Sandy Katayko Can't you see me standin' here... ------------------------------------------------ As Sandy’s cousin let her off in Goldenrod City, Sandy could instantly smell the salty port, and quietly sighed to herself. This place was huge. The girl had always been from the small town areas, and even back in Hoenn, Lilycove City had always scared her, being from Fortree. She held her breath for a minute in an attempt to regain her wits. Once she had calmed down, she decided to tour Route 34. Lenny hadn’t dropped her off there like she wanted, so she hoped that it would be a lot better out there, with less people.
Muru and Scatter followed after Sandy, both seeming to sympathize with the fact that she just had trouble coping in the large city. Scatter butted her legs with his head to steady her as she bumped into yet another person. Muru was glad when they finally made it to the route.
<Sheesh, with the way she was walking I thought she expected to fall into a drainage pipe or something!> Scatter shook his head, his paw steps light as he kept pace after Sandy.
<Sandy just isn’t used to big city life.> Scatter answered with a yawn. Sandy suddenly turned when they were far enough away from the Goldenrod gates.
“Alright you two, now, the entire team has a lot training to do, so we have to make every second we have count today.” Muru gave a nod and Scatter trotted up to Sandy’s side. For Muru as well as Scatter, this was a whole new adventure, and the group wouldn’t really be sure what kinds of trainers or Pokemon were waiting for them.

The further you got from the Goldenrod gates, the more Pokemon you'd be able to find. Unlike the giant forest that provided great enough challenge but not enough Pokemon, the hills and grasses swarmed and rustled with critters under and over, all around the plains. Enough Pokemon to create somewhat of an untouched utopia. Most people wanted to get to the bustling streets of Goldenrod, which meant the Pokemon were literally untouched and wild as they came. This Pokemon here was no exception. It was a rowdy Pokemon at that. The Ponyta's hooves pounded against the ground, creating tiny cuffs of ground where the piercing feet pounded into the ground. Fire streamed from it's neck and fire blazed for a tail. No fire Pokemon were found in the Ilex. To be honest, there wasn't a big variation of Pokemon when it came to Ilex, but out here was an eye opening experience. The Ponyta watched trainers pass by everyday, but this blonde trainer caught it's attention. TA! It let out a whinny and charged around the grass, circling Sandy. It was energetic and wished for nothing more than a battle. Why not satisfy it's cravings? Warning! Wild Ponyta (Lv. 17) [Engage] or [Flee]?

Sandy Katayko Can't you see me standin' here... ------------------------------------------------ Sandy jumped a bit when the Ponyta suddenly appeared in front of them. It seemed like the creature wanted to battle. Scatter touched his nose gently to his trainer’s leg, making the already jumpy girl relax. Sandy sighed gently, allowing Scatter’s closeness to calm her. Her heart was already beating rapidly from all the activity, something she wasn’t used to, and the Ponyta had just startled her further.
“So…you want a battle, do you?” Sandy questioned it once she found her words. Muru was quick to limp forwards, claiming the battle before Sandy could choose another. Sandy looked down at her, but it was clear that she wasn’t going to back out of this. Scatter purred.
<Relax Sandy, she can handle it.> Sandy seemed to know that herself, but back in New Bark Town, they never had to handle a Ponyta. She had to admit though, Ponyta were beautiful creatures.
“Okay Muru, try a tackle, and be careful of its hooves!” She warned. Muru broke into the light jog Scatter had showed her so she wouldn’t hurt her leg. She knew this Ponyta was twice her size, but it didn’t seem to phase her.

