it forwards in her direction. It cheered up, and Tanya got the connection. "You wanna join me?" she asked it, kneeling down on the ground and shifting her umbrella to her weaker hand to scratch the wolf under the chin. The girl moved her eyes to the mother wolf and spoke directly to her. "I'll take care of your little Poochyena for you. Maybe one day I can bring him back all grown up," she said warmly, reaching back for her backpack and bringing out a Poké Ball.
Tapping the pup on the head, Tanya watched the device capture the Poochyena before vanishing from her palm, transported to her PC Box in the Pokémon Center. And luck would have it, the hail and rain began to clear up a little, leaving her able to walk for a while without her umbrella. It was a good thing, as she really wanted to train around here a little more.
Hoisting her backpack onto her shoulders, the fiery haired youth waved at the wolf family in farewell before returning back to where she'd started by trudging through the bushes. It wasn't long, however, until she was feeling a little more than lost. Tagging along behind her, having been released barely moments earlier, was her Buneary Angelus, who jingled with each movement thanks to the Soothe Bell wrapped in purple silk around her neck. "Bun, bun buneary." (We're lost, aren't we?) Tanya looked offended, having guessed what her rabbit had just been saying.
"I know what I'm doing! ...um, hopefully," she admitted, scratching her head. There was a fair expanse of trees, and the slight mist created by the steamy temperatures and the earlier storms didn't help either.

Tanya was lost; anyone with good eyesight could see that. Though she seemed to not want to admit to that, or was at least hesitant to. The encounter with the wolves and the poacher was barely an hour ago, but the red-head seemed to have gotten pretty far in that time. What she didn’t know though, was that she had a little stalker, which followed her agilely through the trees. Its peach colored fur was matted from the previous rainfall, and it blended in well with its misty surroundings. Humans always came through this neck of the route, but this was the first one the pig nosed Pokémon had ever followed. This Pokémon was Mankey, and not only was it a tough little fighting type, but these creatures were also known quite well for their mischief. Go figure that Tanya couldn’t have run into an Azalea town resident, but instead a cheeky little pig monkey. Angelus had had that feeling of being followed for a while now, but she couldn’t exactly tell what was following them. She stopped momentarily. Sniffing the air, she soon concluded it smelled like…bananas. Mankey made an entrance by jumping onto Tanya’s head and promptly falling off, rolling in a bundle onto the floor, before standing up and throwing some mock punches in the air. It wanted to fight now, boy did its mood change quickly. Maybe next time Tanya could meet someone who would actually help her. ______________________________________________________ InfoWild Mankey (Level 12) has appeared, and it totally has not been stalking you!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - As they walked, she felt an odd prickling sensation on the back of her neck, as if something were watching her from a distance. It was unnerving, but Tanya ignored it and tried to focus on finding her way back to the area where she'd come out of Union Cave. Not even her PokéNav was getting reception, so accessing a more accurate map was out of the question. Her Map of Johto, the parchment version, was good, but it didn't tell her the exact location she was in.
It was just an overview of the region and served little use. Tanya finally stopped and leaned against a tree, stifling a yawn against the back of her hand. Angelus heaved a dramatic sigh and rested herself up against Tanya's jean clad legs, chocolate eyes looking around in a bored manner.
Right around then was when she sensed something amiss. Her nose twitched as she sniffed at the air, wondering why the scent of bananas and musk was so overpowering - and so close. The Buneary was about to tug on her trainer's leg when a shuffling from the tree above stopped her and made her choke on her words. A bundle of cream fur dropped from the towering trunk and bounced off of Tanya's head, causing the auburn-haired girl to yelp, stumble, and fall into the fallen leaves scattered across the forest floor. Angelus puffed herself up at the Mankey, ready to give it the yelling of a lifetime when she realized it would mean the piggish little creature would assume she wanted to battle.
Opting not to risk her neck, the Buneary hushed herself and hopped over to her trainer, pulling at the girl's hand. Tanya rose up, her hand rising to pat the top of her head where the Mankey had bounced off. "The hell was that?" she muttered, looking right at the Fighting type and not really getting it. Had it been her silent follower? Still mildly confused about the whole thing, Tanya pulled herself into a sitting position and unzipped the part of her bag that housed the containers of her team.
With a quick flourish, Saphira's dragon and fireball sticker covered ball was in her fingers and sent spinning into the air. Her Charmeleon landed with a light thud in the dead leaves and mushy ground, blinking her sapphire colored eyes against the change in environment. Tanya pushed herself to standing and wiped her pants clear of debris before scooping Angelus into her arms. She tossed Saphira the Lucky Egg Fiero had returned earlier, watching the Charmeleon tuck the item into the chain of the pendant swinging round her neck.
