As the evil spirit showed itself Kamikaze began to extend her claws before Marchbaby could say a word. Given her rough past it was no surprise to Marchbaby at all that she wanted to be the one to banish the spirit like she had with all of the Gengar's pawns. Marchbaby did not have any doubts about using her since nothing else he had could match the spirits speed and with the tricks the spirits had pulled on both of them he decided to fight trickery with trickery. Kamikaze had mastered her faint attack by now and he tought there was no better way to end the spirits plan than to use a demon that fought for good despite her unfortunate past. Kamikaze was by no means a blood thirsty maniac but she loved to destroy anything evil at heart without mercy and this Gengar more than fit the bill.

As a dragon apprentice however he very much believed in honor and making a statement to make certain no one in their right mind would question Kamikaze's brutality when the time came. As the young man looked at Gengar he began to speak in a deep tone ready to condemn the spirit. " Evil spirit you are the misguided one. Not only are you at least as crazy and evil as Atropos which is bad enough but to think you actually went and tried this evil plot makes you even worse. Even with your poison in me and Kamikaze you are no match for us. Death will come to us some day but not today especially after giving my word to Flora. Flora is the only spirit in this entire forest that I encountered and I can assure you that I will do anything I can do to help her. So far I have done just that and I will not rest until you burn in hell with those other evil spirits."

As Kamikaze stepped forward ready to strike Marchbaby began speaking again. " You are right about one thing and that is that death shall strike any moment but it shall be you that it will strike for the second time. Not only will this evil be undone when I am done here the forest will bless me with it's grace for destroying you. It is a pity my family's Dratini is not here as I would love to unleash the wrath of a dragon upon you but Kamikaze hits just as hard as most dragons with a speed that even they cannot match. Now Kamikaze show this evil spirit a one way ticket to hell with your Faint Attack." Kamikaze who had been patiently waiting during the speech seemed all to happy to comply as she replied with a "Wea" before charging ahead.

Its body waning and shifting with the surrounding darkness dispersed within the fog, the Gengar soul appeared to take great delight in the defiance that Marchbaby was showing. If there was one thing this evil fiend loved was breaking those who showed resilience. "I tell you what, i'm a fair man. When I was pioneering this forest I was trying to make sure everyone saw a fair deal. If you sacrifice yourself, i'll remove the poison that's festering within that little chickadee. I don't know what you've been told but the only thing that can lift the curse is my own power." Gurning with a toothy grin, it didn't seem all that good of an idea to make such a bargain with a mean spirited ghost as this. Especially considering how bloodthirsty it appeared. Frowning as he proclaimed that he would stand up for the well being of the forest, the Gengar's cheery grin faltered, turning into an angry glare. "Suit yourself. If you're happy to put so much on the line for something that's gonna die anyway, that's fine. Its just a stupid relic of this devil forest..." Flicking its eyes, the ghost inquired. "Tell me, just how bad is the forest in your day? I bet its so overgrown and thick no one can make passage to Goldenrod." Angrily, tensing its facial muscles, the ghost made clear a bit more of its past. "I was cutting this all down so people could make safe passage. But deary little Flora had other ideas. PEH!"

Watching with some intrigue as Kamikaze glinted her sharp claws at it hungering for battle, the spirit looked rather enraged to see a Weavile. "This has got to be some sort of joke... FLORA HAD A WEAVILE AS WELL! You're really starting to make me enraged you righteous prick." Unable to volley any more verbatim at Marchbaby, the Gengar turned to look at the Weavile who stood up to his dastardly ways. Sensing that Kamikaze was a powerful foe, the Gengar took an instant note of her presence and shed light some more on its past. "To think that I would be able to avenge against this a Weavile in this new form as a Pokemon... Hahahaha! Being a human had its perks but this is far more fitting." Getting into a stance, the Gengar appeared to relish being able to consume another soul. "You think you can fend me off like you did when I was alive? I'll show you, Flora and everyone that won't happen again." Watching as Kamikaze raised her claws in preparation for the faint attack, the Gengar rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue. "Oh please, enough with the heroics. Let's see you strike at me. The little whelp Flora was training did the very same when I was alive. I'm sure this time around it'll be a waste of energy."