Moving with the admittedly a bit lopsided jog that she could manage despite her leg, Muru headed away from Sandy, even as the energetic Ponyta continued to circle. She was confident- not necessarily that she could win the battle, but that she could at the very least put in a strong performance. A battle to make Sandy proud of her. The ponyta, on the other hand, was concerned with only one thing- having a good fight. On seeing that it was the fluffy brown pokemon that came out to meet it, and not the other fire-type, the pony pokemon was a bit dismayed- challenging another fire-type would always be interesting. And this fuzzy thing looked like it might burn up especially easily what with all the fur and floof. Still, a battle was a battle. The equine pokemon paused in its circling for a moment to prance in place, then turned and rushed the slower-moving eevee. Muru was forced to stop, shying back as the pale-orange pokemon charged her dead on- only to stop with its head lowered moments before it could impact her. That didn’t stop the fiery mane from flowing, though, and the flames along the pony pokemon’s neck seemed to gutter briefly, spitting out tiny flecks of flame that sprayed all around the fox pokemon. Muru squeaked a little as the airborne embers scorched small black spots on her fur, a few touching skin, but the pain wasn’t anything too bad- her leg had unquestionably hurt worse, and it didn’t feel like any sort of lasting injury was inflicted despite the discomfort of the burning sensation. As the ponyta started moving again, raising its head and starting to canter right over the smaller pokemon, Muru saw an unusual opportunity- and took it. Curling her lame leg into her body, the eevee coiled the other three- and then launched herself into the ponyta’s underside as the taller pokemon made to pass overhead! The result was far more impressive than expected. Muru smacked into the pony pokemon’s underside, causing its hind legs to jump just as it was raising one foreleg. Abruptly unbalanced, the fire pokemon not only took the hit hard, but actually performed a flying faceplant, landing on its jaw and shoulder and skidding a short way from its own momentum. Muru looked back to her trainer for Sandy’s reaction as the pony pokemon raised its head, trying to shake the stars from its eyes.

Sandy Katayko Can't you see me standin' here... ------------------------------------------------ Muru certainly surprised Sandy with her critical hit. She knew right off the bat that a hit like that was not supposed to hit the Ponyta that hard, so Muru sure did do something right. Scatter flicked an ear, a pleased expression on his face as he watched her. The soothe bell around her collar jingling as Muru turned to Sandy’s pleased voice.
“That was awesome Muru! I don’t think Scatter could have done better himself!” Scatter butted her legs playfully with his head.
<Watch what you’re saying, I’m still stronger!> he purred. Sandy smiled at him, silently thanking him for his good sense of humor as Muru looked super pleased with herself. Anxiety forgotton for now, swept away by her excitement, Sandy called out to Muru once again.
“Alright Muru, use Tackle again, and try to keep it where it is!” Ponyta were Pokemon she barley saw, and maybe catching one would be useful for later days. Scatter watched the horse, giving it a silent warning. He wouldn’t hesitate to defend Muru if things got too out of hand, but he was hoping nothing did go wrong as he watched Muru limp towards the other creature. That would just totally kill her pride.

Lifting itself off the ground after that powerful Tackle attack from Muru, the Ponyta surely didn't appear to be as impressed as her trainer did. Snorting a hot stream of steam out from it's nostrils, the flaming horse rolled back up onto it's hooves with great difficulty. Once it's stood proud on all four hooves once again, it pulled it's shout down towards the ground, trying it's best to rub off renegade bits of dirt and grass that had rudely stuck themselves to the side of it's face. Slowly turning, it faced Sandy, it's once energetic and playful dark chestnut eyes now looking a bit more serious.
Knowing fully well that half of it's body was spotless while the other half landed on the ground, the lone Ponyta increased the might of the flames which ran across it's back, disintegrating any filth that had decided to make a home on it's body. Letting out another fierce snort, the flaming horse noticing the limping Eevee staggering back in for another attack. Well that wouldnt do at all, not with how humiliated the poor horse felt after being tackled to the ground in the previous round. Fire had always been a nice way to warn and back off anything that dared try to get forceful with it in the past but this time it seemed the Ponyta had to be the more forceful and physical one.
Pulling itself back onto it's hind legs and flailing it's front ones manically in the air, the Ponyta let out a more threatening neigh before moving into a strong gallop. With it's many hooves charging towards Muru, the little creature had little choice but to slide to a halt. Although things weren't as they seemed, at first. Either returning to it's playful nature or being an evil tease, the Ponyta began to trot around the tiny Eevee, eyeing up the creature and thinking to itself just how much the last attack hurt. Then, turning so that it's back was facing Muru, the horse lifted it's hinde legs and with a swift buck, kicked the Eevee off to one side. Rolling multiple times until eventually grinding to a halt, the fluffy creature lifted it's head only to grit her teeth with worried wide eyes. It seemed Muru had flinched, too scared to attack back this time around.

