Yuki Noma With the city lights just overhead, it seemed that night had already arrived, and it seemed it would just go on for a long time. My head was drowsy, and the dirt walkway had a dark calming color as I watched my red boots walk acrossed it. I was probably to change clothes to sleep better I suppose, but I just kept walking, slightly leaning against the fence, and turning my head to look at the night sky.
The stars appeared to glisten lightly acrossed the darkened sky, and I was beginning to see different constellations that reminded me of Pokemon. Krabby, Skurropi, and pyroar were just few the many star clusters I could pick out immediately. There were others as well, but I didn't pay any mind to those. I wasn't really paying attention to much at all in fact. Just standing ther quietly at the entrance of the City of Cherrygrove.
The flowers that sat behind the fenced gate caught my eye for a second. They looked awfully pretty. The shades of orange shimmered against the petals, and it seemed a light breeze made them dance ever so slowly. I was admiring the sight that the night had given to the landscape, it changed everything from the day.
I had obviously experienced this many times before in my life, but being here alone... on second thought, being here with my pokemon, it made a difference. I thought that the silence was calming, and I could take a good break here. I sat down, and pulled out a pokeball. It was kasai's pokeball, and I thought it would be great to let him out to enjoy the scenery.
Pressing the button on the container, a flash of light came out, then a small red lizard appeared before me. It's blue attire was still fastened tightly to the Eviolite, and it looked like the charmander enjoyed the new clothing that it had obtained. It was glowing now as well in the spot that Kasai was standing in. His fire seemed to light up the place pretty well.
It was a soothing light, and I found myself closing my eyes and leaning my head back into the fence. The calming feeling of my charmander next to me. Kasai had appeared to curl up next to my side, and lean up against me, but that's the last thing I remembered before falling asleep. |♦|Profile|♦| - |♦|PC|♦| || Sprites are Official Artwork

Cherrygrove City may not have been a very large town but for new trainers it was their first stop after they received their starter Pokemon and left New Bark Town. It was a pretty popular small town with many people passing through on their ways to big adventures and bigger things. The city at night was a welcome sight for travelers as it meant they were near civilization. Not to mention that Cherrygrove was just small enough to see the night sky even with all the lights on allowing trainers a wonderful view of the stars which Yuki pointed out certain constellations as he reached the entrance to the city. However Yuki had not come to look for stars and neither had a Pokemon that had watched him since he arrived. As Yuki watched some flowers behind a gate the Pokemon burrowed underground and listened for the trainers footsteps planning to ambush him as soon as he was in a good position. Before the subterranean Pokemon could make it's move however it heard the unique sound of a Pokeball opening and decided to wait a bit longer before making a strike just to be safe. It had gotten away from an early strike once before but it did not want to take it's chances and as it lie in wait. After waiting for a few moments it could hear the sound of something lying down and knew that this was the perfect moment to strike. It took great care to be as quiet as possible not wanting to wake anything until the last possible second however the small Pokemon had dug a bit too close to the fence causing the piece Yuki had placed his head against to fall off. Realizing that it's cover was blown a Diglett appeared out of a nearby hole trying to see what went wrong went it saw the trainer. Realizing it had goofed again the ground type had a look of disbelief in it's eyes as it looked right at Yuki. There was no question in it's mind that the trainer would not appreciate having the piece of gate behind his head suddenly removed. A battle was likely the only way the matter could be settled and Diglett was not looking forward to it. A wild Diglett level 9 appeared. Please select a Pokemon for battle.

