Continuing to walk in the forest, Alex thought he saw something in the shadow moved nearby, but then he didn't see anything. Was it an illusion or his own imagination? After that, he heard nothing for a good several seconds before he heard a bird squawking and leaves rustling, which meant that the Farfetch'd was nearby in the area.
Then, the trainer saw a bold avian standing on a tree stump, looking determined and prepared to defend something. Alex knew that he couldn't just persuade the Farfetch'd without a fight when the bird looked ready like this.
Thinking swiftly what to do, he ordered his Lombre to use Fake Out, which was pretty much his to-go move for first attack for his grass/water type. The Lombre moved forward into the battle and faced the Farfetch'd, though she didn't really get ready until like five seconds later when the staring-blank Pokemon shook her head to focus.

As Alex ordered his Pokemon to attack Farfetch'd quickly prepared to attack the plant Pokemon. Under most circumstances Farfetch'd would have been able to get off the opening move and do a fair amount of damage using it's leek however Lodd was a bit tricker than most of the Pokemon it had met. Before the bird could swing at her Lodd raised her left arm and swiped at Farfetch'd and as it went to dodge she quickly raised her right arm hitting the bird with a weak slap. It did not do very much damage but it did shock the bird. It's focus had been entirely lost from the attack and it was not able to make a move. Slowly recovering it's pride with a small red mark on it's cheek the bird looked over at Lodd who had enjoyed pulling off such a sneaky attack. The duck Pokemon's pride was hurt more than anything else however that did not mean that it was not going to plan some revenge for the next round. Farfetch'd was hoping that the sneaky Pokemon would try something like that again in fact it was looking forward to it so it's leek could slash across the Lombre's face to teach it a lesson in honor and respect. Farfetch'd would do just about anything to recover it's lost pride and it grinned at the thoughts of revenge playing through it's head. Farfetch'd: | Level 20| Health: 89% (51/57 HP) Status: Normal You sneaky weed! Move: None Farfetch'd Flinched!
Alex's Lodd: | Level 17 | Health: 100% (52/52 HP) Status: Normal Ha fooled ya! Move: Fake Out

With Fake Out being used to stop the Farfetch'd in its move, Alex was now focusing his mind on the battle instead of his attitude in the Azalea Gym. Figuring out quickly that the opponent was a flying type, there wasn't really much point for him to figure out another strategy. But hey, he benefited from the adrenaline flooding his brain to flush away that sad feeling he had been experiencing. Maybe this could change his mood around.
"Alright Lodd, go for an Ice Beam attack!" he ordered and waited, just as his other Pokemon also watched the Lombre. Though knowing that it was his Lombre carrying the attack, it would be safe than sorry, as the grass type didn't react until a few seconds later. He watched in excitement as the move was finally being executed. This would be his first experience with an ice type attack.

Farfetch'd was still very angry about the sneaky tactic used by Lodd in the last round and was eager to teach the sneaky Pokemon s lesson she would never forget. The lily-pad Pokemon could not hope in a million years to keep up with Farfetch'd's current speed level and the bird was quick to notice this. Not even considering showing any mercy the bird charged towards Lodd at a breakneck pace with it's leek extended like a lance ready to strike the grass and water type with all of it's might. Lodd may have gotten off last time but fate had other plans for her this time around. The goose Pokemon slashed here with it's leek with all it's might causing tremendous damage as she shrieked out in pain. The bird had more than gotten even with her as it began to walk back towards it starting position turning it's back on Lodd for just a moment. This proved to be a horrible idea as Lodd was not about to give her opponent a free hit either and just when the bird thought it was same from harm she fired an ice beam attack. The frozen beam left Farfecth'd numb as it's wings were covered in a thick frost. Somehow the bird had avoided becoming entirely frozen by the attack but the damage caused was far more than the bird had ever dreamed of. With both combatants taking a huge amount of damage in this time around the battle was too close to call. It seemed as if the two were pretty evenly matched despite Lodd's free hit the first time around however with how angry Farfetch'd still was that Lodd have even tried to be so sneaky it was likely the bird would not go easy on her in the next round either. Farfetch'd: | Level 20| Health: 47% (27/57 HP) Status: Normal My poor frozen wings! Move: Slash
Alex's Lodd: | Level 17 | Health: 42% (22/52 HP) Status: Normal Birdy decided to fight back! Move: Ice Beam

Alex watched the battle unfold, the round after using Fake Out. He was worried already that his battle plan might be lacking this time, since he brought an entire team of Pokemon that are weak to flying type moves. After witnessing how the Farchetch'd's Slash attack seem to deal more damage than his Lombre's Ice Beam, he figured that he needed to switch out his lilypad Pokemon and try something else.
"Stand back to the side, Lodd," the young trainer spoke, and the grass/water type Pokemon complied. Next, he grabbed another Pokeball and tossed it out into the field, shouting as he summoned the Pokemon, "Go, Grenevir, start of with an Icy Wind!"
A white and green Pokemon appeared, and followed it was the darkening of clouds above and chilling of air. The Snover prepared herself by happily fighting the Farfetch'd. She's so happy to have a battle.

Vs. Farfetch'd - - - - - - - - - - - - - Driven into a frenzy by the biting cold digging into its wings, Farfetch'd narrowed its eyes and hopped about angrily, wishing it could fully wrap its wings around its precious leek and give this trainer's Pokémon a sound thrashing. Deciding revenge seemed a better idea than sensibility, Farfetch'd gave a battle cry and rushed forwards, eyes locked on to Lodd as it drew up with its incredible speed. But Alex, knowing his Lombre was unlikely to take another strong blow, had already swapped her out for another Pokémon that suddenly appeared in front of the charging avian. Not swayed in the slightest, Farfetch'd swung out with its leek and hit Grenevir with a savage slash that had the tree-like Pokémon staggering.
Retreating a few quick steps, Farfetch'd gave its new opponent a quick once-over before speedily dashing in again, pressing its advantage in close quarters to get in another attack. Grenevir was ill-preparred to take even more attacks, fresh out of her ball as she was, and recoiled as Farfetch'd jammed its beak into her twice in rapid succession. It was only the timely arrival of her hailstorm that interrupted the raging bird, a huge chunk just narrowly missing Farfetch'd's head as it pulled back with a squawk of alarm. Staring in terrified awe at Grenevir, it was clear the bird was impressed - and scared - of her weather-altering powers.
Seizing her chance, Grenevir hummed to herself as she opened her mouth and took a deep breath, pulling in a breath from air that was rapidly cooling already. A powerful exhale sent forth an icy cold column of air straight at her still stunned foe, further icing over its wings and some of its body. Stricken by yet more ice, Farfetch'd seemed ready to blow a gasket over this development, only to be knocked silly by a chance hailstone that struck it across the head, sending it keeling to the forest floor. Now was the perfect chance to snatch it up and return the little escape artist to its worried owner.

Alex was a bit taken by surprise throughout this battle, as he thought his Ice-beaming Lombre would take care of the Farfetch'd, but thankfully he realized before too late that his Pokemon was lacking in experience against the flying type Pokemon. He shuddered at the cold, and then thanked his Snover and returned the ice type Pokemon. As much as he like to send Grenevir out to fight, his body can't take the temperature.
Then, telling his Spinarak to wrap the Farfetch'd into an easy-to-carry silk cocoon, with the head exposed, he picked up the captured feathery Pokemon. Holding the Farfetch'd like a baby wrapped in layers, he continued on walking through the forest, with his Pokemon.
ooc: BTW petilil should be level 21 via exp share and I updated accordingly.