Keeping his defensive position in place, the Gengar let out a snide cackle as Kamikaze came dashing towards him with incredible prejudice. "Hahaha! Yes! YES! Let the hate flow!" Appearing behind him with a sudden appearance, the Gengar turned just in time for Kamikaze to let out a deft faint attack which tore at the evil fiend's very body. "OH WHAT A WORLD! WHAT A WORLD...! I'm... Unable... To... Go... On...!" Letting his body slowly dissipate, it appeared that the battle had been won. Or so it seemed. Suddenly reconstituting its body back together, it appeared this overlord of the evil spirits plaguing the forest was a cut above the rest. "You absolute fool! Did you think I would waste away so easy! Here! Have a taste of confusion!" Shifting his hands around in a peculiar fashion, it appeared to create a confusing ray. Shoving it forward with a parting of his arms, the confusing ray sped towards Kamikaze before it exploded with an overwhelming sensation of light. With Marchbaby's Weavile now temporarily incapacitated as she dealt with the brunt of the confuse ray, the Gengar turned to look at Marchbaby. This wasn't going to end here.

"Tell me you little vermin, are you really going to disgrace the good name of the Blackthorn clan of dragon tamers!?" Sniggering, the Gengar hoped his words would be enough to sow the seeds of demoralisation against Marchbaby. From when he was a human, the evil spirit could recall tales of an ancient dragon clan living to the north of Johto, in the city of Blackthorn. Using what knowledge he had, surely he would be able to force Marchbaby into backing off. His toothy grin enveloping his face, he spat out. "Or perhaps you are already disgraced. I don't sense a Dragon type on you at all. Pah hah hah hah! I'm truly quaking in my boots." Relishing in the fact that the fight was still going on, the Gengar floated up with some levitation and cackled down at the would be vanquisher of his nefarious schemes. "Haha! I bet you thought I was going to be as weak as all my little lumberjack workers. Think again. I was the toughest sumbitch who kept these forests in check and a little weasel isn't going to phase me. I'll finish you off and then take care of Flora once and for all. That girl has tried my patience long enough!"

As the spirit began to collapse into a puzzle Marchbaby had a sinking feeling that the battle was not over yet. After the tricks the other spirits pulled Marchbaby was only a little surprised to see the spirit rebuild itself back into a normal body. " I should have expected that after tonights events but no matter. It is only a matter of time before you shall meet your fate." As Marchbaby waited to see what trick the spirit would try to regain the upper hand he seemed to have underestimated the lengths it would go to try and win the battle when it's confuse ray left Kamikaze in a state of disarray. He knew that if he kept her out that her claws may prove dangerous but he did not really have a choice but to try.

As the ghost spoke of his clan Marchbaby had an idea as to just how little it knew of them or the training they did. " If you think I will disgrace the Blackthorn clan during this battle then you are more psychotic than I thought. It is true I do not have a dragon type on me at the moment and the reason for that is it would be a waste of a dragon's time to deal with you and your kin. Even my family's Dratini would laugh at this weak effort you have put forward to stop me and my Pokemon from ruining your plans. I would love to have Draco here right now so he could laugh his little blue tail off at your effort but I would not dare take him from our home with how much he loves watching over my family. Anyways I do hope you have something better than these parlour tricks or else you will be in serious trouble with any luck."

As the spirit spoke of wanting to finish off Flora Marchbaby was outraged. Threatening him and Kamikaze was on thing but doing so with Flora was a step too far. He knew she was a wonderful spirit who cared for the forest and he was ready to end this battle as soon as he could. " Kamikaze I know you are still confused but this is a risk we have to take as this evil spirit cannot be allowed to live much longer. I have a feeling that your last attack hurt far more than that abomination is willing to admit. One successful hit is all we need to end this madness. Kamikaze try a Faint Attack and let's see if we cannot end this here."

Vs. Gengar

Marchbaby's continued defiance seemed to aggravate and amuse the Gengar at the same time, a taunting grin lending the ghost a rather devilish look. "Gehehehehe! Fate? You believe in that load of crock? So did that bratty Flora and look where it landed her!" Gengar guffawed, thumping his stomach as he let out a hearty snigger. "Fate is some foolish belief everything has a purpose. My purpose would be to finish what I couldn't as a human, I bet you'd say! FEH! Don't make me laugh. I'm sick of Flora's interference and her 'save the forest' attitude, and if you think your precious little Weavile is going to save you or that tree-loving wench, think again!" The manic grin seemed to disappear in the blink of an eye, Gengar adopting a more menacing glare as Marchbaby changed tack and began speaking of his clan.