Sandy Katayko Can't you see me standin' here... ------------------------------------------------ Sandy backed up at the dirt that had kicked up from the Ponyta’s stomp, and at this point, she felt bad for her poor Eevee. She looked really tired. Sandy kneeled over and took a super potion from her pack. Muru looked at her for a minute, then looked away. Scatter gave her a warning glance, telling her it was a bad idea to reject the potion after all. She pricked her ears and smelled the potion as she limped over to Sandy. Sandy smiled warmly before spraying the super potion on all her wounds, her leg area the most. When she was done, she stood up.
“Alright girl, let’s try this again okay?” Muru looked up at her and flicked her fluffy tail before jogging back onto the battle field, feeling ready to go. She knew now that the potion was still drying, that Ponyta had an open attack, but she wasn’t going to let it take her down. After a moment or so more of a wait, Sandy cleared her throat.
“Muru, let’s try a tackle again!” the blonde ordered. Muru nodded, letting her trainer know as soon as the potion dried, that it was what she would do, and hopefully she’d get it this time.

Thinking it had got the adorable little Eevee on the ropes, it was clear the Ponyta had a bit more stagger in its step. Prancing around as it paced up and down its allotted area, it knew it had to deal out one more diamond hooved stomp to allow itself to run back in the wild plains once more. Digging at the floor, it was readying its attack when it stopped in a panic. The blonde haired trainer had used some sort of spray and restored health to the fatigued animal. Snorting even louder, the fires on the horse's back seemed to grow wilder as if signifying its disappointment. Had everything it had fought so hard for up until now been for naught? Rearing back on its hind legs, the horse rallied its forelegs and let out a mighty neigh, determined to restore its advantage in this battle. Landing forwards with a heavy thud, it thundered off on all of its legs as the blazing horse grew ever closer. This charge was a lot like the ones it had performed before except this one had a lot more urgency behind it. Considering how much health Muru had recovered, it needed to make up for lost time. Getting within striking distance, the horse leapt up into the air and with an accurate spin in the air manoeuvred itself around so that its diamond hard hooves came mercilessly down on poor Muru. Slamming her hard enough into the flooring that a small crater of impact appeared, the Ponyta wasn't quite finished. Snorting out a headstrong burst of flames from its large nostrils, the horse span around again so that its rear faced Muru. In most cases, this was a terrible battle practice as it meant that the enemy had free reign to do as they pleased but the Ponyta wasn't going to give Sandy and her team any such opportunity. As soon as it had swivelled around, the horse bucked out its hind hooves and did a repeated stomp. The power of this attack dwarfed everything it had thrown at Sandy's Pokemon from before and made poor Muru yelp out in a terrible pain. Proceeding to return to its part of the battlefield, the Ponyta's swagger like stomping seemed to annoy Muru who was now recovering. Barely able to go forward thanks to the limp in her leg, the tenacious Eevee somehow chased after it, barely able to keep up with speed with it but nevertheless, as the Ponyta turned to observe what was going on, it was greeted with a hefty tackle to its shins, sending it off balance. Muru may have been drastically wounded but she wasn't going to let that get her down. Wild Battle

Sandy Katayko Can't you see me standin' here... ------------------------------------------------ Sandy ran out to hold Muru up as the poor little creature nearly keeled over. She wasn’t doing well, and Sandy knew she’d have to end this as quickly as she could. As Sandy stood up to take care of looking for a Great Ball, Scatter padded over, grabbing Muru’s tan mane with his teeth to try and steady her. Muru continued to stagger to stay up.
“Here we go!” Sandy pulled the Greatball from her bag quickly, dusting off the Sphere that looked like it hadn’t been used in a little while.
“Alright, don’t give me any trouble…Great ball, go!” She quickly tossed it at the Ponyta, now only able to hope that Muru wouldn’t have to fight anymore. Scatter watched the Ponyta as it was sucked inside. Over the last year or so he had been with her, Scatter tended to get as tense as Sandy during a capture’s critical moments.

