Name: Kaito Akimoto
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Trainer Type:
- Was a Schoolboy
- Currently a Trainer
- Wants to be a Researcher / (Computer) Scientist
Hometown: Violet City
Appearance: Kaito looks like the typical nerd, though he looks more cooler than geeky. He has messy medium length pale-blue hair and gravy-blue eyes, and is rarely seen without his glasses or digital watch. He has a lanky like build whilst standing at around 6 feet, usually wearing a collared white polo shirt and blue jeans, along with black sneakers with white laces and outline.
He wears a black belt around his waist, where most of his smaller items in his inventory are attacked, such as Poke’balls. When travelling, he will carry a black backpack, where he usually has his belongings including his laptop that he carries around. His expression seems stoic and distant at first, but at rare times he will show a more light and positive face.
Personality: Kaito is a somewhat socially awkward person, usually starts off any conversation with polite chit chat for a good first impression before getting more casual about topics. Having been raised in an academic environment, he lacks a certain degree of street smarts and people skills, causing to sometimes to be innocently clumsy though his intentions do mean well. In battle he is calculating yet cool and relaxed even when things look grim, which is his approach to most situations.
Most of the decisions he makes he did to benefit him in the future, for example choosing Poke’mon that would evolve into ones that would cater to most situations such as travelling. He is heavily against Poke’mon abuse, and wanted to go as far as have schools do simulated computer battles instead of using real Poke’mon to help teach young trainers in the academy to gain experience. He believes that Poke’mon are human equals and should be treated like family and are not tools, leading him on a natural vendetta against Team Rocket who are infamous for their methods. When confronted by people like that, he becomes not angry, but deadly cold in personality, but wouldn’t let himself sink to their level to get his point across
History: Kaito’s parents are Poke’mon researchers, so naturally had little time to end to their son like most parents would due to long work hours. They enrolled Kaito to the academy in Violet City and from their research, insisted that he stay an extra 8 years till his 18th birthday because by then he would be ‘mature enough’ to properly handle Poke’mon with care that they deserve.
So Kaito spent most of his time at the Poke’mon Academy, familiarising and studying all there was to know about Poke’mon. He was curious about his parent’s research as well, and hoped to help them one day. However as he was now, he did not have enough knowledge, he’d be useless he couldn’t even master the basics. Focused on such goals, he didn’t socialise a lot and was an outcast from the others who would occasionally bully him.
Things didn’t go well though after those in his age group graduated and started their journeys, he was already singled out but returning students who came to visit and show their progress went to pick on him again. Kaito was always the oldest student there and spent most of his time assisting the teacher, further making him a target of bullying remarks later.
Eventually he had pretty much memorised all that there is to learn, and from there he found solace that he was the most prepared he could be compared to the others. Not only that, but he used a lot of technology to help him out as well. For example having a laptop full of information on Poke’mon he gathered himself for reference, acting as an additional guide besides his Poke’dex. (I will be using the online resources for reference IC, but not for meta-gaming).
He now starts on his Poke’mon journey to experience things first hand, aware that not all things can be calculated as like life itself. From doing real field work by becoming a great Poke’mon trainer, he was would fill in the gap which was his lack of experience. He would learn everything there was to know in the outer world, and he would keep all his findings, which coexist with the goal of completing his Poke’dex.
From his experience, he had experienced among students and Poke’mon alike, further emphasising that what his parents said that trainers were too young to handle Poke’mon being true. He wishes to revolutionaries how people learn about Poke’mon and even hopes to raise the age limit where kids get their first one. He looks up to people like Bill and those involved with the PC system, fascinated by the technology and how it worked and used that as a basis for a battle simulation where no real Poke’mon were used for teaching purposes.

- Complete the Poke’dex
- Become a Poke’mon Computer Scientist
