Vör's Awakening(F)

[Marchbaby]

As Marchbaby and his Pokemon reached the streets of Cherrygrove he wasted no time in getting Vör ready for a battle. " I know that using our strategy from New Bark Town is a bit risky here as there are a number of Pokemon I have not captured yet but if it helps you to evolve I am willing to risk it. Be ready to swap out the minute we encounter a Pokemon." He said as Vör lead the way looking for any wild Pokemon that might want to battle. The streets were home to a number of homeless Pokemon and he thought for sure at least one would want to battle.

Alpha began scanning the area looking for any life forms that might be lurking just in case to let Vör know as her aura powers were not quite at their full potential yet. " I am detecting a life form of some kind in the next street over. I cannot tell if it is a Pokemon or a human but either way be ready for a battle Vör." It said as Vör stood next to an empty building waiting for Marchbaby to give her an official order before picking a fight with whatever was behind the building. Alpha was ready to strike as well and Marchbaby thought that it was worth the risk to ambush whatever was there. It was not the most honorable tactics but they were so close to her evolving that they were willing to be a tiny bit on the sneaky side in order to help her evolve as much as Marchbaby usually hated sneaky tactics.

" Vör you go around the corner first and after whatever it is spots you swap out with Alpha. It can use Bullet Punch to bring it down and hopefully you will get enough experience to evolve after the battle once I give you the two slices of birthday cake I have." He said as the young Riolu started to walk around the corner while Alpha took her place next to the abandoned building. It's right arm was stretched out ready to punch whatever they were about to encounter. " Alright I am ready to go whenever you are Vör. I kinda feel bad for whatever we encounter but whatever it will will learn a good lesson about being unprepared to battle." It said as it waited for the battle to begin.

The skies above were blue, with nothing but bird pokemon flying around and the sun beating down on the City of Fragrant Flowers. The heat alone was enough to make a person exhausted. Even a hot day was not enough to stop a wild Spearow from looking to cause some trouble or start a fight, though. Little did this Spearow know, however, it was exactly what a trainer and his very strong Pokemon were looking for. A battle with a weak little Spearow to level up his Pokemon a bit.

One thing was for sure - Vör definitely was a weaker looking opponent than Alpha to a Pokemon looking for a challenge and to start a fight. Even to a tiny little bird pokemon like the Spearow. It seemed up to the challenge the Riolu would bring; However, it was in no way ready for what was to come next. The Spearow dove down from the skies in the direction of the Riolu, growling as it flew downward. Before the Spearow could attack the Riolu, though, the fighting-type pokemon was called back to its Pokeball. A large metal pokemon took the spot of where the Riolu once was. There was no way the Spearow could stop mid-flight now, and it already knew the disastrous outcome that was about to present itself. One massive punch from the Metang was all it took to send the Spearow flying backwards and back onto the city streets. The Spearow made a small squawking noise and wiggled a bit before finally fainting.

After defeating the unfortunate Spearow Alpha turned around to scan Vör to see if she was ready to evolve with the benefit of Marchbaby's two Birthday Cakes and sure enough the robotic Pokemon concluded that she was. " Master my scan indicates that Vör will have a high enough bond with you if you give her the two slices of Birthday Cake that you have. They are even big enough to share with two other Pokemon on our team." With that in mind Marchbaby headed to the local Pokemon Center as he would have to swap out one of his Pokemon to make the most of the Birthday cakes.

Before he made any swap he took out the first slice of cake and split it three ways between Vör, Shocker and Alpha to boost both their happiness and level by one each and then he placed Shocker into his PC so that he could take out Atropos to share the slice with both her, Vör, and Alpha before swapping out Atropos for Shocker again. A few seconds later Vör began to glow in a bright white light as she started to grow taller as she evolved into a Lucario. The sight of the aura Pokemon nearly caused Marchbaby to faint as his dream of owning a Lucario had finally come true. When he finally caught his breath he ran up and hugged Vör before he spoke.