Yuki Noma My eyes jerked open as I suddenly felt something pull away from behind my head. Pulling forward, I felt my pokemon quickly get up in response to my fidgeting. There was something there behind the gate besides the flowers. At first my instincts told me it would be a grass type pokemon from the previous route that had quickly entered town, but when I turned my head, I saw... nothing? I heard the ground rumble, then felt it, but didn't expect to see a diglett when I looked around to find were it was coming from.
The small brown mole pokemon appeared to be looking at me with an apologetic face, or what I presumed was one. I couldn't quite tell what the pokemon was giving me when it came to looks from a wild pokemon. I looked to my Charmander, whom had decided to hide away from the diglett on the opposite side of me. I could tell that Kasai wasn't going to battle this guy, and I knew that it wouldn't have been a great idea to send out a fire type against a ground type anyway.
Before responding to the ground type pokemon, I looked up at the night sky real quick, and realized that I probably shouldn't have attempted to sleep up against the fence, and rather spent the night inside of the Pokemon center. Either way, I knew that I didn't really get any sleep before the interruption that was caused by the Pokemon before me. It seemed to be on accident, but I still wanted to battle it anyway.
I stood up and looked at it seriously, then reached to the holster as usuall. I found that my Charmander had changed it's position behind me, and still stayed away from the diglett. I pulled out the ball that I wanted to toss and threw it. As soon as I did, the light appeared and a small blue pokemon appeared before the ground type. I wasn't going to waste time fighting a strong ground type with something that couldn't fight it to well like charmander. Besides, I needed to train my Froakie.
The pokemon stood there quietly waiting for it's orders, and I knew I needed to give it them. I wanted this match to end rather quickly, so I could get some rest, and my froakie was good at that. Despite it all I kept my stance, and told Miro what to do. "Bubble." I would then smile as the small frog pokemon got into position to do his attack. |♦|Profile|♦| - |♦|PC|♦| || Sprites are Official Artwork

Diglett still cursed it's rotten luck as the battle got underway. The mole was not exactly built for long battles and had to make sure that it ended this battle quickly before it got out of hand. Relying on it's ability to travel underground at a very fast pace Diglett ducked into the hole it dug trying to sneak up on Miro to cause as much damage as it could in the first blow. The frog Pokemon may have had the type advantage however Diglett was not too worried about that as Miro could not attack as long as it remained underground. As the mole listened for the frogs movements it honed in on it's target and made it's move. Diglett came up from under the ground right behind Miro and used a Scratch attack on the frogs back doing a moderate amount of damage and leaving the frog rather confused as to how in the world Diglett was able to locate him underground without having a direct line of sight. However now was not the time to worry about that as Diglett had to expose itself in order to attack and Miro was now able to launch an attack of his own. As the frog stood up as straight as it could he began to blow a big Bubble before he took aim at the mole. He did not want to miss his target with how painful Scratch was and he did not fire until he was sure of a direct hit. Diglett had taken notice of Yuki's CHarmander and was too distracted to see the attack coming and as the Bubble made contact with the back of it's head the mole screeched out in terror as it was deathly afraid of water. Trying to dry itself off by wiping it's head against the nearby fence Diglett really began to see itself as an idiot for picking this fight with a trainer before knowing his skill. It was not a mistake Diglett would repeat again if offered the chance as it finally managed to dry itself off still scared to death what Miro was going to do with it in the next round. Diglett: | Level 9| Health: 47% (11/23 HP) Status: Normal, Egad not the Bubble! Move: Scratch
Yuki's Miro: | Level 5 | Health: 65% (13/20 HP) Status: Normal, That wasn't very nice! Move: Bubble

Yuki Noma The battle was going to end quickly now. I could easily order the last move and quite quickly at that. I knew exactly how to handle the situation, as this match up wasn't to hard to pan out, and the diglett appeared to be tired already from Miro's first attack. I knew, however, that Miro wasn't that high of a level when it came down to fighting the ground type pokemon, and that made my froakies speed nothing in comparison to the mole whom was squeeling a bit. I hadn't moved an inch in response, but I could tell that my charmander was fidgeting.
I figured he was afraid still, not wanting to watch, or maybe just generally not in the best of character at the moment. I wanted to calm him down real quick, and maybe return him to the pokeball, so I turned my head down to look at the fire lizard. What I saw wasn't fear though. I wasn't sure it was interest in the least, but his eyes shimmered a bit, and his grasp on my coat was tighter. He was watching.
I shrugged slightly, it didn't seem that he wanted to be apart of the battle, but Kasai wasn't terrified, so I whent back to keeping an eye on Miro's movements. The Diglett had appeared to be terrified of my Kalos pokemon, and that put me at an advantage. I gave a good glance to my froakie, knowing exactly what to do next. "He may go underground, listen for his digging, then use bubble." I ordered Miro.
It had appeared that Miro had distanced himself from the diglett knowing that the mole would go first again. It would make it easier for him to time his water attack, and I knew that the mole would see it coming. The attack had a sure fire way of scaring the opposing pokemon, and so it looked like my pokemon was trying to scare it into the right position. He was over analyzing the situation, despite this being his first battle with me commanding him. |♦|Profile|♦| - |♦|PC|♦| || Sprites are Official Artwork

