As she was walking, she saw an arm dangling from the tree branch above. It took her a few seconds to remember where she saw it before, but when she remembered it, it was a Slakoth. She watched in amusement, as it was apparently trying to scratch an itch, and then fell to the ground. This Pokemon looked quite oblivious and naive, as it was just staring at her without budging, while other Pokemon that she would encountered would lash out attacking or got into position or something.
"Ooh, a Slakoth..." She commented as she was staring at this lazy but kind of cute Pokemon. Little did she know, her Bellsprout had stepped forward, and began launching Bullet Seed at the foe. Not that the Slakoth was annoying or aggressive, but the Bellsprout was trying to get dips in an attack before the Azumarill make a move this time.

Still dangling lazily on the branch, Slakoth's attention was riveted on Penelope, or at least that appeared to be the case. It could have always just been simply lacking the energy to pay attention to its immediate surroundings, and didn't care enough to divert its focus from the curious human visitor. Offering a silly smile to the trainer, Slakoth began to undo its death-grip on the tree that kept it from being easy pickings on the forest floor, unaware of Narctar moving forwards on spindly little legs and taking aim at it. Given how unhurried Slakoth appeared, the Bellsprout had a rather huge target for training fodder, and he wasn't going to let any other of Penelope's Pokemon take the glory this time.
Inhaling sharply, Narctar tilted his head forwards and let loose a barrage of seeds that struck Slakoth directly on one cheek. Startled, the sloth Pokemon wobbled unsteadily and nearly dropped clean off the branch, head spinning round to find out what had just hit it. But the Bellsprout was far from done, spewing out more high-velocity seeds in four quick bursts, each scoring hits on his 'opponent'. Grip having loosened with each subsequent blow, Slakoth uttered a soft groan before it fell to the ground, hitting the leafy ground with a soft plop. Narctar flared his leaves out triumphantly, too delighted with his battling prowess to care about much else.

As the Slakoth was dangling precariously, and then finally fell over from the Bullet Seed, Penelope was surprised to see her grass type stepping up against another Slakoth. The twiggy Bellsprout was quite shorter than Penelope, and if you weren't looking or paying attention, the grass type could blend into the natural scenery of Ilex Forest quite well.
"Wow, good job, Narctar?" Penelope commented, but she wasn't sure if her Pokemon protecting her against such a defenseless looking Pokemon needed a congratulation. However, that didn't stop the Bellsprout from standing proudly from his victory. The young trainer gave the cute normal type, now defeated, a rub on the head for greeting. Then, she resumed wandering through Ilex Forest to return the Farfetch'd.
