Name: Alice Hope
Nickname: Aarin Acchan, Alipon
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Trainer Type: Trainer/Co-ordinator
Hometown: Olivine City, Johto
Appearance: Alice is incredibly short, reaching only four foot nine in height with a petite stature. Her build can be described as dainty, although she is still a woman with glamourous curves in the right places-- big hips and big thighs, particularly, in comparison to 'baby hands and feet'. Her blonde hair is long and naturally wavy, dark blue eyes weak and therefore usually magnified by glasses. She has chubby cheeks which don't disappear regardless of weight. Her skin is incredibly pale, and in intense sunlight, it is guaranteed that Alice will burn before she tans (if the trainer should be so lucky). Her nails are usually painted, and although it's no bearing on appearance, she feels naked if not wearing perfume. She doesn't really have a particular stereotype or style of dress, but because she gets warm easily (except for in the winter freeze), she tends to dress with light materials or wear things that are more revealing. Alice favours expensive labels, and in particular dresses, cropped tops, skirts or shorts. She can also be seen wearing heels frequently - especially when working - as Alice is even skilled enough to dance in them. However, if she is going to be adventuring around forests or uneven terrain, she would rather risk ruining her trainers than kill heels. She likes to be fully accessorised at all times, and prefers bags that can go around her rather than actually carrying things by hand like a peasant. (Drawing by Luna)
Personality: To use idol archetypes, Alice would most accurately be a 'little devil' and 'princess' character combined. She is full of complexes and contradictions. For example, Alice is incredibly lazy and would refuse to camp outdoors at all costs, but will try hard in her work (so long as she's enjoying it, at least). The young woman has an obsessive personality and is full of passion, but this can mean that her vision is tunnelled into the picture she wants or cares most about rather than the whole scope. She was raised to be well-mannered and finds manners to be very important, and this along with her intelligence and talents leads to the 'princess' side of her character... But there's more to the 'little devil' than at first glance. She plays up her greediness and how spoiled she is for laughs, but in reality, Alice is very selfish and will usually put herself first, doing whatever she can to get what she wants. Alice always wants something and is never satisfied for long. Despite this, Alice can be good and charitable to be her friends and matters she cares about, but whenever she is wronged, the little lady will throw a strop and can hold a very long grudge, exacting revenge until her anger is satiated. On the inside, she is an angrier person than her cheerful face could let on because of stresses and bullying from a young age. Bottling up anger and depression can lead to explosions, but these are normally in private (or, potentially, with her Pokemon). Her path in life so far has led to a lack of romance, and although Alice has her (surprisingly perverse) fantasies, she is also happy single and enjoying the love and ego boosts of her fans.
History:
Alice was born to a single mother, Kyna Hope, who had hailed from Snowpoint City in Sinnoh for a new life somewhere warmer. Kyna had friends not too far away and had taken on a teaching job ready for when her maternity was over with, and loved her (unexpected) child very much. The baby put her through a lot of trouble, constantly crying, but raising her was rewarding. She kept the child in the creche at the Pokemon academy she taught at, and from a young age, Alice came to enjoy and become very knowledgeable about Pokemon-- although fire and some bug and poison Pokemon terrified her.
When playing at the beach with her little girl one day, Alice was scouted by a talent agency, as she was tiny and her cute charm seemed to attract the agent. She was soon thrust into adverts, parts in movies and plays and was becoming an increasingly possible talent. Juggling schoolwork with a junior idol career, Alice's name started spreading through Johto and eventually beyond. She had acting, dancing and singing lessons, but the schedule was cutthroat for a small child. Her social life struggled, and although it was illegal for children of her age to miss school for outside work or be put through too many hours, it was still tiring. Alice was drifting from her peers, in both positive and negative ways.
Somewhere along the line at age eleven, Alice began to take a steep decline. She kept falling asleep, was becoming absent-minded and would even have fainting spells. Taking the small talent to the doctors revealed that she had a chronic illness. Her mother was fretful for her, although Alice was optimistic and brave as usual. She took a break of two weeks to recover to a degree before business made plans with school, parents and doctors and Alice got back to the grind. However, she was a lot more fragile from that pont on, having to take injections four times a day just to survive along with visits to the doctors and watching her health closely. It affected her everyday, and that was sometimes upsetting, but Alice usually got on with it. When her mother met an engineer when she was fourteen, Alice had one less thing to worry about. Her mother wasn't lonely when she was gone, and the new, future-stepfamily of hers was very nice to spend time with.
By the time she was eighteen, all of her friends had either long since left on Pokemon journies, gone to university or began jobs of their own. Her mother also married that year. Alice had always wanted to go on a Pokemon journey, although her parents wanted university for her instead. Alice had made a deal with her management at this time, pleading to be allowed to have her first very own Pokemon and to go on an adventure. They agreed, deciding to film it as a reality-life-documentary, following her steps out into the world. It allows her to promote on the road as well, partaking in fan events, concerts and press releases-- although that's more so that the agency don't have an idol that's forgotten about at the end of the Pokemon adventuring road.
Goals: To have a fun adventure and meet and keep some wonderful Pokemon, earn all of the badges she can (and wants-- she's lazy), to stay as the world's number one idol and to maybe even find love~ (Pokemon trainers are so cool, you know~?)
Other Info: Alice prefers a varied Pokemon team, particularly Pokemon that are more than one type. Dream Pokemon are: Riolu, Flygon, Larvesta (the mun more than the muse, heh), Sableye, Cubchoo, Aerodactyl, Cleffa, Snubbull, Miltank, Whismur, Munchlax... Yea. Indecision ftw.
