Ares and the duo had gotten away, although Rhoan was pretty exhausted right now. Her feet were dragging, so when there was another opportunity to ride the bull, she was all over it. Ares walked along while Rhoan sat on top, adjusting saddle bags and tightening ropes to make sure the saddle didn't fall off. It was pretty shitty though, she needed to get a real one pretty soon. Perhaps with all that cash she'd earned in that heist last night?
What's in those, anyway...
She wondered, remembering the cannister or two she had to pick up. How many was there? Meh, she didn't remember. Ah well.. She remembered Morecambe being there, the idiot. Knocked him out with one punch, didn't even get to hear the rest of her intimidating snarls. Knowing him though, he'd show up somewhere else... Perfect. Next town is Azalea. She murmured, kicking the Tauros into full gallop. [/blockquote]

Setting her sights on new territory to get a foothold in, Rhoan cut an impressive sight along the the far winding stretch of verdant that was more commonly known as Route 32. Arguably perhaps one of the longest routes in the entirety of Johto, perhaps even the rest of the world, it was a thoroughly long trek with little to no in between. The odd sign of life from juvenile campers and hopeful fisherman dotted along the fishing jetty were a given at any point in the day but aside from that, there was truly nothing much else. At one end was the entry way to Violet City itself but on the other far end was a foreboding sight in the form of a craggy looking mountain. Known as Union Cave, it impeded progress somewhat but residents of Johto in years long since past had managed to excavate their way through in order to give safe passage to those not so hiking inclined. Which was ironic as the hiking side of the mountain was still very much a popular sport engaged by daredevil climbers. Speaking of daredevils, there was on such soul who had been tailing Rhoan since she had started to make her long spanning journey. Clearly, it wasn't any human trainer. The exact speed Ares was ploughing away at was impossible for even the fastest of marathon runners to keep up with and there were no other mobile trainers riding their own Pokemon in hot pursuit. Even if there was, it was hardly likely Morecambe on a Torterra would be even close to the meaning of speedy. Instead, the mystery pursuer was none other than a Pokemon. More specifically, a flying bird that was following amazing well in the skies above. Flapping its short, little wings, the Pidgey appeared to have some sort of inexplicable death wish about following Rhoan. Perhaps it was enraptured by her hair. Perhaps it liked the look of Ares and wanted to be friends with it. Perhaps Rhoan's attire tickled its fancy. PERHAPS it merely was looking for a tough looking trainer to bludgeon it into next week. The way of some Pokemon was largely unexplainable at even the best of times but before any more deliberation could be given, the Pidgey span around with a slick aerial manoeuvre. Speeding downwards, it headed straight towards Rhoan as it angled its beak for a peck. This Pokemon really was asking for it! Encounter
A suicidal Pidgey (Level 12) has appeared! Please select a Pokemon for battle. OOC: Seeing as you didn't explicitly state where Rhoan is, i'll assume she's galloping along on Route 32 and you're wanting to train up Ares or something. Either way, apologies if I interpreted wrongly.

((Close! On the route, but after this battle, going to go to the Union Cave to train up Ares with his bulldoze. Hopefully that'll take out some of the rock Pokemon quick, if i'm not mixing up my types))
As Ares galloped along, Rhoan soon got accustomed to the way the bull moved, jumped, and soon she was riding him effortlessly. The saddle rubbed her legs a little bit, but she could buy or make a new one when she had a bit more money. For now this would have to do. But it sure made for good travel, and fast. Nothing had approached them, except the only thing possible at the moment, a flying type.
The Pidgey was performing some aerial turn, and then headed straight for her. She let her breath out of her teeth in a hiss. Bird's got guts. Let's zap 'em out. Rhoan smirked, nudging her back to the side to wake up Reaver, who was resting in her shirt. The bug crawled up her back and popped out of her collar, resting on her shoulder of her windbreaker. Despite the summer air, the wind was cutting at her icily. That bird's got guts, so let's use your Electroweb and see how quick it drops. Besides, it has the advantage in the air. [/blockquote]