" You finally did it Vör, your hard work has paid off after all this time. Now I can use this TM for Flash Cannon on you so you can finally learn it." Marchbaby's second shock then came as Vör started to speak using telepathy for the first time. " My powers, they have grown so much, the aura flows through me like a river now. Oh how wonderful this moment is. Now I can finally hold my own without relying on help." Marchbaby almost hit the floor again at the sound of her voice. As the shock finally wore off Marchbaby decided to continue the hunt for the Pokemon he was after with Vör's help. " Oh goodness there is so much to discuss but first there are still two Pokemon I would like to capture if you are willing to help Vör.? Vör jumped at the chance as she nodded before they headed back out to the streets of Cherrygrove to find the Pokemon they were after.



OOC: Using the two birthday cakes. The first on Shocker, Vör, and Alpha and the other on Atropos, Vör, and Alpha. Vör evolves into Lucario learning Power Up Punch, Aura Sphere, and Force Palm andusing the Flash Cannon TM on her as well. Alpha grows to level 31 with 0/2977 exp needed to level up. Vör is now level 15 with +15 happiness, Shocker is now level 32 with 0/3169 exp needed to level up and +13 happiness and Atropos is now level 30 with 0/2791 exp needed to level up and +13 happiness.Keeping Alpha's current moves.

Even after the Riolu evolved into the Lucario, it would not stop the challenging Pokemon from coming again. In fact, this time, it was another Spearow, almost exactly like the first. At least it would most likely be an easy defeat for Marchbaby and his pokemon, just as the first one had been as well. The spearow gave a loud squawking sound as it landed in front of the trainer and his Lucario. Clearly, the tiny bird was being rather brave and perhaps a little headstrong in the situation at hand. What chance did the Spearow stand against a Pokemon as mighty as a Lucario?

The Spearow gave an eager look at both Marchbaby and Vör and made a few rather high-pitch cries. This Spearow was always up to a battle, always ready to start a fight, no matter who the opponent would be or how strong they were. Maybe the Spearow thought it actually stood a chance at defeating the Lucario? It was a rather boastful Spearow if that was what he thought.

The appearence of a Spearow was not very surprising to Marchbaby as he knew they were a common species in the area and Vör seemed to be a magnet for them. The good news about this one was that it was strong enough for Vör to benefit fighting it and now that she was finally able to hold her own instead of relying on swapping out with a partner it would be the first time she could fight a battle all her own. Marchbaby still wanted to make sure Vör did not do anything too risky so he gave her some advice before the battle could begin.

" Ok Vör you should be able to handle this Spearow without too much trouble but do be careful as they are a very aggressive bird Pokemon. Your partial steel typing should help as it will not be able to do super effective damage with flying type moves against you but if it gets lucky it can still pack quite a punch. Try and bring it down in a single hit if you can." He said as he turned to watch the battle that was about to begin when Vör started to speak. " I will try, it is wonderful to finally be able to do this now that my move pool has been greatly expanded. Not having to rely on Quick Attack anymore is a big help. Which move should I try on this Spearow first?" She asked as Marchbaby thought it over for a moment.

He knew both Aura Sphere and Flash Cannon would do normal damage but because Aura Sphere had no chance of missing under normal circumstances and it being a move Lucario were famous for that she should try it first. " Try and use Aura Sphere first. It should do quite a bit to a Spearow judging by your level difference and there should be no chance of you missing even on a blazing hot day like this." Vör thought that using Aura Sphere was a good idea as well as she responded to his orders. " That sounds like a plan to me, it will be good practice to try and control my aura now that my powers are far greater than they were when I was a Riolu. Look out Spearow here it comes." Vör then fired an Aura Sphere at the bird hoping to score a direct hit.

The headstrong Spearow charged at Vör, getting prepared to use Peck on the Lucario. It squawked as it charged, not hesitating for a moment or showing any kind of fear in regards to the opponent he had challenged. It's wings flapped quickly as the Spearow recklessly grew closer to Vör.

As it would appear, the Spearow's challenge against the aura Pokemon did not end up going so well for it. The pokemon quickly landed its own attack on the Spearow before it could even have the chance to make its first move. One direct hit of a aura blast released by the Lucario would be enough to finish it off, sending it onto the ground, defeated. This time, Vör had finished the Spearow off entirely by herself, not relying on any help from another one of Marchbaby's Pokemon.

