Pine Gap: Penelope Farfetch'd Encounter #2

Suddenly hearing a noise, Penelope went to investigate and found out where the second Farfetch'd was. Not surprisingly, this avian was also a bold one, as it pointed is leek at her to imitate a challenge. Happily accepting the bird's challenge, the young trainer stepped back a bit and was ready to call out her Pokemon.

However, surprisingly, her Vivillon flew forward this time to accept the battle, or at least, to start the battle. Although this was a bit of a type disadvantage situation, Penelope happily let her Pokemon give it a try, and ordered Horizon to start off with a Psybeam. Horizon stared at the bird and began focusing her mental energy at the opponent.

Farfetch'd could hardly believe it's eyes as Horizon flew over towards it. The warrior like bird Pokemon did not know if laughing was an appropriate response or not as it was hardly an intimidating nor worthy of it's time. As Farfetch'd lowered it's guard for just a moment thinking it was safe Horizon made her move. She fired multi colored beams out of her eyes aimed at Farfetch'd who could not hop out of the way in time as the attack scored a direct hit dead center. Psybeam did not do a lot of damage but it was enough for Farfetch'd to not lower it's guard again. Now was time for some revenge and Farfetch'd had a nasty surprise waiting for Horizon to think it was not in range of an attack.

Horizon flew back towards Penelope not noticing that Farfetch'd was right behind her ready to strike. The moment she turned around she regretted it as Farfetch'd unleashed a very powerful Slash attack causing a huge amount of damage and instigating fear in Horizon now that she had seen it's potential. The bird Pokemon was very pleased with the results of the attack. Everything had gone according to plan and now it could get ready to give Penelope's Pokemon another taste of it's leek. For such a simple weapon Horizon had paid dearly but this battle was far from over. Farfetch'd still had not knocked out a single one of Penelope's Pokemon but it could feel in it's gut that it would soon enough.

Penelope watched as the Vivillon started with a Psybeam attack, only for her to be attacked by the Farfetch'd's powerful leek attack. While she sometimes enjoyed eating leek as a flavoring to her food, she did not think that such a simple vegetable could pack a whack. She called out to her bug Pokemon, simply for the Vivillon to take a break from this delinquent avian.

"Horizon, that Farfetch'd is strong! Come back and let Zuroy take care of this, okay? Zuroy, now go with an Aqua Tail!" She hollered and had her Pokemon swapped. The bug Pokemon flew behind Penelope, as the buoyant bunny stepped forward, and charging up some surging water on her tail before she dashed forward to swing her tail with her power.

The Farfetch'd thought it had come close to winning it's freedom after the first slash attack. It was a really powerful strike but it had not accounted for Penelope having more than one Pokemon. As she recalled Horizon she sent out a far more strange looking Pokemon to take it's place. The giant blue rabbit was not too thrilled to see the bird take a cheap shot at her friend but before she could do anything about it Farfetch'd went into attack mode again. The leek it was holding was not in the best of shape after the first hit but it was still quite a dangerous weapon. Zuroy was about to find that out as the bird charged forward.

Farfetch'd unleashed another Slash attack this time on Zuroy but despite it's best efforts she was far more well built then Horizon. The attack was only a minor inconvenience but it still left a scratch across her stomach. As she recovered from the attack her tail suddenly became drenched with water as she rushed towards the bird. She lifted up her tail and slammed it down on Farfetch'd as the bird toppled over. The mighty warrior bird had at last fallen despite it's best efforts. Now all Penelope had to do was return it to Sylvester so she could claim her reward.

Horizon fought well and gained 1 level and she is now level 23. She gained +1 happiness and she now has +4 happiness overall.

Zuroy fought well and gained 1000 experience. She now has 1250/1951 experience needed to level up. She also gains +1 happiness and she now has +12 happiness overall.

Smacked by the power of the Azumarill's drenched tail, the Farfetch'd quickly fell into unconsciousness. Penelope cheered on happily as the second Farfetch'd was found, and readied to bring it back to Sylvester. She thanked her Pokemon for their help, and gave them a big hug before walking forward to pick up the fainted avian. The Farfetch'd wasn't heavy at all! She also decided to kept her Pokemon out in the Pokeball to enjoy the forest. It wasn't like there would be anyone out here seeing her Pokemon and challenging her in a battle, unlike having Pokemon out in a city or outside a city.
