Operation: Overkill(F)

As Kevin and his team reached Violet City he made a quick stop at the Pokemon Center in the city to take out an item from his PC. As the disc shaped object popped out he handed it to Samantha and explained to her what it was. " That there is TM 29 Psychic and if you use it you can learn the move a lot faster than you could normally." Samantha could not act fast enough to grab hold of the disc and using her psychic powers learn the contents of the disc without requiring headphones or anything else. Her mind was filled with the knowledge of the attack as she performed it to lift Kevin in the air. She was not a psychic type yet so it was not as strong as it could be but at least she knew the move ahead of time. After putting Kevin back on the ground and with that business settled they made their way to the Pokemon Center on Route 32.

Though there were plenty of Pokemon and trainers on the route the one they were after was located in the very same Pokemon Center they were heading to. " The stronger trainer we are looking for is said to be a breeder who uses rather unique rules for battling her from what I have been told as she will only do 2 versus 2 battles. If that rumor is true Oracle and Samantha, you two will be the ones I use. Now let's find her." Shortly after entering the Pokemon Center they spotted a young lady who seemed to match the description of the trainer they were looking for and they approached her. Kevin went to introduce himsrlh while also asking her for a battle.

" My name is Kevin and if the rumors are true I hear you are quite a powerful trainer. Oracle and Samantha here are looking for a tough opponent to battle and I would love to challenge you." As he waited for the breeder to respond Oracle was already in position to battle. The Blackbelt tied around her waste increased her energy to extremely high levels as she began building up an Aura Sphere. As soon as the breeder sent out her Pokemon Oracle was ready to strike. " Oracle start things off fast with Aura Sphere and if you do not knock out her Pokemon use it again." He said as Oracle launched her attacks.



OOC: Oracle is equipped with the Blackbelt. Using TM 29 on Samantha to learn Psychic by forgetting Ember. Requesting a battle with Breeder Beth, Oracle uses Aura Sphere x2 and Running Shoes are now exhausted for this battle. Also noting that Oracle cannot be flinched due to her ability if Fake Out is used against her.

[Lamont]

Beth had just finished transferring some items around in her PC when Kevin approached. She smiled at the burly man and listened to his intro quietly. Her eyes moved across his pokémon as he mentioned them, giving each Oracle and Samantha a pleasant smile as well.
"Do people really say that about me? Well," she paused to chuckle. This man looked more than formidable. "I don't know how I'll match up but I'd be happy to battle you. Though, we should probably take this outside."

Beth led the way out of the Pokécenter, making sure to keep the entrance clear in case any other trainers wandered in in need of party healing.
"This seems like a good spot," she started again, placing down a bucket she was carrying and drawing two pokéballs. "Now let me introduce my two friends: Lombre and Exeggcute!"

Both of the breeder's pokémon appeared, one at each of her sides. They looked very healthy and definitely a step above what you'd expect to find along route 32. They chirped happily and Beth gave them each a pet before giving Lombre the signal to move forward. "I assume you're already aware of my battle rules given your introduction of just two of your team," she giggled, "I'll be starting with my Lombre."


The girl was pretty sure this was going to be one sided just seeing the shape of Kevin's two chosen pokémon. The look of determination, the muscle toning... both Oracle and Samantha had been trained well it was clear for her to see. Still, it was an opportunity she wasn't going to run from. Kevin gave his orders and she followed suit.
"Okay Lombre, lets keep up our energy with a Giga Dragin!"

Oracle was the first to start to no one's surprise. In a flash her eyes lit up to track Lombre's aura so there was no way she could miss, and in her hands formed a sphere of force that she swiftly sent flying after the lily pad pokémon. With a quack the water-grass type was thrown to his back. Beth gasped, a hand going to her mouth as she called her pokémon's name in question of his well being. Lombre groaned. He rolled over to his side and pushed himself to his feet. Slapping his fists together he focused in on the fighting type and began to use its grassy power to suck some vitality from Oracle. It didn't end up being much, the lucario able to resist the drain, but it was something.