As the Spearow fell in defeat Vör was absolutely amazed by her new powers. Not only did she feel a lot stronger but her confidence had skyrocketed well above its levels from when she was a Riolu. She still felt sorry for the bird as it had no chance against her. As she wiped the sweat off of her forehead she was very eager to get into another battle while still helping Marchbaby in his goal of finding the Pokemon he was after. " Wow I am all fired up right now. I am loving my new found strength and I have only had a single real battle so far. I would like to battle more whenever we do not find what you are looking for."

Marchbaby grinned as he responded to her knowing that she was going to be quite a powerful partner at this rate. " Oh trust me, whenever we encounter a Pokemon I am not after I will let you battle it. You will need the experience for when we get to the next gym leader as I have a feeling both your types will come in handy." With the goal of finding the Pokemon he was after still fresh in his mind Marchbaby kept walking the streets of Cherrygrove hoping to get lucky while starting a conversation to pass the time. " So I do recall reading that Lucario are able to read the aura of people and Pokemon even through walls, would you like to try again as your powers are much stronger?" He asked as Vör jumped at the chance to try again.

" As a Riolu my powers were not enough but now that they are far stronger I would love to try." Her ears then poked up and sideways as she started to read the aura surrounding her. As she did she could pick up on the aura of some living creature about a block away from their location. " I can see something a block away to the east but I cannot quite make out what it is. Maybe if I keep using my powers they will grow enough for me to identify targets at range." She said as Marchbaby nodded. Since they had no other clues as to where they should go they decided to head east towards the location of the one thing Vör was able to pick up on hoping to get lucky.

The Lucario's Aura ability had in fact brought them to a new target, a power that had grown stronger after Vör had evolved from a weaker Riolu. The Lucario no longer had to rely on the rest of her team to protect her as she leveled up, as it seemed. Or at least, it had seemed like she had defeated the poor unfortunate Spearow that had the guts to challenge her with ease. A very gutsy Spearow it was, indeed.

Upon arriving at the target Vör had sensed, the Pokemon and her trainer had stumbled across a more uncommon of a pokemon. This time, it was a snake pokemon. The Ekans hissed at the site of the two, staring un-movingly at Marchbaby and his Lucario. It would seem the snake Pokemon wanted to wait for the Lucario to make the first move. Judging from the Spearow's fate in the previous battle, however, that would unlikely be a smart choice against the much stronger Lucario, that was only growing stronger after each battle. The Ekans curled up, waiting for the Lucario to make its attack.

At first the sight of an Ekans was a bit of a bad omen as Marchbaby knew how venomous their bite could be but he knew the Pokemon in the area were not very strong so with that in mind he was a bit less hesitant to take the snake Pokemon on. Unfortunately Vör was too high leveled to get any benefit from facing the Ekans though this was not too much of a problem for him as there was a Pokemon on his team that could get a small amount of experience from facing it and she needed to train a bit more anyway to catch up with the rest of the team.

" Vör step back, that Ekans will not make you any stronger even if you defeat it but Kamikaze can get a bit of experience by fighting it." He said as he sent out the Weavile. Kamikaze extended her paws with the razor sharp claws pointed right at the snake. She knew it would be no trouble at all to face such a weak Pokemon and she was happy with any experience she could gain. It had been a while since her last battle and her claws needed something to scratch to keep them in tip top shape ahead of their next gym battle.

" Whoa my dear, those are some sharp claws you have. Do me a favor and remind me not to get on your bad side. Those things look like they could slice through solid steel with no effort at all." Kamikaze just grunted too excited to battle again to care about any small talk with the young Lucario. Wanting to get things started the Weavile already started to run towards Ekans ready to strike the very moment that Marchbaby gave her the orders to strike and not wanting to make her waste energy by running Marchbaby issued his orders to get the battle over with.

" Kamikaze you sure do like to jump right into the thick of things the very second fate allows don't you? Alright no point in holding you up as I know speed is your best friend. Use Feint Attack on that Ekans so it can learn why picking a fight with a Weavile is always a mistake unless you come prepared." Having received her orders she started to circle the snake waiting for the right moment to fake it out and then strike with no mercy.

The Ekans watched as the trainer released his Weavile rather than using his Lucario to fight with. The heat of the day on the Cherrygrove streets seemed to be hot enough to melt such an ice Pokemon, but it did not seem like the Ekans would be so lucky to have the sun defeat the Pokemon for it. The Ekans quickly made its way slivering towards the ice and dark-typed Pokemon left and right, preparing to make its attack upon Kamikaze. The Ekans was not quick enough to land the first attack, however.

