Right after Alex had switched out his Pokemon around, the Gastly finally showed itself. First he heard a cackling, which he thought he was hallucinating because he should be sleeping right now and not wandering a forest at this time of night. Second, he thought those ghosts were being silly to target after him, and well, the Chikorita he was holding. How had he not managed to dropped the Chikorita from running around the forest and accidentally tripping and tossing the grass type was a strange and curious question right now. Though taking the question aside, he was still hopeful to finish up this opponent quickly.

At first, his Dustox was trying to size up the Gastly, because the moth Pokemon was also a creature of the night. However, Alex figured that his Beautifly could benefit from some ghost ousting instead. "Wait, Tackzill. Uh... Casilk, go for an um.... Gust! Gust attack!" Alex commanded his Pokemon, opening his mouth in time to stop Tackzill from attacking first. Though it seemed like he wasn't just sleepy, he was also a bit disoriented from the lack of sleep. Hopefully, this battle won't turn to a disaster because of that. Also thankfully, Alex still managed to remember his Pokemon's names and their attacks.

The evil spirit could sense that Alex was growing tired and it was that human flaw that the spirit planned on taking advantage of as the battle began. It could sense that the human was not entirely aware of the choices he was making as as his Pokemon switched out Gastly made the opening move. Sticking out it's long tongue it began to lick Casilk as the bug just watched the specter approach unaware of it's intentions. With saliva covering it's face the bug shuddered for a moment as it tried not to let the disgusting act get the better of it. Gastly had done well with the first round but there was no time to celebrate yet as another round was underway and the bug was still standing.

Since lick had worked so well the first time Gastly decided to give it another go. Casilk tried to avoid the ghost types tongue however he was not quite as fast as the specter. The Gastly's tongue ran across his face for a second time and by now he was ready for a bit of revenge. Flapping his wings he created a gust of wind sending the leaves on the ground into the air as the winds struck the evil Gastly who was too busy celebrating another direct hit to have noticed that the bug was alunching another attack. The gust was so strong that it caused the specter to slam into a tree before it could turn transparent causing a huge amount of damage to the evil spirit.

The second round did not go anywhere near as good as the first for Gastly. The fact that it could still fight was a miracle in it's own right but the fact that Casilk had managed to avoid becoming paralyzed by lick only added to the embarrassment. Unless the tide of this battle turned soon Gastly knew it would end up like the rest of it's comrades.

Even though the Lick attacks weren't really targeted to him, Alex was a bit too tired and sleepy to be frightened by the lick attack. Although if he had some decent rests and then he encountered a Gastly using Lick again, he probably would scream. Unfortunately for the Gastly, the Duskull that he had encountered earlier had stole the spotlight of striking jump scare and ghost horror out of him, that Alex was just too tired for this ghost.

"Gust. Again." the young man said one word at a time, as if his sleepiness had sucked the appropriate response out of him. Then, he yawned really loudly for a couple seconds, with one hand covering his mouth and the other... wanting to stretch but definitely still holding the Chikorita. If he wasn't holding the sick Pokemon, that hand could be trying to stretch.

Casilk though, did not really enjoy such a hideous ghost licking his face and body. This was some unattractive method of attack that the flirty bug type Pokemon was facing. He shook his head for a bit to show his disapproval, and then began fluttering another fury of Gust attack.

The beautiful Beautifly hadn't taken kindly to the previous attacks of the Gastly and was more than prepared to take down the gaseous orb. It wasn't just the looming, vile spirit that had picked up on Alex's sleepiness, either. Casilk could also tell that his trainer had been through alot and if he didn't leave the forest soon, who knew what could happen to the human? For the sake of future flirting and attention, the Pokemon knew it had to get the battle under wraps and send the Gastly back to the pit where it had crawled out of. Expecting another Lick, the Beautifly was on edge, his wings keeping him moving constantly in order to try and dodge the nasty feeling of a slimy tongue dragging against it's body. Only this time, the Gastly had a different plan.

Merging in with the very shadows around it, the hidden Gastly manipulated the darkness, forming them into the shape of blades which were then aimed straight for Casilk. Slightly surprised by the oncoming waves of darkness, Casilk tried to swoop to one side in attempt to dodge but was fiercely struck. Floating backwards in the air, it took the Pokemon a moment to regain his balance but soon, his eyes were focused on the sight of Gastly, who had emerged from the shadows with an eerie cackle. Irritated by this spirit, the Beautifly began another fearsome flap of his majestic wings, whipping up a gusty storm.

The tornado of wind and dirt span through the air, quickly coming into collision with the Gastly, who shrieked out in pain. Once the gust had dissipated, all that was left behind of the Gastly was a purple wisp of gas, which quickly faded into nothing.

With another ghost defeated, quickly, too, Alex was relieved that the battle wasn't being dragged out too long. However, the problem with the sick Chikorita was still on hand, literally, and he was still trying to find this valley place thing with a tag. Feeling still clueless about the forest's layout, he thanked his Pokemon and began walking again, with his two bug Pokemon flying by his side. If any ghost dared to show up again, he would know as fast as his Pokemon knew. Although for now, he needed to walk his tired and sleepy body through the forest and through the night.