Reaver sat quietly on Rhoan's shoulder, her multifaceted eyes sparkling in the sunlight as she watched the bird approaching at high speed. Was this avian suicidal? It wouldn't be able to do anything, even at the speed it was travelling. But at least she could get some good target practice in. Jumping down to stand on Ares's broad back, Reaver aimed her rear in the air, narrowing her eyes as she focused on the bird. As the Pidgey drew ever closer, she suddenly fired out a stream of webbing, quickly weaving it into a large web and sending a jolt of electricity down the webbing as she launched it skyward. The Pidgey made as if to swerve out of the way, but it was moving too fast and the net was too large. The small bird smacked into the center of the net, shrieking as the webbing swirled around it and discharged the energy stored within. The Pidgey stood absolutely no chance, and the now unconscious bird dropped like a rock, lost far behind as Ares continued to gallop on without pausing.

The Pidgey fell with a thud, but it wasn't exactly close enough to do anything about it. Hopefully no one ran over it... oh wait. She was the only one with transportation at this point. Reaver scuttled back into Rhoan's jacket and nestled at the small of her back, so Rhoan gave a few pats to Ares to slow him down. The bull snorted, but obeyed as he slowed his gallop to a nice walk. Rhoan slid off the side and looked around. The path had ended, and they were now at a cave. After tinkering with a map, Rhoan confirmed their location.
Looks like this is Union Cave. Leads up to Azalea... She concluded, and walked Ares into the dark. Lets see what we find in here, hmm? Maybe something for you to take down? She wondered, wanting to get some training in for the bull before they arrived at the city. Her team was pretty well rounded out, but she wanted to be sure there were no weak links. [/blockquote]

Zubats were certainly not a rare site to see in caves. They were almost as common as Pidgeys or Rattatas were in the grasslands. The Zubats were perched up on the roof of the mouth of the cave as Rhoan was entering it. They seemed to be at peace here, occasionally giving off a shout or two to a nearby neighbor so they could communicate, or even alarm to another that they were nearby and not run in to them. However something started to bother the bunch of Zubats as they clumbed together. There was another presence in the beginning of the cave, and soon as the sensation hit the group, they were ready to disperse. The flurry of Zubats began as they started to look for shelter elsewhere. Most of them did not want to come into contact with this human as they flew high above him. However, one was not as shy and bashful as the other ones had been. This one flapped its wings as it flew down to where Rhoan was as the bats started to settle in the frenzy. It seemed to be listening and feeling to see what Rhoan would do. In fact it was quiet curious as it fluttered in place. Maybe it wondered, if he would give it a good battle? Warning! You seemed to have disturbed a group of wild Zubats, and one of them is curious about you (This wild zubat is at level 13). Do you want to battle it? If so please sent out a pokemon!

Upon entering the dark, dank cave, the ceiling and walls immediately flittered to life. At first Rhoan thought it was some sort of illusion, but as her eyes adjusted to the shadows, she saw the wings and tails of the Zubats frittering along to get out of the way of the oncoming threat in the cave. When the horde of cave rodents had dispersed, Rhoan continued on, only to hear one straggler flapping it's wings. She turned to see the hovering bat, but shrugged it off. Meh, not worth it. She muttered, but Ares gave a snort and stamped his hoof.
That gave Rhoan an idea. Yeah, it would probably be a good idea to let the bull go apewild all over the bat, so she figured it the best course of action. Alright, alright Ares. Give it a Horn Attack. She said, patting the hide of the bull with her hand before it shot off towards the bat. Thankfully it was hovering low, eh? [/blockquote]

The Zubat fluttered closer to where Rhoan stood, eager to 'see' the trainer and her Pokemon. In reality, the bat was blind, but it could still tell where the trainer stood by echolocation. Who needed eyes when you never used them? The bat could also 'see' a large... something standing beside the trainer. Was it a Pokemon? The Zubat let out another bout of high-pitched sound waves, then proceeded to rediscover where everything was. The large thing that had been standing beside Rhoan was bigger now. Or was it closer? The bat couldn't tell. Using its echolocation once again, it almost shrieked as it discovered that the thing was indeed moving, and it was closing in on the bat. There wasn't enough time to 'see' again, and the bat felt an attack hit it dead center. Whatever this Pokemon was, it was strong. The attack knocked the wind out of the bat's lungs and sent the creature flying across the cave.
Luckily, the bat righted itself before almost hitting the wall. Twirling in the air, the bat quickly determined where Ares was before shooting forward. Its wings flapped quickly as it flew, easily traversing the dark cave. Once it was close enough to its opponent, the Zubat tucked its wings and dove, spreading its jaws wide as it approached. The bat struck just above the ring of fur on the Tauros's neck, biting down hard as it felt the contact. Ares snorted in pain, flailing about as he tried to dislodge the bat that had latched onto him.