Before the Ekans could even make its attack the enemy's much higher-leveled Weavile had landed its own attack onto the wild Pokemon, entirely knocking it out and leaving it fainted, after letting out a small hiss. It was quite a wonder as to why the snake Pokemon would have been in the middle of the streets of the small city, rather than hiding in some shady area on the hot day. Maybe the Ekans had just been looking for a challenge of its own? Either way, it had gotten its challenge from the Weavile. A very strong challenge indeed. The Ekans had most certainly not been prepared enough to win a fight with such a strong Weavile.

The Wild Ekans was defeated! Marchbaby's Kamikaze gained 300 Experience Points!

With the Ekans defeated Kamikaze wiped off her claws after defeating the snake in a single blow. She did not gain a whole lot of experience from her victory as expected but the encounter had not been a total waste at least. Marchbaby knew that luck would have to be on his side to run into Pokemon that Vör could benefit from fighting in the city and the Ekans made him really question if he should yet again put his plans to capture the Pokemon he was after on hold until he had a weaker team of Pokemon on him but he decided to stay for a bit longer to see if luck would be on his side.

" Great job Kamikaze, I know it was an easy battle but at least you got a bit of experience. Stick around just in case as I might need you again if we do not encounter a strong enough Pokemon for Vör to battle. Alpha can help too if we encounter a weaker one but I am hoping we get lucky again." As he finished speaking Vör started to read the aura of the surrounding area again when she picked up on the aura of another living being. He aura reading skills were still not powerful enough to make out if it was a human or a Pokemon but either way she was going to try and battle it if it was strong enough.

" I can sense another living being and they are heading this way, it should just be a minute or two before they come into view so staying here might be a good idea if we are hoping for another battle. I just hope this one is a bit stronger than the last one was." She said as she got ready to attack. Kamikaze and Alpha were ready to strike as well as they were going to make sure someone got a benefit from this battle if Vör could not. " That sounds like a good idea to me, once we know for sure what it is we can make up our minds as to who will battle it." Marchbaby said as he started to hear the movement of the living creature heading his way. Marchbaby patiently stood behind Vör quite hopeful that this would not be another weak Pokemon but he knew he would just have to wait and see.

The sound of the Pokemon's small, tiny little legs hitting the ground were not very easy to here, but they could be heard all of the same. Once the Pokemon came into Marchbaby and his Pokemon team's view, it was clear to be a small, pink little kitten Pokemon. It was a Skitty, one that was quite rarer to be found in the wild, especially on the streets of Cherrygrove on a hot day like it was. The Skitty hadn't even seen the trainer quite yet and it was not very easy to tell where the Skitty was heading, if even it knew. It was just hopping along, towards the direction down the street where Marchbaby and his Pokemon awaited it.

As soon as the Skitty did take notice of its surroundings, however, it saw the trainer's Pokemon and stopped. It gave an odd and unsure look towards the trainer, as if it was unsure if it should approach him and his Pokemon or not. The Skitty just seemed to want to enjoy the sunlight and not have to deal with another battle during the hot day, but perhaps being caught would not be a bad thing? One thing was for sure, the Pokemon standing with Marchbaby appeared to be very strong.

The Skitty turned to look behind it, to see if there was anything stopping it from an emergency escape if it became necessary. It then looked back at the trainer, still with a very unsure expression on its face. "Ski-Skitty?"

[Marchbaby]

After running into the Ekans Marchbaby was not expecting to run into anything too rare for a while but when he saw a Skitty he could hardly believe his eyes. It was one of the two Pokemon he was after and he was not going to let it get away if it killed him. It was not a very powerful Pokemon but for breeding purposes and for Pokedex completion purposes it was quite a find. The cat Pokemon seemed to be a bit unsure of what to do after it saw him and he was going to try and take advantage of that as he started to speak to it hoping to leave its mind at ease.