Vs. Diglett - - - - - - - - - - - - - Knowing that its previous tactic wound up leaving it soaked by bubbles, Diglett was quite wary of repeating that mistake again. It wasn't quite sure how to proceed here, with a water-spewing Pokémon waiting for it to make a move and even more Pokémon beyond it. But though Diglett was nervous, it was no coward to try and run away from a battle; there was no honour down that path. So with a quick shudder, the mole burrowed under and tunneled a short distance towards Miro, popping up just beside the Froakie in a quick move meant to startle.
Miro had been expecting the strategy and merely blinked, but when Diglett followed up with a loud and rather vicious growling sound, he jumped. It was a surprising choice for a move, Diglett only hoping to buy some time to figure out a way to win, leaving Miro free to pounce. Taking a short breath, the young frog rushed to attack before Diglett could flee, spewing out a few hasty bubbles that bobbed merrily through the air. Squeaking in terror, the brown mole began to squirm around as it tried to burrow down, only for one bubble to just brush its side.
It was enough to rupture the bubble, causing a few smaller ones to also burst nearby, buffeting Diglett about. Lost in the colourful splashes of liquid, it would be mere seconds later that the Ground-type's fate would be revealed. Succumbing to the attack, Diglett lay partially slumped on the ground, the rest of its mysterious body still hidden beneath the ground. Prone as it was, it was prime for capture... or any bird Pokémon waiting in the wings.

Yuki Noma I smiled as the diglett fell, but quickly frowned. It was not in my nature to capture a fainted pokemon, and I almost felt the need to leave it there, but the ppor thing didn't seem like it would last long out in the street. As tired as I was I pulled out the ball from my satchel, and tossed it over gently to the mole. As the light flashed open and surrounding the creature, I knew that the diglett wouldn't fight back. It was more tired then me. While I gave the pokeball a moment to secure the wild pokemon, I turned to my partner who was standing proudly in the position he was when he used bubble.
His eyes were so focused on the capture I made, and it almost seemed as if Miro wanted this to pan out perfectly. As if he was worried the diglett would pop out and use a trump card of amazing ground type attacks. Miro was definitely eyeing the already clicked ball. He even crawled over carefully to retreive it. As he scooped up the ball in his reptilian fingers, I had walked up to the same spot as he did. He handed it up to me, watching me closely.
It made me think he had been through this before, and I felt that had to be true. After a long day, and a really tiring night, I assured myself it would be safer to sleep inside, and it looked like my two pokemon agreed with me. As I turned my head, Kasai was below me, and next to him was my froakie. "Tired as well?" I pulled out the two balls and returned them. It was time to head to the pokemon center to get some rest. They allowed travelers there didn't they?
After a good nights sleep, I awoke to plenty of sunshine. It was a little hard to remember how I stumbled into the building, but it appeared that I slept in the seating area. a small blanket was slightly wrapped around me, and my hat was still on my head, so I assumed I prepaired a bit before sleeping there. Putting the blanket to the side, and pulling out a meal I munched on some food for a bit before heading out without saying goodbye.
It felt that the nurses there didn't notice me anyway, and it probably looked like homeless person with the blanket that I had. Packing light was priority, but cleanliness was also necessary. I had a new change of clothes on, and was out the door, time to explore the marketplace.
The place was a bit lively at night, but during the day, it was lively. There were people out and about checking out everything, and it made me curious on what made the place such an attraction. I had seen more people in goldenrod and other towns that I passed through to get to newbark, but I didn't really interact with anything, or anyone. |♦|Profile|♦| - |♦|PC|♦| || Sprites are Official Artwork{OOC: -1 pokeball, added diglett to box, self editing.}