Muru was finally put at ease as both Sandy and Scatter rushed to her side. This Ponyta had caught her off guard by making her flinch previously and it gave the fiery horse the upper hand, or hoof in this case. She was just pleased that her final Tackle had landed successfully, maybe now the horse would be able to be captured. Feeling faint, the tiny Eevee sat on her back legs comfortably, Scatter's nose supporting her from behind. Then, looking up to her trainer, just watched as the blue and red ball from tossed from her hand and approached the Ponyta at great speed. It wasn't just Muru who was tired either, the Ponyta also started to snort heavily from it's nostrils. It was only a matter of time before the bright light beamed the Pokemon inside and made sure it stayed there with it's more secure locks.

Sandy Katayko Can't you see me standin' here... ------------------------------------------------
Ponyta Name: Spirit Gender: Male Level: 17 Attacks: Tackle, Ember, Flame Wheel, Stomp Ability: Flash Fire Nature/Personality: Spirit is one of the most rebellious Ponyta you’ll ever meet. Though he has been captured, he has a tendency to try and act wild. He is free spirited and doesn’t really like listening to what his trainer had to say. Sandy is attempting to saddle train him, but that isn’t working very well either, with his attitude.
--
Sandy sighed in relief when the ball finally clicked shut. The Ponyta already had a solid spirit, she was sure of that much. Muru chirped happily, feeling stronger already. The day was young, and there was still so much more training to be done. Scatter noted Sandy’s nervous attitude towards being in the city had gone away for now, replaced by the thrill of battle.
“Alright..let’s take a breather for a minute, that was a hard fight for you, wasn’t it Muru?” Muru snorted, bounding up and down at Scatter’s paws.
<Please, that thing didn’t stand a chance!>Scatter suppressed an amused purr and flicked his tail.
<Didn’t look like that from where I was sitting.> Sandy laughed as Muru butted Scatter’s legs with her head, as if to prove she were stronger. Sandy knew that normally something came at them as soon as she chose to relax, so she didn’t get too comfortable, and was almost even waiting for something to happen as Muru tried to get Scatter to wrestle with her.

Having lurked beneath the undergrowth, cautiously watching Sandy's battle against the Ponyta, a pair of very judgmental black dotted eyes were watching her. Even when the blonde sat down with her two Pokemon, it continued to stare, watching and waiting for the perfect time to make itself known. For a few moments, it teared it's never blinking gaze away from Sandy and instead looked at her Pokemon, the energetic Eevee trying to stir up some sort of playful wrestle with the Delcatty. It looked like so much fun but if the Pokemon were to go out looking like it did, there was no doubt the girl would run off screaming. Not many girls seemed to like this pink blob... Ooh, but many liked fluffy canine and feline looking things!
Having an amazing idea, the stalking Pokemon decided to stare at Muru for a few moments, learning it's form and as if by magic, began to morph into a perfect carbon copy of Sandy's Eevee! Looking down at it's paws, the Ditto was incredibly impressed with itself. If only it could see that it's face still wore the same dopey grin and not that akin to an Eevee. Emerging from the tall grass regardless, the Ditto now transformed as an Eevee, approached Sandy's group and without introducing itself, merely went up to Scatter and headbutted it with it's own head, thinking that this was some sort of friendly custom in Sandy's group since Muru was doing it.
Only, as the feline turned his head, the Ditto didn't seem all that convinced. The group, no matter how cute, were actually quite intimidating up close, they had just defeated a Ponyta of course. But the Ditto was nervous, it's transformation slowly failing as it became a pink blob once again. Twitching nervously, it turned to Sandy, bracing itself for her to scream and call her gross, or something.
A wild Ditto (Level 16) has appeared! Select a Pokemon to use in battle?

