Ember was feeling confident now, buoyed by Bishop's encouraging words and fired another volley of cinders at the Hoothoot. The owl Pokemon's feathers were singed yet again and started to taken on a blackened hue. Hoothoot realised this wasn't working out well for it and decided to change tact. It stared at the Charmander with its bright orange eyes and the fire Pokemon was lulled to sleep! VS. Wild Hoothoot

Despite this turn of events Bishop was rather pleased by how this turned out. Not with the fact that Ember was asleep of course but with the fact that the owl pokemon knew Hypnosis and could use it so well. That was exactly the reason he had wanted to find a Hoothoot in the first place.
"Hey Hoothoot, check this out."
Trying to distract the bird from his sleeping Charmander Bishop had thrown a pokeball. It should be weakened enough to catch by now and if not it gave Ember a few seconds to recover.

Hoothoot was in real danger of losing the battle and though Ember was asleep there was little hope of winning in its current shape. The owl was not expecting Bishop to try and capture it instead of waking up his Pokemon. The Pokeball scored a direct hit center mass and trapped Hoothoot inside. As the ball landed on the ground it rocked 3 times before coming to a halt and a loud click brought an end to the battle.  Topaz gained 1 level and is now level 5.  Ember gained 3 levels and is now level 14. Hoothoot has been captured, please complete the following code:

He waited and he watched till the pokeball stopped moving to signal the capture. Then Bishop breathed a sigh of relief and allowed himself to relax a bit. They had won and he not only had caught the Hoothoot he was after but his team was now a little stronger as well. Taking a few minutes to wake up Ember he let the others out as well and spent a bit of time just resting and spending time with them. "You've all done a great job," he said with a smile after everyone had chilled out a bit. "So good a job in fact that I think we can leave this route behind us. What say we head on in to Cherrygrove and see what we can find there?" The gathered pokemon all seemed to think that was as grand an idea as he did.
