It was that time of year again. After she had finished paying a Vendor she had found on the way to National Park for a sweet treat, a Funnel Cake, she could see that park not to far from where she was. In her arms rested a small blue ball of curly looking vines, but upon closer inspection, one could see the eyes peering out and the red feet that were a little less visible since Sandy was carrying it. Lily the Tangela, that was who Sandy had chosen, and she stuck to her choice even after someone told her it might not be the best one.
The Tangela gripped the Funnel cake with a couple of vines while ripping off a piece with another. Sandy realized she never figured out how Lily even ate Funnel Cake, and watched as her tangles encircled the piece of cake and it disappeared. Now, she didn't want to know so much anymore. Smiling cheerily, Sandy turned the ball around so she was facing her.
"Remember girl, this isn't about if we win or lose, I just want you to have some fun alright? Don't you think to much into it." Without much of a word, Lily waved a vine or two before going back to her beautiful cake. She had a one track mind, Sandy could already tell. As she arrived, she realized that she was about the fourth person there, as three of them were already in the park and it looked as if they were here for the contest too. A woman who to Sandy, looked scary and rather unapproachable, stood not too far away, so she sort of veered off to the side. A boy with rather wild green hair was in another area, but she wasn't sure who he was. The next person she saw was Joey, someone considered a good friend of hers. But since she had to prepare with Lily, she waved at him and kept moving.
It wasn't long before the others arrived. Among them she spotted a girl who was about fifteen or sixteen, though she dressed as if she were plenty younger, Zack, someone she remembered from her time at the beach but not all that well. Tanya, who she had managed a wave to. At least some of her friends were about today. A boy and his Pikachu, and a guy she thought she knew with an Aron. A lot of them had electric types with them, and she felt silly with the only grass type, but it was okay. Once the rules were explained and they were handed their Sport balls, Sandy walked off on one of the paths with Lily, on the lookout for anything to come their way.