"Good job Lombre. Let's make more of a splash this time with your waterfall!"

But Oracle was too fast for him. With another flare a second aura sphere collided with lombre and sent him to the ground again. This time, though, Lombre wasn't able to get back on his feet.

After stepping outside to start the battle Kevin was more than intrigued to see what kind of moves Lombre might use against Oracle. He had never really used a Lombre or any of its family members before and besides knowing it was both a grass and water type and that they were not known for being very powerful. After seeing the first Aura Sphere hit its mark he was very impressed to see Lombre get back up and use Giga Drain which caught him a bit off guard. Oracle did not take very much damage from the attack but he knew how dangerous the move could be in the right situations. Even after restoring some hp however Lombre did not look very good and Kevin was hoping Oracles next hit would knock it out.

As she fired again Lombre went down and this time did not get back up and Kevin's face lit up like a Christmas Tree in joy knowing his risky move had paid off. " Great job Oracle, that Lombre fought well but in the end it just could not match your strength. Let's give Samantha a turn before she burns the whole region down out of frustration." He said as the vixen swapped places with Oracle ready to hold nothing back. Her opponent was part grass type and that was all she needed to know. She did not even have to wait for Kevin to know which move to use. She opened her mouth as a giant flame started to build inside and waited for Kevin's permission to fire.

" I know you already know what to do here but for the sake of tradition use Flmaethrower on that Exeggcute." As he gave his order Oracle felt bad for the egg Pokemon having little doubt that Samantha was going to burn it to a crisp to blow off some of her steam. " Oh goodness, that poor thing is going to get scrambled if Samantha has her way. That poor thing is really going to have a bad day." Kevin did not say a word but deep down he knew that using Samantha was complete overkill in this round. Even as Oracle and Kevin watched they were both amazed by the size of the flame that came from Samantha's mouth heading straight for the grass type Pokemon across from her. " It sure feels good seeing a strong Flamethrower like that. Very few Pokemon your age are so good at using it." 




OOC: Samantha is sent out and she uses Flamethrower on Exeggcute. 

[Lamont]

"Oh dear," Beth murmured, still a smile on her face but a hand went to her cheek as she saw her lombre, without a doubt, completely unconscious. "That's quite the attack you have there Oracle." The breeder withdrew her pokémon and carefully stowed away the ball in her apron pocket. At least they were right by a pokécenter, cause she was going to need it here sooner than she had anticipated.

"That means you're up Exeggcute! Be careful with this one though, alright? Don't let your guard down," she instructed in a motherly fashion. Samantha was eager to go, as displayed by her already having a ball of fire crackling in her mouth before Kevin had even decided on a plan of action. That could either mean an itchy trigger finger, or a very strong bond between the pair. Beth hoped it was the latter.

The set of pinkish eggs jumped forward, all with stern looks and a determination to show their stuff. Beth wrung her hands. It would all come down to who was faster. If Samantha didn't threaten a type advantage the skilled breeder would probably have secured that advantage with a stun spore, but here there could be no turn wasted on setting up for the future; cause there may not be a second turn.
"Alright Exeggcute, no holding back. We're starting this off with a punch! Use your Psychic!"

Beth's pokémon did its best to collect itself and its psychic energies, but Samantha was already prepared before the fight even began. She practically erupted in a horizontal column of flame that scorched the tips of the grass. Her unbridled frustration of the past adventure finally had a target so she held nothing back; though that rage did more damage than just to Exeggcute. After it was finished Kevin would find Beth had dived to the side to avoid getting licked by the edges of such a torrent, and the trees behind were scorched. Needless to say Samantha's opponent had been dealt with.

The breeder quickly crawled the short distance to her pokémon and stroked a few of the blackened eggs. "You tried your best guys," she whispered before sending the grass type back into its ball and standing to face Kevin. Beth clapped her hands together once and put her smile back on. "I knew you were going to be tough but wow, the power difference was more than I had imagined. You've taken very good care of your team Kevin."

Following the praise Beth dipped a hand into another of her pockets and withdrew a small bundle of stuff.
"Here, I'd like you to have these. I know you could make good use of it all."