Cherrygrove Streets- - - - - - - - - - - - - While the city was indeed lively, it wasn't only just humans partaking in various activities. Plenty of Pokémon roamed about, either ignored by the various passersby or just accepted as part of the city itself. Many of the Pokémon stuck to alleys or close to buildings, rarely venturing out into the crowds unless necessary, or if they found someone interesting to pursue. Such was the case for Yuki, although the curious critter wasn't one skulking about on the sidewalks. Perched on a telephone poll and stretched across the connecting wires was a large gathering of various birds, adding their voices to the general din or preening themselves.
Looking distinctly uncomfortable due in part to being squished in between a pair of loud Spearow, a Taillow squirmed to gain some breathing space and nearly lost its grip on the perilously sagging wire. But as it righted itself, the small blue bird noticed Yuki and stared at him for a long moment. Deciding to check on its instincts about this particular human being a trainer, a good one at that, Taillow dropped off the wire without warning and stifled a laugh as the two Spearow let out indignant shrieks. Served them right for crowding it!
A few strokes of its wings brought Taillow down low enough to skim over the heads of people walking around, mindful of Yuki's place as it steadily approached. When it was close enough, the bird let out a bright chirp and received a few smiles from the crowd, though its attention was solely focused on Yuki. Would he indulge its curiosity?
Attention!
A wild Taillow (Level 8) is curious about you! Will you fight or flee?

Yuki Noma The place wasn't as interesting as when I first walked out to be apart of the world around me, I hadn't expected a lack of interaction. Well, correction, I had expected silence from those around me, as I wasn't going to speak to anyone, but I expected... Something. Eventually that something got my attention A couple of squaks was the first sign, then what I presurmed was a bird pokemon chirping at me. Finally my last clue was when I turned my head towards the chirp.
there flying overhead, appeared to be a flying type pokemon, small, and with blue feathers. It took me a moment to remember the species, but someone in the crowd sort of gave me a good hint as to what I was looking at. A tailow. They rather said it loudly and pointed at the creature, not that tailows weren't a common sight, but this one appeared to grab the attention of those around me. It appeared to want something, and I was glad to start my morning off with an activity as such as a battle.
I really wanted Onaji to get some training, however, I knew very well that birds eat bugs, and Onaji wasn't very strong in the first place. My hand ended up reaching for her pokeball anyway, as the temptation of seeing what Onaji could do overwhelmed me, despite knowing I wouldn't keep her in battle. I tossed the ball in a quick flick of my wrist. And as the light flashed to show the bug pokemon, any trainer that was watching probably looked away in dissapointment.
Not that I cared if someone was watching or not, it was all about how I battled this pokemon. The second that I responded to this birds curiousity, I returned Onaji, knowing that she'd be asking why I did such a thing later, and pulled out a different pokeball. Kaze flew out rather quickly when I did this, as if she wanted to face off against a fellow aviary. I was quite content with my choice, despite Kaze being a bit lacking in the move department. "Lets start spamming sand attack!" |♦|Profile|♦| - |♦|PC|♦| || Sprites are Official Artwork

Vs. Taillow - - - - - - - - - - - - - Most of those who had been stopped by the Taillow's inquisitve chirp had moved on, though a few stragglers lingered behind out of curiosity. It wasn't too often battles went on in one of the busier areas of the Cherrygrove streets, offering a form of entertainment for those not in a rush to go places. One young child, a little girl in pigtails clinging to her mother's legs, giggled and clapped her hands at the sight of Onaji. "Mama, I want purple squishy!" she demanded imperiously, much to the amusement of the other onlookers.
Chest puffing up with a deeply drawn breath, Taillow soared in close to where Onaji waited, only for Yuki to quickly recall the Cascoon. The young girl's face fell as Onaji vanished, Yuki sending forth Kaze to battle instead. Taillow's face brightened at the thought of challenging a fellow bird, doing a twirl in mid-air to express its happiness. This cheerful look soon gave way to serious focus, Taillow well aware that it would have to do its best in this fight. With both humans and the other birds watching, its pride was on the line - no way was it going down easily! Unable to hold its breath for much longer, Taillow let loose an ear-splitting cry that rattled Yuki's Pidgey. There had been an intimidating note in that strident sound, enough to make her hesitant to attack.
This hesitation cost her as Taillow swooped in with its beak glowing, delivering a harsh peck to her chest and retreating before she could blink. Rattled as she was, Kaze didn't need to worry about trading physical blows just yet, especially when she could just lessen the chance of her foe connecting attacks in the first place. Dipping down to the ground, Kaze's claw-tipped feet scraped against the pavement for loose dust and grit, grasping a small amount tightly before beating her wings to ascend.
Once she reached Taillow's height, the Pidgey kicked out with her feet and fanned her wings hard to ensure the dust would blow straight into her foe's eyes. Uttering a coarse cry, Taillow shook its head all around and flew about rather erratically, tears streaking its cheeks from watering eyes. The gathered crowd applauded Yuki's tactic, many muttering among themselves as to which bird would come out on top.

