Head feeling better and a bit of a better grasp on her own surroundings, Sam had opened up her gift after the Gym win against Bugsy. Inside had been an egg, and while Sam liked the idea of training up another Pokemon, she had planned on putting it off until she'd made a little bit more progress. Besides, Ilex was waiting and she needed to be in tip top shape with her team. However, of course, fate had other ideas as the egg hatched after the first few steps Sam had taken. All of her plans had to be put on hold at this point as the shell exploded violently. Thankfully she hadn't been holding it.
Inside the strange egg was none other than a strange Water Pokemon that she'd never seen before. While it was a nice surprise, the trainer had absolutely no idea how to take care of it. Did Water Pokemon always need water or would this one be okay? Did it know a water attack to keep itself wet throughout travel? Could she only battle with it near a river? After calming down, Sam was able to get the answers she needed and although she wanted nothing more than to tackle Ilex Forest, she decided it would be beneficial to go ahead and train up the little Horsea. It wasn't very pleasant to get along with, especially compared to Garrus and the rest of her crew. Even Joka seemed more friendly than the little creature, but that was only because of not being familiar with Sam... right?
"I can't really nickname you, as i'm not sure what to call you yet. But eventually we'll think of something!" Sam told the little Horsea before trekking back towards the Pokemon Lab she'd started at. It brought back a lot of memories, although some weren't so pleasant as they had Silver in them. Either way, staying in New Bark for a while would give the Horsea enough time and enough lower level Pokemon to train itself up. Besides, what's the worst that could happen? The little Horsea was just going through growing pangs, there was no other reason that it would be so aggressive against her.

Sentret had been walking around the outside of Professor Elm's lab hoping to get the chance to make friends with a new trainer. It had grown bored of the quiet life it had been living in town and it wanted to see the world. As new trainers were always coming in and out of the lab it hoped one of them would decide to take it along on their journey. Little did it plan on what events were going to transpire and if it would have known Sentret would have stayed far away from the lab. Sentret started growing tired of waiting however and it walked into the lab to look for a trainer. It is then that Sentret saw Sam with her new Horsea which was an odd Pokemon for the area and one that Sentret had never encountered before. Wanting to get a closer look at the newly hatched Pokemon Sentret approached the small water type to get a better look. Sentret used Foresight to study the young Pokemon and as it did Horsea fired a Dragon Rage right into the normal types face before Samantha had any idea what was happening. The blue flame infused with the might of dragons knocked Sentret out in a single blow as it barely clung to life. When it awoke Sentret was in terrible pain from the attack and it abandoned any plans it had to leave the relative safety of New Bark Town. The once friendly Pokemon had become terrified at the thought of making new friends as the unexpected attack left it mentally and emotionally unbalanced. As the normal type Pokemon ran off never to be seen again the lab once again grew quiet. The unexpected attack as devastating and powerful as it was still could not summon much activity in the sleepy town. Though things were quiet for now something might still come by to check on things as the lab was pretty peaceful for the most part. Such a loud sound had to have been heard and drawn somethings attention even if it took a while to be able to investigate. A friendly Sentret level 8 that wants to give you a hug appeared and OH MY........ Pokemon Battle
Gengar: | Level 8| Health: 0% (0/26 HP)Status: KO'ed KO'ed Move: Foresight
Samantha's Horsea: | Level 1 | Health: 100% (11/11 HP) Status: The ragin Cajun dragon! Move: Dragon Rage
Horsea showed no mercy in it's dojo as it scored a direct Dragon Rage. The apparently genderless Horsea grows to level 5 thanks to it's Lucky Egg. It also gained 1 happiness and it has +1 happiness overall. Horsea is trying to learn Smokescreen but it can only know 4 moves. Would you like it to forget a move so it can learn Smokescreen? Current Attacks: Dragon Rage EM, Ice Beam TM, Bubble

It had been a while since Sam had walked around this route, and it had brought back memories. At least there were some good ones! Garrus growing alongside Icarus, plus extra Pokemon picked up along the way. It was comforting to know they were all growing together as a unit. Sam wanted the Horsea to get along with the other Pokemon, and perhaps battling together would do that. Horsea was afraid of Icarus due to the type difference, and the Horsea seemed indifferent when it came to the other Pokemon. The only thing it seemed interested in was wild Pokemon, so of course, when the Sentret approached, Horsea squirmed and looked alive. It bounced out of Sam's hands and braced itself. Sentret wasn't sure what was about to happen, and Sam never would have guessed the events to follow.
Horsea inhaled, and Sam expected a bubble.
A cute, little bubble.
It was not a cute, little bubble.
The sky seemed to darken as all hell broke loose from Horsea's maw. The Dragon Rage flew from it's mouth and singed Sentret down to it's fur, immediately knocking it out with one hit. Horsea turned back to look at Sam smugly, as if showing her what it was capable of. "Oh... my gosh... that was crazy. Oh my god." Sam gasped, scared to reach down and pick up the Horsea. This cranky creature could destroy anything in front of it. "Uh... good job with the battle...?" She squeaked, rubbing a finger on top of it's head. It did win, which was what Sam was hoping for... but she didn't expect something so devastating. Where in the hell did this Horsea come from? The package had been from the man that assisted her with her fossil when she went to dig, so the Justin fellow was to blame for this monstrosity probably. "Uh... let's only use that on Pokemon that we're battling, not friends or uh, trainers please." Horsea wriggled, waiting in anticipation for another wild Pokemon to fire it's cannon at.

