Trainer Type: While being a Pokemon trainer is something he likes the idea of, Luxos is not completely sure of which direction he wishes to go. He likes the idea of doing a little bit of everything and the study of Pokemon fascinates him.
Hometown: Lumiose City, Kalos
Appearance: Luxos stands a tad over 5'8 tall. He has a soft, lean frame with far more baby fat left than any hint of muscle tone. His skin is fairly tan most of the time as he spends a majority of time outdoors. He has raven colored hair, which is slightly medium length and is always parted to one side and swept back. While rather wavy, it is always well groomed and neat as he dislikes it looking like a total mess. His sapphire blue eyes are slightly hooded and his lips, especially his bottom one, are quite ample. His eyebrows are rather thick and they are naturally shaped so his "baby face" easily conveys whatever emotion he is feeling. It’s definitely not easy for this young man to hide the exact mood he is in.
While Lux enjoys dressing up in suave suits, crushed velvet jackets, dress clothes, and other ‘classy’ things, he is occasionally seen wearing a kilt of some kind. This is a habit that he picked up from his blood father when he was younger. His favorite is a red, white and green tartan. When wearing his kilt, he usually wears white knee high socks, some dark brown dress boots and a dark blue/black, long sleeved “Jacobite” shirt . Another thing he is sure to be seen with is an ascot or cravat of some sort, tied right around his neck. Out of his small collection, he favors a orange/gold colored one, patterned in stars and spirals that remind him of a galaxy. The last thing you will probably not see him without is a small camera, one he uses about everyday to keep and remember memories.
Personality: Luxos, although easily capable of making friends with a variety of different people, is a rather reserved individual. Even when he is 100% comfortable around someone, he is more the quiet type rather than the outspoken personality. That doesn't at all mean that he is the shy type. He is not afraid to speak his mind or say if he feels something he sees or hears is wrong or unjust. He has a high dislike for people who treat other people or Pokemon badly and does not forgive them easily. Lux can be a bit more forgiving though, to those who hurt him personally. Probably more so than he should be.
The main word that could describe Lux’s personality would have to be inquisitive. He has a great curiosity for just about anything that comes into his life. Learning or seeing new things greatly excites him, especially when it comes to Pokemon. Both of his parents had a love for raising Pokemon. So it was no big surprise when he and his sister also came to love the pocket monsters themselves. He also has a great love for music, be it singing or playing his flute or violin. Along with that, he enjoys reading, learning about building new things and cooking. His last major hobby includes his camera. Ever since he was a child, he loved documenting/shooting the Pokemon that lived nearby.
History: Luxos had a fairly normal upbringing. He grew up in a loving home with his twin sister, Tavia and his two fathers; James (biological) and John (adoptive). James had been a Pokemon trainer before settling down and "Doctor" John taught as Pokemon teacher in Lumiose. It was obvious that Pokemon were to be a big part of young Luxos's life. His parents always encouraged the children to ask questions and be curious about the world around them. That led to Luxos wanting to know a little bit about everything. While the children grew up loving art, Luxos grew to like photography, while his sister preferred drawing.
As he grew up, both his sister and himself found themselves spending more time outside, especially in the city and the routes outside. When out of the city, they would of course be accompanied, if not by James or John, then by their parent’s own Pokemon. This is when the two youngsters began learning about Pokemon battles. Every now and then, Luxos would find himself witnessing battles between trainers at the Lumiose Gym or even the Battle Institute and he found himself wanting to give it a try, with his own Pokemon in the future. At home, he would have mock battles and he began to study different types to learn the strengths and weaknesses of each type.
When the two twins turned the age of thirteen, Luxos and Tavia had been given the option to finally start their journey and become Pokemon trainers. While Tavia immediately agreed, Luxos showed a tiny bit of hesitation. Although this was something he did want, he was not quite sure he was 100% ready. After all, mock battles with Pokemon that were in high level was much different than battling with ones that were just starting out. “Come on Lux,” his sister tugged gently at his sleeve, noticing the uncertainty in her brother, “I know it’s a bit scary. But it’s exciting too! It’s just like everything else you’ve ever started in your life! It might be difficult, but it’ll only get easier and more fun with time. And you’ll never be alone!” As he looked at his siblings wide grinning face, he couldn't help but beam right back. Of course he knew she was right.
The next question was; was it better to start off in his home of Kalos, or somewhere completely different. His blood father had done traveling in Kanto before moving to Kalos, while his adoptive father had been travelling in Sinnoh. As the twins decided they didn’t wish to travel together ‘quite’ yet, they would each explore a new region for the time being. For no one reason in particular, Luxos found himself taking the next boat to the Johto region.
Goals: To take as many photos of each Pokemon as he is able to and catch/raise a Pokemon to trade with his sister someday.
Other Info: He has a slight preference for Psychic and Fire Pokemon, because those were the ones he was mainly raised around. But he finds all Pokemon interesting.