Yuki Noma I smiled rather wide when I saw the bird twirl about, pokemon behavior told me it was ready for the battle. It would be surprised with my plan depending on how this battle went. It was obvious to myself that I was going to capture the bird, as there wasn't many bird type pokemon that I'd come a crossed and turn down to join the team. That wasn't the plan that would surprise the bird however, nor was the sand attack. I was quite confident in my Pidgey despite it seemingly hesitant reaction to use the sand attack, and the fact that my bird looked weaker. It wasn't a bad start however.
Kaze had backed up a bit in this situation. Watching the bird from a lower point, The bird got prepared to essentailly do as I asked it the last round, and Spam Sand attack. None the less she knew this could change at any time, and she was growing impatient about the situation. Clawing at the cold hard ground to bring up some of the gravel as there wasn't a whole lot of dirt to be seen. The pokemon's sharp talons appeared to be useful for this situation though, and the bird slightly raised into the air again. Kaze seemed to give off a keen smirk, if that was even possible with a beak, towards the tailow.
I could tell that Kaze knew what I wanted her to do thanks to her paying attention for once. Generally the bird caused trouble rather then help, and I was glad that a battle with a fellow flying pokemon soothed her soul. Maybe the two would become dear friends of the sky. It made me happy to think that Kaze would gain a new friend out of this and thus I commanded to the bird to use the same attack. "sand attack again." I was focused on the battle so much I didn't smile, but I wondered if smiling would help the situation.
The thought of what to name the bird came to mind very quickly. Would it be something unique like Avistar or maybe something more akin to the other pokemon. I know I had recieved a few pokemon from my mother as of late and the Kalos festival really put a good break in me for the coming journey, so I did want the bird to fit in with the others. "Aoi is a good name." I spoke allowed for the blue bird to hear me. I was sure of that name now, the beautiful blue pelt could be seen for miles. "Fly well Aoi." |♦|Profile|♦| - |♦|PC|♦| || Sprites are Official Artwork

The battle of the two avian Pokemon was beginning to heat up after the first two rounds not having done much damage to one another. The wild Taillow had managed a single damaging blow but besides that both Pokemon were in really good shape. The curious onlookers were all very intrigued by the battle as it was always a pleasure to watch a new trainer on their journey battle a wild Pokemon in town. It was a pretty common sight with the influx of new trainers making their way to town and the local townsfolk could never pass up a chance to watch a battle especially between two flying types. They did not have to wait too long for another round to start either as the wild Taillow was not a very patient bird at all. The blue avian had decided that instead of attacking directly it would try and use a status move it had learned a little bit ago to try and boost it's focus enough to score easier critical hits. Being a bird of prey Taillow was not afraid to get a better focus on it's opponent for a moment before a strike to guarantee a more powerful blow and although focus energy would not hurt Kaze this time around the boosted critical hit ratio would more than surely help in the next round. Stretching out both of it' wings Taillow began to stare at Kaze with an absolutely amazing level of focus so much that it had picked out weak points on it's foe it was going to target as soon as it could. Kaze could not get Taillow to break it's focus however it could still do something in order to make Taillow think twice about attacking. Kaze began to kick it's claws on the ground stirring up dirt before flinging a well aimed San Attack into Taillow's eyes and weakening it's sense of vision even further. Even with sand covering most of it's eyes the bird was still able to see the weak spots it had identified but they were very blurry thanks to all the sand. The crowd was in amazement as another round came to an end with both combatants having suffered almost no hp damage. They could not wait to see what would happen next even though they were still a bit disappointed that Onaji was no longer part of the battle. Diglett: | Level 8| Health: 100% (26/26 HP) Status: Normal, Critical Hit stage +2, Accuracy -2 My focus is off the charts! Move: Focus Energy