Sandy Katayko Can't you see me standin' here... ------------------------------------------------ Sandy seemed to be right on her instincts as a new thing appeared from the fog. At first glance, it appeared to be an Eevee as it butted into Scatter’s legs. Scatter, startled by the small creature, stumbled forwards, giving Sandy a view of its face. It looked quite contorted, and Sandy glanced back and forth from Muru, back to the other creature.
“What in the world?” Sandy removed her Pokedex, something she didn’t use to often from her bag, and held it up to check to see if this was really just a seriously stange Eevee she was looking at.
“Ditto, the Transform Pokémon. Ditto has the ability to reconstruct its entire cellular structure into whatever it sees.” Sandy raised an eyebrow slightly at this, a little confused.
“….We didn’t have these guys in our region, that’s really weird!” Sandy admitted. Muru however was bristling beside her on the ground.
<Don’t let it copy me, let’s battle!> She insisted. Scatter looked down at the Ditto and sighed.
<Don’t be so hasty Muru.> Muru wasn’t listening to him though, limping into place in front of Sandy. Instantly, Sandy knew she wanted to battle. She shook her head.
“No Muru we-“ realizing there would be no way to get through to the little hard head, she called out.
“Fine, use tackle Muru!” Muru hobbled forwards, soon on her way to go clash with the stupid copycat of a Ditto. She’d teach it to copy her!

The Ditto flinched as Sandy took out her Pokedex, it's head curling to one side in confusion as a strange, robotic voice spoke out from the contraption. Itching the side of it's face, it wasn't just the trainer who seemed bemused by it's presence. The Eevee is had just intimidated really didn't look all that happy and the Delcatty it tried to playfully headbutt wasn't exactly welcoming it to the group with open paws. Guessing that transforming into trainers Pokemon and copying what they did to one another wasn't accepted here, the Ditto braced itself for what was to happen next. For whatever reason, it always aimed to approach female trainers, hoping one would just accept it for it's unique ability. Unfortunately it always ended up with a handbag to the face, a scream or a Pokemon battle. The way Muru stepped forward could only mean a fight was about to take place.
Gulping, the Ditto accepted it's fate, staring blankly at the adorable Eevee who seemed to have a strange limp. Remaining grounded it one place as the fluffy brown creature approached as fast as she could, it dove headfirst into the Ditto but it didn't expect what was about to happen. When colliding with the creature, Muru went straight through it's gooey body and popped out the other side. Horrified at the feeling of it's squishy body, she turned to look over her shoulder to make sure she wasn't imagining things. But sure enough, the Ditto just sat there and with the perfect hair sample now in it's possession, the pink Pokemon was able to transform. Morphing it's body into a carbon copy of Muru again, the Ditto checked over itself. With the information running through it's head, the gooey creature had temporarily learnt the same moves as Muru and next time round, it would be ready to hit back.

Sandy Katayko Can't you see me standin' here... ------------------------------------------------ Sandy watched as the creature shifted forms to become Muru once more. She felt sort of bad for it. It kind of seemed like it was trying to make friends with them, and Muru had forced her to throw it into a battle. Sighing, she thought about her regret for a moment longer, and made up her mind. If she had the chance, she’d capture it.
“Muru, don’t let your emotion get the best of you, it’s only playing a game. Use Tackle again!” she called out. She was getting tired of using only this move with Muru, but it wasn’t as if they had much of a choice. Muru only knew that attack when it came to being on the offensive, so it was indeed the only attack they could even use. Muru didn’t seem to mind though.
She dragged her twisted leg along as she tried to get to the Ditto, making her way in a light jog. Scatter kept his eyes on the Ditto, watching it intently to see if it would have some type of sneaky come back. If it had prepared one, Muru, focused on one thing, wouldn’t find out what it was until she got there.