After that she said farewell and slipped back into the pokémon center to heal up her two pokémon.

As the Exeggcute fell in defeat Kevin was really pleased by both Oracle's and Samantha's performance. They were not far off from being ready to challenge the next gym but first they would have to get through the Union Cave. Before doing that however he had to thank Beth for her time and a great battle. " That was quite an exciting battle, you were pretty strong yourself compared to most of the trainers in these parts. Had it not been for me having such powerful Pokemon you could have given me a real run for my money. I may have won but if I am ever in the area again I would gladly have a rematch if you would like." He said as he started to walk away and made his way towards the entrance of the Union Cave.

" This cave sure is in a weird spot not being very far away from that fishing jetty over there, once we get a fishing rod we should come back and try our luck. We might find a few interesting Pokemon there." Oracle said as Kevin smiled in agreement. He was not much of a fisherman but he knew that water type Pokemon could be a very nice addition to his team later on. For now however the cave was the only thing on his mind as he wanted to get through it and to Azalea as soon as he could. Samantha had finally calmed down after her battle but was still looking for something else to battle as was Oracle since they both needed a bit more practice before the next gym.

As luck would have it Oracle picked up on a familiar aura shortly after they entered the cave as she started to growl. " I can sense that moron we ran into in New Bark Town is nearby. I still hate him even after we defeated him last time. Now that I have evolved I should be able to put him in his place the moment we see him." After they turned a corner in the cave they could see Silver and Kevin. " Oracle hand me your Blackbelt for a bit and take this Lucky Egg instead so you can get an extra level when you fight his Pokemon." He said as Silver noticed him and he started to talk to the young man.

" So you show up again? I guess the last time I defeated you the lessons I tried to teach you went over your head. Fair enough as a Riolu is not as mighty as a Lucario and you did not see Oracle at her full strength but we shall fix that right now. Oracle I want you to use Flash Cannon twice regardless of what he sends out." Kevin said as Oracle got ready to strike with one hand while holding the Lucky Egg with the other.



OOC: Transfering the Lucky Egg from Tyler to Kevin and replacing Oracle's Blackbelt with the Lucky Egg. Requesting a battle with Silver. Oracle uses Flash Cannon x2 exhausting the Running shoes for this battle.

As the sound of footsteps reached his ears Silver turned his gaze aside to see a familiar face he was really hoping to see again. That smug grin slipped across his face as he delved a hand into his pocket and assumed a posh stance. The red head listened to the man's spiel with as much enthusiasm as the first time. Seemed Silver wasn't the only one who hadn't changed.

"If I listened to every one of your kind of people nothing would ever get done. You lot love to run your mouths about these ideals but it's just talk," he replied dismissively. In reality he was more interested in Oracle. His cold gaze often falling on the rare pokémon with a sparkle of lust. If he could just have a pokémon like that... The things he could accomplish. No one would be able to challenge him. His dream to change the world would be firmly in his grasp if that was the case but... sadly he was stuck with whatever he could find derping about in the wilds. Just the sight of Kevin with the lucario made his blood boil.

"Get out here zubat. Time to prove your worth, confuse that lucario. Now." The order was stern, and the small bat knew if he didn't achieve success he would only fall in further in the eyes of his trainer. Sadly for him, before he could let out a peep Oracle's attack was on its way over. True to its name, the cannon shot burst forth in a flash. Zubat was thrown from the sky and knocked out instantly.

"Tch, no surprise there," he mumbled to himself whilst recalling his weakest pokémon. "Fine then," he sighed in annoyance. Silver tossed out another pokémon: Gastly. It fared just as well as his bat. Silver called for a hypnosis but Oracle was able to blindside it before it could bat those big mischievous eyes. "Ugh, they're all useless." Another sigh escaped him. A vein looked to be popping out of his temple at this point.

He just had one more try. One pokémon left. It had a type advantage at this point so it had to win... It was his strongest pokémon. It had to win!

Silver's sending out his Cyndaquil (LV 15)!