Yuki Noma As the bird focused on Kaze, I knew that meant trouble. If that bird landed a hit on mine, it could do some serious damage. Although, on the other hand this bird was slightly blind and was probably going to miss in the end anyhow. I wondered if the bird was going to be able to see my next move or not. Either way, the taillow would eventually get irritated by the sand attack spamming that was going on. I wanted to make sure My bird could lay a hit or two, but I needed to be patient. One more sand attack should do. I knew this would make my pidgey grow impatient as well, but it was obvious what I was going to command. I took a step forward towards the battle field and took my hand out to motion for the next attack.
With a small wave or to with my hand, I commanded my bird pokemon to do the same as it had been doing. "One more time Kaze, then we'll be able to start weakening it." I knew I was close enough to get hit by the sand as well, but I was trying to obtain a better view of the situation. As the Taillow knew were my pokemon's weaknesses were, I was going to focus on it, to maybe predict it's next move. Not that it will help a gigantic ammount when it comes to my pokemon being the one who needs to react, but I wanted to see how to counteract the special eyes this pokemon had.
Kaze was obviously displeased by this. This whole Stratagy first, fight later thing was getting to her slightly, as she twitched about trying to find were would be a great place to pick up more dirt and aim from Kaze flew around slightly nervous like. I was sure it was my fault that the bird was having slight issues with the battle, but none the less, the bird eventually found a good place to land. I gave her a good glance as to signal when to toss up the attack. |♦|Profile|♦| - |♦|PC|♦| || Sprites are Official Artwork

Although the strategy was long and drawn out, as well as something Kaze may not have particularly liked or been used to, there was some method to the wait. Having growled in order to try and startle Kaze, then focused on building up some of it's strength, the Taillow figured it had the upper wing in this fight. Now, all it had to do was land a serious of attacks and this bird on bird battle would be well and truly over. Kaze could sense this, her eyes narrowing as the Taillow circled in the air before her. Just one turn more of following Yuki's orders, then she could perhaps finally land something physical to knock that blue avian down from it's high perch. That'll teach it.
A couple of scattered eyes still overlooking in curiosity, it had certainly been a spectacle to those who didn't own Pokemon at all, so far. Heads all tilting up in unison, they watched eagerly as the birds began their next round. Huffing with irritation, Kaze landed regardless, on a patch of dry dirt that would act in favour to her upcoming attack. Not letting on just how blurry it's eyes were, the Taillow had no idea and began to descend with it's beak raised. Feeling all the power well up in it's very gut, it was sure that it could land a powerful, critical. But unfortunately, the exact opposite happened.
Her brown feathers blending in with the small patch of brown earth, Kaze merely stared as from her position, she could already see the problem the Taillow had made. Being off angle by a few centimetres, instead of landing a peck on Kaze, it instead landed right on the ground next to her, beak getting stuck in the earth. Squawking and flapping around in surprise, the Taillow tried to pull itself free but before it could, it just so happened to be at the perfect position for Kaze. With a smirk of her beak, the Pidgey turned and kicked up a hefty cloud of sand, which enveloped the Taillow and caused it to also cough and splutter wildly as it still battled to free itself.

Yuki Noma I enjoyed watching the birds circle each-other. They fly so well in the sky and it was certainly something that I would look forward to watching once the blue bird was on my team. I kept my body still, but lowered my head enough to follow the actions of my opponent. It appeared that Kaze was getting the hang of using the sand attack. Hopefully the small bird would miss constantly and I wouldn't have to swap out Kaze. That was the secondary plan at least. For now, I would follow what my bird pokemon wants to do.
I waited a good moment so that the two birds could hear me clearly, keeping my eyes glued on Kaze's position as it was just a bit hard to follow them when they were at full flight. I wondered how that would affect future battles when Kaze got faster, but at the time I needed to focus on the next attack. I took a deep breath, then quickly spouted out Kaze's command. "Tackle."
I could see how Kaze responded, and she did so very quickly. I was shocked a bit about how excited my pokemon was about this command. I smiled a bit, but only for the brief moment that the bird would look back at me. It made me happy that I could help my pokemon so simply. Of coarse, I knew that once the next movements of the pokemon began, I would have no choice but to hope that Kaze will hit, and Aoi would miss.
Aoi. That name glued to me like white rice. I was so intent on capturing yet another pokemon, but generally, I would obtain it and name it later. This pokemon however, I was going to capture, and I was going to name Aoi. Those feathers were so darn pretty that I knew that was going to be it's name. Be it a boy or a girl. But I knew that was to come when it came to closer examination of the pokemon.
