With many great inventors, entrepreneurs and physicists such as Bill Gates, Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking warning us about the danger that artificial intelligence poses to human civilisation, I was wondering if anyone had any views on the likelihood that AI will become more intelligent than humans over the next few decades. If so, what are the likely impacts on our day to day lives and do you think it'd lead to our extinction? I found the following article by Tim Urban a fascinating read and would recommend it to anyone that has an interest in this area: waitbutwhy.com/2015/01/artificial-intelligence-revolution-1.html