As Oracle took out two of Silver's Pokemon in the blink of an eye Kevin nearly felt sorry for the young lad. He might have some anger issues but it was clear that he had not learned his lesson from their first encounter. " I think my ideas might have saved you a bit of embarrassment but if not I am sure by the end of this battle you will finally learn their lesson. Luckily for you I have to save Oracle for my next gym battle so I have to show you a bit of mercy." He said as Oracle stepped back and Samantha took her place ready to try out her Psychic attack for the first time.

" Go get him Samantha, I softened up his resolve but it is up to you to finish the battle. A fire on fire type battle should be interesting." She said as Kevin popped his neck getting ready to end the battle so he could get to Azalea Town as quickly as possible. " Mercy might be a bit took kind of a term now that I think about it but regardless this sure has been a fun though lopsided match." Samantha could hardly wait any longer to get things started as she had a distaste for the young teen and the sooner she put him in his place again the better. " You two can chat later, I want to get this over with and train a bit more so we can take down the Azalea Gym leader before I become an old maid."

Kevin saw no further point in drawing out the match any further as Silver seemed pretty set in his ways but at the same time he hoped some day the young man might find a way past his issues. " Samantha use Psychic and put that poor Cyndaquil out of its misery." He said as Samantha started to build up her Psychic energy. " How lucky you are to be the first victim of my Psychic attack. I feel sorry for your poor Cyndaquil but as for yourself mercy shall not be shown. Prepare to learn why you should never mess with us." She then fired her Psychic attack at the Cyndaquil using every ounce of magical power she had. She just hoped the fire type would not get lucky somehow and annoy her any further than it already had.


OOC: Samantha is sent out and uses Psychic.

[Fallen]

Samantha's Psychic attack just wasn't quite quick enough to land an attack on the opposing fire type before it could land it's own. Before Samantha and Kevin could have even seen it coming, Silver had commanded his Cyndaquil to use Quick Attack. The move didn't deal quite a lot of damage to the Braixen, but it was damage, none the less. It was in his Cyndaquil that Silver had put all hopes of winning onto.

The red headed trainer watched as the Braixen dealt it's own Psychic attack back to the Cyndaquil. A strong attack it was from Kevin's fire-type, even bringing Cnydaquil to fall onto the ground, barely able to keep itself up and going in the battle anymore after even one hit. They Cyndaquil still kept going though. "This isn't looking good..." Silver mumbled to himself. "If only my Pokemon weren't so weak, if only I had stronger Pokemon. This trainer is only winning because of luck." His Cyndaquil would likely only last one more hit against Kevin's Braixen, and then the battle would be over and Silver would lose to the 'weakling' yet another time.

Samantha was a bit disappointed that her first strike had not knocked out the Cyndaquil but figured her lack of typing played the biggest role. Once she evolved into a Delphox and became part psychic type she would be able to make full use of Psychic but even without the added power the move had done an incredible amount of damage. She had not doubts in her mind that her next strike would end this battle so they could reach Azalea town and get ready for the next gym. Even in her rush to end the battle she still felt sorry that Cyndaquil had such a awful trainer and wished things could be different.

" That poor Cyndaquil deserves a far better trainer than that. I give it credit for enduring my first Psychic attack but even then this battle is pretty lopsided. Even that Quick Attack barely left a mark on me despite it really trying. I am sorry Cyndaquil that I must put you through another round of pain because you master will not give up and save you the suffering." As she finished her speech she turned to Kevin waiting for her orders when Oracle commented on the situation.

" That poor Cyndaquil cannot catch a break. It has done nothing wrong and neither has the rest of that brats Pokemon but he deserves every second of torture and humiliation he gets from losing. Samantha be a dear and finish this up. The sooner that Cyndaquil no longer has to endure the pain of facing you the better." Kevin then finally chimed in as even he had started to grow a soft spot for Silver's team. It was not their fault that their trainer had done an awful job of raising them to their full potential.