" Well now my dear, what are you doing out here all alone with some many dangerous Pokemon about? A Skitty like yourself could get really badly injured in a place like this without a trainer to look after you. I tell you what I can bring you along with me if you would like and have Vör protect you from anything that might bring you harm. I even have this pretty Quick Ball I can use to keep you safe as well. What do you say? Would you like to come along with me?" He asked as he took out the Quick Ball and got ready to toss it. He did not know how the cat would react but he had Vör by his side just in case.

" I will say it is really cute, after running into that Ekans I know for a fact some dangerous Pokemon live here so I would happily look after Skitty if it decides to come along with us." Alpha even agreed with the idea as it knew that Skitty were not an easy Pokemon to find and it would not likely last long in the city without a trainer. " I can look after it as well. A poor Skitty like this deserves a good home not being stuck out on these streets. The dust storm going on right now makes it even more dangerous for it to be outside. At least Vör and myself are immune to dust storms unlike Skitty." With both of them in agreement and Kamikaze not minding either way Marchbaby aimed at the cat Pokemon and got ready to toss the Quick Ball while it considered his offer. He hoped it would agree to come with him as the ball flew towards Skitty.

The Skitty looked at the trainer, bright-eyed as it listened to Marchbaby's offer and the rest of his Pokemon talk. It seemed excited that it might get to go on an adventure with the trainer and the rest of his Pokemon. It also made the Skitty excited that it wouldn't have to deal with the dust alone anymore or even the scary snake Pokemon that hid around the corners of the town. The Ekans even seemed to be common in the trash cans in which wild Skitty of the town enjoyed playing in. It always ruined the fun for them when the snake Pokemon would jump out and scare them, sometimes even attacking and harming the kitten Pokemon that were just trying to play a nice game of hide and seek together.

Because of its rarity and popularity though, the Skitty also knew that many evil trainers had sought out this Pokemon in order to sell it and saw it only as a monetary item to profit from. That scared the Skitty, to be used like that. But with this trainer, the Skitty felt it wouldn't have to hide from all of these problems anymore, or even have to deal with them alone. After listening to the trainer's Pokemon offer their own words to the Skitty, it seemed to think a little more, not giving a response for a moment. Then the Skitty leaped into the air excitedly, as if it was a way of accepting the offer given by Marchbaby. "Ski-Skitty!" It said with a smile.

As the Quick Ball was thrown at the Skitty, it stared at the ball and tilted its head in awe as it came towards the wild Pokemon. The Pokeball drawed the small feline Pokemon into it, after making contact with the Skitty's head. The Pokeball wiggled a few times, but the Skitty made no effort of escape. It felt it could live a comfortable and happy life with its newly-found trainer and teammates. With a ting, the catch was finalized, and Marchbaby was now the proud owner of an absolutely adorable little Skitty.

Seeing the Skitty leap into the air Marchbaby was not sure if he should be worried that the kitten Pokemon was trying to trick him or if it was accepting his offer. As the Quick Ball locked shut however it became clear that it was accepting his offer and he was very pleased with the outcome as he had avoided having to hurt the kitten and Vör managed to gain a level for standing guard during the capture. Given the kittens rarity in the area he thought for sure it would have fought back as he knew not every trainer would be as nice as he was but he was not going to complain about the Skitty avoiding a fight.

" I was expecting Skitty to fight back being honest but wow this is fantastic news, she will make quite a nice addition to our collection and I am sure we can raise her to her full potential after the next gym. Great job standing guard Vör, I know it was pretty easy this time but you never know how things can go with a rare Pokemon like that. I can tell you got a little stronger so that is a wonderful bonus for us on top of acquiring a Skitty." As the Quick Ball teleported to Marchbaby's box he grabbed the other Quick Ball out of his bag just in case they got lucky enough to encounter the other Pokemon he was after. 

Marchbaby knew that running into Skitty was lucky enough as it was but the other Pokemon was still alluding him so far but he still had some wiggle room to train his team to buy time until he could run into the other one before he would have to come back after his next gym battle. " We have been lucky so far but there is still one more I want to try and get and I hope this Quick Ball will do the trick. I just hope luck stays on our side a little longer but at least we can afford to stick around a bit before we will be forced to leave." As he said that Vör picked up on something else heading their way and alerted Marchbaby to the approaching figure. " Dear me here comes something else, for such a sleepy town we seem to be drawing a lot of attention to ourselves. I hope we can get lucky again."