The reddish eyes closed for a moment, as if Gengar had simply given up on trying to weedle his way into the trainer's mind. But it was to compose himself, a truly sadistic smile easing into place as Gengar allowed Marchbaby's speech to sink in. He clapped his hands together in a silent mockery of applause, body quaking with barely restrained laughter. "Or maybe your clan thinks giving you a dragon is a waste of time. I remember hearing that only the strongest of tamers were even given a Dragon type. You're doing something wrong if they won't even give you a weak little baby to train up! Gehehehehe!" the ghastly spirit sneered. "PARLOUR TRICKS? Ohohoho, you think that's going to stop me from steamrolling you and your pathetic Weavile? Even if you think you can beat me, the poison my cohorts have infected you with will take you down all the same!"

Kamikaze, despite her woozy thoughts and double vision, uttered a furious hiss at being called pathetic. Gengar's mocking laughter floated through the air, aiding the confused Weavile as she sprang forwards, spurred on by a desire to prove she was far from pathetic and Marchbaby's encouraging words. Gengar watched her approach and snickered, knowing she was more likely to hit a tree than himself in her current state of mind. Floating off to the side as the Weavile came charging in, the vile spirit believed it was enough to ensure a certain victory. But Kamikaze would not be deterred, and in a moment of utter clarity, she lunged behind Gengar and lashed out, her claws slicing clean through his ethereal body. A high pitched wail of fury and despair rang out as the Gengar seemed to burst apart, his voice distorted by losing form. "YOU THINK THIS TRULY IS THE END OF ME!?"

With Gengar's disappearance, the confusion afflicted upon Kamikaze lifted, leaving the Weavile with a clear mind and a sense of deep pride. But if the pair thought they were done with the malicious spirits, a sinister cackle sounding out all around them proved them wrong. "Such a trivial waste of time, really! Did you truly believe such tactics would get rid of me? BAHAHA!" Gengar reappeared in front of the shrine, looking quite untouched despite suffering massive damage from Kamikaze's strike, his eyes glowing with incandescent rage. The air around the Gengar appeared distorted for a moment as the ghosts from Marchbaby's previous battles shimmered into sight, appearing to bolster Gengar considerably. Lifting its hands, spheres of shadowy energy forming at the end of each, he pointed them at the trainer and laughed. "ENOUGH OF YOUR MEDDLING!"

As the orbs shot forwards, a dazzling bright light enveloped the area, something brushing by Marchbaby with a faint cry. "I won't let you do this! Father!" Flora, it seemed, had come to Marchbaby's aid, and she moved swiftly towards the gathered spirits, the light surrounding her growing so bright it was blinding. It took a few moments for it to finally fade, and with it came the realization that Gengar and Flora were gone, and the appearance of yet another being. But this one was no dastardly spirit come for one final blow; hovering over the shrine was none other than the forest's guardian.

Its big, pale blue eyes were gently concerned as it floated down from atop the shrine, the gentle light radiating from its body soothing both body and spirit. Those eyes widened as it sensed the poison that had crept into Marchbaby's body, hands flying together while it seemed to chant in an almost feverish tone. "կորի... կորի... կորի... կորի!" The same radiance surrounding the pixie-like creature was now shrouding Marchbaby's body, purifying the toxins and leaving him likely feeling even better than before. With a bright smile, Celebi looked behind Marchbaby at the Chikorita that had appeared unnoticed with Flora's arrival, the small Grass type baying in happiness as it bounded over to the trainer and Kamikaze. It too was bearing the fading glow of Celebi's healing power, and was looking up at Celebi with adoring eyes.

"This forest will never forget the courage you displayed today in saving it. Please accept my thanks, and may peace be eternally yours, dragon tamer," came Celebi's ethereal voice as it gently touched Marchbaby's mind. With a faint nod, the pixie vanished into thin air, leaving a sense of complete tranquility behind.