" That poor Cyndaquil endures such a powerful hit and yet it cannot get any sort of recognition from its moron of a trainer. Luck has not been a factor in this battle at all but rather skill, maybe if you tried raising your Pokemon properly you would not be in such a poor position. Samantha use Psychic one more time and end this battle before this punk makes me sick." Samantha was very relieved by his orders and was quick to comply. " Yes sir, Cyndaquil this is nothing personal but it is time we end this." She said as she fired off another wave of psychic energy.

[Fallen]

All it took was one more attack from Samantha to defeat the red-head's third and final Pokemon. The second Psychic attack finished the small fire-type Pokemon off, leaving him fainted and his trainer disappointed. "You are so pathetic for a Cyndaquil. You are supposed to be stronger than that." It was a wonder how the Cyndaquil had even managed to still hold on after the opposing fire-types first attack, especially with treated by his trainer in such a manner. The poor Pokemon had received nothing but insult for his efforts in the battle from his partner on the battlefield. But of course, Silver didn't see the Cyndaquil as his partner. he saw the Pokemon as a tool for himself to use, and to win with. He owned the Cyndaquil, and it would do whatever he commanded it to do.

Silver thought as he had watched Kevin's Braixen defeat his Cyndaquil seemingly with ease. "I need to grow stronger," Silver said, as he looked down at his Cyndaquil, and then back at Kevin. "I need to stop letting little pesky weaklings like you and your Pokemon beat me!" Silver returned the Cyndaquil to his Pokeball, and spoke as he looked down at the ball. "If only my Pokemon weren't so weak... Pathetic."

Silver walked up to Kevin and handed him 900 Pokedollars for defeating him. "It was only because I let you win... That'll be the last time I ever lose to the likes of you. Next time I won't let you win so easily." Silver hesitated, and then turned to head back to Violet City, predictably to the Pokemon Center to heal his Pokemon. Although he knew his Pokemon were weak, and saw them as tools, he clearly couldn't do much in a battle without those week pokemon being in good health. Pffft... Silver spoke aloud to himself. What does a weakling like him know about raising Pokemon? Telling me how I should raise my Pokemon and lecturing me on how I treat my Pokemon. Hmmf. It'll certainly be the last time I ever lose to him.

Samantha grew to level 22! (+1 Level!)

Samantha would like to learn Fire Spin, but she already knows four moves. Shall a move be forgotten to make room for Fire Spin?



Kevin received 900 Pokedollars for defeating Silver!

After defeating Silver, Kevin was glad to have one less thorn in his side. He had not expected to run into the young man so quickly after entering the cave but by dealing with him now there was nothing else preventing him from reaching Azalea Town now. Kevin and his Pokemon walked through the rest of the cave purposely avoiding anything that might be alive to get through it as quickly as possible. After walking for a few minutes the light at the other end of the cave started to enter their view and they knew they were close to their goal. Before they stepped outside however Kevin needed to make a change to the items Samantha and Oracle were holding.

" Ok Oracle I needed you to let Samantha hold that Lucky Egg for now. You can have your Blackbelt back though you will not be needing it in the next gym. Once we leave this cave we will train Samantha a bit more and then we will be ready for the next gym. From what I recall the gym leader there really likes Bug types so we will really need her fire type moves. Oracle on the other hand can resist their attacks so I do believe you will do pretty well there as well." He said as Oracle handed Samantha the Lucky Egg and then grabbed the Blackbelt from Kevin.

[[color=lightblue[" Do we know what Pokemon live outside f this cave? The route on the other end seems like it had quite a bit going on and it would be unfortunate to run into something that can hold Samantha up."[/color] Oracle said nervously before Kevin answered her. " Do not worry Oracle, I have studied the area and there is really nothing that can give her too much trouble. Whatever her Flamethrower cannot defeat she can use Psychic as an alternate move. I am quite certain there should be no problems." Samantha liked the sound of that as she was hoping to get into more battles anyway and a few easy ones before the next gym sounded good to her.

" So what are we waiting for? I am ready to start bringing down a few sparring partners. The sooner I get a chance at  gym battle the happier I will be. My flames need to burn something before I go crazy." With everyone in agreement the group headed out to route 33 to continue Samantha's training.