Slowly realizing that this Horsea was more than ordinary Horsea, Sam was trying her best to keep this young Pokemon from going out of control, such as committing homicide. Thankfully, the next thing that this team encountered was just a Pidgey. Although it looked just a little bit older looking than the other Pidgeys in the neighborhood, this one was ready to put up a fight when it saw the humans. Hopping forward, the Pidgey stopped its feather-grooming and faced the unfamiliar Horsea. The water type once again launched the Dragon Rage, wincing that cute face after it was done. The Pidgey was roasted. The poor flying type used the last bit of its strength to kicked the ground and rolled away. Now it would have to groom its feathers all over again! Horsea was such a fashion disaster!
Wild Pidgey (Level 7) was defeated! Horsea is now Level 8! +1 because lucky egg! Horsea would like to learn Leer, delete a move? Happiness +1, now +3!

Once again, the horrendous power that Horsea had within was unleashed onto another Pokemon, and Sam couldn't help but wonder what exactly this Horsea was a product of. It had the strength of something much larger and more terrifying, and that move was practically one-shotting everything that came near her! Horsea seemed less aggressive towards Sam at this point, however, which was the only good thing. These battles were getting her pent up rage out, although Sam didn't necessarily understand why such a cute little creature who had JUST hatched had so much anger? It was almost as if she was sired by a Gyarados!
"We can't go around fighting like that, little Horsea!" Sam had to call it something until she knew of a name for the angry little female creature. "Try using something a little less... destructive." The Horsea gave her a strange look, as if the trainer in question 'wanted' the Horsea to get hurt. The self-preservation was strong in this one, and it wouldn't be knocked off and away that quickly. "You're going to scare things! If you do that one more time, we're leaving and going somewhere else, and if you want to keep battling, we're gonna have to play nice with the other Pokemon." Sam mumbled, patting the Horsea's head. Soon something would come up, and Horsea had full intentions of destroying it in one turn as it had everything else. Taking Horsea somewhere else meant it would be free to do the same with stronger Pokemon, right? Not seeing the error of it's ways, Horsea prepared itself for another Dragon Rage, instead of a Bubble like her idiotic trainer wanted.
Dragon Rage x2 if needed on whatever comes along next! :3

Sam’s fear was becoming painfully obvious, and for good reason. The destructive little Horsea was on a rampage, bloodlust in her eyes as she eagerly sought out her next victim. It looked as if there would be no stopping the little creature from wreaking havoc on the entire route, despite Sam’s desperate pleas. And the next little target would be perhaps the least threatening of them all. A small Wurmple was quite happily crawling across the branches of a tree just a few yards ahead of Sam and the tiny weapon of mass destruction, hungrily chomping on a berry or two on its way back home. It’d had a nice long day of doing nothing in particular, just lazing about and grazing on foodstuffs as it eagerly awaited the day it could evolve into a Silcoon and transform into a gorgeous Beautifly. Such was its mood that it didn’t even consider the equal possibility of becoming the much less good-looking Dustox. Nothing was going to spoil this Wurmple’s day. Nothing at all. And there was absolutely no way it was going to be convinced otherwise. Today was a good day to be alive. As it approached the nest, its mother called over to it with a high-pitched cry, as if something was wrong. Before Wurmple could even ask what the issue was, the pathetically weak “branch” – or I suppose a twig – it had decided to crawl on snapped. The happy Wurmple fell to the ground rather swiftly, hurting its stomach just a little. Well, no matter, thought the Bug type, I’ll just climb back up. A little Wurmple (Level 6) is just minding its own wonderful business and doesn’t have any plans to fight today! But… Unfortunately for the cheery little guy, it had been spotted now. Without the cover of the tree leaves to protect it, Horsea had locked on to her new target and was taking a huge gasp of air. Before Sam could even tell her what to do, another massive fireball erupted from the Water type’s mouth and headed straight for the Wurmple. Wurmple, completely oblivious, was starting to climb the tree back to its home… just to get struck in the back. What a wonderful end to a wonderful day. The force of the blast caused the tree to groan and lean over. Sensing the danger, the Wurmple’s family left in a flash, leaving the tree to collapse on the bug. But don’t worry, folks, I’m sure it escaped. It’s fine. It’s probably living on a farm now, with humans who love it very much. Pokémon don’t die, this is a kids’ forum. Battle Unprovoked Murder
Wurmple | Level 6 | Health: 0/23 (0%) Status: KO’d before it could feel anything. Wurmple set foot on a tree trunk! Horsea | Level 9 | Health : 27/27 (100%) Status : Normal Horsea used Dragon Rage!
Um… congratulations? Horsea has disobeyed Sam yet again and slaughtered the wild Wurmple! Horsea’s demolition job granted her 3 levels, due to Lucky Egg, and she reached Level 12! Yay? [For completeness's sake, I'll put this in the Pokemon/Item Transfer thread. I know you can self-update, but habits need to be formed on my end.]

Horsea seemed more than pleased with itself, and Sam's cheeks reddened in anger. Another Pokemon had been absolutely obliterated by this trigger happy Horsea, so there wasn't much she could do in the realm of controlling the unruly beast. Tapping its head with a pokeball, it disappeared in a flash. Sucked back into the capsule, but at least it couldn't do anymore damage. Sighing, Sam looked at the pieces of scorched earth where fainted Pokemon were before skittering off into safety. Sam couldn't necessarily blame them, at least.
"Gonna have to watch you a little harder, me thinks." She murmured, before picking up her bag and heading back in the direction of the next town. While she was absolutely thrilled with this gift... she didn't necessarily see it as one given how trigger happy the little squirt was.
(ending so I can regroup, it's been a while but i'm glad to finally be back.)
-Fin for the closeout! Moving on-
