Don grinned proudly at the suggestion that his Weedle would become a formidable Beedrill one day. "Thank you, my grandfather has a Beedrill," the boy boasted. "He was the one that introduced me to bug-catching. Gave me my first butterfly net when I was six! Wait til he sees this Wurmple I just caught." The Wurmple had been struggling in vain inside the Bug Catcher's net but something dramatic had happened. The net lay dead still and something else appeared to have replaced the Wurmple. "No way!" gushed the bug-enthusiast as he removed the net from this new cocooned creature. "Did you see that?! The Wurmple turned into an entirely new bug Pokemon!"



Skaro scratched at the ground impatiently, ready to get on with the battle. When finally the command came from Luxos, he beat his wings furiously and staying low to the ground careened towards the tired Weedle. Without a hint of mercy, the Spearow attacked the bug Pokemon with a frenzy of pecks and when the dust had settled, the limp body of the Weedle was left lying motionless in the grass

Don's attention was drawn away from the Silcoon and back towards the battle, where his heart sunk. Never had he seen such a ferocious attack on his Pokemon before. His grandfather had told him that bugs were the strongest Pokemon and his favourite toy was a Genesect figurine. "Oh no! Man, your bird is really strong. Poor Weedle, return!" Don pointed his Poke Ball at the fainted bug and withdrew his Pokemon. "Okay! Caterpie, it's all up to you now!"

As Don started showing a great enthusiasm on the spot, Lux took a single step closer, his curiosity taking over. He turned his concentration to where the bug trainer’s net had once been, covering the worm Pokemon. His eyes then became fixated at the brand new Pokemon that had taken its place. What once was a little Wumple, was now a small, spiny looking ball, two red eyes staring out like bright gems.

Now wasn’t that interesting? It appeared that an evolution had taken place. Luxos, quite like the other young man, showed his own form of eagerness, a smile lighting up his round baby face.

“Aren’t Pokemon incredible?” he asked, his voice coming out in a bit of awe.

“Just minutes ago, it was something totally different. Now look at it. Amazing.”

It was just one of the things Lux loved about Pokemon. There was just so much to learn about what they were capable of. His sister had been right, traveling with them. There was nothing quite like it.

Luxos himself brought his focus back to the battle, his eyes settling on Skaro, who had pretty much annihilated his opponent. He sat there, preening his feathers. The Spearow knew it wouldn’t be any issue for him, and he had turned out to be correct.

“Oh my word,” Luxos muttered to himself, giving a weak laugh as Don said how strong Skaro was. Against a bug type, it definitely was an advantage.

“T-thank you, I guess so. Well done, Skaro.”

Luxos then pulled out his Pokeball and returned him to it. He looked down to Gallifrey, who had been quietly and patiently waiting at her trainer’s feet.

“Hey Gallifrey, did you want to take this battle?”

The little seedlings ruby red eyes lit up, excitement showing on her face. Another battle, she would do her absolute best!

“Bulba!” she cried out happily, jumping out onto the battle area.

“How about you start off with a Leech Seed?”

She nodded and turned to aim at the Caterpie.

Don was getting visibly excited as Luxos made a comment about the silk covered pokémon evolving. “That’s what I love about bug types, how quickly they change! They’re often underestimated, and then they turn out to be incredible!” Don said, cheering with excitement. “I keep seeing those trainers from other towns come to talk to the Pokémon whiz in that lab, and they always get these pokémon that take forever to evolve, like your Bulbasaur!” Don said, smiling proudly at the caterpie on the battlefield. As the bulbasaur stepped forward, Bugcatcher Don watched its movements carefully. “Lets get the speed advantage, Caterpie! Hit that bulbasaur with a String Shot!”

Bulbasaur fired the seeds out towards the caterpie, they landed on the the worm pokémon, and dug into its skin a little. Don grinned, “That attack didn’t do much to a caterpie as strong as mine!” The caterpie looked proud as its trainer laid the compliments on it, and started to reel back, then lurched forward as sticky, silky string shot from its mouth flying towards the small bulbasaur. From inside the net, the cocooned pokémon also let out a spurt of string which flew haphazardly out between the holes of the net. “Ah! Don’t you use string shot too!” Don shouted, blocking the sticky string from interfering with the fight, ending up getting covered in the string himself. “I’ve gotta win this fight fair and square to show that bug pokémon are the best!” 

The seeds stuck in the caterpie suddenly sprouted, absorbing energy from the pokémon, Gallifrey feels energized!
