Hoping for the best, he knew if these rumours were true of a Rocket submarine operating in these waters, he would want to put an end to their nefarious operations as soon as. Watching as the quick ball made good of its name and zipped towards the Wailmer, scooping it up inside, he couldn't help but laugh as it plopped into the waters and bobbed up and down. "
Hah! Good thing these float." He said, a nod received from Puka. A couple of wobbles later and it appeared the capture had been successful. "
Nice, looks like this dive is a go. C'mon, let's paddle over." Moving in unison with his Pokemon, they grabbed the newly acquired Wailmer. "
Okay Puka, you're gonna have to return for now but i'll need you when I swim back up. For now, this Wailmer's gonna help us dive." Returning the Pikachu and switching into the Wailmer so he still held hold of something, he greeted the Pokemon. "
Howdy, good to meet'cha. I'm Joey." Giving the Pokemon a good reassuring pat, he needed this Pokemon to be as calm as possible. What they were about to do was pretty dangerous all things considered and last thing he wanted was to be stranded leagues upon leagues under the sea.
"
I'm gonna need your help in diving down, alright? When we're down there. Whatever you do, don't panic. You're gonna see some crazy happenings." At least forewarning, he took out another Pokeball revealing Doopliss. "
Doop! Careful!" Nearly summoning the Pokemon into the water, he made sure to grab the Ditto before it took a watery plunge. "
Phew! Careful bud." Placing it ontop of the Wailer's large head, Joey briefed his Pokemon. Thankfully, he had been in great talks with the replicating Pokemon on the flight over. "
Like we planned ok? When I give the signal, you make with a transform on what I showed ya on the flight over, okay? You remember, when we flew closer to the sea, those Pokemon who had surfaced." Nodding enthusiastically to his trainer, Joey couldn't help but grin at Doopliss. "
Good, we've got this. A little payback for what they did to you, huh? What they did to me..." Trailing off, he remembered back to why he had such a ardent loathing for the criminal mob. They framed him, his friends. They weren't going to get away unscathed. If they were going to pin their crimes on him, he was more than happy to live up to the sort of person they were making him out to be. Picking up the mini scuba mask he had pilfered along the beach, he checked he had enough oxygen to last him a return trip. "
3... 2... 1... DIVE!"
At his command, the Wailmer plummeted underwater, Joey gripping on tight as Doopliss did the same with his trainer. Down and down and down they went. It was seemingly an endless descent. The light from the world above grew dimmer with every league they made. After what appeared to be an eternity of waiting, the trio were shocked to see a conspicuous submarine off in the murky distance. One thing that was certain though, it definitely bore the tell tale R sign on its side. Leering his eyes, it seemed his trusty informant had not been wrong. Turning to Doopliss, he flashed a sign with his hands, to which Doopliss giggled mischievously before parting from the group. After a good distance, the Pokemon seemed to alter and transform much to the Wailmer's fright...
Meanwhile... On board the Rocket October...
"
Haw haw haw!" Sitting at the captain's seat of the submarine, overseeing control of the ship was a large, brawny individual. Very much identifiable as a man of the sea in the way he wore his Rocket uniform like that of a sailor, it was none other than one of their operatives. Known for his reputation at naval operations, Ernesto had selected from the ranks of the criminal organisation to spearhead a mission which involved using a specialised submarine vehicle to capture huge scores of marine wildlife to use in their operations in mainland Johto. Their revival still not at full capacity it meant they had very few resources to spare on such a mission and the submarine was the only of its kind.
In fact, it was the only presence Team Rocket had out in this part of the region. Plans for a change in this were brewing but nevertheless, it meant Ernesto was trusted to supervise himself. "
This sub, I tell ya. We just find a school of Pokemon and WHAM! We open up the front of the sub and suck 'em all up inside and then capture them one by one. It's genius. All outta the nosey attention of the cops." Suddenly snapping to one of his crew personnel, he awaited a report on potential life in the area.
"
Yargh! Status report! Anything on the radar?"
"
Caiman here." Answered a Rocket crew member on board the sub. "
No problems."
"
That's what I like to hear. Hone in on a school of Sharpedo and we'll-"
"
Wait! Boss! An extremely large object... Just... Appeared!!"
"
What do you mean an extremely large object has appeared outta nowhere?!"
"
Boss-"
"
Don't boss me! Get on the periscope!"
The grunt panicking at how big the blip on the radar was, Ernesto let out a hefty breath of exasperated air. Shoving past as he pushed himself off his seat, the bulky sailor grabbed hold of the periscope controls and began looking around. What he saw next was enough to make most people faint in terror. "
ARRRRRRRRGH!" He yelled as Doopliss-Wailord went crashing into the submarine. It was not a pretty sight. Unable to take the full brunt of the impact, the submarine began to buckle and ultimately fell apart into pieces. The Rocket October had no doubt seen the last of its service. Escaping through various means, a number of other Rockets fled the scene. Some in plain scuba gear, others gripping hold for dear life on one of their sea faring Pokemon.
Having seen what appeared to be a suspicious character off in the distance when he was searching for the massive blip on the radar, it appeared Ernesto had some sort of clue as to who had exacted out this attack. "
That purple bandanna'd punk... I'll get ye... ALRIGHT! Time to swim to the shore!" Sending out his trusty Carracosta, he quickly put on some scuba gear in order to make it between the depths and the surface without running out of breath.
Back where Joey was stationed, the biker couldn't hold in his glee. Letting a number of bubbles escape out form the side of his mouth as he grinned, he had just put a huge dent in Team Rocket's plans. "
HELL YEAH! Let's see you swim around like you own the place. UP YOURS ROCKETS!" Motioning his arms into a rude gesture, he tapped the side of the Wailmer to instruct it he wanted to land. The poor thing. It had been commandeered to help him in thwarting Team Rocket and from the brief time he was with it, he could tell it wasn't a fighter at all. He'd have to find a special home for this Pokemon. Looking up as he drew nearer and nearer to the surface, it had been a successful diversion.
