Do you wish guaranteed actions moved a little faster?
Would you like to take control of describing the flow of your battles?
Do you find yourself meticulously planning each round before you put out that RP post?

INTRODUCING...
Costar Mode
Costar Mode
An opt-in mode now available for any member to try out and can be toggled on/off at any time.
Costar mode places the trust in you to handle all of the calculations in your thread. This means all the battle, EXP, and capture calcs are in your hands; mods only need to introduce your encounters and declare the moves that the NPCs use.
Why would you want this?
Well...
- If you're handling the calcs then mods may get to your thread a little quicker since they just need to supply the NPC actions and RP.
*You describing the flow of battle is also a great way to fill in those egg word counts!
- If the thing you're trying to catch has a 100% capture rate, you don't have to wait for a Mod to RNG it -- you can just catch it immediately and complete your encounter right away.
- Opponent frozen? Asleep? Using Rollout, Dig, Fly, or Uproar? Hit with Encore? If the NPC is locked into an action for some number of turns, you can speed through all those rounds in a single post!
*Note, there must be no available actions the NPC can take; including switching out.How does it work?
- Mods are still in charge of all NPC actions and spawning encounters.
- You are still expected to declare your moves first before a mod declares what the NPC is doing
- You use the onsite dice roller for all RNG
- Technicians, you can make updates immediately as you go along
So the general flow becomes:
Mod starts encounter
> member posts declaring their actions, then the mod posts w/ NPC actions
> member does calcs + declares actions, then the mod again
... etc until encounter is over
If interested, simply append [Costar] to your thread title to let mods know.
Note: this mode is incompatible with Bike mode.
