As the Gastly tried to make a move on Chikorita Mania quickly jumped in front of the ghost blocking its path. " So you thought things would be that simple? You are such a fool." Her powers could easily trick the spirits but it was way too much fun shredding them instead. She had trained this whole time for this moment and it was her time to shine. As her claws reflected the moonlight above she let out a deep howl. It was the perfect setting for such a battle and she could not contain her excitement any longer. Without Tyler saying a word she began walking towards Gastly ready to strike.
" I shall destroy you under this beautiful moon, you shall fall tonight in glorious fashion as my claws rip you to bits. I will be damned before I allow you to live another day so prepare to die." As she said that Tyler began to clap quite excited to watch the spirit meet its end. If she was able to take advantage of her training it could make a huge difference when combined with her type and level advantage. Even so he had to be ready for anything as these spirits would not mess around. He had Hollenhund on standby if things went sour though he doubted they would.
" So it would appear things are in order here. I doubt this punk will give us a hard time but Hollenhund just in case be ready to help Mania. I want every last one of these freaks gone by sunrise so we can make bank from this little one." The Chikorita in his arms could hardly move but being near Gastly was not helping its condition at all. Tyler had no problems taking Gastly out but being the good guy for once still left an awful taste in his mouth. " Mania time to end this, use Night Slash on this worthless ball of gas so we can move on." With her orders received she began slashing her foe hoping for a fast and flawless victory so she could really test herself.
Tyler look on with great anticipation as well. He had seen her work first hand but she had fought mostly common Pokemon until this point making this test super special. If everything worked out well the would be ready for anything that Goldenrod would throw at them as soon as this side errand was dealt with.
OOC: Mania uses Night Slash on Gastly.

The gastly didn't stand a chance. And the best part about it was that it didn't realize it didn't have a hope in Ilex of coming out on top. The ball of ethereal evil continued its low cackle, chuckling away at its sinister thoughts. They would be but dreams the ghost pokémon sank into once Mania made her move. Each of the battle participants stared darkly at one another, Gastly sticking out its long tongue in mocking taunt while the illusory wolf brandished her claws. But the joke was on the wandering spirit. Mania used a stream of shadow supplied by one of the many tall trees blocking the moonbeams into the forest to initiate her attack. In a rush of black she seemingly disappeared from sight, though the gastly's giant eyes followed her trail. It didn't seem to matter, though, that the ghost pokémon was able to keep track of her. As her nightly veil was striped away it was but a second before her strike. A snapshot in time would show the twinge of horror just being realized by gastly as those shining white talons were an inch from its face, primed to tear its very essence asunder as the illusion pokémon erupted from a shroud of darkness. Her claws ripped effortlessly through the spirit, its ghostly wail sailing through the trees in the curdle of death. At the end though there was a hint of joy as it curled into barely a laugh.
VICTORY!
 Mania wrecked that Gastly and gained 800 EXP; she grew to LV 31! |