Judging by the punches that it was throwing in the air, Tanya could guess that it wanted a battle. Precisely the reason Saphira was out before her instead of Angelus, who could be toppled by the strong Fighting type within seconds. Her Charmeleon had a move, however, that caused many to rue the day they came across Tanya. "It wants a fight huh? Saphira, give it a heck of a lot of fight with Dragon Rage!" the girl ordered with an awkward flick thanks to her Buneary being held tightly against her stomach. Saphira nodded quickly to her trainer and then faced down the pig monkey, eyes going serious.
Opening her mouth, the crimson lizard focused the heat from her gut and energy from her body into a burning mass of purple and yellow. It was hard to tell if the ball was made of fire or energy, but that was the least concern of the attack. Saphira leaned forwards and breathed out hard, sending a shocking pulse at the Mankey, hoping to strike first.

(OOC: I'm sorry Latani, short Post is short >.<)This battle wasn’t actually about to last long. Saphira Unleashed bluish yellow fire that quickly took Mankey out, covering it in the hot fiery mess. Mankey, once it was able to move again, skittered away. Saphira gave the pig monkey a last glance before turning back to Tanya. That was way to easy for her, with the help of Dragon rage of course. “Been down this road again and again, don’t know where do go but I’ll always be ahead….Hm…those don’t seem to be the words.” A man about Tanya’s age sat not too far away, just over some bushes, A Vulpix jumping playfully at his side. Now, Tanya could go either way with this. She was lost, and this man seemed to know this area well, by the looks of his clean clothing he had been to town not too long ago. She could ask him the way to town. On the other hand, she could challenge him and his Vulpix to a battle. Maybe she could even do both. It was up to her. ______________________________________________________ InfoWild Mankey was defeated! Saphira grew to Level 19 and earned +1 happiness! [/i] There is a boy on the path who might know the way to town! Ask for Directions or a battle? (Dani note: Saph gained 3 levels cause of her egg and only having 4 levels over the Mankey P;)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Dealing with the Mankey had been ridiculously easy, thanks to Saphira's deadly attack. Crisped and definitely a little more worse for the wear, the primate took off as soon as it could, leaving Tanya to blink once. Her Charmeleon snorted, looking pleased with her work before tromping over to her trainer and handing back the experience boosting Lucky Egg. The girl accepted it awkwardly, shifting Angelus to her shoulder.
"Good work Saphy," Tanya praised the lizard, who grinned in reply before she was recalled back into her ball. Straightening up and tucking the ball into the pocket of her sweatshirt jacket and looking around. Angelus yawned, jingling as she shifted around on her trainer's shoulder.
After a few steps her PokéGear beeped, alerting her to the fact it had service again. Good, she had a way out of here. Quickly flipping open the device that was strapped to her left wrist, Tanya called up the map program and scanned the quickest path back to Route 33, which wasn't far from where she stood. Pleased, Tanya flipped over to the phonebook and saw she'd missed a call from Fulton. A frown caused her eyebrows to crease as she switched off the gear and made a mental note to call him back. Perhaps he'd read the scathing note she'd left with his key and wanted to apologize or come up with some lame excuse.
(“Been down this road again and again, don’t know where do go but I’ll always be ahead… Hm…those don’t seem to be the words.”) The sound of someone so close seemed to startle her. What was it with things spooking her lately? Tanya blamed it on the weather and the mysterious quality of being somewhere new, a place she'd not yet explored thoroughly. If her PokéGear hadn't gotten its service back, she might have been able to ask the man for directions...
However, he had a Vulpix jumping near him, and it was obviously his. There was little doubt, as Vulpix were rarely seen in the wild, let alone encountered in these parts. Angelus hadn't gotten any training yet, and one quick battle couldn't hurt before she attempted to get to Azalea before the weather turned foul again. Clearing her throat quietly, Tanya effortlessly strolled over to the stranger and stopped several feet from him, not wanting to cause any undue alarm.
Angelus seemed to sense what her trainer wanted and hopped off of her shoulder, landing and sweeping into a neat bow before straightening up. "Excuse me... I don't mean to interrupt you, and if I am, I'm sorry. But I'm doing a bit of training around here before I go to town and I was wondering if you could battle me and my Buneary real quick," Tanya asked politely, her green eyes shimmering. There was no need to be charming - only be her usual, easygoing self. The last thing she wanted was to attract more male attention, which she was quite sick of the thanks to the past week she'd had.