((Prolly won't matter, but if zubat lives could we incorporate the Intimidate -1 ATK? I've learned to be careful..))
Bats were blind indeed, and it seemed to serve a bit of a one-up for the huntress and her raging bull. Good job, Ares. She praised, running her hand over the little bitemarks. Oh that's nothing, Ares. But does it get you mad? Use it on the field. She chuckled. It felt like she was pep talking an actor, telling him to use the emotions he felt on the stage to help convey them. Ares didn't need anything like that to convey his emotions. His body did that for him.
The bull snorted and reared up on his hind legs, almost dislodging the saddle. Rhoan made a mental note again; Got to get another saddle soon, or Ares will end up losing it. This is almost over, boy-o. You did really good, so let's go for another Horn Attack. Rhoan commanded, watching the bull's hide ripple with anticipation. He reared once more and charged at the bat, hoping to end this with another attack so they could move on. [/blockquote]

Snorting loudly, the Tauros's hooves pawed at the ground before his muscles bunched up. Charging forward, the powerful bull's hooves hammered the ground, each stomp creating a loud vibration of noise that caused the Zubat to have a hard time pinpointing the bull Pokemon. By the time the Zubat managed to identify the Tauros through the many vibrations, it was too late. The Zubat let out a screech of pain as Ares's horns jabbed it right in the chest. The impact sent the Zubat flying back. The Zubat could feel no strength whatsoever in its limbs to upright itself. It could only helplessly sail through the air before smacking the wall painfully. Limply, it tumbled to the ground and and disappeared into the darkness of the cave. Ares lifted his head and let out a triumphant bellow, his tails swishing behind him rapidly, all fired up from the victory. Congrats! Ares gained +3 Lvl for the victory! Ares is now Lvl 15! +1 Happiness Ares is able to learn Pursuit, would you like to delete a move to replace it with?Zubat unable to be captured

(Updating Tackle with Pursuit, thanks.)
The Zubat was nowhere to be seen, and for good reason. Ares had given it something to screech about, all right. The bull's hide rippled with the excitement and adrenaline of the victory, and despite the angry nature of the war creature, he was starting to warm up a bit to the huntress. She was much like a bull herself, charging in and getting the job done. All she did was lack horns. Too bad there weren't female Tauros. Rhoan patted the bull and gave his hide a rub before continuing within the cave.
Maybe we'll just take down a few Zubats or something, that way we can build you up and get to the next town without too much trouble. Besides, we got alot ahead. Rocket shenanigans and gym battles. Hopefully Cayzle and Tyrana'll sweep that, but I need you for other things. You're my tank. She grinned, leading the bull along the path within the cave, both sets of eyes peeled for any sign of life to trample. [/blockquote]

The narrow entrance of the cave slowly seemed to shrink as Rhoan and Ares ventured further into the cave. The cave slowly grew darker and darker as the sunlight that slanted through the entrance couldn't penetrate the abyss any further, blocked by the cave ceiling where sharp stacks of stalagmite hung from, looking like razor sharp teeth. Suddenly, a blinding flash of light erupted throughout the darkness of the cave as well as warmth, which caused many of the cave dwellers hiding in the darkness to scatter in fright. [red]"Whooo!"[/red]came a loud cheer that echoed throughout the cave as the sudden burst of light slowly died down, as well as the instant heat wave. However, there was still a brightness that managed to penetrate the cave's usual darkness. The source was from a flaming torch held by a colorfully dressed man. With his cheeks puffed up with air, he quickly blew at the torch, sending another spurt of fire and light into the air that disturbed some Zubats hanging from the ceiling, all letting out shrieks of surprise and anger as they all flitted away deeper into the cave in order to escape the light and heat of the fire. [red]"Whoa, I scared those Zubats good didn't I Vulpix?"[/red]the man guffawed. Beside him was a fire fox Pokemon, who let out a cry of assent. Her ears pricking up and nose in the air suddenly, she let out another cry, warning her Trainer of an unusual presence. [red]"Hm? What's up Vulpix? Ya spot something?"[/red]the Firebreather asked, glancing around and noticing Rhoan and her Tauros. [red]"Ooh hello there youngster!"[/red]he greeted in a booming voice, sauntering over. [red]"The name's Ray. Did you like my show back there just now? Really somethin' right? I don't see many people around this dark cave. You a Trainer? Cuz if you are, I'd love to see your bull over there fight,"[/red]the Firebreather said with a grin, not really knowing when to stop talking. Beside him, his Vulpix bared her teeth into a growl as her fur began to bristle, eyes narrowed towards the Tauros as if eager to start fighting the bull. Firebreather Ray challenged you to a match! His Vulpix (Lvl 14) was sent out!

