Things were happening too fast for Sam to keep track of. The loud smacking of the wood being cut rang through the forest as she glanced around, attemping to find the source of the ruckus. Farfetch'd had to be around here somewhere, and it was up to her to find it. Anapa seemed to be taken aback by the loud noise, albeit momentarily. It wasn't until she cried out, startled, that Sam had stopped. There was a leek mere inches from her nose. When she blinked, bright duck eyes stared back at her as the angry Farfetch'd practically dared her to move.
Her first emotion was shock. What in the world was that?
Her second emotion was fear. Had she taken another step, that Farfetch'd would've slashed her face!
Her last emotion was amusement. Was that really a leek in her face?
She let out a little chuckle which sounded more nervous than she would've liked before taking a few steps back to avoid any follow up slashes. Anapa bristled angrily, and it seemed as though she'd learned enough from the first battle to take care of it from here. Sam didn't want the little pup to get hurt though, so she was forced to watch again. With how aggressive this particular Farfetch'd was, it was best to not treat it as a training exercise. "Don't be upset Anapa. I want to take care of this bird quickly, i'm not comfortable with how aggressive it is." Which was true. To outright attack like that... even if it had missed... Farfetch'd would've been fine if it had hit Sam and scared her off, and that's what bothered her. Was Sylvester really that bad? "It's a good thing i've got badges... damn."
The pokeballs at her side merely waited for commands. Who could she use? Icarus was the obvious choice, although she was curious if anybody else would be able to handle the aggressive bird. Assuming it used all of the strongest attacks it had, Blue was probably the second best guess. There was a slight fear though. She didn't want to unlock any uh, primal rage that Blue may be hiding. So far she was pretty docile. That might not be the case later, though. Besides, Blue didn't have much going for her offensively. It would take some time before she'd be a front-line fighter.
Commander was too fresh of an evolution. The ducks probably had some levels on him so they'd need to play it safe for now until things smoothed over and he got some fights under his belt. Losing to the bird would probably crush him, and she needed him in top shape when it came to the next trek through Ilex... which was hopefully to get through it. That would be a long journey and she needed all of her Pokemon at peak condition physically and mentally.
Joka was a good option, but most of her moves probably wouldn't do much for her in this battle. Farfetch'd could slash pretty hard, as she almost found out. Anapa was just too young, too. "Alright, guess it's you again Icarus! Your lucky day!" The strongest fighter came out, the tiny little yellow glider. Icarus zapped his cheeks happily before rubbing them against Sam's pants leg. Another bird was in front of him, but he didn't seem to mind. He'd taken the first one down easily enough, the second shouldn't be mad. "Pay attention, Anapa. Observe the points that Icarus dives for. They're vulnerable, and therefore the easiest to hit for immobilizing. It'll be useful for future battles." Anapa nodded, and Icarus gave a thumbs up to the pup on Sam's shoulder. "Volt Switch with Anapa! Anapa, if the Farfetch'd isn't gone after this attack, use your strongest Quick Attack!"
The pup, excited to get switched out, gave a nod and hopped down. Icarus snickered and looked over to the bird. It looked as though the glider wasn't going to give Anapa a chance.
Emolga using Volt Switch, switching with Riolu and using Quick Attack if Farfetch'd still lives.

The daring Farfetch'd huffed loudly, the rush of air coming out of its bill near a snort as it nimbly shuffled back away from the trainer in preparation of the oncoming attack. While Samantha took an age to decide on which of her own pokémon would be mon enough to take it on the avian expertly flourished its leek. Twirls a plenty and fancy footwork as it warmed itself up by slashing at the bushes immediately around itself. It was ready. There was no possible way this girl and her team of babies were going to take it back to Sylvester to work. It had its freedom! When Icarus was called to combat the ignorant duck it gave another huff and readied. Adjusting its position as a sort of engarde stance Farfetch'd narrowed its gaze and locked onto the squirrel. Or so it tried to. As Farfetch'd blinked the emolga seemed to disappear from sight, launching himself up into the sky with a crackle of electricity snapping through the clearing. That didn't sound good. A shiver of fear tickled the duck's spine as its eyes shot upward, trying to hide its surprise. Icarus was floating, aided by the flap of skin extending from his arms and sides, and building up a ton of energy. With a squack the Farfetch'd raised its own wings and made an attempt to dodge out of the way. It could feel the static charge in its legs. It knew what was about to happen. Sadly its efforts were for naught. Icarus zipped down, connected his electrifying attack, then rebound with blinding speed. Anapa was ready to tag in, deftly observing her experienced comrade and ready to jump onto the scene. However, what remained as their opponent was a sizzling fowl. Momentarily stuck in an awkward have lunging position before a jolt of sparkling electricity bounced around it and loosened the poor beast's muscles enough to allow it to comfortably crumble to the ground. Icarus gained 1000 XP and +1 Happiness! (+7) Anapa watched studiously and gained a level! (+3)
Farfetch'd is unconscious! Take it back to Sylvester for a reward
