They didn't have to wait long for the runaway Farfetch'd to appear. It had first given away it's position by it's green and white leek, a runaway stalk parading through the underbrush and leaves. Anapa saw right through the ruse and instead focused on what the cause was. The duck Pokemon slowly followed, it's head popped out of the underbrush like it was it's own fresh vegetable to pluck. If there was somewhere to grow something, this Knoll would've been perfect for it. All the matted (and some rotten) leaves under Sam's feet solidified that.
"Oh! Look!" Sam pointed forward, almost startled at the sudden duck bird. Was it a duck? She wasn't entirely sure, but it didn't necessarily matter. "I don't suppose it wants to come with us, but it's worth a shot..." the trainer grumbled, crouching down to Farfetch'd level and holding her hand out. She tried to make herself look ridiculously friendly and inviting, and with Anapa being so little there wasn't much danger there, right? "I don't suppose you'd like to come with us, would you?" Sam asked, staring at the bird.
It blinked back and took a few steps backwards before eyeing both the Riolu and her trainer. Pushing herself back up off her knees, Sam brushed off her legs and shrugged. It was certainly worth a shot, right? "My attempts at keeping diplomacy alive... oh well. I don't want to have to knock it out, but I guess we will have to drag it or something..." The girl trailed off at the idea of having to drag the duck the entire way. If only she still kept that horse Pokemon Justin had let her borrow. She probably could've propped the duck up like she'd hunted it on the back of Ponyta. Well, okay maybe not. Flames. Disregard.
Anapa crossed her paws in front of her in a fighting stance, sweeping them down to her sides in a display of power and eagerness. Sam, however, picked her up and put her on her own shoulder. "Sorry Anapa, but I think that duck is a little bit too much of a challenge for you. I think we can learn a few things from this battle though from the rest of the team, hows that sound?" She expected a disappointed reply from Anapa, due to how Commander had been acting, but the little pup gave a curt nod and studied forward, eyes scanning the battlefield before the actual event started.
"A studious Pokemon? Am I really that lucky?" She chuckled, giving Anapa a little scratch under her chin before releasing her first Pokemon into battle. Icarus glided down to the ground after the immediate flash of bright light, free from his Capsule. It was evident he was slightly bothered by yet another Pokemon vying for Sam's shoulder, but if he was battling then it wouldn't make much difference. He wouldn't be on her shoulder in the battle anyways.
"Hey bud! We need to faint this Farfetch'd and get him back to Sylvester. Think you can do that for me?" She asked the little Emolga, whose cheeks flittered with a bit of electricity before turning with a wag of his tail. Farfetch'd probably knew what was coming since Emolga obviously looked like an electric type, but Icarus had plenty of tricks up his sleeve. She'd share the burden through the whole team so nobody felt left out. In order to do that.. "Icarus! Start out with a Volt Switch! Tag team with Commander, who needs to follow up with a Flame Charge." She said, half to Icarus and half to her belt where she knew the Torracat sat in wait. "Anapa, pay attention okay? You'll be used in combos like this later on, when you're big and strong." Sam flexed her muscles to make a point while her Pokemon began the battle.
-600 to Incubator- Lucky Egg on Torracat, please. Icarus/Emolga using Volt Switch, Switching out for Torracat. Torracat using Flame Charge if Farfetch'd somehow lives. (Running Shoes x2) EXP Share on Anapa/Riolu.

Farfetch'd, if it was intimidated by the Pokemon Sam was traveling with, didn't betray any emotion aside from its steely determination not to go back. Having tasted freedom, it intended to enjoy every moment and was not about to let a human and a young pup of a Pokemon, or her scarier friends, change its mind. Gripping its leek even more tightly, Farfetch'd waited for its chance to move in and teach whatever Pokemon to fight it a good lesson. Icarus' appearance threw it off slightly - Anapa's intent had made it assume she would be the one on the receiving end of its makeshift weapon. Uttering a short squawk, the bird made to step forward, only for Icarus to make the first move in a dazzling display of speed.
Cloaking his body in a shroud of electricty, Icarus leapt up as high as he could from the ground and sped towards the wayward duck. It had been backing up hastily upon seeing the electricity, but not quickly enough as the Emolga slammed into Farfetch'd hard enough to send the pair tumbling a good distance away. Disentangling himself from his opponent, Icarus was ready to let Commander in on the action, pausing when he realized the bird wasn't stirring at all. Oops. But it would make it easier to find the other missing Farfetch'd in a timely manner, since this one had been felled in one shot. Perhaps Sam's luck, if she saw it that way, would hold for the next fight. Regardless, Farfetch'd was down for the count and prime for snatching up to return to one Sylvester.