Rhoan looked about, resting her hand on the flank of her 'tank'. The cave was dark, and quiet enough to give Rhoan a sense of ease. Instead of brightly colored walls and screaming kid trainers, the terrain made Rhoan feel a bit more at home. However, a bright light further down the path seemed to anger a few Pokemon, causing a wave of Zubat to pass them. Ares snarled, pumping his hooves into the air in attempts to pull one down. It was quiet after that, but soon after another wave passed.
When I find who that is... She snarled under her breath, walking until she was met with the colorful character and his fox companion. He was bright and cheery as his outfit, and made Rhoan sick to her stomach. He fancied a battle though. Rhoan was about to let Tyrana out to let her rip the fox apart, but she wanted to battle Ares. Better training for her bull anyways. Sounds fine by me. She murmured, stepping back. She wasn't much for words. Bulldoze.

Rohan sent out Ares into another battle as it began with the firebreather. The loud noises of the trainers talking seemed to disturb the pokemon in the cave as they fled from the area to avoid being hit or struck by an on coming attack. it wouldn't have been very pleasent for that. Now it left the firebreather and Rohan left alone with their pokemon. Once Ares heard the attack it charged right for the small Vulpix and began to plow straight into it using the Bulldoze attack. The Vulpix went flying in the opposite direction. It let out a sharp cry from the pain as it continued to soar through the air and then landed on the ground nearby. Ares waited a bit to see if the Vulpix got up or not, but it seemed to remain on the ground in a weakened state. The Vulpix refused to get up at this point, exhausted from the supereff ective move. "Wowie! Now that was somethin' you took my Vulpix out in one move. Never seen anythin' like that before. You may be ready to fight the gym leader in the next town over!" Ray suggested as he took out the pokeball to send Vulpix back. The Vulpix returned in a flash of red light as it disappeared from the battle field. "Unfortunately for you I don' have any pokemon left. So that's the end of the battle, I'm afraid. You have strong pokemon with you. I'll admit that. Also here's a cash reward that I owe you." Ray said as he began to search through his pockets and found some loose change that he had and tossed it in Rohan's direction and began to head off towards another part of the cave. Battle
Ray's Vulpix | Level 14| Health : 0/38: 100%Status : Fainted! Could not attack! Rohan's Ares | Level 15| Health : 42/42: 100%Status : Normal Successful Bulldoze! Ares fought Valiently with a one hit knock out and grew two levels! Now he's at level 17! And he earned +2 happiness! Upon defeating FireBreather Ray, he has awarded you with $288 prize money!

Rhoan wasn't entirely sold on the idea of battling the freak in the midst of the cave, but who was she to really change anything? Ares wanted to fight, and the bull did need training... So there she was, watching Ares bulldoze completely over the Vulpix, knocking it out before anything could stir in the cave. There was a moment of silence before the firebreather continued talking. Did he ever stop? Yeah, it was something I guess. She took the praise and patted Ares on the flank, walking past.
She snatched the money fromt he man's hand and nodded. Yeah, that's where i'm heading now. She smirked. If she wanted, she could probably beat the leader with one Pokemon. Ares was doing pretty well, after all... She'd just have to see. C'mon. She hopped on the back of the bull and adjusted the saddle before trotting out of the cave, towards the exit of the cave.
