Appearance: Dan is slightly taller than average height for someone his age, though not by much. He's about 5'11, though he slouches often so he looks as though he's about 5'9.(His mother always told him to stand up straight.) While he's not excessively muscular, he does have a some definition. He's also of an average weight, weighing about 123 lbs. His is a dark brow, like both of his parents', though he has his father's eyes. While his hair is messy he usually keeps it's length down to his ears or shorter.
The clothing he wears often depends on what the weather is like for that day. In the colder months he prefers to wear a dark blue hoodie over a t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans along with his favorite pair of blue shoes. When it gets a bit warmer he ditches the hoodie and jeans for a pair of dark blue shorts instead. Though with each outfit he has a belt he can clip pokeballs onto so he's always ready for a battle. He also carries a necklace with some sort of tooth on it around his neck. It was given to him by his father so he always has it with him and refuses to take it off.
Personality: Dan is a happy go lucky kind of guy. He's very loyal and dependable to his friends and those he cares about. He'll always try to do something when his friends need it, and it kills him when he's unable to help. Though if you hurt those close to him, look out. He will come after you with a vengeance. While he's shy meeting new people he'll soon come out of his shell after a few conversations.
One of his favorite things is pokemon, having grown up around them all his life. His favorite pokemon being Eevee, though his favorite type would probably be electric. He likes to read and take walks through the forest, it's very calming to him. One of his favorite meals would have to be this casserole his mother makes. It's like a cheesy chicken and noodles kind of thing.
History: Dan was born to his father, Joshua Toberman, and his mother Clara. His father was a scientist who studied pokemon for a living, so Dan was introduced to pokemon at an early age. Sometimes Joshua would send out a smaller pokemon for little Dan to play with, though he was always instructed to be very careful. So Dan often played in the field behind his house with whatever pokemon he was with that day until it was time for dinner. Sometimes he'd try to venture into the nearby forest, but was always called back by Clara before he got too far.
One day though, Dan had managed to make it to the forest without being noticed. He was enjoying himself, seeing bug types he hadn't remembered seeing before. Weedles and Kakunas and a bunch of others, all the while being followed around by the Eevee his father had let him play with that day. Suddenly there was rustling in the brush and a Scyther roared and came out of the brush, moving to attack the boy who was now frozen in place. However the Eevee jumped in front of him to fend off the bug type.
While the Eeevee was much weaker than the bug type it managed to fend it off until Joshua came rushing through the forest to save his son. The Eevee, however, did not come out without a scratch. It was badly injured, but the family was immensely grateful to it for saving Dan from the territorial Scyther and all that could be done was done to heal it, and from that day on Eevee had been his favorite. Soon though, the pokemon was asked for by another scientist to study and Dan didn't see that Eevee again, but he always hoped to catch one for himself one day. Eventually he started school and started making friends, but about 3rd grade his father needed to move for his job, forcing him into a new school and trying to make new friends.Thus began the cycle that continued over the next few years.
Every few years or so, sometimes less, Joshua would be called to come to some lab or another in a far away place. They'd move, they'd get somewhat comfortable, and then they'd be called somewhere else. In this time Dan was often bullied as he seemed to be an easy target, being new and uncomfortable. In some of those schools though, people stood up for him and they became friends. He'd always looked up to them and wanted to be like them. He wanted to save and help people who couldn't protect themselves. In his later teens he looked into joining the IPF, but the more he studied them, the more he realized that there were too many rule, and regulations and red tape to get any real work done. So instead he decided when he graduated he'd go and fight justice on his own, without the help of the police. Especially with the rise of Team Rocket, the world was going to need all the help it could get.
Goals: Fight evil, and defend the weak and defeat Team Rocket
