I was VERY iffy on this creature at first. Didn't like the name, didn't like the design so much. Although, it did have the hallmarks of a chimera like beast which was cool.
Since being released, it seems there's a cool bit of lore behind it. Spoilers, you've been warned.

Of course I made my Silvally a Poison type.

From piecing together the diary entries and conversations concerning it, it's possible to conclude:
- Made by the Aether Foundation as a means to combat Ultra Beasts, given the code name "Beast Killer"
- During its creation, it was given cells from all known Pokemon types in order to shift between them based on research in Canalave Library in Sinnoh around Arceus legends
- Three were successfully made and dubbed Type: Full
- All three however rejected the RKS (Arceus ) System which allowed them to change types, causing them to go berserk
- Eventually subdued, they were given limiters (the helmet seen on Type: Null) and ultimate deemed a failure, being put into cryogenic stasis
- Name changed from Type: Full to Type: Null
- Before Sun&Moon, they are bought out of stasis (Lusamine deciding to contact the Ultra Beasts and needed some firepower maybe?) and it appears Gladion gets his hands on one
- Eventually bonds with the Pokemon (As is the case with all his other Pokemon being happiness evos, not so edgy after all haha), making it evolve into Silvally, it now accepting the RKS system as its ability
- This leaves 2 other Type: Null, one which is gifted to you and another... Which may turn up in the Sinnoh remakes?!
Of course I made my Silvally a Poison type.
