Post and discuss Pokemon facts here!
Did You Know? A skateboard item was planned for inclusion in Pokémon Gold & Silver?
Did You Know? In the original pilot episode, Clefairy was intended to be Ash's starting Pokémon. Due to a last minute change, the role went to Pikachu.

Did You Know? There is coding left in the original Red and Blue games that suggests there would be a possible battle against Professor Oak?
He would use a team somewhat similar (A few minor differences, like the addition of a Tauros I believe) to the Rival's but with the third form of the unchosen Starter.

Did You Know That Misty's Togepi was actually supposed to be Ash's? Did You Know That Klinklang's Japanese name, Gigigear, is the second Pokémon to have gigig in it's name, the first being Regigigas? Did You Know That the last three Grass-Type starters are based on reptiles? Did You Know That Caterpie and Goldeen have the same cry? Did You Know That when pikachus meet, instead of shaking hands or rubbing noses, they interlock their tails. Did You Know That's Ash Ketchum's voice is actually done by a woman? The same actress who plays Ash, also voices his mother Did You Know That when Poliwag evolves into Poliwhirl, its swirl changes direction. Did You Know That Despite Psyduck's PokeDex entries talking about its headaches and psychic powers, it's not a Psychic type (neither is Golduck) Did You Know That Mareep is an anagram of ampere, the measure of electrical current. Did You Know That Girafarig, Ho-oh, and Eevee are the only Pokemon whose names are Palindromes (spelled the same forwards and backwards)

Did you know... The voice for Ash Ketchum in the Japanese version is done by a woman too (and she voice's Giovanni's Persian too, apparently). It's not that uncommon for actresses to do male anime characters voices in Japan. For example are Edward from Fullmetal Alchemist and Hitsugaya from Bleach both voiced by Romi Park.
